Reviews for Kep Lodge

Review 1:Only that the visa payment had to be made off site. This was not a problem but advice would have been useful.

Review 2:The tropical setting and the sympathetically designed dwellings. The staff were lovely. And the pool refreshing.

Review 3:Staff and owner all amazingly friendly and helpful, great rooms, lovely food, beautiful surroundings... I have nothing negative to say, Kep Lodge is superb.

Review 4:Hard to get what we wanted due to a poor English understanding. Given the price we paid we were expecting a much better service (to be fair, the same could be said about many other places in the country). The kitchen closes quite early.

Review 5:The place is nice (pool, beautiful garden) and conveniently located.

Review 6:I was in the most basic bungalow, which i soon found out had no AC, and no mosquito screens on the windows. The bathroom was very basic with no hot water. The lodge is quite a way from the crab market/ beach.

Review 7:Fantastic staff, very welcoming and helpful Good food Beautiful views

Review 8:My son's room was well below standard, with malfunctioning air conditioner (that we paid for him to specifically have) and primitive toilet. Resident dogs roam the property and took over his verandah, sleeping and fighting. Electricity, particularly during the day is very unreliable.

Review 9:For a quiet out of the way place, this fits the bill. Nice location backing onto the National Park with relatively easy access to the well maintained walking track. Staff try their best with limited resources that it seems the owner is willing to pay for.

Review 10:The owner was not present during our stay. Then, the remaining staff behaviour has been terrible. Dogs were walking in the hotel, kids of the family were listening music loudly, the staff was quietly relaxing in the hammock, the swimming pool was dirty.... We could list more very negative points but it is not necessary to do it. To conclude, it has been very disappointing !!!

Review 11:The location was fine in the jungle even if it is not at walking distance from the city center.

Review 12:The toilets did not work, the pillows were too big, the linen was old and too small for the bed, some members of the staff seemed unsure of what they were doing, no music!

Review 13:Peaceful location with beautiful view of the sea, the pool, easy trip to town, hospitality of Phakadai.

Review 14:Restaurant at the hotel expensive. The wifi didn't work that much from the room. Swimming pool didn't seem clean.

Review 15:The room was clean, big enough, nice balcony/hammac, lots of plugs and coffee/tea at disposal. Nice breakfast. nice swimming pool area. Beautiful view and nice common area.

Review 16:It was a bit far to walk to the crab market and Kep beach, but tuk tuks are always available. Our room could have done with an update and a good clean. Did not appreciate dogs roaming through the seating areas and also in the kitchen

Review 17:It was a great way to end our stay in Cambodia. Lovely breezes on our balcony and great food in the restaurant.

Review 18:shower was cold.when we complained owners answer was, what do you expect, its 38 degrees outdoors.to our surprise he said he knew about this before we arrived but couldnt get the part needed.he didnt change our room even though there were rooms empty.we found him to be guite rude

Review 19:lady owner was lovely, very welcoming,as were the staff

Review 20:Lovely 'Jungle' feel to location and with great view over hillside down to the sea. Quiet with beautifully kept gardens. Good design and affords privacy and comfort.

Review 21:Rooms very basic and unclean. Linen was old and somewhat unclean. Owner Dan was very dodgy and guests witnessed staff mistreatment and drunkiness by him.

Review 22:Pool and gardens were very tranquil. Staff were very friendly and accommodating.

Review 23:Terrible management, very rude lady ' boss'. No efpos/extra fees. Pool very dirty, filter not repaired and got ear infection. Leaking bathroom roof, broken toilet, moldy pillows.

Review 24:A lovely property perched on hill overlooking pool and coastline with rustic bungalows. Nice food and friendly staff.

Review 25:This is the best location in Kep. The beautiful gardens keep you constantly surrounded by color and sea view is fantastic. It is the perfect location for chilling and relaxing. The staff were always helpful and the food excellent.

Review 26:The internet connection is good, but sometimes fails. Hot water is available, but the stream in not very strong. If you like to pay with credit card, it is doable but they take you by motobike to another lodge, around 1 km away, so be ready for ride!

Review 27:Kep Lodge is nice oasis not far from Kep city. The houses (bungolows) are nice small houses, wide bed and good AC. The breakfast in good and you can select between fried eggs and scrambled ones and some other options. The pool is great, to hang around it is real pleasure, towels are provided. If you like to go to Crab Market for dinner, the tuktuk is 2 USD. But you can lunch and dine also in Kep Lodge, the kitchen is very good and prices are around 7 USD. You can rent motobike for 8 USD/day. Nice staff, very helpful and probably you will meet the owner from Switzerland also.

Review 28:The staff speaks good English and is very attentive. Breakfast is very nice and well cared for and the food in the restaurant is also delicious. The design of the restaurant and swimming pool is very beautiful.

Review 29:We were a bit puzzled by some of the staff, they didn't seem to know who we were, if we'd paid our stay and when we were leaving, even though the resort isn't THAT big. During our stay, we were asked 5 times if we'd paid for our room and drinks and this was done by 4 different staff members. Of course it's great that they want to make sure all is handled, but for example we were having evening cocktails on the veranda and 3 different staff members came to ask if we'd paid, which felt a bit disturbing (we'd paid on arrival).

Review 30:We loved our stay in Kep Lodge. We stayed in a bungalow with our own porch. The bungalow was very clean and comfortable and the porch was great in the evenings and mornings - it is very private as the garden is very lush and besides being very beautiful to look at, it offers also good privacy. Although the lodge is a 15 minute walk away from the centre, it's a nice and easy walk and there are also free bicycles for hotel guests, although they are a bit on the heavy and squeaky side, so I don't recommend them for more than a ride downtown. We got excellent service from the local woman who did there morning shifts. She arranged a great scooter rental deal for us and was very smart and efficient. The pool is superb and we wished we would have stayed a day more to just enjoy lounging around it. Breakfast was also excellent, we didn't have time to enjoy the dinners, but seems like there's a really good chef in the kitchen. There's access to the jungle from Kep Longe gardens, which is very handy, although we didn't have time to explore the nature reserve. Also the information given for activities around the area was very thorough. Kep Lodge was an excellent stay because it is also one of those rare hotels/lodges, where you actually want to spend time other than just stay for the sleep.

Review 31:The internet connection in my room had occasional hickups. In the Restaurant and other places the connection was reliable and fast. If you have laundry, bring it early to get it done in time.

Review 32:I really enjoyed my stay. The room is spacious and so is the terrace overlooking the jungle-like garden and the sea. The pool is inviting and clean and the tasty food (even swiss specialties are served) made me kinda feel home.

Review 33:sloppy housekeeping, intrusive dogs

Review 34:Attractive gardens, nice view from top floor of restaurant.

Review 35:Not well maintained....and poor wifi reception!

Review 36:I like the location...at the foot of the Mountain...close to nature!

Review 37:Pool

Review 38:Everything was a bit sloppy and don't well taken care of. Pool was dirty. Many things in the menu were not available.
