Reviews for Bed & Breakfast Scicli

Review 1:Located in the historic centre of Scicli. Piazza Italia came alive in the evening, with traditional music and dancing. It was great fun to watch everyone enjoying themselves!

Review 2:The setting and location of the place. The steps and cobbled walkways, the exuberance of our host and the absolute charm and beauty of Scicli. Take the tour with Roberto, the local historian.

Review 3:The landlord was always reachable and went a long way to make our stay pleasant. Cleaning was inpecable - above 4 star hotel standard. Parking was no problem in the nearby streets and public parking.Very good breakfast on nearby Cafe. Hope to return. Henrik- Denmark.

Review 4:Scicli B & B is in a perfect location, a two minute walk takes you to the Cafe for Breakfast. The rooms were very clean and Massimo the owner wants your stay with him to be perfect. The old town of Scicli is a treasure, interesting architecture and well placed for visiting the local area, Modica and Ragussa not far, beach 10 min drive

Review 5:very good location in the centre of the village. the owner is very helpfull, and supported us with finding a parking spot. even the bed was soft, we have noticed that a lot of B&B in Italy have very hard mattresses

Review 6:There are a lot of steps up to the b&b which didn't bother us as our bags were easy to carry. We could hear the neighbours talking in the flat below until quite late but it wasn't a problem. "When in Rome ...."!!

Review 7:Massimo went the extra mile to be warm and welcoming. The b & b was just off the main square yet we heard nothing of any traffic noise at all. With the shutters it was completely dark and we might have slept for days! Massimo helped us park before helping with our bags up the many steps. It is a pretty town and a short drive to the beach. He also told us which restaurant to go to for delicious Sicilian food.

Review 8:Owner Massimo was hospitable, helpful and did everything to ensure we had a great stay. Breakfast at nearby cafe was excellent and we found Scicli a great location to explore surrounding areas.

Review 9:The Studio was not near the B&B so this review relates only to the Studio which was directly onto a noisy street. Breakfast was provided in a local cafe in town.

Review 10:Owner was very helpful and welcoming. The town was very attractive. The studio was clean and well resourced

Review 11:The place felt small with low ceilings and limited windows. The many steps proved difficult when carrying luggage but after a day, we got better at it!

Review 12:We really enjoyed the innkeeper, Massimo. He was helpful, friendly and works to make your stay a pleasant one. The bed & breakfast is simply furnished (breakfasts are served in the plaza) - there were 3 rooms to our clean 'apartment' and lots and lots of stairs to get there!

Review 13:- a lot of steps to get at the B&B - difficult to find a parking space

Review 14:- large apartment for two persons - in the city centre - fabulous breakfast at the bar/pasticceria in the central square of the city centre

Review 15:This is a treasure of a B and B. Massimo (the owner) goes out of his way to welcome and spend time with his guests - we felt more like friends than customers. The accommodation itself was more like a mini-apartment, with a kitchenette, eating area, a good sized bedroom, and nice bathroom. The property is located up some steep stone stairs so you do need to be reasonably fit - but well worth it. The breakfast is provided at the owner's cafe a short distance away in one of the main piazzas - every day we had pastries, sometimes bruschetta or toasties, and a bowl of fruit, plus coffee and a bottle of water. All in all, excellent hospitality, a to-die-for setting in a charming baroque town, and definitely to be recommended.

Review 16:Very nice old town with history. Very exellent owner Massimo. Very clean, guiet and located in istoric centre of town. Have breakfast in the central square was amazing. We will recomend this small and couzy place for everyone.

Review 17:There is a flight of stairs on the way to the B&B, even though the owner helped with the luggage, so unless you have accessibility problems, this is just a minor inconvenience.

Review 18:The owner Massimo was great, even though his English was not very good, he was so helpful and energetic, and his body language left little margin for language barriers. The place is charming and confortable, the breakfast was delicious.

Review 19:Wonderful town (it's a shame we only were there for one day). Impressive building with old stairs and a beautiful yard. Great breakfast in the main square of the town.

Review 20:Need to go upstairs with luggages

Review 21:Very frendly owner. Nice breakfast in beautiful square!

Review 22:A lot of stairs so definitley not easy for disabled guests

Review 23:Massimo, our host, was helpful and kind and efficient. Good breakfast.

Review 24:nice location, very clean and massimo is the nicest guy: smiley, helpful, a true scicli host.

Review 25:Our host Massimo was fantastic and was always on hand if we needed anything. The apartment was extremely well equipt, with everything from coffee to olive oil, and a hob and pans. We had fresh towels every other day and complimentary slippers too! Really impressed and would recommend to fellow holiday makers.

Review 26:Given the previous reviews about the B&B we were disappointed withthe studio, which is separate from the B&B - not in the old centre, but on via Nino Bixio, a busy main route through the town. The groundfloor room opens straight onto the street and there was noise from thecontinual traffic. No rustic furniture - utilitarian rather thanattractive furniture, although the kitchen was well equipped. No WiFi atthe studio although we could use the WiFi in the main B&B courtyard, some 300m away.

Review 27:Massimo, the owner, was attentive & friendly and the breakfast wasgood. Scicli is a lovely place, very attractive & walkable in scale.

Review 28:Steps to carry bags to the B&B but this is acceptable and quite common in accommodation in Italian old towns.

Review 29:Massimo is very helpful and full of life... Central location means you can walk everywhere - clean and comfortable.

Review 30:We loved being Massimo's guests, he has been extremely friendly and helpful. Our stay at his B&B was excellent. The place is very quiet and lovely, and the quality of service very high. The breakfast was very good as well.

Review 31:The steep flight of stairs may not be suitable if you have accessibility problems.

Review 32:Squeaky clean room with all the required necessities at a very reasonable price. The B&B is essentially a refurbished typical home in Scicli, with a number of rooms tucked away up a flight of stairs in a quiet alley. The owner, Massimo, was very welcoming and friendly. He gave us a tourist map with all the attractions in the city and suggested a number of restaurants where one could have a nice meal. Breakfast is in the nearby Caffe Sicilia, and consists of a large plate of pastries and beverages on order (we had cappuccinos and freshly squeezed orange juice). After breakfast we had a lengthy chat with the friendly owner of Caffe Sicilia and Massimo, who suggested we try out the traditional Sicilian cuccidatu (savory pastry filled with sausage and ricotta). Overall B&B Scicli was a very nice experience and would stay there again anytime!

Review 33:Massimo was an enthusiastic host and was very helpful and concerned. The town is nice and convenient size to get around. The location of hte B and B is very quiet and convenient.

Review 34:No problem for us, but some might find the 67 steps up to the B+B a bit uncomfortable.

Review 35:The best place we stayed during our 2 weeks tour of Sicily. The accommodation had all we needed, including a decent size fridge and an expresso machine (+coffee)! There was a table and chairs in a pretty courtyard, and brollies and games for had we wanted to go to the beach. Massimo was an excellent host, nothing was too much trouble for him. Breakfast was taken in a bar/restaurant in town with an astonishing selection of fresh pastries.

Review 36:scicli is one of the unknown beauties of southern sicily. absolutely cute, clean, fascinating little mountain city. i absolutely recommend the b&b, so nice location in the local neigbourhood and walking distance from the centre and the other places withon the city. massimo, the owner is great! so nice, funny and attentive! parking is availailable close by on the street. beach few kms away with the car. nice location to take day trips to various beaches, valle di templi and siracusa. breakfast was probably the best arranged and filling that we had during our whole 10 days explore of sicily. absolutely worth of the stay in this lovely b&b.

Review 37:Massimo is a great host! The place is very quiet and clean. There's everything you may need in the kitchen - even olive oil. Very good breakfast (included) in caffe on main square. And Sampieri is the one of best beaches we have seen on Sicily.

Review 38:Massimo is a great and caring host who makes your Sicilian experience very nice. Breakfast at the cafe on the main square is really cool and really Sicilian/Italian. Frankly, we been to many places before and no host was so attentive as Massimo. If you want real Sicilian/Italian experience, go to Scicli...

Review 39:Massimo is always available to give you all the information/help/advice you may need. Ospitalità siciliana at its best. Not to mention the amazing breakfast at Café Sicilia.

Review 40:The location which is a stone's throw from the central piazza and from restaurants. Massimo the owner gives one a warm and hearty and efficient welcome. Breakfast is had at his Café of Sicilia on the piazza itself. The B&B is to be found at the top of a flight of stairs Sicilian-style. Get ready for some exercise ! And Scicli is definitely worth a visit.

Review 41:We had an apartment at this B&B with a fully equipped kitchen, table and chairs, a double bed , two single beds and good bathroom. There is a nice little sitting area outside in a pretty courtyard. Massimo the owner is very attentive and helpful and a marvellous breakfast is served outside his cafe just down the road. Scicli and it's surrounding towns, beaches and countryside are all very beautiful. The property is set in the rocks up a steep flight of stairs which was very atmospheric and typical of the area .

Review 42:It is an uphill climb to get there involving a long stairway

Review 43:The place was clean and comfortable. Massimo was vigilant to ensure his guests were happy and had envy thing they needed. The breakfasts at Bar Sicilia were very good with good variety.

Review 44:The mattress could be improved but not a big issue.

Review 45:Massimo maintains a well organised and clean b&b right in the center of Scicli. My wife and I spent three nights from where we could easily visit the sights in the surrounding area and towns, Ragusa Ibla, Modica and the seaside towns. Nota is 45 minutes sway. Scicli doesn't appear to be on the busy tourist overnight trail, is in a beautiful location and we have only experienced friendly and welcoming people.

Review 46:Nothing

Review 47:Scicli was the biggest surprise of our 1 week tour of Sicily. A fascinating place - clean and rubbish free. Wonderful views from the castle, high above the town. Max was extremely friendly and helped us with the luggage - it is quite a climb to the accomodation! The accomodation is good, clean but not for the infirm.

Review 48:the welcoming, friendly owner the central location copious breakfast Scicli - an interesting attractive town

Review 49:no tea facility only coffee

Review 50:his help with luggage at arrival and end of visit

Review 51:The occasional mosquito!

Review 52:Great location. Friendly and helpful host. Great breakfast in local bar.
