Reviews for Suite d'Artista

Review 1:Nothing.

Review 2:The apartment is lovely, we really enjoyed spending time there. It's large, furnitured with taste and it has all conforts you may need. Location in good in the heart of old city. Staff is kind and at disposal.

Review 3:I guess the only thing we didn't love was that the apartments are at the bottom of the hill and were a little difficult to find at first. Andrea had to come find us in the town center and lead us down to find the place. Also, it's a steep uphill walk to town so if you're not very mobile, I'd recommend staying higher up. Still, we pushed a stroller up the hills and got a good workout!

Review 4:The studio was comfortable, pretty and had all the amenities we wanted for our stay with a small child. The grounds were very pretty and I'm sure we would have hung out outside in the evening more had it not been so cold this past weekend! Federica and Andrea were very nice and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay!

Review 5:GPS directions weren't accurate. Worth emailing Lisa for information if driving a car in. As with everywhere in Montalcino, and due to this property's location at the bottom of a hill, the steep hills and stairs can be difficult if not used to walking or in poor shape.

Review 6:We loved everything about our stay at Suite d'Artista! Lisa was incredibly helpful from the start - GPS directions pointed us to a closed road (that had been closed for some time), so a few of us ventured to the hotel and Lisa was able to give us directions on how to get the van and our luggage to the property. She personally checked us into our very well-appointed rooms, and continued to provide great service during our short stay in Montalcino. The grounds of Suite d'Artista are stunning and we loved walking through the gardens and checking out the pools. Other perks - breakfast snacks, including coffee, yogurt, and juice, are stocked in each apartment; free parking on-site and parking passes to use in other lots in Montalcino; free WiFi. On the day of our departure, Lisa and Andrea used their personal cars to drive our heavy luggage up the very steep hills in the rain so we didn't have to navigate the narrow streets and sharp turns - we appreciated this gesture more than they know. When we return to Montalcino, for more than 2 nights next time, we will absolutely consider staying here again!

Review 7:GPS won't find this property correctly. The hill and the parking lot are difficult to maneuver. If you are out of shape, walking up hill to town may be difficult.

Review 8:Lisa is an amazing hostess and goes out of her way to help. Riddell apartment has tons of space and is pure heaven. The garden has plenty of places to sit and is incredibly peaceful. Parking pass for a lot at the top of the hill.

Review 9:We stayed in the large apartment and it was absolutely very luxurious. The apartment itself is wonderful, but the garden and grounds are an amazing place to relax. We had a wonderful stay and could not recommend highly enough. The apartment is only a couple of minutes walk from the centre of the town.

Review 10:The steepness of the streets, but that has to be endured to get the best of montalcino!

Review 11:Fantastic setting, the quality of the apartment and privacy of the outdoor eating and relaxing. Lisa was both welcoming and helpful.

Review 12:The pool and gardens an unexpected pleasure, Lisa was the perfect host, so friendly and helpful (and always impeccably, stylishly dressed). Breakfast things for the first say and kitchen essentials provided, and espresso machine.

Review 13:A lot of stairs from the apartment to the city was a little bit tiresome way - for my husband and me. Of course, the children loved it. :)

Review 14:The apartment (style, comfort, etc) is excellent. The staff's so kindly and helpful. The location is so tranquil, the apartment has a nice garden. It was a great w/e at Montalcino.

Review 15:As with anywhere in Montalcino, narrow roads, tight turns, steep terrain and small car ports.. Do not let this deter just plan accordingly.

Review 16:Everything was amazing... Full kitchen for any breakfast needs.

Review 17:Staff went above and beyond to assist us with any of our needs. The villa had everything we needed located in a beautiful non touristy little village. We loved our stay and would highly reccomend it to anyone.

Review 18:Getting to the appartment is not easy, The streets of Montalcino are very narrow and steep. Small car and gps strongly adviced.

Review 19:Fantastic appartment, very nice and modern decoration. Spacious, well furnished and equipped.

Review 20:Check in logistics were a bit challenging. There was no one at the office during the times listed in their hours, so be sure to email ahead about when you'll be arriving.

Review 21:We absolutely loved Montalcino. Brunello is my husband's favorite type of wine. There are about 250 wineries. We never would have known where to go! The wineries Lisa recommended (and arranged tours at) were the highlight of the trip. The room was lovely. New, well decorated, very comfortable bed, large, modern bathroom. The grounds of the hotel are beautiful. The location is great, a short walk from the town center.

Review 22:Beware if you arrive in a large car as the streets are extremely narrow and with some hard to negotiate turns! However we did manage in our large estate car. Difficult place for you if you have breathing or mobility problems, because of the steep streets. Very pretty though, and many good viewing points around the town perimeter.

Review 23:Our accommodation was lovely with almost everything you could want. Lisa and Andrea were really knowledgeable and helpful. Lisa accompanied me to the nearby hospital re a really bad insect bite. You get a little part of the garden to yourself. Everything in the town is within walking distance - although it is mega steep by steps or slopes throughout the town. Good eateries.

Review 24:Nothing

Review 25:Everything about Suite d'Artista is perfect. Lisa so helpful, efficient and genuine nice person. She went out of her way to help us. Searching train availability and organising brilliant wine tasting and lunch in nearby village. Every place perfect for us. Lisa even organised a small car for us to rent from local company when our big company let us down. The facilities, garden and apartment "Basile" perfect. Washing machine for small fee very handy. Lisa, you and your colleague Andreas are amazing!

Review 26:Location, space, yard and car parking

Review 27:Lisa is great! The apartment was fantastic, great pool, comfortable bed! Fantastic position.

Review 28:Everythink was Ok.

Review 29:the big room and bathroom, and the location.

Review 30:The streets of Montalcino are very narrow.

Review 31:Rooms are very nice and well decorated. Beautiful garden and space between each apartment, total privacy

Review 32:nothing

Review 33:everything. kindness, location, cleanliness

Review 34:Location is hard to find and the parking is tricky. The lower floor bedroom was musty and need more ventilation.

Review 35:Lisa was super helpful and tried her best to help us in every way. The 2 bedroom suite has a spacious sitting and dinning area with a well equipped kitchen. The breakfast provision for the first morning was generous as well. The downstair bedroom also has a pleasant sitting lounge and also one and a half bathrooms.

Review 36:Lovely peaceful garden. Extremely helpful staff Short walk from centre of Montalcino. Excellent self catering facilities in 2 bedroom suite.

Review 37:Not many Italian properties have ticked all our boxes over the years, but Suite d'Artista certainly did. Fantastic hosts, with great ideas for wineries, restaurants and places to visit. Very clean and comfortable apartment, with fast, reliable wifi included!!. Large secluded gardens for relaxing after a day visiting the local areas was just perfect. Fantastic 10 days realaxation.

Review 38:There is nothing that we didn't like!

Review 39:We enjoyed every minute of our stay at Suite d'Artista. Montalcino is a beautiful town and the apartment is within walking distance to numerous restaurants and shops. Beautiful garden and space between each apartment, total privacy.

Review 40:All good!

Review 41:Lisa was very helpful and friendly. Garden apartment was relaxing, yet still very central. Great view up the hill to the towers from the bath.

Review 42:Lisa was very communicative and helpful, there was parking available, a simple breakfast was provided for the first morning, everything we needed was in a small, but very well laid out room, high end items (appliances and design)

Review 43:It was everything perfect

Review 44:We've loved the room. It is charming and complete with everything you need for a perfect stay. The owners think of everyrhing, from a Nespresso machine in the room to little snacks for a late night bite

Review 45:Very difficult to get into the tiny parking lot--if Lisa offers to parkyour car-you should let her. The property is at the bottom of a steeproad so be prepared to walk up a bit to get to the city center.

Review 46:Lisa and Andreas were very welcoming and helpful. The property is verybeautiful and serene and unexpected in the historical city ofMontalcino. The room or rather apartment we had was very thoughtfullyequipped with food to start off our trip. Bed was very comfortabel andlarge. The bathroom was quite nice with a full size soaking tub and afull sized shower. We had access to the washer on premises for a fee. There were much appreciated little touches everywhere. The property isobviously well taken care of.

Review 47:Difficult to get to apartment and parking There could have been a small oven/microwave Coffee percolator could have been larger. A better seating area

Review 48:Staff apartment location

Review 49:Could use curtains for the bathroom and heavier curtains option to block out light near the bed in the early morning for those of us with jet lag. Really though, everything was great.

Review 50:Lisa was great. So helpful. Room was beautiful and unique

Review 51:Suite d'Artista is amazing! The property is beautiful and we loved spending time in the garden, which is lovingly cared for by Andrea and Lisa. Our suite (Di Silvestre) was stylish, comfortable, well equipped--in short, perfect! Montalcino is a happy and friendly town, and a great base for exploring Tuscany. Finally, I have to add that Lisa and Andrea are incredible hosts. They are both so welcoming, warm, and helpful. They helped make our trip to Tuscany unforgettable.

Review 52:Amazing! Probably the best accomodation in 14 days of our vacation in Italy. Very nice suite (Basile) with well equipped kitchen, unbelievably splendid garden full of various herbs, olive trees and other plants, great refreshing pool and pretty view of the town. 5 stars!!!

Review 53:nothing!

Review 54:beautifull location, nice garden, good city with nice reaturants. Excellent staff, everything was very good!! We enjoyed it. parking near the house is possible.

Review 55:Nothings

Review 56:The staff was great, helping us during our stay several times. The location inside the city of Montalcino is perfect, there are several restaurants and wine bars walking distance. The apartment is very clean, nicely decorated, and comfortable beds.

Review 57:Are you kidding?

Review 58:Such a fantastic place... You are within a medieval city but at the same time in a beautiful garden. Lisa and Andrea are great hosts. We got a lot of helpful recommendations from them about the surrounding area. While sitting in the garden just in front of our studio, we could see the city and also get some fresh aromatic herbs for our salads:) You should go and see for yourself. Also montalcino is very good location to use as a base for daily trips in the region, including Siena, Val Dorca, etc..

Review 59:It was a bit of a steep climb from the suite (located at the bottom edge of town) to the rest of the town. Not for the disabled or people with breathing or heart problems.

Review 60:Wonderful concierge. So helpful about directions, restaurants. Friendly and vivacious. Recently remodeled room was very comfortable with lovely bath. Very luxurious bed linens and pillows, towels.

Review 61:Driving here was a little stressful. The town is very hilly and the streets are very narrow. I consider it a miracle that I found the place and it was only because I had a good GPS!

Review 62:This place is in a beautiful location and the staff was extremely friendly. I was traveling alone and stopped here for a night. I really enjoyed it, but I think it would be amazing if traveling with a companion.

Review 63:The steep climb to the restaurants but that is all part of it.

Review 64:Everything. Lisa and Andrea are both welcoming and helpful. The location is perfect. The gardens are beautiful.

Review 65:We were quite late checking and arrived only at about 7pm. Despite that, Lisa was very patient explainging everything to us and even recommended some excellent restaurants for us to go to...had a great time..

Review 66:Extremely comfortable suite within the walls of Montalcino. Very quiet. Kitchenette and terrace overlooking garden. Lisa is a great source of info, from wine to gourmet/restaurants.

Review 67:That I could not stay there longer.

Review 68:Lisa was amazing. We did not arrive until late in the evening, but she was waiting for us when we arrived. We got right in to our studio. She helped us out with how to get around Montalcino, where to eat, etc. Free wi-fi was great. The location is only minutes (up a decent size hill) from the main strip of Montalcino and only about 10 minutes walk from the castle. If you rent multiple suites with friends/family, it is perfect. All suites have a door to the courtyard area. Perfect for interaction, if you want it, with your neighbors.

Review 69:Can be difficult to drive to if you are uncomfortable driving in Italy. Sits at the base of the hill, so while town is within walking distance, it's straight uphill.

Review 70:Beautiful room and wonderful staff. Made for a wonderful Tuscan getaway. Walking distance from town and numerous restaurants.

Review 71:Where to begin? Suite d'Artista is incredible. The town of Montalcino is incredible. This was the highlight of our two-week vacation in Italy. So much so that we are already talking about returning in 2014 (we've only been home a week). Lisa Jane is very sweet and took good care of us. The same goes for Andrea who gave us a ride to the Fortezza when we checked out so we could hang out a while before catching our bus. The room we occupied was very clean and modern. The artwork is beautiful as was the room. The location is great. Just a huff-n-puff walk up the hill to the center of town. There are laundry facilities on the property and we took advantage by washing a load of clothes to get us through the rest of the trip. The pool was nice but cold in September. It didn't matter though. The temperature was mild and we spent an afternoon just lounging on the deck, drinking wine in the sunshine. My recommendation to you if you stay here is to have Lisa Jane call her friend Guilia Vitturi and arrange a day-trip with Guilia to Brunello wineries. She is a professional sommelier and knows wine like she knows herself. It was a truly wonderful day spent with her visiting three separate wineries, tasting, eating, and talking the day away. If you go, do purchase wine from the wineries when you are there. Brunello wine is the best wine we have ever tasted. Suite d'Artista is awesome!

Review 72:Nothing wrong with the hotel itself but be warned that the drive throughthe streets to reach it isn't easy in anything bigger than a small car -very narrow.

Review 73:We stayed at the hotel, in the Basile Suite, for one night on our tripthrough Tuscany. The owner of the hotel met us (ring to advise ofarrival) and was very friendly and helpful. The room was comfortablewith everything we needed and set in a lovely little garden. Tea,nespresso machine, fridge etc in the room and well stocked. Overall nocomplaints and we would return.

Review 74:There is nothing not to like- Andrea and Lisa are flawless.

Review 75:Andrea and Lisa are such amazing hosts and really want you to feel welcome and enjoy your stay. We stayed in the studio, the only room without a kitchen. It had a fridge and cupboards stocked with enough milk and breakfast to get us through the first few days and an awesome espresso machine for our morning macchiatos in the garden. Free Wifi and the dipping pool area is gorgeous. The location is the best as you are so close to town but have the enjoyment of sitting outside on the grass soaking up the sun which you can't do in a medieval walled city. It's the perfect Tuscan balance. If your really lucky you might get to see 'Luigi' the black cat who sometimes pops by. He belongs to the neighborhood and he will steal your heart.

Review 76:Great location and private. Once you lean your way around. The streets are super small and quit an experience to drive on. But again... Once you do it a few times, you learn your way in and out and it becomes fun actually.

Review 77:Thank you to Lisa and Andrea for making our stay a memorable one. Youboth went over and beyond to make us feel comfortable and we greatlyappreciated it. Montalcino was an experience. Coming from Los Angeles,we're used to quite a different pace. It took a couple of days to adjustto they way of life their, but once we did... We loved it. My advice tothose going to visit Tuscany. Be aware that most everything shuts downfrom 1 to 4, so if you can be prepared for that you'll be fine. Take thetime to just relax during those hours and enjoy.

Review 78:LisaJane was extremely helpful, close to town, beautiful garden and plunge pool. Also washing machine that guests can use.

Review 79:- Too many ants! - Not enough plugs for kitchen appliances

Review 80:- Privacy - Garden - Surroundings and location - Nice bathroom facilities

Review 81:Nice location. Nice garden. Nice room, Kitchen and fireplace. Nice christmas's decoration. Nice co-op. And, lisa&andrea's tender hearts.

Review 82:Lisa was extremely helpful and friendly. She had excellent recommendations, not only for Montalcino, but surrounding towns.

Review 83:A little hard to find on your own at night.

Review 84:The owner was amazing a went well out of his way to help us.

Review 85:Difficult driving in the city to the property, Small area for parking

Review 86:Friendly Staff, Private Apartment Feel, Gorgeous Grounds

Review 87:it was not easy to find in the city, especially at night.

Review 88:large suite with well stocked kitchen.

Review 89:That they have 10.00 as check out time and believe that it's the international standard check out time.

Review 90:Beautiful place to stay, I felt as if I was at home. Lisa was extremelyhelpful and made sure we had a great time in Montalcino.
