Reviews for Veranda Natural Resort

Review 1:The noise from above deafening. We could hear pounding footsteps and furniture scraping overhead from 6am. Also the shower was not clean when we arrived- taps etc. dirty.

Review 2:The beautiful view and lovely garden. The spa was fantastic and I had the best massage of my life there. The staff were very helpful in getting us organised for the boat to Phu Quoc. Overall the hotel has a lovely feel.

Review 3:Find hard to criticise. Maybe the free wifi was a little slow.

Review 4:The staff were wonderful. Especially the breakfast and dinner staff. The meals are always fresh and well presented. The room we stayed in for 6 nights (cliff 8) iwas the best room we have ever stayed in at a resort. The ability to relax and explore Kep and Kompot was primarily as a result of the excellent sleep we got. Loved the infinity pool as it was not too crowded.

Review 5:The room we had was very disappointing and not worth the extremly high price we paid. The beds were hard and small, there was no safe in the room, there were power black outs at least 10 times or more in one night. One lasted for 20 minutes while we were trying to get ready for dinner. The staff and management were fairly unhelpful and you really just felt like another number being herded in and out. Also we were not given the complimentary welcome drink and fruit basket on arrival and even after we spoke to management about this, they still didn't provide these. We ended up checking out 2 days early and went to another hotel which was half the price and a million times better.

Review 6:The view from the pool overlooking the sea (I wouldn't call it an infitity pool though).

Review 7:hummmm.... because the resort is built environment friendly you might have chance to get astonished by unknown bugs...

Review 8:Everything is petfect. The environment, service, food etc. Wanna come again if I have chance to visit Kap for sure.

Review 9:Nothing

Review 10:The Veranda was one of the most beautiful resorts I've stayed at, the staff and facilities were second to none and I would recommend this resort to anyone including families

Review 11:The reception staff were unfriendly and sometimes rude. It affected our stay. Maybe because we didn't tip??

Review 12:The location is amazing! And the crab market is wonderful.

Review 13:Lots of bugs. Bad access road up hill. Staff seemed bored. No atmosphere in bar come dining area. Expensive.

Review 14:Picturesque jungle retreat. Amazing food. Large spacious room.

Review 15:I couldn't turn off one of the lights, so couldn't sleep properly. I tried to make a complaint when checked out, but the response was like "you can do it on website"...

Review 16:The nature surrounding the resort, nature-friendly environment of the resort, and the spectacular sunset

Review 17:The A/C in our room wasn't very strong and we felt hot. It was in the hottest time of year, and the room was big, but for my hard-earned money I need to buy cool. There were some communication issues at time that I wouldn't expect for the cost.

Review 18:This was a return visit for me, so obviously I liked it. Staff is friendly, and the views were amazing.

Review 19:This is a perfect place to stay if you can afford it! We stayed in "wooden bungalow" which was spacious, had a beautiful view and had a/c

Review 20:restaurant food was overpriced and in our view average.

Review 21:the rooms were clean and spacious, the pool areas were quite luxurious, Kep is a really interesting area and the hotel assisted with arranging reasonably priced day trips

Review 22:this hotel is beautiful. The rooms are all tucked away in little private sanctuaries, the pools georgeus and there is no better place to watch the sunset in Cambodia.

Review 23:Quite expensive by Cambodian standards. Other travellers with noisy children not considering other pool users who went there to relax. Shower water went all across bathroom floor.

Review 24:Pools. Lovely Room and privacy of rooms. Restaurant and view from restaurant. General setting. Proximity to crab market. Happy hour by the pool.

Review 25:The noisy water pump attached to our villa I dont think all the rooms have this, so it might be worth finding out before you book your room. Running out of towels in the garden pool area ( 3 consecutive days), but this could be from greedy patrons who take 2 or 3 at a time ir take them to their rooms.

Review 26:The construction and layout of the hotel is amazing, it is built from lots of natural materials. Rocks, shells, pebbles and trees are used to create walkways, passages and rooms. The two pools are fantastic & the views at sunset from the infinity pool are breathtaking.

Review 27:Outside our room..water pump banged, difficult to sleep..room dark,.paid $135 Canadian ..over priced ..for the room we had...location up hill not near beach...

Review 28:Some things to like...the infinitety pool..the manager was friendly and open. Breakfast was fine. Family friendly lots of kids

Review 29:Great rooms, great facilities, great staff, great food, fantastic view. What more could you want? We were a group of 4 friends and we took a family suite which was perfect.

Review 30:A bit too gimmicky. All the stone walkways, staircases, labyrinthine corridors, etc. get stale fast. The actual room and furnishings are mediocre at best and much of the property is getting run down. At night, even with the windows closed and the a/c on, you can hear traffic on the road that runs along the coast. It's also expensive and noisy in the room, especially for what you get.

Review 31:Nice open air shower and great views. It's right near one of the main trails through the national park.

Review 32:Construction going on as the resort continues to expand at times ruined the serenity however it was never loud for long and never at night. Prices for food and drink more expensive than other locations throughout Cambodia.

Review 33:Huge room with huge balcony and outdoor bathroom... some may find the outdoor toilet with no door, and the outdoor shower a bit intimidating however I loved it - shower looks out over the National Park and ocean. Resort has great food although a bit pricey compared to other areas, and two excellent pools to relax by. Staff were helpful.

Review 34:- there was no sun in private pool area - there were only 2 sun beds - staff was evidently not happy with their job and one waitress was obviously working while sick (throwing up and coughing while working at breakfast tables)

Review 35:- spacious villa - cleanliness - breakfast - both public pools - peace

Review 36:nothing

Review 37:Very friendly staff good amenities First impressions were a it dubious but the hotel "grows" on you. We would happily stay there again

Review 38:Lovely rooms and beautiful pool, nice, helpful people, wonderful ambiance and great croissants and coffee. We arrived tired after a long trip and this was a real refuge surrounded by trees over looking the sea. We would definitely go back again.

Review 39:the road up to the resort is in bad shape and not lightened at night

Review 40:infinity pool, very friendly & helpful staff, awesome resort style with all facilities blended wonderfully with the nature

Review 41:The breakfast buffet was rather disappointing, considering the high standard of the resort. We especially suffered due to the lack of drinkable coffee or tea! That was really our only complaint.

Review 42:My friend and I were knocked out by the aesthetic qualities of the resort. Such attention to detail in the design of all the buildings, pools and other amenities. After the dust, chaos and ramshackle buildings of the nearby town and villages, the Veranda felt like an oasis! We also loved the Happy Hour cocktails on the veranda - and the beautiful Infinity Pool!

Review 43:Having to leave!

Review 44:There is something really special about this hotel, it has all the modern facilities you want but with a certain 1950's style and charm. We were pleasantly surprised by the size of our 2 bedroom suite which had a beautiful open outdoor living space, both bedrooms were equally as nice instead of the usual master bedroom and smaller second room. Both pools are lovely but the infinity pool is exceptional with views of the jungle all around. We will definitely go back when we return to Cambodia.

Review 45:Electrical problem in room but received immediate attention and given compensation for inconvenience.

Review 46:Rooms are spacious. Environmentally friendly. Breakfast full on. Beautiful grounds.

Review 47:The bed was ridiculously hard - we got no sleep at all the first night. Unfortunately, soft best are impossible to find in SE Asia, but this bed was particularly solid. The wifi was pretty terrible inside the room, but fine in common areas.

Review 48:A beautiful place to stay, engulfed by jungle I even saw an animal from our bathroom window - just an ear and a tail before it hit from sight though. The details in this place are amazing - a clamshell for a soap dish, seashells as light covers. Even the toiletries are beautiful. The views are unsurpassed - from our room (Cliff residence), bathroom, and especially from the infinity pool. I could have lived in that pool. Just amazing. That pool is the best viewing spot for Kep's amazing skies and sunsets. Great cocktails (served from the restaurant or poolside bars) and lovely food. Although I did get hospitalised as a result of one meal, but the staff handled this relatively well and it was due to a bad crab - luck of the draw I guess. Our other meals were amazing - maybe just stick to eating crab on the shorefront where they pull the crab straight out of the sea. HIGHLY recommended. Although I've been to Kep twice now, we're considering coming back, just so that we can spend more time at Veranda.

Review 49:too many steps as its on a hill. Also rooms weren't cleaned well enough, dirty floors

Review 50:pool was good as was the food and drink although a little pricey

Review 51:The reception area was a bit of disappointment in check in. Gave us second thoughts at arrival. The check in staff are not particularly welcoming for some reason. One guy in particular had attitude. The rest of the staff are very warm, friendly and helpful.

Review 52:Barbara in Guest Relations was a delight. The infinity pool was awesome. Breakfasts were a standout.

Review 53:I stayed here two years ago and raved about it. Since then, the prices have gone up 30% and the standards have gone down which is very frustrating. The place is one big construction site at the moment and is loud and feels dirty yet I was paying a ridiculous amount of money for accommodation in Cambodia in low season. We decided to splurge for a few nights even though we couldn't afford it and we really regretted it :(

Review 54:The rooms are lovely if you get the right one and the relax areas outside are great. The infinity pool was also nice.

Review 55:Fantastic design and location, very good and helpfull staff

Review 56:Something odd abput the room

Review 57:Swimming pool

Review 58:None

Review 59:Environment

Review 60:Hot water in my room seemed to go off and on and the AC doesn't seem to cool down the room

Review 61:Wish we could stay longer

Review 62:everything

Review 63:Wonderful place with an amazing see view. Charming labyrinth of wood bridges under the trees. 2 nice swimming pools. Delicious breakfast.

Review 64:Tres nature !!!

Review 65:Quiet location. Relaxing ambience. Perfect getaway far from the crazy crowds. Amazing infinity pool.

Review 66:Wi-Fi could not be connected in room.

Review 67:Good location and the staff there is very kind and friendly.

Review 68:large villa. enjoy swimming and good food.

Review 69:Everything

Review 70:English level limited

Review 71:Room see sight swimmingpools Spa service peaceful place

Review 72:The menu of the restaurant could be better

Review 73:Happy hut and lulu team was great

Review 74:The whole experience was excellent . The staff was professional courteous and very efficient The facility was exceptional

Review 75:Nothing negative!

Review 76:Closeness to local National Park was a bonus The German and French lady hostesses were charming.

Review 77:Great stay. We loved it

Review 78:the whole experience was enjoyable

Review 79:Pool was dirty

Review 80:Spa Staff were so friendly

Review 81:There is nothing that I didn't like!

Review 82:I like everything about the Verandah. The staff were friendly and helpful. The location superb!

Review 83:my second visit there, very happy with everything.

Review 84:No negatives for us.

Review 85:We had a great stay at Veranda Natural Resort - we enjoyed our time there we extended our stay by two nights. The resort has everything you could want with great views, pool(s) (although one was being remodelled at the time we were there), restaurant, areas to sit and chill out, power points and internet connection right throughout the property so you can work while relaxing!! A variety of room styles are available. The staff are attentive and if you have any request whatsoever they are quick to respond and assist. Positioned well on the hill and next to the National Park. A short walk to the Crab Market, Sailing Club and the central Kep shops and beach.

Review 86:I could not connect to the Wifi from my room. But that was a good way to disconnect and relax.

Review 87:Great hotel, friendly and helpfull staff. Breakfast was good enough for Cambodian standards.

Review 88:Awesome hotel, in all respects. Great rooms and villas design, comfort, staff service. Varied and delicious breakfast with amazing views of nature, nice swimming pool and fantastic atmosphere. Totally recommendable.

Review 89:The location is beautiful: fruit trees, views of the sea and Kep National Park. The whole resort is built into the landscape using local materials. Views are spectacular. The staff are all especially lovely. Massages were more expensive than elsewhere but excellent and worth the cost. We stayed for two weeks, which is unusual, and enjoyed the wonderful food and the whole experience. It is a very special place.

Review 90:No relevant negative points, although we found the food in the restaurant slightly overpriced, and the swimming pool could be a little bit cleaner.

Review 91:The place is great for a relaxing holiday. The staff are very helpful and extremely welcoming, in particular their German PR (whose name I forgot). Highly recommended.

Review 92:The service is very slow, even by South-East Asia standards. There is nowi-fi in the rooms, despite the hotel advertising it in all areas. Myhusband got ill after eating one of the items from the restaurant menu(but I also ate from the restaurant and I did not get sick at all so itwas most likely just that one menu item). The credit-card machine didnot work upon checkout, and it took longer than necessary for the hotelstaff to come up with an appropriate payment option.

Review 93:The resort has a lovely ambiance, with the "treehouse" thememaking it feel as if you're on an adventure. The bungalow rooms havea quirky and fun design. The breakfast is great.

Review 94:The food quality falls below the standard of the hotel. Front-desk staff seemed uncertain about the hotel procedures (check-in)

Review 95:Attention to detail in the design of the hotel. Spaciousness of the rooms.

Review 96:We didn't like the fact that all bungalows/villas were easily accessible by lizzards, spiders and musquitos. It's a vivid place next to a national park, but when boasting this type of services, it should be able to keep critters out of the room. Check the edges of doors and windows for cracks and gaps.

Review 97:We loved the surroundings and the design-type of the resort. It was simply stunning.

Review 98:Everything! The location, the setting, the rooms and villas, the swimming pool, the terrace - everything was wonderful! We enjoyed every single minute at the Veranda. The staff was also very kind to upgrade us to a larger house, since they had space and availability. The whole experience at the Veranda was fantastic.

Review 99:Distance from the beach and the steep road up to the hotel, poor tuktuk drivers.

Review 100:Loved the rosewood room and the huge amount of space. The open airrestaurant was great for the balmy evenings and the swimming pool wasquite exceptional.

Review 101:There should be more sun beds at the pool

Review 102:Hotel was an oasis after 10 days of touring and sightseeing. Food in the restaurant was very good, and a lot for you to choose from on the breakfast buffet.

Review 103:They are over booked and down grade our booking. Later we got upgrade for thr first night, but still downgrade for the 2nd night. There are owner's or resort's dogS running around freely in the hotel, especialy in the restaurant. One of them obviously got skin disease. And one of the dog ran over to my 5 year old girl and nut her down. Not impressed at all about the dog problem.

Review 104:Great hotel. Good food. Very relaxing.

Review 105:Really nothing at all.

Review 106:Location was amazing. Such natural beauty. Hard to get to from airport. But worth it

Review 107:No towel hooks in bathroom,

Review 108:The uniqueness of the accommodation (we stayed in bungalow 4) , views at breakfast, attentive, friendly staff

Review 109:A bit expensive, especially massage services.

Review 110:Nice views. Pleasant restaurant and good food at a reasonable price. Carefully decorated

Review 111:Coming home.

Review 112:It was relaxing, great food, great service, location perfect.

Review 113:WiFi network

Review 114:Staff service, food

Review 115:Evrything was perfect

Review 116:The calmness, the silnce, the smiling and friendly approach from the staff, the set up, the overall nature

Review 117:The water of pool very cold

Review 118:Thé view on the sea

Review 119:the pillows could be much more comfortable.

Review 120:Hotel architecture, the location, the incredible food

Review 121:Beautiful place, very nice service and excellent pool. All that you need for great holiday!

Review 122:Everything was brillant staff and rooms were excellent.
