Reviews for Antica Cascina Del Golfo

Review 1:Brilliant, relaxing hotel tucked into the hills on Scopello. Incredible views, great host and good breakfast. Will even do a packed lunch to take with you on a walk in the National park.

Review 2:As others have said, the pool will make this place spectacular. We had some issues with mosquitos in our room (dozens of them) and although the owner had provided a plug-in repellant I was bitten all over.

Review 3:The view from this B&B is really magical. The cakes for breakfast were great - very fresh. Our room was relatively spacious.

Review 4:It would have been nice to have water in the pool which wasn't ready yet. It takes a bit of getting used to having "neighbors". And though the room is comfortable, the shower cabin already looking a bit used.

Review 5:The view is absolutely fabulous & we could open the doors of the room & see the view from our bed. The owner/ host is great. It's nice that everything is still new.

Review 6:Only disappointing thing for us was that the infinity pool was not finished, whenever it is it will be perfect to spend a whole afternoon there. Some other reviews already mention that the drive up is steep and on an unpaved road, but its worth it.

Review 7:s a very nice property overlooking the sea. The room is comfortable and charming. The bathrooms are a bit dated but fine for a B&B. The service really great and the breakfast nice too. We especially liked having breakfast because of the lovely view. Its really a relaxing place.

Review 8:The location on the top of a hill requires necessarily a car (which we had).

Review 9:The view was amazing, the breakfast was rich and with a lot of choices. The bedroom always clean, and the air conditioning working perfectly.

Review 10:Actually nothing, when the swimming pool under construction will be finished this property will be wonderfull

Review 11:Great view, peaceful, well located (1 km from Scopello and a bit more to the tonnara, the nearest beach; 2-3km from the Zingaro protected area, 10 km from the motorway from which in less than 1 hour to e.g. Palermo, Trapani, Erice, Monreale, Segesta, Selinunte),simple and elegant in local style, wonderful owners Giovanna and Giuseppe.

Review 12:Leaving this place and sorry that the swimming pool was not done yet. But this is a reason to definitely go back.

Review 13:Feeling relaxed due to the amazing view, more than friendly staff and delicious breakfast.

Review 14:Nothing

Review 15:The place and view were absolutely amazing. Comfortable room, veryclean and lovely. The owner is very nice person and helpful. Breakfastwas delicious. Everything was perfect. It was really hard to leavethat B&B

Review 16:When the infinity pool is finished it will be an out-of-this-world experience. My only minor gripe was seeing the pool half-built and not being able to lie in it all day! Aside from this we would recommend this property to everyone.

Review 17:The staff were lovely and the breakfast great, served on the patio overlooking a view of the mountains and the sea. The best way to start a day!

Review 18:Perhaps our room could have been more modern but it really did not matter when you can look out the window and see that view

Review 19:Such a beautiful location would recommend this hotel to everyone. Lovely friendly service, great breakfast, clean rooms and the most jaw dropping views across the sea.

Review 20:The room happened to be slightly too warm at night: aircon was available and working, but we decided not to make use of it.

Review 21:The location (excellent views and perfect base for repeated visits to the Zingaro natural reserve nearby), sitting for breakfast in a veranda overlooking the nearby Scopello and the gulf, the bedroom (simple but fully appropriate).

Review 22:We had a room in the middle which was fine but everyone had to walk pastus so it was not easy to enjoy the view and maintain privacy. This is ahilltop B&B which meant it was a little too far to walk down andback from Scopello village (which had great restaurant choices),especially if you want to wear high heels and look as glamorous as theItalians! We drove and paid eur3 for parking each night and had to goeasy on the drinks. It was all worth it to enjoy the stunning views!

Review 23:If you want spectacular views and authentic Italian hospitality, this isthe place for you. Neat rooms that open out on to a shared terraceoverlooking the delightful Scopello bay area. The hosts Giovanna andGiuseppe were so friendly and accommodating providing local tips and afabulous breakfast, which was taken on the terrace. A cooked breakfastand a different freshly baked mouthwatering Italian cake was made everyday, including the famous little tube the Cannoli! Easy access toPalermo, the beautiful Guidaloca pebble beach and amazing Segestahistorical site. It was great value and we did not want to leave!

Review 24:Great breakfast and beautiful views. Loungers on the large patios outside each room overlooking the sea were very relaxing. Friendly and helpful owner.

Review 25:- The hill up to the b&b was not nice to drive - The b&b is situated outside the village Scopello. As a young couple I think we would have prefered to stay in a little bigger town for some more choices of restaurants and some more life (maybe in Trapani) but we had a great stay at this b&b!

Review 26:+ A very nice view + Friendly hostess + Good breakfast, although it was mostly sweet things + Choose the rooms with a sea view! + The b&b was very nice and calm. Perfect for relaxing.

Review 27:Perfect place to relax with magnificent view

Review 28:You really need to have a car or be very fit because of the location

Review 29:Views of surrounding area. The staff were excellant

Review 30:The incredible view. Perfect hotel to relax.

Review 31:Amazing place to be. Not the last time

Review 32:Thin walls.. Can hear neighbours

Review 33:Place, host.

Review 34:Just perfect, very nice view, when the swiminngpool will be ready, it is going to be paradise ;)

Review 35:Steep walk up the hill, but the view more than made up for it!

Review 36:Owners made us feel family. They couldn't be more hospitable!

Review 37:Room on the small side.

Review 38:Beautiful location with spectacular view

Review 39:The way to get There is very bad and the orner is not a very Nice personne ,very unpolite but is wife is Nice and friendly.

Review 40:The view

Review 41:The location and view is absolutely stunning!

Review 42:The road to the property is not the best.

Review 43:The host was ever so nice. Very accommodating, even printed our tickets for the return flight. The view was second to non. Loved the breakfast too. Very conveniently located - close to Castllemmare del Golfo and very close to Scopello.

Review 44:Not much, in our room we had no airco but we did not mind. Maybe if it would be hotter?

Review 45:We had a very cozy and romantic room, the bed is large and everything is super clean. The view we had is priceless. We arrived the first night and all the stress fel of like butter. We ordered a glass of wine and some local speciality bread with ... It was heavenly. The reception was very good. A very friendly and though full welcoming feeling. We enjoyed our stay so much that we immediately booked another day!

Review 46:I hated to leave!

Review 47:Magnificent view and property Fabulous location Perfectly quiet Really comfortable bed Great shower Generous, delicious breakfast Charming, helpful hosts

Review 48:Giovana is an amazing hostess!! The views are stunning and we visited the nature reserve which was beautiful and even had a swim (in April!). We would definitely recommend staying here!

Review 49:A beautiful place on top of a mountainside. Great views over the sea from the rooms. Couches and comfortable chairs outside, to enjoy the view, a book and a cigar. Very friendly and caring owner. When the night turned a bit cold, she brought extra blankets (although the rooms have heaters).

Review 50:We stayed at Antica Cascina Del Golfo for only 2 days but the whole experience was beyond our expectations. An amazingly beautiful setting with a magical view, very well-appointed apartments, free wi-fi, close to magnificent Scopello, Faraglioni rocks, Zingaro Nature Reserve and wonderful rocky bays and cliffs. It was so peaceful, quiet and relaxing. The hosts were so nice and very helpful. We cannot wait to return...

Review 51:Wonderful location overlooking the sea on the edge of a nature reserve, close to boat trip and Greek temples. Superb food cooked by the owners. Charming service. Wonderful coastal view from the terrace. A gem!

Review 52:Staff wasn't really helpfull, I think they need the money to continue building their pool... finishing off the place... and you can feel that... no aircondition working, no remote to be found... told us to call them, but they were absent... 100 Euro's is too much for what you get. It's a pity as teh view is unique... They urged us to pay cash which we didn't...

Review 53:Superb view, good breakfast, nice little town

Review 54:Breakfast of good quality but only if you are used to an only 'sweet ingredient' breakfast.

Review 55:Tremendous views on the coastal area from the terrace of our appartment. Approach from the mainroad over a dirtroad not as tempting as suggested in some other reviews, good startingpoint to visit the Zingaro national park, Erice, temple of Segesta etc. Giovanna was a great hostess. Lovely nearby village of Scopello with a great trattoria as recommended by Giovanna.

Review 56:The design of the Antica Cascina (Though I what exactly is "Antica"? It is all brand newly built. The architect/designer has not thought this design through at all. With these magnificent views you have to eat in a small dining room at the back of the building… no view at all. The outside areas have no shade so in mid summer this would be boiling hot. The rooms are very basic. OK for one night. Finally, though they were not offering any food on the premises except wine and a very light breakfast it is *strictly* forbidden to eat any food from outside.

Review 57:The location is wonderful. The views are superb… The lady in charge was very friendly.

Review 58:Superb view from all the rooms there, excellent breakfasts and also the help given such as when we had a small problem with the car. The room was kept scrupulously clean and towels changed daily. The approach uphill was an interesting challenge but should not put off anyone wanting a quiet and relaxing break in this picturesque corner of Sicily. Additionally it is only 40 minutes from Palermo Airport across the bay so is convenient for the first or last stop on a touring holiday. The beaches nearby have really clear water and are ideal for swimming, snorkelling etc.. The Zingaro nature reserve provides walking opportunities and further secluded bays. A variety of restaurants can be found minutes away in Scopello.

Review 59:Room quite basic. Terrace needs awning or parasol to provide some shade.A bit difficult to find. Entrance road not well marked.

Review 60:Fantastic position & views from terrace.

Review 61:Beautiful location with great view!

Review 62:Astonishing view...Incredible really. Clean and modern. Good breakfast

Review 63:exellent views, charming hostess and good location

Review 66:Great view and location, will be perfect with a swimming pool.

Review 67:Super place, amazing views from hotel, small and super cozy.

Review 69:The location and outlook, the warm welcome and excellent food.

Review 70:Great hospitality, very friendly Italian family, stunning panorama and best location to visit Zingaro Nature Reserve

Review 71:We loved the amazing view and the wonderful warmth of our hostess.

Review 72:De ligging, het ontbijt, de kamers, de vriendelijke eigenares

Review 73:Excellent place...super location...

Review 74:Extraordinary location (a bit difficult to find, bad road), waking upwith the rising sun over the beautiful Castellamare bay
