Reviews for Darica Resort
Review 1:The bathroom had a constant bad smell and food menu a little plain.
Review 2:The bungalows around the pool were lovely and the pool very nice. Hotel staff very good with organising a tuk tuk driver and taxi driver.
Review 3:The location is a little out of the way from the town centre, but the natural location is one of the strong points of this hotel. It would have been good to have breakfast included in the price.
Review 4:Lovely, friendly and helpful staff who take the time to talk to you, and a great pool!
Review 5:No coffee/tea facilities in room. Not a huge problem, but for an early riser with breakfast starting at 730am, it was a long wait with no other options close by.
Review 6:Quiet, relaxing. Cool pool. Staff friendly. Use of free bicycles. Food/restaurant.
Review 7:The infrastructure in Cambodia is poor so don't expect great internet or constant power.
Review 8:The staff were fantastic. Everywhere in Cambodia people are friendly, but at Darica the staff were always on hand to help. They tried hard to solve every problem.
Review 9:The Queen Superior Room is a bit small and the de coration of the room is too simple .
Review 10:The garedn with tropical plants, the nice restaurant and especially helpfull and friendly staff.
Review 11:Not much explaination when we arrived, cold coffee, food just OK, the pooltable is in really bad chape.. Lots of rats!
Review 12:Nice looking resort, peacefull, boys from the bar/restaurant were really nice, the swimmingpool, the location
Review 13:The room had a slow sink drain issue and a nasty smell. We chose Kep as its a bit off the beaten track however there is alocal Kep issue of intermittent or low current electricity supply. This meant that electronics took forever to recharge and the Darica internet seemed to have a maximum user limit which is very frustrating if you are trying to research the next part of the trip or speak with family members over Christmas.
Review 14:The staff were great, not just good at their job but we felt that they wanted us to have a great time and they took pride in the place. The huge above tree level dining/hang-out area is really cool. The gardens are really lush and well maintained and give the individual bungalows a sense of being tucked away. The pool at the centre is a gift on a hot day/evening and is well maintained. Food and drink prices are reasonable and the included breakfasts are great (love the fresh fruit combo).
Review 15:The power turned off very frequently, about 8 times in two days! Spent overy 12 hours the first day with no power.
Review 16:Staff were all kind and friendly. The pool is beautiful and gardens really lovely.
Review 17:The bathroom had some minor smell. Wifi was not too stable probably due to somewhat unstable electricity.
Review 18:Everything! The spacious and comfortable room. The quiet and beautiful setting. The large deck for leisure above the reception area. Nice breakfast.
Review 19:- WiFi was very poor in our room (sometimes even not connectable) - free breakfast options limited
Review 20:- very friendly, helpful staff (thanks again :-)) - beautiful resort with a nice garden - comfortable room
Review 21:Just too far for easy walking to crab market . Need $2 tuk tuk to come and go. Not a big issue.
Review 22:Green oasis in immaculate gardens with big pool. King rooms far superior to queen rooms which are are a bit small and dark. We opted for the king. Restaurant good food.
Review 23:Nothing! A great hotel with amazing views and lovely gardens.
Review 24:Friendly and helpful staff, a great pool with lovely green and flowery surroundings. Lovely clean room. We also enjoyed both breakfast and lunch during our 2 night stay.
Review 25:Rats on the roof...there were many small spiders in the room, the hot water supply was unstable.
Review 26:The staffs there were so nice, they cut a piece of aloe for my sunburn. Breakfast was good.
Review 27:Beautiful bungalows in a wonderful countryside resort, very nice and comfort room, beautiful garden and pool, very good breakfast, very friendly staff.
Review 28:It's a shame there were a few things that let this hotel down. I expect the room had been made up/new sheets a couple of weeks prior to my stay as dust/cobwebs and little spiders everywhere, incl. in bed!! Had to go and ask for toilet roll as none there, and toilet seat missing. Cold shower. Breakfast was ok.
Review 29:Located a short tuktuk ride from the "centre" if you can say that about Kep, as everything quite spread out. Warm welcome on arrival (incl. 2 dogs), spacious room and lovely pool.
Review 30:Darica was a perfect place to relax. The staff were lovely - really friendly and helpful. The garden was beautiful and it was such a tranquil environment. It's a small hotel, with thatched chalets set around the swimming pool. It was perfect for us and we really enjoyed our stay. Be kind to Toro the dog and he will follow you around and love you.
Review 31:The only disappointment was we thought we had booked one of the pretty individual bungalows and infact we had a room under the restaurant area which was at times a bit noisy- scraping chairs etc. To be fair the manager said we could move but he pointed out the noise was limited and to certain hours when the staff were clearing up, which it was and the room was better adapted for three people, so we stayed where we were and the noise issue didn't spoil our stay.
Review 32:Beautiful place, very picturesque setting. Lovely spacious, beautifully decorated room for family of three with three large comfortable beds, spacious bathroom. Good pool area. Beautifully designed restaurant area overlooking the pool and good food- khmer or western food offered, both equally good. The staff were very friendly, attentive and helpful.
Review 33:Internet is only available in the restaurant.
Review 34:Really nice bungalows and pool. Comfy bed. Well worth staying for a couple of days. Good food and cocktails available.
Review 35:More breakfast choice Stronger air con Calcium clean up of bathroom tiles needed
Review 36:Lovely setting recommended highly. It is serene and gorgeous setting....boutique only 8/9 bungalow. Nice staff but not much English except Sophaat who is excellent....a few improvements...a choice including pancakes or muesli for breakfast Bathroom looking tired and only a year old..think they need to get strong calcium cleaner on taps and tiles air con weak and pool us a bit cloudy as others have said so I think perhaps electricity force is weak. Don't let that stop u staying here..delightful
Review 37:Nothing negative to say about the hotel. The free bikes could be better maintained, but they were free so you get what you 'pay' for.
Review 38:Lovely location, not far from the sailing club which is a gem for dinner. Very easy to access the national park on foot and the crab market by bicycle. Staff were very friendly and professional. We were upgraded without cost even before checking in because of plumbing issues with our reserved room. Gardens are lovely and the views from the very comfortable seating area were lovely.
Review 39:The Family room was well laid out for our needs and cleaned everyday.all chalets looked out over the lovely pool. The food was good and the kitchen spotless.
Review 40:A bit far from town, but close to the crab markets and the sailing club (great cocktails for sunset). And free bikes almost nullifies this comment. We stayed in a cheaper room and the wifi didn't reach.
Review 41:Great facilities, pool, restaurant, staff, breakfast and dinner (no do miss the Amok here!). Price was pretty good considering the pool. Proximity to the start of the national park walks is great, as is the availability of free bicycles to use. Receptionist (not sure of his name) was helpful and atentative.
Review 42:A bit out of the "action" (if Kep the has action but a $2 tuk'tuk gets you to the Crab Market. It's a pleasant walk in the cool of the evening.
Review 43:Friendly staff, Good breakfast. FANTASTIC room and new resort. Pool great but pool table old and quirky.
Review 44:We stayed over a public holiday long weekend and large, multi-bed rooms means large family groups which does not always allow for quiet relaxing by the pool, but if you pick your times this would be a great placed to unwind.
Review 45:Stayed here in a 3 bed room with friends. Large, new, clean well-appointed rooms all with a view of the gardens and pool. Lovely, breezy upstairs area for meals and chilling out. We had breakfast and lunch and they were tasty, decent sized portions. Luckily we were on holidays and not in a rush though as service is certainly leisurely paced but very kind and helpful. Great value for money!
Review 46:the swimming pool was just refilled at date when we arrived, and it was not clean yet, water was dark. so we can't use it at that time. the thing is that it was holiday time, so they had to take care about it in advance, but they didn't.
Review 47:big veranda with view around
Review 48:When we arrived there was extensive construction work being carried out on the pool. We had booked Darica for its pool and it is not worth the price without it. They did discount the room for us but it was still disappointing. Rat using the roof beams as a highway through the room. Very noisy all through the night and first thing. Air con was completely useless due to straw roof. Darica is not worth it. Go to Botanica up the road for far better value for your money.
Review 49:The room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. Free breakfast was good although choice was limited.
Review 50:bathroom was a little too open plan
Review 51:location ( just out of town but walking distance easy) very comfortable surroundings staff were great and accomodating the pool was great.
Review 52:Breakfast menu which comes with room could be improved but there is a good choice a la carte which you have to pay for. I wish there had been a kids menu too as well as a hammac for icing on the cake!
Review 53:The room was beautiful and very well kept. Great pool with toys for children and night swimming. Was exactly what we were hoping for when visiting kep with our 6 year old son. Staff super friendly and helpful.
Review 54:Moskitos. Air conditioning didn't cool down our (large) bungalow below roughly 28 degrees - too warm for my taste.
Review 55:All very new. Nice bungalows and pool area. They make very delicious fruit shakes and breakfast was served quickly.
Review 56:The management and staff were wonderful and made sure that everything ran smoothly for the guests. Their focus on guest satisfaction is unparalleled. The grounds is beautiful. The room was very comfortable with mosquito net and air con and welcoming with fresh flowers. The restaurant/common area on the second level was the best place to hang out with the cool breeze and best wifi reception. The hotel staff helped with booking tour to Rabbit Island and tuk tuks for local tours. We regret that we had only 3 nights at Darica.
Review 57:We enjoyed our time at Darica Resort so much we extended our stay an extra day despite already having booked accommodations in Phnom Pehn. Close enough to all the essential sights and shops, but far enough away from the market and shops to make this resort a gem. The staff was amazing and always happy to chat and give advise/suggestions. Our room for five was a good size and very comfortable! We loved the daily towel creations and fresh flowers. We are already planning our return for next year!
Review 58:Very slow checkin considering no other guests were present and there seamed to be no urgency providing any breakfast service on the first morning. Gave up waiting and went elsewhere for breakfast. Seemed to jolt the staff into action for the following 3 mornings when service improved 10 fold.
Review 59:The secluded location.
Review 60:Roomsize (according booking.com 34m2 according to me 20m2). No fridge in the room. Located little bit outside town (interesting things not within walking distance).
Review 61:Very nice pool and beautiful garden. Staff were friendly, they arranged a breakfastbox when our transportation arrived to early. Many gecko's seen at the resort!
Review 62:Very poor lighting in rooms and in dining area, couldn't see what we were doing or eating.
Review 63:Very good breakfast. Nice pool. ok location. staff helpful
Review 64:Wifi couldn't be connected; would be better if fresh juice served instead of bottle juice
Review 65:Lovely resort. Room condition is good with AC. Quiet and relaxing
Review 66:I really loved the staff at Darica. They were wonderful, kind, extremelyhelpful, and friendly. I really enjoyed my stay with them.Darica is really close (2$ tuktuk ride or walking for 10 mins) to the crab market and you can walk to the beach from there. Kep is a beautiful place, if you are going to see it- stay here. Food and drinks are good and good price. ps. We loved the little black puppy that was on the resort. omg too cute.
Review 67:Bit of a smell from bathroom Some noise from the restaurant in the morning as it's located above the cheaper rooms Menu not too extensive and a little pricey
Review 68:Great pool Staff very sweet and always try their best to help Room was very comfortable Really peaceful location but not too far on the free bikes Little shop at the end of the road, very useful Cute puppy!
Review 69:The service in restaurant is very slow, due to limits of the kitchen appliances, maybe it is time for the owner to invest in the kitchen. Breakfast was painfully slow served, even if you just have bread with butter and coffee(up to one hour waiting time). It would be probably a good idea to organize at least a small buffet, so you can make your own toast without waiting.
Review 70:Nice bungalows, swimming pool and garden
Review 71:Darica Resort was the first stop during our family holiday in Cambodia and it was definitely one of the best. The resort is small, very intimate and immaculately kept. The staff is wonderful and very helpful and the bungalows are lovely, with perfectly functioning AC and a good supply of water for the shower. We loved exploring Kep, using the bicycles that were free for use at the resort, and we spent some relaxing time by the pool. Highly recommended . Floriana, UK
Review 72:Food was expensive for Cambodia. Our bathroom was very dark and gloomy.( black and brown wall tiles).
Review 73:The resort is quiet and relaxing, an ideal place to stop and relax for a few days. Our kids enjoyed the pool, and the chance to have a rest for a few days.
Review 74:everyone here so willing to help, we hired a motorbike and the barman took us to see various sites in his time, we broke down(not there bike) the boss came out straight away, got a man out to fix it, back on the road within an hour, food great. well worth a stay here.
Review 75:My son did not like the bright pink mosquito net! The white ones were far more in keeping...
Review 76:We stayed here sadly only for one night we wished we could have stayed longer. We had two "huts" one for my husband and myself the other for our two sons. The accommodation and setting was just beautiful and the staff could not have been more helpful and friendly. I would definitely recommend anyone to stay here wish we had spent our extra night here rather in Kampot before going into Vietnam.
Review 77:We had a special celebration on 1st January. We asked the staff to set a table with flowers and they made a real effort to make our day one of the most memorable of our trip. They we excellent. Our group were very impressed. We will be back.
Review 78:Firm beds seem to be the choice of many places in Cambodia, we slept very well though!
Review 79:The atmosphere: the hotel is located on an unmade street with the hills of the national park in the background. Sitting at the pool it feels secluded, sitting in the restaurant upstairs you can enjoy the views. Very helpful staff made our stay. Provided towels for the pool, help organising private taxi and pepper plantation visit. Good restaurant too: Scrambled eggs and fish amok are delicious.
Review 80:Credit card machine not working and no sufficient cash to give back
Review 81:The place is lovely. The bungalow set around the swimming pool, friendly atmosphere. Very clean. Helpful staff. 15 minutes on foot to the crab market or take the usual tuk tuk.
Review 82:breakfast was so poor, need to improve. and they haven't got credit card machine and said that it is broken so I have to pay cash even I have limited money.
Review 83:Location is really nice , near the national park and couple minutes to center by tuk tuk. So reasonable price when you compare the facilities.
Review 84:NOTHING !
Review 85:The kidness of the staff and also their availability. The hotel which is really nice ! The Kmer dog Kitoulou, "gardian" of the hotel which is a real nice dog !!!He loves a little bit of butter on some bread :-)
Review 86:If busy not enough sun loungers.
Review 87:Stayed for 3 nights in a superior king room, it was lovely. Really spacious with a super comfy bed ( not sure about the pink mosquito net!) all the bungalows are positioned around the pool but this did not disturb us. Lovely large upper restaurant/ terrace area. Ate there 1 night & food was good & reasonably priced. Only about 4 mins in a tuk tuk to the crab market. This is a gem of a place. Staff very helpful in sorting tuk tuk's & taxi's. Saphon is very helpful with excellent English.
Review 88:They had trouble with the power on a few occasions, but did there very best to fix it asap. Internet only in public area and very slow
Review 89:The room spacious and thatched roof. grounds are lovely but very new so no yet established.
Review 90:The room was really nice with a good presentation with flowers. The swimming pool is nice and it's not to close to the beach to don't have noises but not to far to be able to walk everywhere
Review 91:Although nice having all houses around swimming pool it also creates a lot of noise of screaming children. They also had the swimming pool open for non guests accumulating more noise in afternoon. Bad room had bad smell of sewage.
Review 92:Spacious rooms , nice front terraces
Review 93:Nothing with resort. Kep is a well stretched out town, but relaxing place
Review 94:The staff were great and and very helpful, the units were very comfortable and quiet, the pool was a wonderful asset in a garden setting, meals were very tasty, in reasonable walking distance to fish market.
Review 95:The resort hasnt had many guests yet and there are quite afew teething problems that the staff and owners are working very hard to fix. It would be un fair to list these as negatives at this stage. Unfortunately a lot of the work has been finished to a poor standard and rewiew written now may not reflect a future visit. The drivers that they recommend are of a below aveage standard.
Review 96:The staff were so friendly and helpful, you couldnt ask for better. We had the whole place to ourselves. Nice pool and great upstairs eating area. Food was of a high standard and reasonable price. When the gardens grow it will be a tropical oasis.
Review 97:The food was very bad. At breakfast they gave us some chemical juices and instant-noodle. But the hotel is brand new and magnificent, so it might become better with time. Also, we met a rat in the first bedroom, so they change us the room. Many insects aswell of all kinds. But again, the hotel is very beautiful, and the personnel helpful.
Review 98:The view, the pool, the decoration, the personnel, free bicycle.
Review 99:Zero
Review 100:Considering I had this brand new resort to myself what isn't there to like. I was treated like royalty. The staff were extremely polite, happy and 2 of them spoke good English. A big shout out to Sophat who was amazing. So relaxing, great pool and food. Really peaceful after being in city chaos of phnom penh. Breakfast was yummy.
Review 101:Being picky, the pool was over chlorinated ...
Review 102:Peaceful, great team, great place ...
Review 103:Amazing little oasis to relax and recharge. Very friendly staff and tasty food! The pool area was amazing as well.
Review 104:Nice view from restaurant upstairs. Nice staff.
Review 105:The room is not clean, especially the bath room. event after cleanup the room is still not clean.
Review 106:Facilities
Review 107:Staffs
Review 108:Not much in the town
Review 109:Staff were great and so accommodating. Pool and rooms where great
Review 110:Perfect hotel! I would recommend this place to everyone. Good price for very good quality. Very friendly staff and yummy food.
Review 111:Great location, very quiet and beautiful setting. Grounds well maintained, room very comfortable and clean. Staff very helpful and friendly.
Review 112:Nothing
Review 113:The entire venue was beautiful, the staff wonderful and the swimming pool perfect
Review 114:Very nice hotel! Lovely restaurant area and friendly staff!! I hope we Will be back one day!
Review 115:Pool needs more attention! But ok.Shower area & reception toilet need more attention on floor & general cleaning
Review 116:Every Thing!!!!
Review 117:consider replace shower, observe noise from aircon, bread did not taste good. It would be good if there is coffee in the room.
Review 118:the open restaurant with capable and friendly staff
Review 119:Peace and Quiet. Beautiful setting
Review 120:The AC simply wasn't fir for purpose. It's did not cool the rooms down at all.
Review 121:Great pool if a little dirty and big rooms
Review 122:Swimming pool, room for two adults and two kids, breakfast, staff even helped pickup after car rental return
Review 123:Shower by pool not working...
Review 124:Very friendly and attentive staff, peaceful location, brand new resort, personal overview of owner.
Review 125:Satisfaits
Review 126:Sejour reposant dans un beau cadre
Review 127:The location is not very good.
Review 128:Some the staff are very friendly.
Review 129:Wifi wasn't working most of the time
Review 130:Lovely greenery surrounding pool and rooms
