Reviews for Stamps of Stanley

Review 1:one the best places we have stayed in very comfy and very clean plus amenities were outstanding would return and stay in same place without doubt again a++++++++

Review 2:Mind your heads - this is a loft conversion so the ceilings can be quite low.

Review 3:Large clean comfortable loft apartment above the Post Office in the centre of Stanley. Every amenity provided for up to 5 people. Separate king bedroom and king and single beds in lounge area. Large sitting area with TV. Good free WiFi. 5 minutes walk to Nut chairlift, Both beaches are an easy stroll from the apartment.

Review 4:small thing of wind noise in the window but it went as the wind dropped

Review 5:great location in a great town, loved the old town feeling with the modern features in stamps.

Review 6:The location was within close walking distance of most restaurants, shops and The Nut. The apartment was very spacious and clean with everything we needed available. It looked as if it had just been refurbished. There was a folder with brochures on all nearby tourist attractions. The owners gave us good advice on these also. We had a wonderful 3 days and can highly recommend.

Review 7:Lovely attic apartment with everything we needed for a great stay. Friendly helpful management, lovely sea views, handy position in the centre of town. Beautifully appointed apartment. We would thoroughly recommend, and would love to visit again.

Review 8:The room is spacious, clean and comfy. It's also very conveniently located. The owner offered me very helpful advice on what to see and where to eat in Stanley.

Review 9:There was a lot of timber and so of course there was a lot of 'settling' through the night!

Review 10:So bright, airy and clean, great presentation! Wow!!! Welcoming letter from our hosts too.

Review 11:There was only a quilt in the room which was too hot for us. A blanket would have been nice.

Review 12:Charming facility in a great location in the main street and close to everything. Good cooking facilities. Large bathroom with heating, exhaust fans and towels rails. Local reading material. Bailey the dog was very amusing!!

Review 13:Facilities were spacious and well appointed. There was even a jug of milk in the fridge instead of UHT sachets! Bonus! Lynda was really helpful in giving us ideas about where to eat, considering our usual haunt for fish and chips was undergoing refurbishment.

Review 14:Nicely appointed upstairs unit with one separate bedroom and another large bed in the main area. There are a couple on angular areas (eaves) which are a little uncomfortable to use. Stanley is a nice town with beautiful surrounds; Penguins come to the shore here, climbing the 'Nut' is not for the feint of heart and Highfield historical house is a must to see.

Review 15:We couldn't work out the heaters on timers to start with, and fee's for the washing machine wasn't great. No oven in the kitchen or stove top - but there was an electric frypan (although we only discovered that after going out for dinner!).

Review 16:Great location, great view, great layout and loved having lots of space to spread out. Walking distance to everything. Would happily stay here again.

Review 17:Location is right in centre of Stanley. Rooms were very spacious, but adequately heated for the cold conditions. The washer & dryer are easily accessible & were a bonus for our longer stay.

Review 18:It was very homely and had a terrific ambience. The Exchange was very well equipped. It was a most pleasant experience and I am looking forward to returning.

Review 19:Charming 2nd floor apartment with large dormer windows overlooking Stanley and surrounds. The rooms were cosy and very comfortable. Apartment is close to the Nut chairlift and excellent restaurants.

Review 20:We were in The Customs House - the upstairs apartment. Very spacious, comfortable furniture, particularly the curved lounge. As the apartment was self-catering it was good to see that there was a small roasting oven as well as a microwave.

Review 21:Very comfortable and good value for money. The owner is very friendly and the property is in the main street. The ground floor unit is just that....no stairs

Review 22:The Fisherman's basket we purchased at the local fish and chips.

Review 23:The location was great. Lynda has a lovely craft shop attached to these premises and worth a good look at.

Review 24:There is nothing negative I can think of in regards to this property.

Review 25:The property was spacious, clean, tidy - I can't praise it enough. New, modern toilet and bathroom with top of the range fixtures. Very convenient. Friendly staff. Wish we could have stayed longer. Fantastic!

Review 26:The back shed needs a lower roof as it blocked the view from the balcony.

Review 27:We loved this place. The apartment was so inviting when we opened the door. Everything was so clean and it felt very relaxing with all the comforts of home.

Review 28:Having to leave

Review 29:What a treat it was to stay at Stamps of Stanley. The unit was fully self- contained with everything you would need, the location was perfect, walking distance to shops, pub, and with views of The Nut. And Bailey, the resident dog was delightful :), she was so friendly. We can only hope that we can go back and stay again one day. Very Happy guests

Review 30:The layout was so unusual and the TV & lounge very cleverly positioned. Such a sweet little place and even though the weather was cool it was lovely to be in such a comfortable bed & listen to the rain. Loved the town as well

Review 31:We stayed upstairs and downstairs - more room upstairs but we preferred downstairs - more cosy if only 2 people and easier to move luggage. Parking was put the front on the road but it was very quiet at night and no problem.

Review 32:Location, history of the building, plenty of room, clean and well maintained, great view of the Nut - would certainly stay here again - recommended!

Review 33:-

Review 34:Clean and spacious room, friendly staff, nice views from the room. It is a lovely place to stay if you run away from busy and noisy cities. Will definitely recommend!

Review 35:Parking at the side of the road might be an issue but it was fine for us.

Review 36:We were not sure when we arrived what we had booked as it is right on the path and looks as if it might be little dark cell! What a lovely surprise when you enter to find a beautifully restored old house with polished floorboards generous size studio room, well equipped kitchen and large sunny bath room. The back door opens onto a sitting area and the owners dog waits for you to throw his toy.

Review 37:It got very windy, but then you have to expect that in that part of the world.

Review 38:Very well presented and spacious loft with quality facilities. Quiet and peaceful. Stanley is a beautiful and quaint town.

Review 39:No door on bathroom. No door on toilet.

Review 40:Wonderful view of bay from top floor apartment. Beautifully decorated. Toilet separate from bathroom. Great breakfast at shop a few doors away.

Review 41:There is nothing to dislike, everything was awesome.

Review 42:The friendly helpful staff, very comfy, cosy, homely apartment with excellent views over the bay. Great location.

Review 43:No negatives

Review 44:Loved the ambience of Stamps. Beautifully restored old building with all the mod cons and extra little touches e.g. magazines and books for guests use. Good restaurant at nearby hotel.

Review 45:A bit like a barn and no soap/shampoo etc, just a push container of a foam that was for washing body as well as hair. Travellers usually leave these heavy items out of the bathroom bag to lighten their load and most accommodation places provide them.

Review 46:The warm welcome. The ease of getting to all that Stanley had to offer. Nice idea to keep the rooms basic and in the tradition of the age of the Post Office.

Review 47:Kitchen utensils a bit sparse. No potato peeler or sharp knife.

Review 48:The location right in the heart of town and near the Nut walk. Lovely modern décor but with a seaside touch.

Review 49:Huge bed/lounge room. Kitchen & bathroom up dated. Fantastic reading material. Wonderful deck to have an afternoon drink and nibblies and view the beautiful scenery. Bailey (the dog) greeting you in the morning and afternoons. Easy walk to the pub for a delicious meal and other places of interest.

Review 50:Nothing after all! Can't fault this place.

Review 51:We were warmly received by these good people. The unit was nicely furnished and lacked nothing. We paid more in some places for less. Location right in the middle of town. Will be writing to owners to express our appreciation.

Review 52:Nothing. All good.

Review 53:Everything you could possibly need was there. Well positioned on the Main Street of Stanley. Walk to dinner, walk to breakfast or stay in and cook for yourself. Highly recommend. People friendly.

Review 54:Nothing here that I disliked or objected to at all - highly recommended!

Review 55:Everything! Very well placed in the centre of Stanley, lovely view of The Nut and so comfortable. The owners have thought of everything to make any visitor feel at home -very well equipped kitchen, roomy bathroom, and a lovely lounge/bedroom - which came with a wide assortment of books, CDs, DVDs, and even board games! Honestly can't think of anything that could have made our stay any better than it was - except more time. Within walking distance of any number of dining options and the waterfront. Owners are to be congratulated - they have got it exactly right!
