Reviews for Richmond Hotel Akita Ekimae
Review 1:Nothing.
Review 2:This Richmond Hotel, as with the two others I’ve stayed in, is just great. The rooms are comfortable, the staff are gracious, the locations are convenient, and the prices are reasonable.
Review 3:The restaurant was very crowded in the morning and there was no English style tea. There was a fairly good selection of food, but the food wasn't laid out in a manner that made sense. There was food as we came in, along the far wall and in the left corner. It made finding things difficult and hard to know where the lines began.
Review 4:The Front Desk Clerk spoke excellent English and we were able to check in quickly. Our room was a little small, but it was in a big city so understandable. The amenities in the bathroom were very nice and well thought out. The heater and the humidifier both worked well in our room.
Review 5:This hotel is very convenient for Akita station (5 minutes' walk), clean and modern. The reception staff were very welcoming, room was nice with comfortable bed and the breakfast buffet offered a good variety, mainly Japanese but with some Western options.
Review 6:The buildung on the outside has not much charm.
Review 7:on my journey around the globe I was lucky to pick this hotel. Despite the overall appearance of the building from the outside it was a good choice. The staff was very friendly at the desk and the breakfast. The breakfast had to be paid extra, but it was worth the money. It is mainly for Japanese, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. The access to the hotel is easy. Just a straight walk from the train station.
Review 8:Of the 3 rooms we had, one of the rooms had a weak Wifi connection so we sat in the corridor to get connected! Breakfast was so-so only and probably not worth the 1400Yen, especially since the train station offers lots of choices even at 8am in the morning.
Review 9:The rooms were larger than usual and very comfortable. The reception staff was very helpful and gave us unlimited supply of lavender bath salts and sunblock and other amenities upon check in. It was conveniently located, and we liked the city and the hotel so much, we extended our stay for a second night.
Review 10:Beds were hard but I think that is just Japanese style. The hotel should not get a lower rating just because it is different from American beds.
Review 11:Being near the train station was great. The staff helped us with everything we needed.Very clean. Great hotel.
Review 12:Breakfast was not as good as other Richmond hotels in Japan. Property is a bit of a walk from the station.
Review 13:The staff are very friendly and accommodating.
Review 14:very clean, nice pyjamas, facial masks and lotion for ladies, good breakfast, within 5 mins walk from the train station, not a problem even with suitcases
Review 15:The hotel is at walking distance from the JR station and it was easy to spot; streets around offered lots of choices of restaurant and drinking places, the hotel is also close to the wet market where you can buy really local food. Around 10 min from the central park and the Akita city art museum. Must highlight that there are many great facilities and equipments in the room, for instance, air cleaning machine, multi plug charger. I was given a welcome pack with bath salt and facial mask. I can't complain anything about this place.
Review 16:Automated check-out machine only in japanese (however, it is quite self-explanatory). they offer open wifi only. This might be disturbing to some people (though not to me).
Review 17:It's a business hotel so if you expect a place for good night's sleep for a small budget you get it. If you expect wellness, you won't. Nice location, just leave akita JR station and follow the arcades - escalators and a roof over the street make it really convenient to reach. Just the last ~50m are without the roof. English is spoken (even though I greeted in japanese for the check-in they switched to English which is quite rare in japan). However, it's the Japanese version of English so I don't recommend debating philosophy ;-) Beds are really comfy. For Europe they are on the hard side, for Japan on the soft side.
Review 18:Only staying for 1 night.
Review 19:Modern and well equipped room with nice details like network cable and phone charger. Decently sized bathroom with complete amenities. The vending machine room was a nice surprise and breakfast (not included) is worth it.
Review 20:We stayed in the top floor. The knocking sounds were more like from the wind. Toilet ventilation is not so good as it smells.
Review 21:Very comfy and spacious for a Japanese room and they are serious on enviroment.
Review 22:Details well thought out - hotel provided adaptor with cables to charge android/iphone right at the headboard of bed. Coffee sachet (rare) besides Japanese tea.
Review 23:No complains here!
Review 24:It's well located just a few minutes from the park and conveniently close to the station. All the staffs were really helpful and caring.
Review 25:The rooms are quite small especially if you have more than 2 luggages...
Review 26:The room amenities were wonderful. Clean and cozy rooms. The front desk staff, Ms Meg Chinda went out of her way to accommodate our needs. Their manager was also very helpful. The hotel is very close to the train station and to the mall, family mart, pharmacy, etc...very nice location.
Review 27:The rooms are quite compact. Not much space if you have more than 2 luggages.
Review 28:The staff was very friendly and helpful. They were very attentive to our needs.
Review 29:Included breakfast reflected staff unfamiliarity with "Western" concept, not surprising in this small and somewhat remote city. Probably very good selection if you're Japanese. Hotel has posted policy of absolutely no non-registered visitors in rooms. Japanese-only TV.
Review 30:New hotel, everything new. Fairly good sized room, comfortable bed. Attentive staff (but limited English). Clean.
Review 31:We have no complaints.
Review 32:The staff in the hotel & adjoining Kagura restaurant were very helpful. One of the front desk staff, Ms. M. Chinda spoke English very well & helped in check-in & even explaining the restaurant menu. The location was convenient & the room spacious by Japanese standards.
Review 33:Wifi could be better.
Review 34:Big bed in singleroom. Nice beautifully modern room. Cellphone charger in the room. Ecological hotel - you got a bottle of water when you choose not to change sheets in bed. You make a.choise every day
Review 35:1. No breakfast 2. A small room
Review 36:1. Very friendly and kind staff with good English 2. Newly decorated hotel and room 3. Near the JR Akita station 4. Air cleaner
Review 37:We enjoyed this hotel. It is about 10min walk from the station and it's very smart for the price. The customer service was excellent. You get offered cosmetics for adults and toys for children when checking in which kept our kids happy. The only funky thing is the payment. After checking in you have to pay at a vending machine before your key works. The room was good size (we had a corner room). The room had iPhone charger and air humidifier and was very clean.
Review 38:Best of 8 hotels I have stayed in the same number of days in Japan. Great return for the small rent I paid.
Review 39:clean, neat, convenient location to transportation, inexpensive compare to the quality of the facilities
Review 40:Staff was welcoming, professional.
Review 41:Small but clean room. Great location; minutes from train station and shopping.
Review 42:not so easy to find - a sign at the train station would be great
Review 43:good location, nice room - not so small like in most Japanese hotels, comfortable bed
Review 44:Modern hotel with staff members who spoke English. Also went beyond their duties to book a dinner reservation at an excellent tempura restaurant.

Review 66:nothing
Review 67:Everything
Review 68:Cleanliness
Review 69:The staff spoke very little English. The restaurant only had a Japanese menu.
Review 70:This is my first time to rest in Richmond Hotel. To be honest, every detail is wonderful. One staff's considerate service impressed me deeply and her first name is Suzuki even I don't know her last name.
Review 71:I tried to do laundry and the total time it took to wash and dry was 5 hours. Perhaps they need a more powerful dryer.
Review 72:Everyone at this hotel was very nice. There were two girls who could speak English very well. :-) everything was very new and clean.
