Reviews for Covo dei Saraceni
Review 1:We felt so comfortable at check -in . It is an easy hotel to find, great location, great breakfast and extremely helpful staff(spoke English) They were also very helpful with finding spot to park our car.We had a beautiful room overlooking the sea and statue
Review 2:I had requested a room with a sea view & balcony, I booked a room in the annex which is a building across the road from the main hotel. When we checked in I enquired about the sea view to be told that room had a lateral Seaview. I needed to stretch my neck to look up the street to see a glimpse of the sea at end of street. I had to pay extra to upgrade to Superior room in main hotel building in order to get a room with full sea view.
Review 3:The location overlooking the sea but you need to make sure you get a room to the seafront. The food in the restaurant was excellent with excellent service
Review 4:Standard rooms are claustrophobic. We upgraded to the next level, which was good, with a nice terrace. Bathroom was small and shower didn't function well. Erratic internet connection in room was frustrating.
Review 5:Location. Very pleasant hotel environment. Acceptable breakfast.
Review 6:See above
Review 7:Location is perfect, but rooms are tiny and lack furniture: no night tables, no chest of drawers, no place to put small pieces of clothing in a "superior room" -- we had to switch to a "suite" and pay 50% more
Review 8:Room too hot. Air Conditioning not working. Asked for three days and each day was promised it would be fixed. Safe did not work, again three days later the same. No one really bothered. The head waiter made my wife look like a total idiot because she wanted a primi course for a secondi. Totally unnessasary. I've been treated better in a transport cafe.
Review 9:Position very good. Nice room. Food good.
Review 10:I paid 40E for parking for 2 nights before the hotel attendant told me the parking was free 24/7 30 feet away from the front door. Gee, I saved 40 Euro for the last 2 nights.
Review 11:Beautiful view.
Review 12:--Suite in the first level of the annexe was a very standard room with poor air conditioning. -very noisy surroundings on a Saturday evening with gathering of people all night long under our room window. -taking breakfast on the terrace requires a 10€/person supplement with the result of a beautiful but unnecessarily empty outside terrace.
Review 13:-Location close to city center and on the best known bay of Polignano.
Review 14:The hotel is wildly overpriced for somewhere so dated. The bed was too singles pushed together ... in a 'suite' that was definitely just a largish double.
Review 15:The hotel is in a lovely location and we had a great lunch in the restaurant.
Review 16:First impressions always count. On arrival the staff were not friendly or welcoming, and this continued for our stay. I asked if I could sit outside, perhaps have a drink on the terrace. Was told no the restaurant was closed. I could go to another area and they would arrange a sunbed for me. What a disappointment. The beds were put on a dirty terrace, (looked like it hadn't been finished), without a sun shade. We have driven round Italy for two weeks and this is the most disappointing hotel we have stopped in. What a shame for Italy. Every other hotel has been wonderful.
Review 17:The town was very interesting.
Review 18:Our bedroom had three balconies all with fantastic views. Helpful staff and spotlessly clean. Beautiful dining room and breakfast room with great food.
Review 19:A €5 pp cover charge in the restaurant was a sting in the tail to an otherwise good meal. Our suite (111) was very overpriced for what was a tiny room with small anteroom where we put our suitcases and a large but charmless terrace and pool. Very much a hotel for tour groups.
Review 20:The location was excellent - perched on the cliff top and a short stroll from the pebbly beach and the old town.
Review 21:Power failure on our day of departure which meant we had no electricity or running water
Review 22:Fantastic restaurant, we had a table on the terrace overlooking the cove, a truly stunning location.
Review 23:Shower/ Bath very - too - small, but the very annoying thing is the acoustic level. You hear literally everything above, next door and below your room when you try sleeping it's incredible
Review 24:personell is extremely friendly
Review 25:The cooked breakfast could be improved on and the fruit juices better quality.
Review 26:The location of the hotel is excellent and the hotel's proximity to the to the town and all the lovely restaurants and bars is excellent
Review 27:The internal walls seem to be paper-thin. After 3 peaceful nights, the room next door was occupied and the television on the party wall was so loud it kept me awake. And beware if you're on a romantic break, I could hear far more than I wished to from next door!
Review 28:The location is superb, overlooking the eponymous cove on one side and the Adriatic on the other. The building is beautiful, well maintained and spotless, and the staff are friendly and attentive. The restaurant is excellent value, especially considering the location. The 35 Euro 4 course menu, including wine, water and a free glass of prosecco defeated me entirely.
Review 29:nothing.
Review 30:very nice hotel perched on the cliff tops with lots of charm and character. Our room was very spacious with 3 separate balconies all offering a different aspect over the sea, old town and the "volare" statue and each one had either sun loungers or table and chairs. the location is very good for access to the old town centre, the small beach and for places to eat. The reception area has sofas and a small bar. Breakfast was varied and lovely views from the breakfast room. We didnt eat in the restaurant but it looked very nice, although expensive.Very relaxing stay.
Review 31:The bathroom had no shower curtain and as a result the floor continually got wet.
Review 32:Fantastic views. Well located for day trips. The food in the restaurant was very good and reasonable. The breakfast was good.
Review 33:Facilities were not of a standard we expected for the price. There wasn't any local information available to help us make the most of the area. Bathroom was strange. The bath couldn't be used as a bath and the shower attachment sprayed water all over the floor. It would have been nice to have a drink on the terrace and relax and enjoy the view. But we were not allowed and the roof terrace was a bit bleak.
Review 34:Good position. Cleaning staff were very friendly and thorough. Very helpful chap took our car on arrival as car park was full and parked it in the hotel car park overnight . He kindly found us a space in the free park early next morning. Breakfast was good and views from breakfast room were lovely.
Review 35:Hotel situated on a beautiful cove of the Adriatic sea, in a very beautiful small town, within reach of many other amenities. The service and the food was great. What more can you ask for.
Review 36:It was a bit a shame because despite the good points we didn't feel like at home as it's a big hotel and the service is not really personalized (when we asked for some place to eat or to go we didn't get any suggestions). Moreover, it's a bit expensive for the quality of the service.
Review 37:The position was really great as well as the view from the room. The breakfast is great with a lot of choice and view of the sea. The room was clean.
Review 38:The room was very dated. The bathroom had a jacuzzi tub with a showerattachment. The absence of a shower curtain meant that we and thebathroom floor took daily showers. Thankfully the towels, which alsodoubled as mops, were replenished daily.
Review 39:The location is ideal and is a short walk to the most popular sites, shops, bars and restaurants. The hotel is staffed with warm and friendlypeople who are all happy and willing to assist. The breakfast buffet wasvery comprehensive and the views from the dining room - justspectacular. The valet parking, although pricey, came in quite handy
Review 40:That we had to leave. :(
Review 41:Prime location and views of the cove. Attentive service and excellent cuisine. Clean, comfortable, spacious room with every amenity. Staff can't do enough to please you! Excellent value.
Review 42:Be aware minimal English spoken .. no need as holiday location for Italians .... opportunity to improve Italian.. Would recommend hiring car to explore surrounding areas..for example ...train service good but need train to Minopoli (5 minute journey) to connect to limited bus service to access Alberobello ...
Review 43:Strengths ..coffee fantastico...views bellissimo!! location ideal .. near old town... restaurant ..menu mainly sea food ..excellent..tourist information most helpful to maximise local events ..tour of old town well conducted ..can highly recommend..
Review 44:The location is spectacular. The staff are lovely. The hotel food is exceptional - a destination restaurant in itself
Review 45:Superb location and wonderful, helpful staff.
Review 46:annex rooms are small and claustrohobic
Review 47:great location
Review 48:The one thing that would have made this place perfect would have been a swimming pool. Apart from that it was perfect.
Review 49:Nothing in particular.
Review 50:Location and Staff courtesy
Review 51:The location was excellent, and the hotel had a lovely view.
Review 52:Price
Review 53:NO complains
Review 54:Received an upgrade on the room since we did not really have a balcony for our room as described..very friendly staff
Review 55:My original room-for 150 Euro per night-a rip off.
Review 56:Breakfast was quite good.
Review 57:la vista sul parcheggio. Non me lo aspettavo., anche se subito dietro c'era il mare
Review 58:Ristorante vista mare
Review 59:Difficult to reach parking because of many one ways and very small streets.
Review 60:It was early in the season so the hotel wasn't 100% ready to recieve guests.
Review 61:Beautiful location. Nice rooms.
Review 62:A wonderful town and great hotel location. The staff was great and always very cordial and helpful. The breakfast was very good.
Review 63:Great great great
Review 64:location restaurant helpful staff
Review 65:Fantastic bedroom, very spacious with a gorgeous view.
Review 66:Breakfast was adequate, but nothing to write home about
Review 67:Room had 3 balconies, you could be in the sun all day
Review 68:The room (2nd one) View Location Facilities
Review 69:The room would have required a bit better cleaning and the minibar should have more options that beer and fizzy drinks.
Review 70:The hotel has a wonderful location right next to a beautiful bay in Polignano a Mare. The rooms are very spacious and ours had three terraces overlooking the sea which was great. If you are a fan of Italian sea food and fish dishes do not miss the a-la-cart restaurant of the hotel. It's a fantastic culinary experience.
Review 71:Not much space in the room for clothes, but the location far outweighed that inconvenience.
Review 72:The views are spectacular from our balcony and in the breakfast and dining rooms. Also appreciated the clothes rack on the terrace.
Review 73:Wonderful location and views. Hotel is in easy walking distance to the historical center. All rooms have a view of the Adriatic from the window or balcony. Polignano a Mare is close to several of the area's best sites. The restaurant has superb service and well prepared cousine.
Review 74:Pity they took the hot tubs away at the end of September, but the bubble bath in the room was ample compensation.
Review 75:The hotel is in a terrific location and all aspects of staying there were to out liking. The nearby old town centre is beautiful too.
Review 76:Location was excellent and the room in the annex was really nice.Restaurant was average and as we had dinner a Saturday night, itwas really busy. Otherwise good service and appreciated help topark the car.
Review 77:Around the hotel was super loud. At night people voices and elevatorsound and also in the morning people throw fireworks after fireworkslocal school band past in front of hotel at 7.30. ANd when we arrive thehotel room there was ladder in the room, and broken mini bar door.
Review 78:Only the view was good but the hotel was fully booked so we only sawview from breakfast room.
Review 79:No restaurant facilities.
Review 80:Lovely scenic location in an old fort which has been converted. Ate at the local restaurant which was excellent.
Review 81:Room in a depended location in front of the hotel. Reception cool. Do Saraceni not say good morning?
Review 82:Classical comfort. Clean.
Review 83:Poor breakfast with minimum selections
Review 84:Great location, beautiful view, spacious room, good restaurant on site
Review 85:The separated building is very noisy, some rooms are dark, with view ont the street. Wouldn't go return to that hotel.
Review 86:The location of the hotel
Review 87:Staff, location, cleanliness and breakfast.
Review 88:nothing
Review 89:location,very helpful staff and its very clean.food is amazing.

Review 91:Situation, service & priceI am quite happy with the hotel
Review 92:Romantic and nice hotel. Excelent food in the restaurant.. Perfect for adults..
Review 93:Spa was very good but was told 80 euro for an hour and only got40 minutes ?
Review 94:Nice clean friendly hotel, very close to the centre
Review 95:The hotel is crying out for a swimming pool.
Review 96:The view from our room was very good and the fact we had two balconies and a day room.
