Reviews for Borgo Egnazia
Review 1:Dinner in the restaurant on-site seems to be over-priced for the quality they provide
Review 2:Absolutely amazing place, everything is done perfectly - room, facilities, breakfast.
Review 3:that it was not promoted as a family resort...Yet, there were many young families with kids And all the "things" that go with young children
Review 4:Beautiful facility and accoutrements
Review 5:Nothing
Review 6:We loved the feeling of luxury and tranquility. Even though this is not an old Masseria it was beautifully recreated to feel like one. The pool areas were beautiful, the spa was incredible, we loved riding bikes around the many lanes flanked by stone walls. We had dinner in Savalettri and Speziale. There was often someone playing the guitar in the evening. We walked across the street to play golf on a beautiful course with a good set of rented clubs and a very nice spot to have lunch or a drink.
Review 7:It's a little maze-like. We found other people roaming the halls trying to find the elevator as we were doing the same. But after a day or so, we were good to go!
Review 8:The place is really gorgeous. The pools are beautiful, and even with so many people there, very peaceful. There is a family area so all the kids were there and using the pool there. All the staff are friendly, helpful and really want to make sure you're taken care of. And the breakfast was great - lots of options including soy and rice milk, gluten free stuff, eggs to order and tons of fruit. We stayed here for the last three nights of a three week Italian visit and it was a perfect way to relax after a lot of time touring around.
Review 9:Absence of daily workout options (yoga, Pilates, ...) already scheduled complimentary or not Nothing offered during the stay to 'delight' the client and to fully transfer value for price paid (rather a continuous solicitation for the next paid service) Part of the staff not up to the standards of a global luxury resort Cost of the food options
Review 10:Location and quality of all facilities Courtesy and proximity at all time of most of the staff Excellence of the spa personnel and of the yoga professors
Review 11:I LOVED EVERYTHING :)
Review 12:This place was to die for !! Everyone was great! The staff was amazing, the entire place was perfect!! I want to go back. It was expensive but it was worth every penny!!!
Review 13:No entertainment for adults. Small gym and bikes hire is pretty much all an adult could be happy there unless you are very much into spa. As I wasn't and with a couple of rainy days I was bored beyond reasonable boundaries. An yoga class charge of about €200 seemed too much. All the dance and fitness classes presented in the spa book are for an extra price and a high one too. I am sure there is some scope for improvement. Kids club even though was a great success and children clearly loved it could have offered more variety. By the end of our stay it started wearing off mostly due to same things every day. Not enough outdoors activities for children. Besides, even though an iPad and Xbox are a good way to distract a child if he or she is upset but there should be a fair limit to those.
Review 14:Excellent and very friendly service with a personal touch, not a single reason to complain. Kids club - children stay from 9am till 6pm and mostly love it there. We stayed in a two-bedroom room which is more like a little townhouse. The room had three bathrooms, self-catering facilities and was generally very clean. Delicious plentiful breakfast The food in general is of outstanding quality
Review 15:A bit far from anywhere and so a bit difficult to walk anywhere.
Review 16:The bed was very good, as was breakfast. The staff were helpful, but we asked for a few things to be done, and they promptly forgot!
Review 17:This may be good or bad depending upon how authentic you want your visit to Puglia to be...but if there was a Puglia at Disney this would be it: a recreated, pretty, somewhat sterile version of the real thing.
Review 18:Five star comfort, service and cleanliness. Beautiful grounds and design. Huge bathroom with both shower and rub. Excellent buffet breakfast with a wide variety and good quality. Great bed. Lovely to have fireplaces going in the bar area on chilly nights.
Review 19:Think food could be bit better with more selection. Cold soups and more choices. Breakfast is excellent though.
Review 20:Loved the smell. People, & decoration. Exceptional place will definitely come back. Would like sourdough bread on menu & more choice for lunch food bit weird! But everything else perfect.
Review 21:The furniture... The location... the service... the room... everything was perfect! Everybody was perfectly friendly! Special thanks to Angela from the reception, to Guiseppe from "La Frasca", to Sarah from the room service and to Roberta from the Pool/Beach Bar!
Review 22:Food is disappointing for this type of resort, particularly at La Frasca restaurant. The quality of fish dishes is just unacceptable, I had to return the fish twice. And thai is very pity as the resort is in the area with lots of fresh fish. We had to wait for 30 minutes untill the order is taken, and then 1 hour to get the starter, the main dish for myself did not arrive once at all. We just left after 2 hours of waiting. I guess the best solution for La Frasca would be buffet and not a la cart menu. The kitchen is simply not able to cook good meal for this number of guests at a reasonable time . The guests have to wait very long.
Review 23:Everything was OK (the rooms, the beach, pools, kids club.
Review 24:Not much, but if we are picking holes, the piano bar music was quite dated in the evening and the food in the pool bar was average for a 5* hotel. I didn't particularly like the bathroom toiletries (very perfumed) so take your favourite bath oil if you want to enjoy the beautiful bath in your bathroom.
Review 25:We loved the look and feel of the hotel, it's faultless and very beautiful. The staff were amazing and were incredible with our 17 year old son! The crèche was fantastic and looked after him so well on two mornings. The spa is pretty impressive and very relaxing. I had a haircut and colour which was first class and no dearer than London prices. We attended the Friday night beach club buffet and party which was great fun!
Review 26:Mosquitoes by the beach and the car parking system.
Review 27:We had just come off ferry from Greece so in need of some tlc. Room was lovely and calm. Pools are great. Normally would not like a completely modern ‘old style’ hotel but this is so well done and designed. Food is a bit expensive but delicious.
Review 28:AMAZING PLACE AND AMAZING STAFF

Review 50:We like mer
Review 51:wish it was next to the ocean.
Review 52:This is a perfect getaway especially for those who love medieval architecture. The entire complex is designed as a medieval village with great attentions to details. I stayed there for only two days and I would stay longer or use it as the home base to explore Puglia if I knew this wonderful place before hand. If you go to see Puglia, stay there just for the experience and have a story to tell for a long time.
Review 53:Extremely luxurious resort; highly recommend it. Amazing service, ambience, rooms, swimming pools, food. Very clean and comfortable, and everything is presented beautifully, with amazing attention to detail. They are particularly wonderful with children. They pureed fresh veggies and fish for our baby to eat, and it was lovely to be able to have a fine dining experience with our baby! They also gave us baby bath gel and moisturiser and prepared a clean and comfortable cot for our baby.
Review 54:One of our TVs was not working on arrival and our external lights were not working. Quite dangerous at night as our room was on the first floor up a flight of stairs. Our lights were never fixed for the duration of our 7 day/night stay. The service at breakfast and dinner is indifferent at best. Despite waiters and waitresses being aplenty it seems that they have no allocated tables to feel responsible for looking after so as a result you could sit there for quite some time waiting for service and ultimately needed to summons a waiter to order a cooked breakfast or fresh orange juice and coffee. Many of the staff did not possess a command of other than very basic English and as a consequence you often got something you didn't order and didn't want. Many waiters avoided because of this. Just not acceptable for a 5 star hotel and a member of the Leading Hotels of the World. On one day the service was too efficient so our order for a cooked breakfast was taken at the same time as our orange juice and coffee. Before we had even finished our fruit the cooked breakfast had arrived and subsequently the orange juice and coffee! The resort is very isolated and you are in effect a captive audience. One can walk to the small local town of Savelletri, which offers a few restaurants and small shops, from the rocky beach which is serviced by shuttle from the resort on a regular basis. The walk is about 1 km. If you walk into town for dinner you would need to get a taxi back a privilege for which the hotel charges €15 for all of a 4 minute journey. So if you want to go into town and back by taxi it is €30 for the round trip. It is 2.1km by road from the hotel! On one night the driver dropped us nowhere near the restaurant we were going to because it was busy in town! Fortunately we knew our way around but if we had not it would have been rather different.
Review 55:The room and housekeeping were both excellent. The buffet breakfast selection was good. The rooms are beautifully appointed. The pools were excellent, particularly the adults and children 12 years and older.
Review 56:The service in the restaurants was the worst we had during our 15 nightstay in Italy. It baffles me that the service is first class everywhereon the property and the service in the restaurants was awful. No one wasrude to us. Just overall poor service.
Review 57:Almost everything. The grounds were wonderful. The bar, the pools, thespa. It was all beautiful.
Review 58:Nothing really
Review 59:Staff very attentive but not overly so. Room very comfortable and well maintained.
