Reviews for Mövenpick Resort & Spa Tala Bay Aqaba

Review 1:The Moevenpick Resort was the perfect location for a family with a small child. The kidsclub is super, with plenty of things to do. The whole resort is spacious, well maintained and staff is extremely friendly. I can definitely recommend this place and we will be back for sure.

Review 2:Heated swimming pool need serious maintenance- lots of loose and missing tiles was a serious hazard. For a hotel in the middle east, it is crucial that any non-halal food is clearly marked. We had Christmas log that contained alcohol. We were alerted by other guests and in the end we had to call the main chef who confirmed that the Christmas cakes did contain alcohol which cause a huge confusion.

Review 3:Amazing staff- very caring housekeeping. Housekeepers did some amazing 3D animals with our bath towels under my request and made the day for my kids and wife. Jacuzzi-awesome! Qiblah direction in rooms-very important

Review 4:The room was not clean upon arrival. I reserved a pool view room and what I had was not a pool view. No bath tub and no bathroom Roop in the room.

Review 5:I liked the staff cooperation and their willing to help The breakfast was good

Review 6:The pillows are too soft to hold a shape unlike comfortable home pillows which make them hard to adapt to immediatly.

Review 7:The gardening work is certainly first class.

Review 8:I spent about 45 minutes continuously trying to call guest service center for a water refill with no avail, then I ordered charged from dining in. Receptionists are not so genial.

Review 9:House Keeping is very good, and the employees responsible for it are professional, polite, and cheerful. Valet, concierge, waiters and security are professional and friendly.

Review 10:The Italian restaurant pasta and buffet breakfast food wasn't the best but good, or expected for a large resort. The pool was amazing, but the water was cool when we visited November 2015. There was a heated pool on the side. The Jacuzzi was great but a little cold for my taste.

Review 11:The pool was great. The overall facility is beautiful. The Belly Dancer was fun to watch.

Review 12:The price of the meals and the price of the boat trip to go snorkelling. I don't like the way you advertise a price then add a 10% compulsory service charge. A hotel provides a service for a price. The extra 10% is sneaky.

Review 13:Really helpful staff. Absolutely fantastic!

Review 14:the pillows were a bit not comfortable

Review 15:I like the overall feeling of the place , i had a garden view not a pool view but it was exactly what i needed for the kids to run and play safely

Review 16:One of the best hotels we have ever stayed in. we were sorry we could only stay for 2 nights and that the weather was quite strange for Jordan (thunderstroms and heavy rain)

Review 17:The only time we had a problem was I waited over an hour for an iron to be brought to our room.

Review 18:The facilities were excellent, very good attentive staff

Review 19:I didn't like reception stuff was very negative because once I arrived I asked them that I sent an email as special request but they ignore my request. moreover I asked the girl receptionist that if possible to give me pool view room and she told me that I will give you good room and once I arrived to the room it was not pool view and in the 3rd floor not ground floor and I returned back to her and told her it's not as you told me and its not a superior room and it's not same as the picture in the website but her answered was that this is the superior room and there is no available room in pool view. moreover my special request to put slides fruit and type of sweets and other issues just was lied.

Review 20:The stay was good and the location is very nice , breakfast is good

Review 21:We were upgraded to the suite because the other rooms with king sizebeds were "unfortunately" overbooked. The room was fantastic! The bed actually overlooked the sea and was incredibly comfortable.

Review 22:The philipino receptionist was kind of rude. Lied about room reserved not available then said it is being cleaned. We waited about 90 minutes to get the room.

Review 23:I liked the beach and overall the hotel.

Review 24:Expensive, and we were a 15 minute $20 taxi ride from the town so we had to eat in the resort. The food was good but expensive. And a bottle of water cos $6,

Review 25:The staff upgraded us to a Seaview room. Lovely pools, very good dive centre

Review 26:That prices of food are very expensive, they should make full board packages, the beach is very dangours as its not clean, they can put sandy beach (3 out 6 of us have been injured by rocks), also no regular shuttle to the city, they should increase the number of trips from to hotel/city

Review 27:I like the size of the family rooms, variety of pools

Review 28:cleaned room, comfortable, new furnished the staff were very cute, handsome ,... I love them beautiful views nice swimming pool its good place to spend nice time with your friends & family its very safe place

Review 29:dirty rooms, consumed wood furniture, consumed tiles in rooms and bathrooms, very hard to open door windows, no WIFI in rooms, very expensive dinner buffet 58 USD per person, very weak room minibar

Review 30:we like pools, landscape, beach, very good A/C

Review 31:To let people wait to 3 o'clock for the check in.no enough tideness and no enough towels.slow response from room services to support us with things that should be in the room before our chick in.

Review 32:I like most the location and facilities and the sea side place.

Review 33:When you order food by the adult pool, you receive it as if it were a takeout meal... food was good though 20 minutes from Aqaba itself Diving is ok, but not wow (Egypt part is better)

Review 34:Lovely pools, amongst which an adult pool, which was great. Rooms are nice, spacious and with comfy beds Lovely breakfast buffet!

Review 35:breakfast too crowded. terrible and very expensive Italian restaurant

Review 36:beautiful hotel designed with character, swimming pool and beach were great, beautiful room and balcony

Review 37:The beggining part wasn't that great since the porter forgot about our luggage. The front desk wasn't helpful so we had to go out to seek the luggage by ourselves.

Review 38:Enormous swimming pools were just great for kids to play. The private beach was easy to access and clean. Kids had so much fun.

Review 39:Perfect location. This is the place to go in Aqaba. The kids enjoyed the pools from morning till evening. It was an excellent stay and if we have the opportunity to go back, we will do.

Review 40:Buffet Dinner not taste Bad relating to price

Review 41:Thanks very much to Amjad Abu Tahoun (Front Desk Manager) . he is a good presonality and problem solving. Thanks again Mr Amjad. Ameen Hassanieh

Review 42:Terrible staff training. You go ask for a drink they say they can't give you one to take to the beach!! Staff at reception very rude be abrupt Security staff at the front are rude too. Never see. A staff member smiling or welcoming

Review 43:Abundance of pools Great beach Good facilities Night events

Review 44:breakfast, the beach is full of hard rocks and animals!! Like the echinus I stepped on :( the party should be free like the dead sea to gather more guests to be more joyful.

Review 45:I liked the staff and their smily faces with guests, the beach being open till the morning

Review 46:The food is plentiful and diverse but its taste is not more than good

Review 47:We loved the Hotel's location. You come out of a snorkeling or diving trip and can get immediately into the pool. The service was excellent: Sinai Diver's club staff, water sport staff, Nada and Apple at the reception, and the cleaning staff .

Review 48:The pools are not always clean :( lots of leaves, bugs, and foam (been told its from cleaning chimicals). The beach is very small and you are allowed to swim in a very small space due to the corals which i dont mind but i only spoted the lifegaurd once which makes me feel unsafe. The hotel grant free access to custemers from the other hotel and paid access for 30jd. Which i feel was annoying since it over crowded the pools and aminities with young men and kids. The food is good but the bufet is very limitid. They have live pwrformances but we couldnt attwnd any since the canceled them due to low occupancy (our luck). I suggest revisiting the beverage and food prices on the beach and pool area.

Review 49:The staff are very friendly the rooms are clean and spacies. The views are good and the landscape is lovely

Review 50:Staff are overworked and requests e.g. additional pillows take HOURS. Buffet breakfast was complete chaos with queues for glasses, juice, omelettes, breads etc and was completely overrun by unsupervised children.

Review 51:The location and imaginative swimming pool designs were very good - especially for families.

Review 52:long time for check in and check out although mini bar was complementary but we had to ask to provide Value for money is a bit high

Review 53:location and swimming pools are amazing Breakfast is super good with many varieties

Review 54:The room is very far from the lobby also their is not enough elevators as my room was on the 3rd floor also no enough towels nor baby cot in the room .breakfast very crowded not enough tables dishes glasses

Review 55:Many pools

Review 56:Overpriced dinner, lunch and drinks. And lack of alternatives Unprofessional massage therapist

Review 57:Free wifi Good service by staff 9 outdoor pools Cleanness of hotel

Review 58:The room bed seemed like it was used and ash tray had remains of cigarettes butts stunk with cigarettes smell. Latest check out at 1200 max? Room service could better cleaning job. Room door was hard to close as metal frame at the bottom was stuck to the floor tiles. They could use more slides in the swimming pools, one slide is not enough for the number of kids.

Review 59:The quality of food in general and the variety of food in the breakfast buffet. The cleanliness of the facilities and number of swimming pools and slides. The water rides like jet skiing and floating couch dragging.

Review 60:From the first minute the receptionist was very dry, I asked him for a place to plug in my phone charger to show him my booking confirmation because there were a few problems his response was "Theres nowhere to charge here" i then walked 2 metera a nd found an electricity plug charged my phone for 2 minutes, by that time he was gone.

Review 61:Booking was not easy with Movenpick themselves, had to use an agent and pay a lot more than expected.

Review 62:Beautiful gardens and scenery. Friendly and helpful staff. Best Hotel ever

Review 63:- Bad and dirty beach not even 2 stars beach. - Room very far from beach - No enough variation in the breakfast - Rud stuff around the pools

Review 64:Receiption stuff are great

Review 65:Attitude of the front dest manager, Silva Bad service Staff doesnt answer the phone most of the time If anything is requested it takes ages to be served

Review 66:There was a fight amogest a group of drunk guys that continued for an hour and adults as well as kids were exposed to verbal and visual violance. No acceptable at all. There is no proper security at the hotel.

Review 67:Pool Restaurent. The Staff were helpful and especailly a guy called Abdullah. He was really a star. The food was great as well.

Review 68:Some pools are dirty. Cleaning of rooms fair . To pay money for water. Receptinists dont now the facilities in ramadan . We heard that no facilities in ramadan .

Review 69:One pool

Review 70:Delay in getting an extra bed, no triple rooms.

Review 71:The facilities, cleanliness, beach, pools, delicious food with several restaurants and cafes, Staff are very helpful and welcoming in all areas and there was the free mini bar.

Review 72:We received a smoking room located in the back of the hotel - it took almost 2 days to get a non-smoking one. Ice-machine not working. Smelly bathroom

Review 73:The hotel facilities are great, but rooms are pretty standard.

Review 74:Very poor service in the cafe and bar,and i believe its a wrong desicion to make 16years old people during weekends while people are coming to relax and enjoy

Review 75:Room furniture and space is great

Review 76:A lot of families in the weekend in the buffet restaurant! We choose the Italian restaurent, which was very good!

Review 77:The comfort was great! We enjoyed the up grade very much!

Review 78:There are not a lot of food options and they are expensive. I recommend the mezze at the pool to share for two for a light lunch.

Review 79:We were two couples. We enjoyed having the dive shop right on site. Not cheap but convenient and very well run. The house reef just off the beach is lovely. The pools are great and one is open till 10pm. The Italian restaurant is good food, stiff service but nice staff. We wanted to stay longer as we felt relaxed and had plenty to do. The water slide is a must!

Review 80:Worried with prices with taxes etc . while EUR had been down it makes it unfortunately quite expensive.

Review 81:Welcome , landscape , passion of staff ,Always very pleasant ,professional

Review 82:We had to change room the first evening (due to a deep pool of water having formed from heavy rain) which rather spoilt things.

Review 83:Pools, breakfast, wifi, snorkelling trip

Review 84:- The breakfast is not diverse enough, it's better in the Radisson BLU. - My booking was include a baby and It toke hours to provide me with a baby cot after asking many time to provide it.

Review 85:the room and the hotel facilities.

Review 86:Check in problematic - acknowledged early check in but didn't have a non-smoking (also specified) room ready. We were asked to "sit and wait 10 minutes". Ordered a pizza at the Italian restaurant. Absolutely the worst pizza I've had. Soggy, sent back to cook some more, still soggy. Condiments piled on as if quantity was the aim. The egg chef at breakfast had a big thumb - used to hold the cheese on the spoon as well as to place almost on the centre of the plate prior to dishing the omelette. Buildings starting to look tatty. We are expats in Jordan, but won't go back to this hotel

Review 87:Tala Bay location was great

Review 88:We went in February so missed out on Snorkelling in the Red Sea as well as availing of the nice poolside activities.

Review 89:A range of choices to dine or drink in. Superb outdoor facilities and superb staff.

Review 90:We thought the spa was somehow included in the price. Looking back, perhaps the Aqaba center Mövempick would have been better value as it was cheaper and you could get to the spa by shuttle.

Review 91:It is a really nice resort area. Huge pools, beatuful beach and you can get to the Tala bay marina resort are by walking to the beach. What you would expect from 4 to 5 star resort.

Review 92:Pools were too cold to swim in December as was the sea. Only heated pool was full of children. Hot tubs were only luke warm (one was 34 other was 36) so not really worth hanging out in.

Review 93:Very aesthetically pleasing staff are very friendly great location

Review 94:30km away fron Aqaba in the middle of nothing. The clean level is for an arabic hotel and do not correspondens with the 5stars of the complex.

Review 95:Nice spa complex. It is having all the facilities you can imagine for a spa hotel. Good service.

Review 96:The building project to double the size of the hotel; which is momentarily on hold as there are less tourists visiting Aqaba, but still when it is eventually completed the hotel will be much busier.

Review 97:We had a fantastic stay at this charming hotel. The staff were all extremely friendly, the place was spotless, and we really felt we were well looked after. The children also had a great time, though we didnt use the children's facilities, the table tennis table, and water slide were a huge success. It helped that the hotel was relately quiet, Id say maybe 40-50% capacity. It is nicely spread out, and goes just upto 3 floors; We had the family deluxe room, which meant we had a view of the sea, but to be honest just the basic family room would have been fine as the only differrence is location, and the normal room faces inwards or on the sides, and I dont think warants paying more for. I'd advise anyone to try and get a room in the southwing as then you're closest to the sea. We will defineately go back.

Review 98:the main pool with the slides the floor is peeling off. and it has not been fixed for number of years now., also the Jacuzzi is not hot enough , the Price of every thing is very high. but I have to also admit that they are clean . the Beach side is full of rocks that makes it very hard to access , and it contain a lot of rubbish. , it is not safe to swim far in the deep water due to the sky jets around all the place. make sure to do your reservation throgh booking only, I had a problem last time and booked 4 days in the same place, and due to some work problems I had to request to cancel two days, the hotel refused , but booking make them accept and end up with all I want, really thanks for booking, I really remember the help of Mr. Charls from England office. he was very helpful

Review 99:I have been too many times to Aqaba, that is the only hotel I go to., there is lots to do but it cost also lots of money so it is costly. but you really enjoy most of your time. the games they make is good on the beach side , free place for kids monitoring and many other features. the breakfast buffet is very good. and the service is very professional.

Review 100:it was all nice

Review 101:staff led by manager Mr. Feras were great, also Ms. Apple. We ordered cake for my daughter and it was awesome...very friendly , nice pools for kids, beach was amazing...nice snorkelling

Review 102:Italian restaurant was amazing with a skilled super friendly chef. Staff in general r friendly and helpful. Swimming pools r great. Stick to grills only from the pool restaurant, it is the best available choice.

Review 103:location price bfast is generous and looks amazing but a bit disapointed by taste...but it's really a detail

Review 104:swimming pools overall setting staff bfast generous and varied Movenpick ice creams everywhere :-)

Review 105:I spent my 5 days holiday in the resort, everything was perfect. Me, my wife and my two children enjoyed every moment while stsying there. The service is wonderful, the food is so delicious, the relaxing environment. Till now, i frankly did not spent such a beautiful time like this time. No words how to say thanks, simply awsome.

Review 106:But I did not accept the idea of not finding a shower hose in the receipt ion toilet. Specially in the ladies rest room.

Review 107:I like the facilities and the wifi available every where. The employees

Review 108:Hotel quite expensive in terms of value for money, but compare to rates in Jordan its good, other countries (like sharm) much cheaper. Booking through booking.com doesnt really give you much difference than rate on front desk. If you're a couple or looking for nice party time, I think you may not enjoy this hotel much, its quite family resort with kids playing around, plus there is no face control or so that controls guys behavior. finally, there is activities within the hotel in the evening nor for kids or adults as well.

Review 109:It is a gr8 family resort, staff are very helpful. especially front desk and reception, Silva and Nada, many thanks for their gr8 hospitality. Hotel is clean and decent

Review 110:The breakfast area didn't like it . The waffles doesn't taste good the area smells like egg the quality of food is poor the room was very dirty the bin was not change all of my entier stay , the sheets looks not been changed or washed .

Review 111:I like the pool area the diving centre and the pool restaurant

Review 112:Food and drink on site are very expensive. Either come with an open wallet and recklessly ignore the financial damage, or stay somewhere else.

Review 113:Wonderful, luxurious, glorious, phenomenal, and additional adjectives.

Review 114:I have been last year in the hotel, almost same room Room accessories were different and no need to ask for simple facilities (tissues, slippers, bathrobe, cleanliness, and soap, and the big problem the towels .....) Little are solved, rest are not Breakfast materials quality deteriorated Breakfast's staff harsh, unfriendly, I saw two of them shouted with customers, except those black ladies was smiley and helpful (sorry for racial expression) Extending reservation for one day was a mission Swimming pool unclean, not that of 5 stars at all One more thing was alarming, at weekend the attendee and people around the swimming pools was so different and it seems to be a kind of common pool!!! Thank you

Review 115:still good but not as presumed

Review 116:Bad service, not proffisinal staff, ignorance, manger was more unprofessional even more than the staff. Location is very far from the city. And again staff were very rude.

Review 117:The facilities were good

Review 118:Gave us a wrong room, when new room was assigned, took almost an hour to get the door access cards to work. When we complained to the manager, he apologized and upgraded us to a suite!

Review 119:Responsive management when a complaint is raised! Plus the hotel is beautifully located, great pools around plus the beach and water sport activities

Review 120:They missed to put shampoo and soap when we checked into the room, only conditioners and body lotions, no bathrobe, no home slippers(usually they do). So it's seems like if staff doesn't think it is necessary they don't put it. However we got it all in 10 mins after phone call. Also, I can't say room was dirty, but it was not clean enough. There were a dust, floor was in white lines and sand because it was washed that way. Mirrors where in same matt lines and spots.

Review 121:This is the most green hotel in Jordan! Best one and nicest one. Of course there are many things could be better(see below in dislikes), but in Aqaba it is the best option you can find. Staff is always friendly and helpfull.

Review 122:Room was very comfortable, breakfast was lovely.

Review 123:Staff were really kind, room was very nice and clean. We were particularly grateful for the free room upgrade.

Review 124:No sea view

Review 125:Breakfast.

Review 126:Location was out of town, food was meh! and indoor smoking was everywhere.

Review 127:Awesome place, family friendly!

Review 128:the staff, confort and value for money are excelent

Review 129:The hospitality is just exceptional. They more than make you feel at home. They are prompt to respond to your needs and very accommodating as well.

Review 130:The rooms cleaning is not matching other services level.

Review 131:The facilities, restaurants team & breakfast.

Review 132:Nothing.

Review 133:Everything about this hotel is amazing. The room was spacious, clean and the balcony was extraordinary.

Review 134:You must Add closed swimming pool to be suitable in the cold days like this days from date

Review 135:Everything is great

Review 136:far away from town

Review 137:the stuff,

The Fine Print
