Reviews for Residenza Palazzo Saloni

Review 1:need to improve on the sign that would indicate the name on the hotel when you are driving otherwise great experience

Review 2:location ,friendly staff and good food at the restorant in the hotel.

Review 3:The shower still had some stuff from the previous guests! The hair dryer wouldn't work, the kitchen (I stayed on a flat) houseware looked like trash...

Review 4:Very well located, close to town center.

Review 5:Needs air con/fans in temperatures of 40+ degrees. No hot water for showers and hard to locate owner to correct - she fiddled with the boiler which worked for a moment or two then no hot water for two of the four in our party. She admitted this was a known problem with our apartment. No shower curtain made the tiled bathroom floor lethal. Great to have free parking but very narrow access. Very dirty room - dust everywhere and floors needed sweeping/mopping. No fire alarms/smoke detectors/fire escape - scary on third floor! Lazily run which was a shame as could have been amazing.

Review 6:Large rooms, great views from top floor, excellent location near many great restaurants (don't just settle for the one linked to the apartments), free parking.

Review 7:The guests at the hotel's restaurant were so noisy during the night, couldn't really sleep... This was the only problem. Could be annoying for others: Usually there's nobody at the reception (at arrival we had no idea what to do, there are 2 phone number on the gate 's information board , tried to call both of it, one was out of work, but the other one answered luckily), later we realized you could always find someone to help in their restaurant, which is in the same building, but the restaurant's entrance is on a different corner (street).

Review 8:Very good location, nice and big apartment (called Mammolo) with a nice view on Tuscany's hills. The wifi was only available in our kitchen/living room (no wifi in the room), which was OK for us. Free and safe parking. This is not in the hotel but not to miss in Montalcino: THE WINE BUS MONTALCINO (Artemisia Viaggi) for a Brunello Wine Day Tour. You can visit 2 wineries. Ask for Alicia to guide you... she is the most entertaining and a good driver and guide. Simply the best!

Review 9:Requested baby cot a month before booking with no response. Luckily called the day before and they did not have one for us so we brought our own. Didn't pick up a wifi signal on the top floor, but didn't ask management, they probably could've helped, but we didn't need it. Service was okay.

Review 10:In the heart of Montalcino with free, on-site parking. Ideal for families with the apartment style rooms, separate sleeping areas and restaurant on site. (I will separately review restaurant, but had one phenomenal meal and one a little more disappointing, mainly service related.) Breakfast Italian style, fresh croissants, meat, cheese, eggs one morning, etc. To have the rooms completely renovated would take them out of this price range, they were clean and comfortable and VERY spacious.

Review 11:No one was there for check in and it took a long time for us to figure out to call. No dish soap or dishtowel. Could have been cleaner.

Review 12:great location large room(s) with kitchen free parking warm croissants

Review 13:When we arrived at 9.30 pm, not our choice it's the way public transport works in Italy. There was nobody in reception. Using the information supplied by you we rang the telephone number and got a message saying that the number was unavailable. We also tried going to the restaurant where they were supposed to help until 12pm. It was closed and no amount of knocking could raise anyone. Going round to the back of the property we got in through an open door and got to reception. A search of the cupboard in reception yielded all the room keys , we chose one and settled down for the night. the next morning we actually met the owner, who informed us that the information provided by you was wrong. The self catering facilities included 2 teaspoons, 1glass, 1 dinnerplate and sundry cups without saucers. The contents of the cupboards yielded a bottle of olive oil with a dribble of oil in it. The fridge had 2 half finished bottles of water and that was it. When I have visited other self catering premises ,Tea and coffee left by previous guests is available, just as I left a bottle of cooking oil and tinned tomatoes. It appears that any food left is a perk for staff.

Review 14:Ideal location in Montalcino, easy on-site parking, great breakfast, great value if you can share an apartment with multiple other adults in your group.

Review 15:the living room was always in the dark, no direct sunlight access. the bathroom was at the most 2 square meters and included a small shower the toilet, the sink and a bidè, to many things in a already small toilet. if if my wife would have been pregnant or I would have been overweight we would have not fit into the shower. the restaurant was barely minimal, the breakfast was essential... but i guess this is what value for money means. overall my rating is fair, next time I would definitely book another apartment maybe an "agriturismo" or a villa with more open spaces for children...

Review 16:We stayed in Palazzo saloni for 5 nights. the place has been recently restructured and the facility is well maintained. the Kitchen appliances were fully functional and the furnishing of good quality

Review 17:Bad heater and uncomfortable beds.

Review 18:The staff is not welcoming at all, i was treated very coldly as i was being a nuisance

Review 19:Great location, with parking.

Review 20:Getting to the parking area was difficult with a large van or family vehicle.

Review 21:The view and location are amazing.

Review 22:The place needs air conditioning or ventilators during the summer.

Review 23:Friendly staff

Review 24:Nothing

Review 25:Position wonderful restaurants and food nearby

Review 26:the bathroom .

Review 27:the rooms ,location and the view.

Review 28:Location and comfort of apartment.

Review 29:Thin mattress Traffic during night past my window, we had room facing street

Review 30:Location and facilities in hotel and area

Review 31:Good position, good accomodation. Nice view from the room and terrace and the personnel nice and helpful. Good breakfast . They have parking place.

Review 32:Most of the time no personnel in view (reception unattended); the wifi did not work in the rooms, got one roll of toilet paper and there was nobody around to ask for more. One evening there wasof a power cut when we returned to the hotel: nobody arou ng, no information: later on saw one member of the staff and tried to ask why and how long. The answer was "not my problem".

Review 33:large room with excellent view down the valley

Review 34:The hotel was run on auto pilot. We had no power one night and no hot water in the morning. The staff are the worst I have ever come across. They are never ever around. Don't have breakfast it's disgusting, go and buy it elsewhere. Avoid it at all costs.

Review 35:Absolutely nothing

Review 36:Terrible bathroom. So small you had to step over the bide to get into the shower. The shower was so small you couldn't bend over to wash yourself. The dinner was very average, cold food (should have been hot) and not very nice.

Review 37:Good bedroom + kitchen sitting room. Great view from the bedroom window; really nice.

Review 38:Service and choice at breakfast were rather poor, wifi very low quality, dishes in the kitchen in the apartment were dirty, checkin was quite early

Review 39:Location in the city center and nice view, parking, big apartment

Review 40:The bathrooms need some work. The showers are either too small or the shower/tub in our room was open without a shower curtain. For the top floor room I would recommend placing a rod for a curtain for people who use it as a shower.

Review 41:The location is great. The rooms are always great.

Review 42:Reception and restaurant were closed upon arrival. We went to dinner and came back to see that the office was open because they were expecting other guests. One small roll of toilet paper. We ran out and office was not open to provide. Small staff, poor organization.

Review 43:Excellent location, fanastic view. Large apartment. Free private parking.

Review 44:The Location is perfect! Exactly in the city, just 2min walking to the centre (place is not that big). The place has big parking spaces so there is no problem for that except that the streets are very narrow and it can be a bit difficult to park the car. The rooms are very spacious too!

Review 45:The calm and the beauty of Montalcino; the magnificient, breath-taking view from our windows; the spacious rooms; the friendly staff; the parking facility, which is a must in this small town.

Review 46:Breakfast a bit haphazard. No butter / no milk / no OJ on different mornings.

Review 47:comfortable rooms and great views. The location was excellent for town and getting to sites in tuscany.

Review 48:No

Review 49:awesome response (I ask late check-in - 00:00 am suddenly, hotel very kindly be accepted (suzan) Slient Large parking lots center of city with good view

Review 50:One of the staff smoked all the time and it smelled smoke in the restaurant

Review 51:Location is great. Facilities are great. Decor is beautoful: Has lots of characters and views on the scenery

Review 52:Pillows were a little flat, no extras in the room.....arrived mid-way through breakfast service. Several items were gone and nothing was replenished while we were eating.

Review 53:It's a shame we could only stay one night! Beautiful room!

Review 54:That due to the thick walls, i presume, there was no wifi signal in the room, which was a decisive factor when I chose this hotel

Review 55:The friendliness of the staff

Review 56:Breakfast could have been better. Bread was hard and a new toaster is definatly needed. Fruit juices served in original container and were not cold. All in all though not too bad.

Review 57:Location was great. Staff were friendly although not always around. Apartment great with plenty of room, clean and comfortable.

Review 58:The only missing thing would be the air conditionning or even asmall fan...

Review 59:Excellent location in a very nice small town. Private parking which isvery convenient. Room big enough with all facilities (even a kitchenwhich you do not need). Indeed the top of the top of this place is theexcellent restaurant. And we had dinner an evening the chef was off (andthe landlady was cooking) but still it was the best meal we had on our10 days trip in Tuscany!!!!!! The food was just exquisite!!!!! Do notuse the kitchen, go to the restaurant and enjoy your dinner!!! At a verydecent price, on top of it...

Review 60:No airconditioning in bedrooms across building. The breafast was verypoor! When you arrived after 9am, the buffet was always finished and youhad to ask for everything, even a piece of bread; also never got anyorange juice. Many old items from previous evenings on breakast buffet. When peope are on terrace outside restaurant at night, it is very loudand noisy. Quite expensive area in italy.

Review 61:Nice appartment and parking on site. Walking distance to center ofmontalcino.

Review 62:The room was 20 euros more than reservation online

Review 63:The rooms are wonderfully decorated and very clean and comfortable. You can have breakfast on the terrace and enjoy the views from the typical Toskana.Parkingat is free. You can do a wine tour of the region and sample the famous Brunello di Montalcino /Thursday, Friday and Saturday/ Iliyana and Roumy from Bulgaria

Review 64:No complaints with this hotel except for small shower which is usual in Italian hotels and really not a good fit for a man who is 6 ft. 3 inches tall and weighs 235 lb.

Review 65:We used this hotel for 3 nights while sightseeing in this part of Tuscany. Had a "one-bedroom apartment which had a sleeper sofa in a kitchen-sitting area and could well accommodate a couple with two children. Very well suited to longer stays in a very attractive area. Good value for money relative to most other hotels we used.

Review 66:The beds were fold out couches and not very comfortable. We were toldthere was a wedding one the second night of our stay and I don'tknow why we were lied to but it turned out to be a celebration of asports win - very loud and people were knocking at our door in the earlymorning hours. Plus, we did not receive any sort of compensation for thelack of parking that was supposed to be included in the package.

Review 67:Big rooms with a nice kitchen, middle of the town so good location andvery clean.

Review 68:Wonderful location in beautiful Montalcino. Secure parking in the middle of town. Beautiful apartment with an amazing view of the Tuscan countryside. We ended up eating at the restaurant in the hotel; it was great. Very local and fresh food. They even make their own family wines. Breakfast was also very good.

Review 69:Driving in the village is tough and we passed up the hotel quite easily, while it has a sign, it sneaks up on you and we had to leave the village, drive around and head back through due to one way streets. This is of course not their fault but readers should keep an eye out for the place.

Review 70:Amazing rooms! The room was massive for just two people. The hotel is very pretty and the breakfast was huge and varied. Friendly staff. Excellent on site parking (tight turns to get to it so do not rent a large car!)

Review 71:Wi-fi did worked only in the lobby and breakfast room, but there is 24 hour access to the lobby.

Review 72:The 2 bedroom apartment we rented had a well equipped kitchen that we used a couple times to prepare meals. The balcony overlooking the Tuscan countryside was our favorite part. There was plenty of space for a group of 5 to spread out. Breakfast spread was varied and filling, served between 8-10am, more food earlier in that time frame. Choice of meats, cheeses, cold eggs, yogurt, pastries, cappuccino. The staff was helpful with travel plans. We did like this place and would return here again.

Review 73:A few minor things only, it may have just been an off day. The floors in our suite were beautiful wood but they were very dusty, I had to sweep. There was no room service so our garbage wasn't emptied. They don't supply any dish soap or wiping cloths...weird for a kitchenette. The woman that owns and runs it is not overly friendly, she does most of everything, so I think she's probably just tired. It is a great place, location and food are a huge plus!!

Review 74:This is a great hotel. The rooms have amazing views!! Our room was huge with a kitchenette that was very comfortable.Lovely bathroom facilities. They provide a fabulous breakfast with an enormous selection. Excellent location, right near the centre.

Review 75:Staff were super helpful and friendly. Accommodations were spacious, clean. We had a super view from our bedroom window. The free parking is a major perk in Montalcino. The in house restaurant had great food, reasonably priced. My wife and I would highly recommend staying here.

Review 76:Located in the old Pallazzo, very nice hotel. We had the big apartment with the bedrom and full-equipped kitchen and dining room. The big spacious parking, good breakfast. Because our room was in the last floor, we hadn't wifi, but had a fantastic view.

Review 77:Most unbeliaveble city I ever seen, 4minutes walking You can Get To anyplace You want, the hotel follows the medieval Style of the city, butreally confortable, godo breakfest.

Review 78:The staff is hard to find at times. I always had to wonder around the hotel and restaurant till I found someone. Also maybe I missed something but we were there for 3 nights and our room was never cleaned nor were fresh towels brought the entire trip. That is fine if we knew in advance but we expected it daily as one usually does at a hotel and this did not occur. We did ask for more clean towels one night and they did provide us with clean towels.

Review 79:The location is excellent. There is a large parking area. The rooms are large and nicely equiped. The breakfast is always nicely prepared.

Review 80:Touring the family winery, location, views Great place would stay again.

Review 81:The building was in a great location but noisy vehicle traffic during the night.

Review 82:great location and friendly staff.

Review 83:Loved Residenza Palazzo! Easy parking, amazing food, perfect location for Montalcino! The rooms were clean, quaint, with a wonderful view!

Review 84:No air conditioning!!!!

Review 85:Location, large apt, nice receptionist

Review 86:The parking is a great advantage but it for smaller cars...

Review 87:Nice place close to all attractions.

Review 88:Very nice and friendly staff. Beautiful apartment with wonderful views from the balcony and located just at the centre

Review 89:The dinner wasn't great although the pecorino flan/soufflé was delicious.

Review 90:Amazing position and friendly staff. Apartment was clean and huge.

Review 91:Easy access with parking

Review 92:Location, parking, room with separate living/dining room. Beautiful building.

Review 93:Noisy road (ground floor room), tiny shower (hardly to change a step or to turn around).

Review 94:Good location, private parking.

Review 95:Location is great. Parking on location. Staff was nice

The Fine Print
