Reviews for Casale del Murgese Country Resort

Review 1:Unfortunately 2 of us were ill the day after arriving. Wi-Fi in our room was non existent

Review 2:Lovely swimming pool - better than the pictures! Layout great with easy access to all the facilities.

Review 3:The hotel is mostly orientated for Italian tourists. This means that only receptionists speak good English. The rest of the staff have very limited knowledge. Breakfast was not poor, but not much choice was Available. In total on think that this is rather good hotel, but the price was slightly high.

Review 4:The location is nice, but far from main towns. You need a car either to reach the hotel or to able to travel around. Rooms are nice and rather spacy.

Review 5:Decor a little dated in rooms and breakfast could be improved.

Review 6:Absolutely amazing swimming pool. Lovely spacious garden grounds and nice helpful staff. Nice pool bar with very reasonable simple lunch.

Review 7:What a wonderful hotel with fabulous caring and attentive staff. The pool is as great as it looks, the rooms extremely spacious and comfortable. Good location for touring around Puglia.

Review 8:The pool area is just stunning with wonderful views and sunsets. Bar staff friendly and nice towels. The rooms are comfortable spacious and oh so clean! It felt very luxurious.

Review 9:Everything

Review 10:Wifi performance a bit poor

Review 11:Fantastic location and great staff

Review 12:Grounds very tidy and not on top of everyone. Pool was amazing.

Review 13:Great hotel with sea views from the room. Lovely and quiet and with a restaurant that was incredible

Review 14:Staff were so friendly, even helped me plan my proposal to my partner. Great facilities and the restaurant was fantastic.

Review 15:Abysmal. Some of the worst service I have ever experienced. Surely some sort of front for a money-laundering service, as no-one there seemed to have any idea about what was going on. Nothing stocked, or serviced, breakfast consisted entirely of odd cakes, only two options for lunch (hot or cold pasta), the bar wasn't serviced. After lacerating my foot at the beach, were unable to provide bandage or any first aid, or any transport to a hotel. Tried to charge 10E for losing a room key. Hard to really put into words how poorly run this place was. I found the staff to be rude and unhelpful at every turn, even despite the fact that myself and my friends were the only people there, taking up four rooms. I literally have no idea what the staff thought they were doing there. Language always a barrier- not a place for a tourist, or anyone looking for an actual hotel. Find somewhere else.

Review 16:Looked good, but after looking at the quality of other places there, nothing special.

Review 17:We were the only guests there! Hardly any staff. Bar was never open not allowed to use the pool never any drinks available and nothing when we arrived!! Not what we expected and not mentioned at time of booking.

Review 18:A fantastic rural location. A beautiful infinity pool. Bedroom and bathroom very clean and comfortable. The few staff there were very friendly.

Review 19:We spent €240 per night and got the following value.Location: Difficult to find (just one miniature signpost on a tertiary track); proximity to the sea (rocky beaches) is a plus.Rooms: in a poor condition (toilet cover not fixed to toilet, telephone in the room not functioning); photographs did mislead us as, in reality the style is somewhere between flintstones, country style and non defined modern, pseudo-arty kitsch. Almost no privacy to the neighboors - the table with two chairs in front of the room door is so close to the neighbors table that it is only usable if the neighbor belongs to family or is a friend. Almost empty Minibar added to the sadness of the experience.Overall structure: Plants just planted - almost no shadow and very little charm. Garden irrigation system the dominant feature of the entire landscape. Pool area is acceptable - though not particularly special.Staff: The whole complex appears like one big laboratory for apprentices of just graduated school kids without foreign language skills (at least they smiled - friendly, though a bit helpless)Bar next to reception desk: It was not serviced at all. Being the only area with WiFi (that did not function after 10 pm). Had to order a Gin/Tonic in the 100 m distant restaurant. Placing the order took 10 minutes (finding a person with language skills!) and what we got was a miserable Gin/Soda.Dinner/Food: Dining on a terrace where a notebook placed on a camping table with the screen facing the guests provides the musical entertainment - a hopefully just once in a lifetime experience. Menu consisted of choices between two started, two mains ... There were only four tables occupied (August!). We wanted the fish as main. We were informed that they ran out of that fish but we could have another one. OK! Waiter came back again, declaring that they only had one of the other fish. Considering the price for the dinner the quality was hardly acceptable.

Review 20:The fact that we were not intimidated and were not charged for additional nights when we decided to leave again after the first night. The only professional staff was at the reception desk.

Review 21:The beach associated with the hotel (Lido Bambu) had unpleasant staff, and umbrellas/seats allocated to guests were not on the main part of the beach, but a little behind.

Review 22:Friendly staff (especially Michele and Angelo at the restaurant) Size and cleanliness of the room Huge and beautiful swimming pool

Review 23:We were a bit disappointed about the service during breakfast. Maybe it's the language barrier (no English at all) but asking every morning 3x for a coffee and the staff forgetting this over and over again is just a bit enjoying. Lot of attention for the Italian families and not so much for us. Just a shame because in the evening it's great!

Review 24:Nice location. Great big rooms. Area is spacious and nicely set up. Food is perfect. All new and fresh and nicely designed.

Review 25:Reception staff could be a bit more welcoming and helpful; Breakfast should be of higher standard for 4 star hotel

Review 26:Well located Calm New and clean Nice swimming pool Large rooms

Review 27:Great setting, friendly staff, veryu good accommodation.
