Reviews for Antica Dimora Patrizia
Review 1:The hotel is next to the Bell tower and it rings from 4am every half hour and every hour.
Review 2:The area is very nice, quiet and charming small town.
Review 3:Rooms have baths with a hand held shower head but not a shower head fixed to the wall.
Review 4:Montecarlo is a charming walled village with a number of very good restaurants. One fine dining restaurant is in the Michelin guide, the Pizzeria on the terrace overlooking the countryside is great and so is the little Trattoria. We felt very welcome from the moment we arrived and the hosts were really helpful. The room was great, furnishings are classic and there are antique pieces in the various public rooms, we also liked the artistic touches with flowers and furnishings painted onto walls. It is a very old house with tremendous character and there is a smell of woodsmoke from the old fireplaces even when they are unlit, magical : ) You can visit the castle and there is a shoe shop in the village which has bargain Italian shoes of all kinds, the place is organised chaos with shoes from the floor to the ceiling but great prices.
Review 5:The beds are a little uncomfortable and our particular interlinked two rooms was not a very convenient configuration since one has to walk through the one bedroom to get to the bathroom.
Review 6:The staff were very helpful and the breakfast was great, with new tarts home baked daily and the room was pretty with antique furnishings. There are several little restaurants only 5 minutes' walk away, one of which has a magnificent view from on high over the surrounding landscape. I loved hearing the church bells very close by.
Review 7:The bed was pretty hard
Review 8:A wonderful old manor house restored in a theatrical style of drapes andpaintings. The current owners couldn't be more open and helpful -Alessandro has a wealth of knowledge of the history of the town and theregion despite being there for less than a year. He has also set up thewine museum on display in the hotel cellars. His wife Nori broughthomemade cakes for breakfast each day and runs the wine tastings onoffer at the hotel. We were made to feel completely at home such that inthe evenings we were left the keys of the hotel to go in and out as wepleased. Montecarlo itself, though small, has many good restaurants andwineries and a spontaneous nightlife - one evening had cinema in thesquare, the next rehearsals of the local opera singers and of theorchestra sounding out through the streets. Montecarlo makes a greatbase to explore the zone between Pisa and Florence, but without thecongestion of a city at night
Review 9:Montecarlo is a nicely located medieval village in Tuscany that is an ideal starting point if you want to see the region. Especially good if you don't like the crowd but would like to enjoy calm and peaceful village life. The owners of Antica Dimora Patrizia, Nori and Alessandro, are really friendly and helpful. Visit this place if you like authentic surroundings.
Review 10:We are very satisfied with our stay in Montecarlo. The owners of Antica Dimora Patrizia were very kind and helpful. Alessandro gave us a lot of useful advises and his wife Nori prepared delicious breakfasts for us. The place is really convenient for visiting neighbouring historical towns ( Lucca, Pisa, Firenze ) and also for relax on the beaches of Viareggio. And Montecalro itself is a charming town too.
Review 11:Basic B&B. Lots of faux everything which didn't, appeal to us. Bathrooms left a lot to be desired, beds not great and general repair mediocre. But if you are staying in Monte Casino it's not a bad option and there are great restaurants in countryside nearby.
Review 12:Really charming owners.
Review 13:Very hard to find - road signs tend to peter out. Get a large scale Google Maps printout before venturing out
Review 14:Location - an amazing village and a fabulous house - eccentiric italian
Review 15:Great location in a small medieval village. Very friendly staff, great 15th century house. Could be strongly recommended to those who travel with a car around Tuscany and want to stay away from crowds in Florence or other bigger cities.
Review 16:No WiFi signal in the room
Review 17:Perfect location right in the castle, good breakfast, pleasant restaurants near the hotel (ask the owner), clean, wifi in common areas and some rooms.
Review 18:Public transport access
Review 19:The town/village
