Reviews for Cedar Hotel
Review 1:1.I took a triple room on Second floor (201 or 206). During the whole period of my stay, some sound of heavy motor was coming intermittently. It seems as some motor is starting, running for 10-15 sec and then going off. Then again starting after 20 secs, running for 10-15 sec and going off. This was happening throughout the night and was causing discomfort. 2. Breakfast could have been better to include some cornflakes, fruits, cakes etc. I realized it because I am a vegetarian & mentioned it in special services at the time of booking.
Review 2:Cleanliness & Facilities inside the room were very good, staff was also very well behaved & co-operative. Location of the hotel is nice.
Review 3:Maybe the interior decoration could be improved, but this is the arab style, so it's fine for their culture. All the other things are very nice!
Review 4:They had full amenities (even comb for the hair, toothbrush, bathrobe, everything). The stuff was very polite, they helped us with information and reservation. The breakfast was local and full. The location central and was easy to find parking. The room was spacious. Generally very nice stay.
Review 5:they gave me two beds instead of one king bed, it is noisy during the night, really difficult to find
Review 6:staff are the best, location with access of most attractions
Review 7:Excellent hotel in the center of Aqaba Amazing staff, helping organizing activities. (Even share they lunch with me) Good Wifi Very good but simple breakfast with various choices on a buffet.
Review 8:Location is a bit tricky to find driving a car. Bathrooms seem a bit old on some parts and with need of cleaning in others. They shut off the hot water.
Review 9:Value for the money, friendly staff, and good breakfast.
Review 10:room was not "finished" upon our arrival, even though we arrived quite late and after scheduled time; breakfast is very limited;
Review 11:Staff very helpful and polite, no doubt about it; location is fine; clean and presentable; value for the money
Review 12:There was a slight problem with the sink but was fixed quickly.
Review 13:Staff is very welcoming and very helpful. Very centrally located by off in a quiet street. Parking is right next to the hotel
Review 14:The breakfast is very basic. But it's for free...
Review 15:Great staff, great bedrooms, great location and all for very good price. I used to stay at hotels with double the price but wasn't pleased as much as this hotel.
Review 16:During our stay of two nights the elevator was out of service. We had to move in an out of our second floor room via the stairs. It proved very uncomfortable for my 8 month old wife. Also the breakfast was delayed by 90 minutes on the second morning.
Review 17:Great location in the center of town. Comfortable rooms and beds. Friendly staff.
Review 18:Wifi didn't work properly in the room. Usually worked though.
Review 19:Clean, hotel staff were friendly and knew English, the minibar was nice, bathroom was clean, a huge variety of TV channels, bed was comfy, no noise, complementary breakfast taken to your room. Universal outlets. Pretty good location.
Review 20:Bed a little hard, but still ok.
Review 21:Excellent location, very helpful and friendly staff. Took time to tip us on the things to see around and offered tea. Clean room and good breakfast. Had 50% discount for Berenice beach club (7,50 JD instead of 15), nice place at about 20 km from town.
Review 22:Very friendly staff.Upon arrival we were given glasses of orange juice and a basket of fruit. They kept our suitcases while we went to Petra for an overnight stay.
Review 23:a bit noisy on the street size need to wait long for hot water in the shower tv not working and not fixed, even after our requrest
Review 24:good location friendly personnal a few metres away from center
Review 25:We had a great time at this hotel. The manager went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and comfortable. He picked us up from the border, and also drove us to our rental car for free. It was clean and comfortable. We could definitely stay here again!
Review 26:The manager of the hotel was exceptional - he helped us navigate the best prices for transportation and scheduled our pick-up and drop off. Everyone was cutomer oriented and the hotel was a greate value for the price.
Review 27:We especially appreciated the disponibility and the kindness of the staff. We had to check out and since we were leaving Aqaba at 1am, the staff allowed us to stay in our room for free until then. Thanks again !
Review 28:In the breakfast they give tang instead of fresh fruit juice.
Review 29:The rooms are clean and you can find restaurants and other shops nearby. I got Jordan SIM card in the area.
Review 30:There was a baby staying near my room that cried a lot. I didn't alert the staff because it wasn't that bad, but I'm sure they would have moved me if I had complained.
Review 31:Extremely helpful staff, yummy breakfast, easy walk to the sea.
Review 32:very loud place, 4th floor (highest). You can hear the street and water pump !! :) Street itself is very dodgy. There is no normal window inside the room, they are 'blanked' so that one can't see the mess outside, it's dark.
Review 33:didn't like anything
Review 34:The WiFi connection was pretty weak, but I didn't come here to spend all my time online...
Review 35:The staff were excellent and made me feel like I was the only guest.
Review 36:More of preference than anything I found that the mattress was a little hard for my liking.
Review 37:Very friendly staff, got there at 2am, they had all my booking details ready, swiftly booked into a very clean room, bathrobes, towels, complimentary drinks. Centrally located within walking distance from souk and beach. Very good value for money!
Review 38:Nothing to complain
Review 39:Perfect location, very nice and helpful reception, very good price.I recommend storngly this hotel. I have stayed for five nights in this lovely hotel and i felt home all time. Sure I will book room in Cedar if i travel to Aqaba again.
Review 40:Wifi signal is poor in our room, but good in the lobby.
Review 41:Very helpful and kind staff from the reception. Room is clean. Breakfast is fair. Good location at downtown and by walking distance to bus station and the beach.
Review 42:Sounds of cats fighting outside. I had upgraded to a larger room or else room would've been pretty small.
Review 43:Kind, attentive, and helpful staff. Nice personal touch. Clean, comfortable. Good value for money. Personal touch.
Review 44:Very difficult to find especially with rental car in the dark and Arab drivers! On small street off busy road with central reservation. If asking say 'Si Dar' not 'cedar'. If driving without satnav, print detailed map first.
Review 45:Quiet, close to Aqaba downtown, good breakfast, clean rooms. Mustaph from Egypt could not do enough to help, crocodile towel origami his speciality!
Review 46:Problem with getting an internet connection, which is not quite unusual in Jordan.
Review 47:I was taken very well care of by everyone involved in making my stay as comfortable as possible, from the receptionist and manager to the bellboy Mahmoud. The room was of a high standard, nothing missing as far as I could see. Some extra fruit at the expense of the hotel was brought in later on the day of arrival.
Review 48:Excellent staff, very helpful and friendly, clean room, towels and bed linen. There was a free bottle of water and fruits waiting for us upon arrival. Working wireless internet and TV with many programs to choose from. In Cedar hotel I had the best night sleep in hotels ever. Hotel is located very close to main bus station (max. 5 min. walk).
Review 49:I didn't like the noise from the parking lot in which our window open on to. Strangely I could hear the humming vibration of the air condition unit in the room below us when I put my head on the pillow. (My husband had no troubles with it but it bothered me just as I was falling asleep.)
Review 50:We traveled as a family of five and I liked that they had a family room for us. We had three beds and a fold down couch. We had a non-smoking room, which is important in Jordan where there is a lot of smokers. We were pleased with the breakfast. There was a large assortment of cold choices and the kitchen made egg orders. The location was good. Aqaba is small so any place in town is a good location. This is a great hotel if you are just looking for a place to sleep and aren't coming to Aqaba for the resort beaches.
Review 51:We cannot fault this hotel
Review 52:the attitude of the owner, manager and the staff towards their guests trying to do their best to exceed the expectations, e.g. Mahmoud showed us Aqaba after his day shift which was highly appreciated. We stayed at the hotel at the beginning and end of the trip. In both cases we were welcomed by fruit and complementary bottles of water. We would surely recommend the hotel to anyone looking for a value for money hotel
Review 53:The bad cleaning especially in the bathroom. Drain in a bathroom stall worked very badly, he was dirty by strangers hair which did not clean. Very weak water pressure was always. Wi-Fi was seldom.
Review 54:Small cozy hotel in a quiet location near the center of town. Near shops, restaurants, cafes. We had a car, so no problem getting to the beach Berenice 15-20 minutes.
Review 55:The room didn't have a window. The power went out in the morning had to use a flashlight to see in the room. Had to pay for the hotel in cash their was no power for the credit machine. Good thing we had extra dinars.
Review 56:Fridge was stocked with an assortment of complimentary drinks. Room and bathroom were clean, ample towels and hot water. Fruit basket was delivered to our room upon arrival.
Review 57:- some issues with parking; there is a park near the hotel but it is not exclusive to it so could be difficult to find a free place
Review 58:Very good hotel located in city center but on a side street. Big & clean rooms. Good breakfast with local specialities. People at the hotel are very welcoming & friendly. They have tickets to Berenice Beach Club (7,5 JD/person) which seems the best beach option for tourists - the beach club provide also transport from/to hotel. Overall good value for money.
Review 59:Drainage in shower booth poor probably clogged. Wifi not strong enough to work on the third floor. Noisy street in front of hotel.
Review 60:Nice spacious room, helpful staff.
Review 61:The toilet plumbing is not working well - toilet paper needs to be disposed of in a bin.
Review 62:Staff is very friendly; really did their best to make us feel good - we got a welcome drink and fruit basket, pancake was made for our toddler, etc.
Review 63:The staff went out of their way to make us feel at home. The location of the hotel is in a well-worn part of town, but a good location for seeing the sights along the harbor and good restaurants We just needed a place to stay overnight before entering Israel, and the Cedar Hotel suited us fine. We felt entirely safe and the breakfast of very good. .
Review 64:The room looked exactly the same as it does in the pictures. The breakfast was a simple Arabic buffet but the chefs are friendly and offer to make you an omelette as well. The reception quickly arranged an activity for me for my one-day stay which included a stay at the luxurious Berenice Beach Club. It's a marvellous hotel which truly cares about their reputation.
Review 65:During morning rush hour, demand for water created low pressure
Review 66:Friendly and helpful staff; coffee/tea/fruit provided upon arrival; laundry facilities nearby; market nearby; well located
Review 67:The bed was very hard for me and I had to ask for an extra mattress which was provided straight away. The street its located in is a bit run down and its not easy to find initially but the hotel itself is very good value for money.
Review 68:The staff were very helpful & friendly - nothing was too much trouble - a welcome drink and fruit bowl were thoughtful touches - the hotel was newly furbished, very clean and comfortable rooms. Its well located just a few minutes walk from the beach and centre
Review 69:Breakfast can be improved, both food and location.
Review 70:Our stay at Cedar Hotel was very nice. The room was big and confortable: we found animal shaped towels on our bed on each day, and we were offered a fruit basket!! The staff was very kind especially Ahmed who helped us a lot, notably I had to go to the hospital and he called my insurance agent. Lovely
Review 71:the small street in which the hotel is located needs an urgent "face lifting" to become more hospitable
Review 72:the hotel is well situated in town, it is very friendly to its guests and very cooperative with their wishes and needs. the whole stuff and especially Mahmoud are there to serve with a smile and efficiency. it is not luxurious but it is very homy and pleasant and very clean. it is warmly recommended
Review 73:No hot water. We stayed here two nights and had to leave early morning for our day trips.. even though the weather was hot, we felt the need for a hot shower..
Review 74:Good facilities-wifi, laundry, kettle, lift. Good breakfast. Rooms are clean with good interiors and some artistically arranged towels. The hotel has a tie up with sindbad for water sports including scuba diving. The instructor at sindbad was very nice and made our first dive a very memorable one.
Review 75:We really enjoyed our stay in the Cedar hotel, the staff was super hospitable and friendly. The price to quality is great, I strongly recommend choosing this hotel if you're staying in Aqaba, you definitely get much more than you're paying.
Review 76:Upon checkout, either the attendant was terrible at math or he managed to swindle an extra 5jd from me. At one point he said 'You gave me 58jd and you owe 42 JD so I owe you 10jd.' Really? That bad at math and you run a front desk? I think I caught it but I'm still not sure if his dancing circles around me with his numbers got more or not. Of course buyer-beware, so I have to see this with a little humour at myself, but still. Really?
Review 77:Immaculate bathrooms and bedroom
Review 78:Nothing serious really, but: -- I wished there had been a bathtub (The shower was good and bathroom had all the toiletries you need). -- The TV and AC were a bit hard to control
Review 79:I've been to Aqaba three times over the past three years, and I must say that our stay at Cedar Hotel was the best experience. What we especially liked: -- The staff were very nice, friendly and always ready to help -- The room was clean and comfortable -- A welcoming basket of fruit was given to us as well as free water bottles -- I went to Aqaba in Ramadan, and the free suhoor meals were quite good (I liked the fact that the meals were brought to our room)
Review 80:Large clean room, good air conditioning and breakfast in the room for free. Good wifi. The staff was very polite and helpful with my requests and arranged taxis and excursions for me very easily.
Review 81:Only street parking available on a small street; address can be difficult to find - even with a GPS it took us asking several people over the course of 45 minutes.
Review 82:Short walk to the souq; incredibly friendly staff; comfortable bed; good breakfast; good value for the price
Review 83:Great staff, clean rooms, super location, good breakfast
Review 84:excellent staff on reception, excellent welcoming by reception

Review 87:Staff were amazing. Friendly, helpful and very welcoming.
Review 88:nothing bad to say
Review 89:pretty good location...laundry right next door so was able to get some done
Review 90:The bathroom was very dirty, with cochroaches every night... The towels smells snuff everyday... The breakfast is poor.
Review 91:Location and staff
Review 92:Very clean, nice and easy...
Review 93:actually it's a bit expensive compared to the fact you can get a room for 5 more JD in a 4 star hotel
