Reviews for Nakahara Bessou
Review 1:The staff were so amazing at this place. We arrived at their parking lot and the most friendly guy welcomed us in. The staff although not knowing much English made every effort to communicate. They have a fantastic onsen and the ryokan rooms have nice thick futons. We travelled for 3 weeks in Japan and this was a highlight
Review 2:At my depart (around 7am) it turned out they were unable to process anyof my 3 credits cards. The polite recommendations to "consult mybank" were anything but helpful, with the problem apparently beingon their side. Fortunately whilst being in a hurry have just enough yento pay by cash. Btw just checked - my credit card was ok with them fewyears ago, so lets hope it is just a temporary problem with foreigncards that they had...
Review 3:Already stayed here a few years ago and the place was and still is akind of such nice discoveries that I am almost jealous to advertise itto others :) Nice and spacy ryokan stile room and in combination withtwo meals included almost a bargain. Very good location for city centreand within walkable distance to the rain station (although taking a trammight be a little more comfy from/to the latter). Very likely willlook for this place again, if will happen to visit Kagoshima.
Review 4:The separate toilet and bathroom are quite small in the suite we stayed in. The bedroom and the separate living area are actually very large.
Review 5:Staff were most helpful. Location is actually very close to city centre but in a quiet and open area.
Review 6:A bit disappointed by the "common bathroom": it was clean and large, but lacks a few the services provided by some other onsen hotels (sauna, rotemburo with view, ...)
Review 7:A really nice hotel / ryokan in Kagoshima: * helpful and patient staff (limited english) * confy and large rooms (especially the 4p japanse style rooms). * japanese breakfast quality
Review 8:You need to take a taxi everywhere, which they will arrange for you, so it's not really a problem. Our room was basic western built for short people - even the entry door was barely my height. The Japanese rooms looked lovely - we should have thought to ask for one instead.
Review 9:This is a Japanese onsen hotel, so it's a real Japan experience to stay here. The water was definitely out of the ground. Nice Japanese breakfast. The staff speak English and are super helpful.
Review 10:Japanese rooms now a little tired.
Review 11:Excellent food. Great onsen
Review 12:Mone
Review 13:Great food and a great onsen- our fourth visit vans s place we would always go back to in Kagoshima.
Review 14:-
Review 15:So friendly staff! The food - wow! Great expirience!
Review 16:location and staff fantastic
Review 17:Onsen not that nice and too hot. Hotel a bit old and need to be renovated.
Review 18:Very well located hotel. Large room. Nice staff.
Review 19:The hotel is under renovation, so no view from the windows. No noise however.
Review 20:Nice japanese style rooms and excellent breakfast. Good size Onsen.
Review 21:No wifi at all.
Review 22:They upgraded us to a larger room when they saw the size of my boys. Very helpful staff. No issues with English communications.
Review 23:It took me a few nights to adjust to sleeping on the floor matts in the traditional room. Be aware that, while the rooms are a comfortable temperature, the hallways were not air conditioned despite the incredible heat and humidity; this wasn't a serious problem, but it was very disconcerting when I first arrived.
Review 24:I speak no Japanese, and the staff speak little English, but they went out of their way to be exceptionally friendly and helpful to me. The hot springs were lovely, though Americans should know that they are used in the Japanese style: nude, divided by gender, thorough scrubbing before and after.
Review 25:It was all great but the traditional Japanese breakfasts are for theadventurous. The pillows are filled with rice husks, so not exactlysuper soft. The name of the hotel outside is not written in"English" (Romaji) so make a note of the Japanese script!
Review 26:Great onsen (volcano-heated hot spring public bath, separate for men andwomen and under-used) and the traditional Japanese bedrooms with tatamimats and futons are spacious and good value. Nice design featuresthroughout the hotel.
Review 27:- The hotel's Booking.com website lists free internet, but when I came there I found that internet cost 100 yen per 15 minutes! The staff apologized a lot and let me used internet for free in the pc in the lounge. That was nice of them, but the internet was still quite slow and the computer rebooted automatically every 15 minutes- No English-speaking staff (that's common in Japan for small and budget hotels, but that's exactly the case of this hotel)
Review 28:- Very friendly and helpful staff- Charming and spacious Japanese style rooms - Nice and well-equipped bath with the all commodities - Good location close to the main shopping area (Tenmonkan) and within walking distance of the ferry to Sakurajima
Review 29:Nothing!
Review 30:Very helpful staff and one of the warmest hotel onsens we have visited
Review 31:onsen could be run better; no wireless, no internet
Review 32:location is perfect--though a bit off the station area. good breakfast.
