Reviews for Tara Lodge

Review 1:Small problem with shower head and airco, but staff willing to immediately pay attention to it.

Review 2:Nice big rooms with veranda, beautiful garden and swimming pool. Quiet and relaxed place. Friendly and helpful staff and owners.

Review 3:value for moneywise a little bit expensive if you compare it with other hotels in cambodja for the same price bit we were very happy to stay in their hotel.

Review 4:Corinne was very very friendly en helpfull. nice hotel that needs a bit of a facelift . location is superb and for a friendly tuc tuc drive to the city you pay 2 usd

Review 5:The wi-fi doesn't work in the rooms. The breakfast is good but a little bit small...

Review 6:The hotel is cosy and nice, not too big. It is located above Kep at the entrance of the natural park, so good to go for trekking. It is very quiet, surrounded by beautiful nature, with a charming pool. The two French owners will make your stay easy by giving you all kind of advices on where to go around Kep and Kampot. Lots of great addresses.

Review 7:Beverages were never noted down and over pricing occurred daily. You were never right even if you had been noting them down on a book. Drinks were very expensive even fruit juice.

Review 8:Friendly staff with good food

Review 9:Must make Very Clear. They only take cash. No atm nearby. Last minute panic to pay and catch bus out. Breakfast not great. Local coffee not nice for us. Should offer normal coffee too please

Review 10:Lovely friendly couple who run the place. Very helpful Beautiful pool.

Review 11:Khmer beds are usually very firm wherever you stay, but Tara's beds were too hard for my taste. Although there were mosquito nets they had some small holes in them. It wouldn't take much to properly seal the windows and door for mosquitoes.

Review 12:Tara is quiet and relaxing. It's not 5 star and that is the whole point of Tara. The staff are friendly and helpful. We loved the simplicity of the place, which fits well with Kep. Great Khmer coffee, good wine list. Pretty tropical gardens. The food was delicious and loved the breezy open air restaurant.

Review 13:Omg those Khmer beds were made of stone... but the owners had just been to phnom phen to buy new ones! Out of town so tuk tuk prices a bit steep

Review 14:We loved that pool

Review 15:Tours arranged for us first to Rabbit Island and then all day by Tuk-tuk with Marie as our guide Marie visiting a pepper farm, a local village and various other places of interest. Marie is from Belgium and has totally integrated herself into the local community. She speaks excellent English. Ask for Marie as your guide and you will definitely not be disappointed. For this reason alone, we were pleased to have stayed here.

Review 16:I found the bed a little hard but they sorted it for me and then I slept wonderfully.

Review 17:So accommodating with everything. Fabulous food. Great staff. Loved the pool. Rooms luxurious.

Review 18:The only criticism is that our beds were very hard. Probably just our taste, but it was pretty uncomfortable.

Review 19:This is a charming resort within a short walk or tuk-tuk ride from Kep beach and the crab market. The pool is gorgeous, the whole place is spotlessly clean and the rooms offer a lot of privacy, are very tastefully decorated and have very welcome air-conditioning and mosquito nets. It's also very eco-friendly which is unusual in Cambodia, we found.

Review 20:It wasn't that much of a problem, but there is building work happening behind the lodge. You could hear the work for a couple of Hours a day.

Review 21:Tara lodge is just at the bottom of Kep national park, and is green and peaceful. The whole place is beautiful, the rooms are spacious and clean and the pool area is lovely.

Review 22:The lady owner wasn't that friendly; she was also mysteriously hung up on our Cambodian visas. She needs to chill out and not be so unnecessarily bureaucratic. Recommend a course in English and in fundamentals of the hospitality industry. The bed was incredibly uncomfortable. At night, with the doors and windows closed, the room was a bit claustrophobic. The bathroom was small and dingy, with just a trickle of water in the shower.

Review 23:The tranquility and surrounding open space, with a Greater Coucal very close by, made this place lovely. The room was very pretty, nicely decorated, and private. The accompanying veranda was lovely. The room included breakfast. Despite some shortcomings, just hearing the Coucal and being able to stroll up the street to the national park made this place good. The price was also a bargain.

Review 24:The best of French hospitality combined and Cambodian service. Spotlessly clean and very nice atmosphere. Merci Karine et Christophe pour un très agréable sejour. L'ambiance et la beauté de ce lieu est magnifique. À bientôt

Review 25:Large, bright room with private terrace and sea view. Good breakfast and nice Khmer or French food. Peaceful, friendly and welcoming environment. Would definitely stay again.

Review 26:- you have to stand up to really have sea view on your balcony, so they should trim the tries, because you pay extra for not so much :) - food in the resort (except breakfast) was so so. We expected more. Too salty, too blend, also the Cambodian dishes. Especially for the prices (6 to 7 $).

Review 27:- pool - breakfast (nice choices and perfect execution) - breakfast was included (not excluded like stated on Booking.com) - very nice room with big balcony (we had most expensive room) - very nice girl behind the bar who's sweet and funny

Review 28:To walk a little far from the restaurants next to the Crab Market (but do-able by bicycle!) The amount of French guests makes it a bit harder to make contact if you don't speak French :-)

Review 29:* Lovely resort setup * Bungalows are spacious, nicely decorated incl. bathroom * Friendly French couple that owns the place (the lady is doing an English course for easier communication with guests)

Review 30:Nothing

Review 31:Beautiful place. Fantastic food. Very friendly attentive hosts. Good location. Very restful I can't wait to go back. An undiscovered Shangrila.

Review 32:My friend and I recently enjoyed a relaxing weekend at the lovely Tara Lodge in Kep. The breakfasts were excellent, the pool was a welcome respite from the heat and the owners and staff did a great job of making sure we were well taken care of. They also provide free use of bicycles which makes for an easy 5-minute ride into town where the crab market and restaurants are located. I highly recommend this place.

Review 33:Bed could have been more comfortable

Review 34:Laid back ambiance. Good location. Helpful and very friendly staff. Nice pool and garden.
