Residence Kalè sells fast on our site. The Kalè is a 16th century building set in the historic center of Gallipoli. It offers Mediterranean style apartments with tiled floors and free Wi-Fi, 150 feet from Sant'Agata Cathedral.
All air conditioned apartments at Residence Kalè feature a fully equipped kitchenette with fridge and coffee/tea maker. Each apartment has a sitting area with sofa bed, and a TV.
The white sands of La Puritate beach are a 3-minute walk from the Kalè. The property runs a bike rental service, and the immediate area includes restaurants, stores and bars.

Review 1：Apt in need of a good scrub and some fresh decor. Wifi and lights flickered on and off. Lots of street life to watch and listen to from early morning to late night. Many stairs.

Review 2：Great location, within five minute walk to anywhere on the island and 15 minute walk across bridge to main part of town and train station. Lots of nearby places to eat in or get take away. Owner very pleasant. Fully furnished apt with well equipped kitchen. Good value if travelling with family or group.

Review 3：No bad experiences, but the website did promise that every apartment has its own terrace or balcony, and we just had windows. The kitchen could do with a few more pots and pans.

Review 4：The location is superb - right in the very heart of a lovely old town, and peaceful at night. The building,too, is wonderful - a beautiful old palazzo, full of character and interest. And Gianni is a perfect host: cultured, courteous, genial, generous and very welcoming, as was Francesco for whom nothing was too much trouble.

Review 5：The apartment was more than adequately equipped and had a great location. However, the bathroom was dark, dingey and in serious need of an upgrade e.g. broken units, exposed plumbing- while taking shower, bath is full of water -really not very good at all. Apart from the location there is nothing great of this hotel. Reception area was very messy and overcrowded. Booked this hotel after reading very positive reviews from the website. Totally disappointed. The room was not clean and old, grease everywhere-kithen equipment dirty! The windows were very dirty. Would never stay there again. For the money we payed it is not even value for money!

Review 8：The location was perfect - in the middle of the old town, but not too noisy at night, and close to the little beach. Run by a very charming host and his delightful family. And good value indeed.

Review 9：The self-catering apartment was situated in the middle of the old town. It was well decorated and had three windows. The proprietor was very friendly and helpful and gave me some bottles of wine during my stay.

Review 10：car parking is off the island - so a mission to get luggage in /out. ( apparently in summer this is done for you).

Review 12：Easy to get to by car and central to the old island city. Free parking in the new city was easy to get to. This city is a fish eaters heaven. We purchased a different seafood at the dock every day and cooked some marvelous meals.

Review 14：The manager Gianni is a very rude person who likes to insult his guests. It all started because of the fact that I asked him to suggest us a restaurant and he started yelling at me.. During check in he wanted to discuss this but did not apologize, instead of this he was convinced that he doesn't offer that service... Have never met a host as arrogant as him before..sad..

Review 16：ideal location next to cathedral in the centter of the beautiful old town. very nice and helpful owner (very good english spoken) Appartment a bit dark for the wintertime (we were in december), but probably very cool and comformtable in the summer heat, because this is a very old building with thick walls.

Review 17：The apartment for 4 people with terrace is astonishing! It has an access to the roof from where you can see churches, light houses, the see and the charming streets of Gallipoli. All this in a 16th century building!

Review 21：Every town needs a "Gianni". This is a man who enjoys life, makes visitors comfortable & is an ambassador of Gallipoli's merchants. Residence Kale is perfectly situated on the main street. Restaurants, the fish market & port are just a short walk. We planned on staying 2 nights but added another day because we loved the neighborhood, Gianni & his friendly neighbors. Our "residence" was very comfortable...quiet at night; large bedroom with plenty of closet space; modern bathroom fixtures with strong water pressure in the shower and a kitchen! We didn't plan on cooking but after seeing all that the fish market offered, we decided to give it try. . . 2 kilos of fresh mussels for 5 E was awesome. Staying here makes one feel like you are a resident rather than a hotel guest and Gianni makes you smile.

Review 22：For someone with knee problems or walking difficulties, one would have to be sure to ask for something on the ground floor (if they have rooms down there)because otherwise there are some stairs to go up to the rooms...

Review 23：Very centrally located. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The apartment we got was very spacious, the bed was comfortable and although small, the bathroom was equiped with a wonderful shower. I had booked what I thought was a B&B but what I got was a real residence with a suitable kitchen and living area in addition to the bedroom.

Review 26：We travelled to gallipoli for a short holiday with my young daughter and sister. We booked residence kale the night before we arrived. I honestly can't -recommend it enough!! The location is in he middle of the old town and a 100 meters from the nicest little beach. We were originally supposed to stay for for 2 nights but stayed an additional 2. Only thing I would recommend if u are a light sleeper to request a flat the courtyard. Gianni the owner was lovely. He showed were to go, which restaurants to go and On out last morning gave us a speedy ride to the train station and helped us wih out luggage and buggy right into the train. We were so grateful an definitely plan to return!!! Hope if you are reading this u enjoy gallipoli as much as we did!!!

Review 27：I had room N. 7 and all the windows go to the main pedestrian street of the old town were there is chatting, singing, screaming., street music and even moto bikes at 4.00 p.m. It was not possible to sleep well one single night. The owner is super friendly and always up for charming words but if it comes to real information, request or help you could not count very much on him. Cleaning could be improved. Bathroom very small. WiFi signal non existing in the rooms, you have to sit on the stairs in the yard all the time to have connection.

Review 47：the location, the residence is located in the storic centre of Gallipoli, it is a charming ancient building, the kindness of the owner who gave us many suggestions, the cleanliness. it take two minutes by foot to reach the beach, the beach of Purità which is located in storic centre, very nice, with a carribean sea, surrounded by ancient wall. However I suggest Salento for everything: the food, the sea, the beaches, the cities, traditions and people.

Review 56：Location is great, in the very city centre, close to the restaurants, bars and shops of all kinds... Apartments are cozy and clean. There were water and juices in the fridge, vegetable and olive oil to cook, some detergents to clean... The staff (Gianni at reception) is fantastic! We would go there just to meet him for sure!!!
