Reviews for Hotel L'Isola

Review 1:The location on the old square is beautiful. From our room through the open balcony door we had the sound of the waves breaking on the shore below. In the morning bird song. As peaceful as you could want after a rough flight from the USA that arrived in a downpour 2 hours late. Dinner at the adjoining restaurant was wonderful with very attentive and helpful service. It is not palatial, but we loved it. We will certainly return.

Review 2:The room with a balcony and sea view was very special, the friendliness of Francesco, Johnnie and Tony - these staff could not have been more helpful. Ten minutes walk to the beach, fantastic restaurants within 2 minutes' walk. Good breakfast. Very reasonable price, We had 3 days prior to our flight home and this hotel was a lovely discovery.

Review 3:A nice find In a little seaside town of Santa Marinella, about a 40 minute ride north of Rome. Tucked away in a cozy circle, our room had a great ocean view! The room was simple, but spacious and clean. Friendly staff. All of this for less than 100 euro a night!

Review 4:No screens on the doors/windows so mosquitoes were able to come into the room. It would have been nice to leave the doors open to hear the ocean all night.

Review 5:View and balcony from the room. Quiet little town that was a nice stop during our drive down the coast

Review 6:- Moscquitoes

Review 7:- Great place, just on the beach - Nice and friendly staff - We took sea-view room so in the morning you enjoy sunshine, sea and palm trees from your balcony!

Review 8:Too short

Review 9:We have stayed at Hotel L'Isola many times in the past. Francesco is a welcoming host and offers accommodation that is consistently clean and comfortable.

Review 10:The staff, my room with a beautiful view to the sea, the location - an easy walk to the beach and to the port, the friendliness of the people in the area.

Review 11:Pillows were very hard,

Review 12:The reception by "johnnie", was wonderful, clean room, beautiful view on balcony, wine cheese and meat dinner with a sunset. Breakfast was very nice and plentiful. This was in early October not much beach traffic

Review 13:Lovely hotel, beautiful view, picturesque location. Perfect for a romantic weekend together. Breakfast was excellent, local restaurants were wonderful, and the hotel staff were always ready to help. We're already planning our next visit!

Review 14:Just small think - restaurant right underneath the window very noisy till late at nite. It's ok if you stay up as well, but boring us we're in bed by 11, so it was bit tiring.

Review 15:Beautiful little village, very quiet outside season, but that's what we wanted. Hotel very central but away from main street, short walk to the beach, an hour on train to Rome. Helpful staff, nice breakfast.

Review 16:Narrow steep stairs no lift, not great for the elderly but staff were helpful. Poor plumbing in the bathroom, smallest shower cubicle built for petite Italians , which also leaked.

Review 17:The hotel was located right on the front, our room which was large, had a perfect sea view. Staff particularly helpful, good location for the Marina and public beach. Lovely breakfast room, very good buffet breakfast.

Review 18:Very clean, large room with small terrace and view of Mediterranean. The largest room we stayed, in Italy. Bathroom and shower area also spacious. Lots of closet space to unpack.

Review 19:A hike to get to the beach, it was dirty and no rent-able chairs. Very small variety of restaurants and shops Very little to see in walk distance

Review 20:Close to the airport Driving distance to nearby attractions

Review 21:Not one complaint!!

Review 22:Our stay at this adorable little hotel in a very good location was made even better because of the exceptionally friendly staff. The breakfast that was included with the stay was excellent and they even set out the entire breakfast 30 minutes early on the morning of our departure because they knew we were leaving early for a flight home. I would go back to Santa Marinella in a heartbeat and would definitely go back to Hotel l'Isola. There also is an exceptionally awesome restaurant right next door to this hotel.

Review 23:Hotel is great. Was impossible to get taxi from cruise port to S.Marinella. Lugged luggage thru 2 shuttles and a train ride and then walked to hotel from station. On positive note, hotel reception was upset that we had walked from train station and he wished we would have called and he would have sent someone to get us so we would not have had to walk from station. Suggest setting up transportation from cruise port prior to debarkation.

Review 24:Wonderful staff Beautiful view of the sea Breakfast included Very clean Lovely little hotel with less than 10 rooms. Staff wonderful. Breakfast starts at 730am, but they had it all ready for 645am because we had to leave at 715am for the airport. Our little balcony overlooking the sea was awesome. Fridge in room and rooms have A/C.

Review 25:We requested one room with three beds (four of us). I added a note that Stated we had a young child & wanted to include her when getting breakfast. We were pleasantly surprised that our room included four beds. The staff was very friendly and suggested places to eat and sites to see. Very clean and comfortable.

Review 26:Sound insulation wasn't great, but I imagine that is pretty standard in buildings in that area. Wifi was also a bit spotty at times. When it worked, it was great, but sometimes the connection would drop for significant amounts of time.

Review 27:Lovely little hotel. We had a great view overlooking the sea, our room was clean and comfortable and the staff was very friendly.

Review 28:Perfect location. We had a one of the best rooms - with two balconies: one with marvellous see view and another one with a square view. Close to train station (to Rome, to Civitavecchia), restaurants, supermarket. There is a long see shore, but almost all beaches are paid. Free beach is too tiny and rocky. We enjoyed our stay here!

Review 29:Poor breakfast

Review 30:Balkony and sea view

Review 31:Out of Season the town is very disappointing

Review 32:Lovely ,inexpensive and recently refurbished

Review 33:Breakfast average, bathroom poor, only local TV,no satellite stations.

Review 34:Great location and staff

Review 35:Friendly, helpful staff, great location.

Review 36:Staff very accomadating. Clean and spacious room

Review 37:The square around the hotel with bars and restaurants is great.

Review 38:Everything was perfect, as always. We had a great stay. Great service in the breakfast room too!

Review 39:Lovely warm welcome from Francesco. Very nice, comfortable , spacious room. Great service in the breakfast room, good coffee.

Review 40:The location, city center.

Review 41:For our first night in Italy, it was perfect. Small walkable town and our room had a balcony view of the Mediterranean.

Review 42:Staff is very forthcoming

Review 43:Great place to shake off jag lag and enjoy the Italian coast - very nice small hotel with a great restaurant next door!

Review 44:Nothing

Review 45:Everything

Review 46:Bath rooom is too small

Review 47:Hotel staffs proved an excellent support.

Review 48:wifi signal not strong enough

Review 49:everything. from staff to inside decorations. get the room with sea view, it's totally worth it.

Review 50:The view to the beach was great. Stuff really friendly. Nice restaurants just in front of the hotel.

Review 51:Nothing, except for the distance to the beach (about six blocks).

Review 52:Breakfast over all! Three good restaurants a few steps away (one of them -just next door-really excellent). Very clean, quiet and confortable room (in the "annex" of the hotel).

Review 53:Avoid the restaurant which has seating actually in the square - awful service, awful food - we walked out in the end - has to be the worst pizza in Italy and the fish never even arrived.

Review 54:10 minutes walk from Train station in pleasant square. Santa Marinella is very Italian and the beach (private and paying) is excellent with superb sandy shore and slowly shelving bay protected by rocks. The beach is 15 minutes walk away. Very helpful staff and breakfast good. Restaurant next door is very good, as is the one on the main road on the other side of the square.

Review 55:The bathroom was a little bit tired but everything was clean.

Review 56:It's ideally situated for a return or pick up from Rome Fiumicino Airport. There are restaurants near by and our room had views out onto palm trees and the sea.

Review 57:It was problem with almost everything when me and my wife we was there. The Wi-Fi breaked down and suddenly we hade to move the car away from the parking because of a cityfestival. I don´t know and understand why that wasn´t known when we arrived? The owner seems to be a good guy but I think he should consider to upgrade the staff. Only Italian channels on the TV.

Review 58:The view from the room.

Review 59:Charming wonderful staff. Great bfast wonderful little town Great value for the $$$$$/€€€€€. Waited up for us til 3 am because of flight delay. Don't miss it

Review 60:The place smelled and was not very clean.

Review 61:Location was close to Rome so we could fly out the next morning. The view was quite nice from the balcony in our particular room.

Review 62:Everything else is a disaster from the fact that u need to carry luggage upstears with no elevator to the beds that are impossible to sleep if u taller then 5 feet

Review 63:Location

Review 64:Weak wi-fi signal in our room, our bed was made of 2 single beds and one of us had to sleep in the hole between 2 beds :)

Review 65:Reception guy and singing rooms service girl, seaview at the balcony, rooms design, breakfast croissants and fruits

Review 66:Owner was excellent, really helpful. The room was basic but clean and comfortable. Included buffet breakfast was very good and freshly made. Recommended.

Review 67:The room was cold as most houses in Italy during winter time.

Review 68:Nice little hotel in the middle of the city and just at the beach a little bit away from the main road and traffic noise. Nice staff.

Review 69:Hotel is conveniently located in the center of Santa Marinella. There is a nice restaurant right behind it. Large and clean room, beautiful view of Tyrrhenian sea. Service is very friendly and helpful. Wonderful place to stay on the way to Rome or on vacations.

Review 70:nothing!

Review 71:Friendly family run hotel with great sea views. Bianca on reception was extremely helpful. Nice quiet location, good restaurant next door, 10 mins walk to railway station with regular service to Rome.

Review 72:Really nice rooms. Really open, kind and friendly staff. Nice location with sea view. Plenty of good restaurants. More than one option for beach, rock and sand just 10 min walking from hotel. Train station 10 min walking from htl with train which takes you in 50min to the center of Rome.

Review 73:Had another great stay at L'Isola. The staff and owner of the hotel are all very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent. Our balcony overlooked the castle garden -- beautiful!

Review 74:This hotel was perfect. It was the cheapest hotel in santa marinella with the best location. This was a stop off for us before Rome having driven from Florence and we couldn't have been more spoilt! Our room had two windows both with sea views (we know we were lucky there!) but the bed was comfy the room big and clean and the staff were extremely kind and helpful. There is a market outside the hotel on Thursday morning but we did not hear a thing. Parking was easy too. The beach was no more than a 10minute walk away where we enjoyed sitting in the evening and the following day. There was a supermarket on the way selling fresh produce so we bought a picnic for lunch! The restaurant next to the hotel is also lovely.

Review 75:Air conditioning unit was really loud and we could not sleep properly. Switch off: far too hot and you cant sleep; Switch on: far too loud and you cant sleep so you dont win with this aircon. :) Wireless works only in the small reception area and very slow. Mattress wasn't the best to be honest. This hotel is affordable but definitely not the best value of money as previously explained we couldn't sleep properly; if they sort the aircons out then it would be 10X better in every point.

Review 76:Staff was absolutely lovely and helpful, they are all great! We had a little balcony with a simple but lovely sea and garden view. Breakfast was rich and clean. Brilliant location, easy access. Air-conditioning (it can be a negative as well as it was so loud we couldn't sleep).

Review 77:No lift, bags had to be carried up to the rooms.

Review 78:Older hotel but well located and clean. The staff were very obliging and the nearby restaurants fabulous. A perfect lay-over if traveling or several days when the suns out.

Review 79:We arrived a bit late but the hotel staff waited for us to arrive. The girl at the desk spoke perfect English and was very accommodating, even moving her car so that we'd have a place to park. The room was very clean and breakfast was heavenly. Great seafood restaurant right next door.

Review 80:This was a very nice hotel with friendly and helpfull people.Lovely pictures in the rooms and waking up seeing the sea and green nature straight ahead was also a pleasant way of waking up. Also the bright colours in the breakfastroom a bright start of the day. Will definitely be back!

Review 81:Be warned, there are quite a few nice restaurants, but most of them don't open until 8pm

Review 82:The spectacular sea view for starters. The room was light and airy with lovely pictures. The hotel is comfortable, colourful and the staff were friendly and helpful. It's 5 minutes walk from the station or the beach. There are just enough local shops to be interesting, without it being too much. We found the trains and bus easy to use. An excellent hotel in an excellent location for a 2 day stopover.

Review 83:Furnishing and décor a bit dated. No ironing facilities / clotheswashing facilities. Tea & coffee making facilities not available inall rooms.

Review 84:Very friendly helpful staff sea views clean spacious rooms locationin the town

Review 85:Very helpful staff Delightful hotel Very well situated for catching our cruise ship from Civitavecchia

Review 86:Great,friendly and helpful staff. Excellent location.

Review 87:The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. We had only one night, on our way up north. We'll be back when we can stay longer! Grazia!

Review 88:Perfect value for money. Friendly staff and a superb view of the Mediterranean

Review 89:The breakfast could have a little more variety

Review 90:The view is beautiful

Review 91:Perfect hotel

Review 92:I would give this hotel 5out of 8 The breakfast was not any good The bedroom and. Bathroom were not at all very comfortable

Review 93:nothing.
