Reviews for Il Palazzo
Review 1:We don't have anything good to say. So where do I start: no one madeup the room, no wifi code, no one invited us or told us about breakfast, minute shower, room not clean, bathroom not clean, location noisy, lastpersons shampoo bottle left from last guest, no one ever at reception,no English speaking, and rude manageress! I have used booking.com anumber of times and photos can be deceiving but have never felt quite ascheated as Il Palazo's photos and description.
Review 2:Montalcino is a superb little spot, but we feel as if we were deceivedby our accommodation advertisement.
Review 3:We were unfortunately given a room that was very noisy, because they were full they could not move us to another room. We eventually reached a compromise. Il Palazzo is right in the centre of Montalcino and as a result it is noisy (some may say it's has a vibe), I think people should be told that
Review 4:Noisy very early in the morning ......0430 . Bakery near by and vans were coming to load their products . Our room was on 2nd floor , windows facing street , so we could hear everything . No AC .
Review 5:Location
Review 6:The noise made sleeping impossible, no facilities what so ever. €85 for a lousy and noisy room is way to much. No aircondition and de noise from the street made sleeping impossible
Review 7:The ad said air conditioning. There wasn't any. The ad said B&B with breakfast. None was served. The ad showed a balcony with a view. There was no balcony in any room I could see. There was a lot of noise from traffic in the narrow street outside the hotel. Hard to get a good night's sleep.
Review 8:Friendly staff. Located in the middle of Montalcino one block from the cental square. The town is a very pleasant place to visit if you like Tuscany and wine.
Review 9:pessimo posto.
Review 10:An old room with the tag "lost objects" on the door summarizes our stay pretty well... Not possible to shut the heating so we had to sleep with an open window. Terrible breakfast. Staff with an attitude.
Review 11:Perfect location in the center of Montalcino
Review 12:Ever wonder what the inside of those hill town houses look like. Here is your chance. The architecture is interesting the owner is very friendly and the facilities comfortable. Phone ahead and the owner will meet you and after dropping your luggage, give you a parking pass and show you where to park. You cannot park on the hotel street as it is too narrow. and
Review 13:Headboard moving and noisy. Very sweet breakfast. Loads of steps, very not handy for luggage.
Review 14:Overall stay was fine. Rooms are large. Was very noisy outside, was a weekend evening though...
Review 15:Our room was rather noisy until late at night but this is to be expected given the location, and it wasn't a big issue.
Review 16:The location excellent for restaurants and shops in montalcino, good base for touring surrounding countryside, friendly, kind host Cinzia always very helpful.
Review 17:Still a work in progress. Owners are continuing to update but not quite there yet. Wifi not reaching all the guest rooms.
Review 18:Felt like going back in time with present day conveniences. The welcome was warm and sincere, recommended a great restaurant.
Review 19:No daily house keeping. Lots of the stairs-tough for the luggage. breakfast not so good. Parking is very tricky.
Review 20:location is right in the middle of the town. the keeper of the B&B super friendly but doesn't speak English. Room is ancient but interesting and fairly clean.
Review 21:-noisy at night until about 12am (from restaurant on street) -make sure you are within the right check-in times... saw the proprietor yell in Italian at a couple who were late... not even sure she gave them the room as they weren't at breakfast in the am!!
Review 22:beautiful building -spacious and unique rooms -nice breakfast -great location
Review 23:I don't speak Italian, but that didn't matter. The staff were friendly and helpful. Wifi only worked in the common area. Street was a bit noisey at night; however, if you have had enough wine (shouldn't be a problem) then it's not an issue for sleeping
Review 24:The shower was too small, water everywhere. A lot of noise in the morning from the street! Take earplugs!
Review 25:Location, staff was very friendly, breakfast was very good and complete in comparison with other hostals in italy.
Review 26:Really nice place.and location. Superb treatment by the staff Definitely a comfortable staying.
Review 27:Breakfast is not the delicious smells coming through your window from the bakery outside.
Review 28:Location was excellent
Review 29:No internet in rooms, just in common area and very slow.
Review 30:The B&B is really like an old palace. You feel like traveling through time.
Review 31:WiFi was inop after stating available. Advertised as a BnB but not breakfast.
Review 32:Free parking, location.
Review 33:No cleaning. No heating. Bathroom uber small
Review 34:Poor breakfast
Review 35:Rude unhelpful owner
Review 36:Beautiful old building
Review 37:very friendly reception, cool old style italian decor, close to center
Review 38:The buiding in which the B&B is located is an old building, the entrance is very beautiful and elegant. The hostess, Ms Cinzia, is very helpful, friendly, enthusiastic and energetic. The room was quiet towards the courtyard. The breakfast very good.Location was central and the parking arrangement good.
Review 39:We wished we spoke Italian so we could communicate better with the staff, but they were patient with us and everything was great.
Review 40:Very convenient, right in the heart of town. The room was large and comfortable, and there were a couple of living rooms available for reading and relaxing in this historic building. Be aware, there are lots of steps here and the building is a wonderful maze.
Review 41:Shower had NO pressure or heat. Period room door had 4mm crack full length-guests in hallway could see into room. Door lock was by key only, therefore you had to lock yourself in to keep door closed. We stayed 2 nights and there was no room servicing-bed not made, wet shower mat not replaced.
Review 42:Great location, good breakfast, parking permit for car
Review 43:We had a room with the window to the street and we were woken up in the morning by a machine that cleans the streets. The walls are not soundproof, but I guess you need to accept it when you're staying in a medieval house made of stone. We would recommend it anyway - if it's loud you can close the window and turn on the AC. Wish the staff spoke more English - I'm sure they would tell us a lot about the town and Tuscany.
Review 44:Exceptional hospitality - the owner and the staff very friendly and helpful. Rustic, but wonderful and comfortable interiors, decorated with taste and highest care for the details - even the smell! (fragrance of lavender and flowers). Looks exactly as in the pictures. It's a B&B, but there's an option of ordering some home made food or coffee (we did and apart from the coffee we got some cookies from the owner :)). There's a nice terrace for the guests. Good & tasty breakfasts.
Review 45:My room happened to overlook a restaurant downstairs and a loud bar down the street, so there was some noise up until about midnight. There are lots of stairs, which was fine with me, might bother others.
Review 46:The staff was very flexible, as I arrived late, and very helpful with my belongings, as I was traveling alone with a baby. The only speak Italian, and I only speak a little bit of Italian, but we were able to communicate adequately. Good simple breakfast with bottled water, juices, yogurt, espresso, pastries, bread, swiss cheese, and some meat cold cuts. The room was spotlessly clean - I know because my daughter crawled all over it, and her hands and knees stayed clean!
Review 47:Receptionist not available upon arrival and didn't speak any English. Also, did not accept Amex.
Review 48:Decor
Review 49:We have a very noisy two rooms, out the back of the B & B
Review 50:friendly owner, close to centre.
Review 51:I loves the friendliness! It is a charming bed and breakfast
Review 52:everything
