Reviews for Baglio Dello Zingaro

Review 1:Some rooms are much better than others. Our balcony was directly above the main entrance so not very private!

Review 2:Great place, lovely pool and friendly staff. We would book here again! The area is beautiful and there are lots of places to eat within easy walking distance. I would recommend a car though as the beach is not really close enough to walk and there are several, more beautiful beaches a short drive away. Hotel itself is clean and comfortable.

Review 3:No bar at the pool, water was cloudy, no free towel ( this might be a norm for this area.) few of the stuff seem very unfriendly.

Review 4:Close to the centre of the village, view to the mountains, hotel was quiet.

Review 5:A friendly welcoming smile costs nothing. Somebody should have explained that to the lady, Ornella, at the reception of this hotel. No service, unfriendly attitude, a permanent feeling of not being welcome… Every question is being answered with a grim look, the muttering of what seems to be Italian swear words and deep sighs. It seemed to me that this girl is the daughter of the owner who, not being given a choice of what to do with her life, is being forced to work here. Her colleague Guicy that sat behind the desk the other days was friendly and smiled, but was terrified to talk about our problems or take any decision. And since the front desk staff were not able to solve our queries, requesting to talk to the manager was the only option left. We did so for 3 days in a row, but he never showed up. Never faced directly the problems of his clients... And there were a few problems, like the cleanliness of the pool. We noticed that many parents were taking their infants in the pool without proper diapers, I informed at the front desk about pool regulations. There were none, was the stunning answer. “Guests are free to do what they want.” When confronted with a picture of human waste in the pool (taken right AFTER its daily cleaning) they simply said that it was from a dog!! Improbable since I was watching the cleaning process from my balcony and was the first client entering the pool area after the "cleaning". Me myself removed the excrement with a piece of paper. I am aware that things can go wrong in every hotel, that's life but an active, visible manager and a friendly front desk manager could take 99% of the irritation away.Due to these problems and our great discomfort, we wanted to get out of the place as soon as possible and modified our reservation. We felt forced to leave and still they wanted us to pay a penalty of one night, which finally after contacting Booking.com with our complaints was not necessary.

Review 6:The views

Review 7:breakfast was excellent, views from hotel, perfect location in town, walk to Tonnara di Scopello, proximity to riserva del zingaro, friendly and helpful staff, easy parking, clean, good wifi

Review 8:Not the hotel's fault of course, but during our stay we had very noisy neighbours (kids running in the corridors etc), maybe the walls aren't sound proof enough. But still highly recommended.

Review 9:Location, quietness, 2-minute walk to a very cosy, local village with good restaurants. Very good atmosphere in general.

Review 10:very basic room with a slightly uncomfortable bed. Breakfast just meets the minimum bar, but is by no means a full spread

Review 11:cant beat the location... Just a three minute walk to the centre of town. Very friendly and helpful staff Great view as well... But it's not wide open given the buildings in front.

Review 12:Picturesque setting bordering natural reserve. A stone throw away from village main square with nice restaurants. Free private parking, rich breakfast, very friendly hosts

Review 13:Modern, pleasant hotel with clean, spacious and nicely decorated rooms. Great value. Very good breakfast. Excellent wifi. Free parking, and 2 minutes walk from centre of Scopello, with bars and restaurants. Close to the picturesque and peaceful historic Tonnara of Scopello (a disused tuna fishery), and 10 minutes by car to the town of Castelamare del Golfo.

Review 14:Room very small with little room to put clothes away. Would be good if food was available other than breakfast as we arrived very late and would have liked something to eat. Also no real bar as you would expect from an establishment rated as hotel.

Review 15:Very clean. Good location and great to have car park. Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast substantial with lots of choice and lovely coffee. Would definitely recommend.

Review 16:Could clearly hear guests talking in several adjacent rooms and the reception. Had booked six nights but checked out just before noon after one night having found alternative accommodation. The reception demanded to know why and agreed on the basis we paid for two nights.

Review 17:Adjacent parking

Review 18:The breakfast was good but could be a bit improved with the addition of traditional local products. Enough space in the room and bathroom but small shower. You need to move always by car to reach the several bays (due to the lack of dedicated pedestrian paths outside the central area)

Review 19:The staff taking care of the breakfast and one of the 3 ladies at Reception desk (Roberta) very kind and supportive. New facilities, very comfortable hotel and central location in Scopello

Review 20:The quality of service could improve if the hotel provide laundry services, at least access to a washing machine. In a hot weather we had to change our outfits twice a day. But we can't bring too much stuff from our homes.

Review 21:Location; friendly and helpful staff; environment; air-conditioning; tidiness; good menu for breakfast.

Review 22:The television is absurdly small. The fact that the hotel has tile floors makes noises in the hallway more amplified, but overall not bad.

Review 23:We ended up staying 3 extra night because I became very ill while in Scopello. The staff was very helpful and accommodating to us during my illness which made a very unpleasant illness much more tolerable. Great location next to a quaint town that has more to offer than what is seen at first glance.

Review 24:Location is isolated, within the tiny village of Scopello: great to spend a couple of nights there, but obviously a car is essential, wherever else you may want to go.

Review 25:Spotless clean. Nice outdoor breakfast. Sound-proof windows proved useful when a few noisy Yankees hit the swimming pool.

Review 26:We noticed that noise carried easily along the halls. We also felt the staff were not as cordial as good customer service would require.

Review 27:The location is great because it is in Scopello where there are good restaurants and shops. There is a lovely view as well. We enjoyed the breakfast which, in addition to many pastries and such, also offered meats and cheeses. Our room was basic and of good size. The bathroom was well done.

Review 28:- No meals other than breakfast - although plenty of decent restaurants in the village. - Nearest beach (short drive - long walk) is private/chargeable - very busy; limited shade and stringent rules which are rigourously enforced by security guard. Would not recommend... - Leaving!!

Review 29:- Pleasant air conditioned room with balcony and superb views. - Excellent breakfast - hotel has picture on-line which makes the breakfast seem somewhat modest - it's not! - Local village is charming and a 2 minute walk. - Swimming pool - small and shared with adjacent hotel but was never busy. - Staff friendly and helpful. - Free carpark opposite (with barrier) - Would definitely recommend and return - ticked all the boxes!

Review 30:A kettle would have been useful. More effective air con, even in november it was hot at night

Review 31:Staff very helpful. Comfy beds

Review 32:Nice Breakfast, very friendly staff

Review 33:Nice hotel, close to the National Park, close to good restaurants

Review 34:Helpful staff, hotel in interesting village near a national park.

Review 35:It was all good.

Review 36:Superb value for money. Closeness to lovely restaurant. Romantic little village was delightful..

Review 37:We liked the hotel itself and the surroundings. The hotel fits perfectly the outside scenery. The staff was nice.

Review 38:Pool was great. Town easily accessible and close to everything needed.

Review 39:Location

Review 40:Nice swimming pool to relax in a very well situated place. Nothing special but nice place.

Review 41:Clean neat place that is well located for walking to everything in Scopello

Review 42:location

Review 43:desk staff & breakfast need improving

Review 44:position & view

Review 45:The tile floors are very noisy. Women walking in high heeled shoes are very loud.

Review 46:Excellent breakfast. Great parking.

Review 47:None

Review 48:It was very early in the season so the village and the hotel was very quite which suited us. Staff were very friendly and were most helpful

Review 49:Tout fond it, no help un scopello

Review 50:Location, landscape around, place, parking

Review 51:Nothing

Review 52:Location Staff Clean Good breakfast

Review 53:My room was on the ground floor, very noisy in the morning

Review 54:Nice staff and very good breakfast, swimming pool is also very nice

Review 55:The bed was bouncy and just not the best.

Review 56:The location. The parking. The village. The day-time receptionist.

Review 57:Pleasent and helpfull Staff. Great suite. Nice breakfast and dinner. Easy parking and all was great!

Review 58:Wifi was poor.

Review 59:Location is very good however difficult to drive and get there. Nice pool and very clean hotel.

Review 60:The bar was very poor!!

Review 61:Quite hotel for relaxin!

Review 62:Very well run 3*, staff very helpful.

Review 63:N/A!!!

Review 64:Amazing views, stunning scenery. Perfect place to chill. Pool area tranquil and staff so kind and helpful. A week wasn't long enough!

Review 65:Extremely pleasant staff, great location and hearty breakfast.

Review 66:I couldn't get world cup matches on the TV in my room. The sport service was scrambled which was unnecessary

Review 67:Location was away from the village centre but close enough. Hotel was very clean and I thought breakfast was filling and very well laid out. Hotel decor was excellent.

Review 68:We liked everything about the hotel. But Scopello isn't that close to a beach or many shops so a car is very useful.

Review 69:Lovely peaceful location, friendly staff, great pool in a really nice village. A fab place to get away from it all.

Review 70:Scopello... It's not the hotel's fault but Scopello is not really a village, it consists of some very very overpriced restaurants and nothing more. The tonnara is a big disappointment. If you want dinner go somewhere else... But the hotel itself is a very good choice!

Review 71:We booked a standard room and I suppose we received one of the best rooms overlooking the pool and the see with a nice balcony! Everything was perfect, staff is very kind and helpful, thanks! Rooms clean, pool area excellent. Yes, if you stay a week perhaps breakfast could be boring but for 2 mornings it was absolutly Ok. And do not forget to ask for capuccino or espresso at the breakfast it's free! And do not miss the Zingaro Park!

Review 72:Interior of rooms feels a bit like a budget corporate hotel - not the place to go if you're looking for charm.

Review 73:Staff were nice. The hotel was very clean and functional. It was a 2 minute walk into Scopello, so also very convenient.

Review 74:The hotel closes end of October it was still excellent weather....?.! Pool unheated a tad chilly better to swim in sea which was still very warm

Review 75:Lovely place to relax and enjoy the Italian sunshine, easy to get to, lovely views, handy for local sightseeing and easy access to local beaches and road network for visiting other places.

Review 76:*I came down to breakfast 1 hour before it ended and they were out of many food items including all the meat, cheeses and yogurt and despite being checked by the attendant these things were not replaced. *While this hotel is very large, new and modern it lacks the charm of the village it is located in. Travelers may prefer one of the more authentic places to stay.

Review 77:*Located in a quaint village near the Zingaro Refuge a beautiful spot for hiking and swimming along the coast. *Wifi was free and worked well in the rooms! *Hotel was clean and staff were friendly.

Review 78:This hotel was excellent, the presentation and cleanliness throughout was faultless. Probably the best breakfast selection and quality on my 11 day trip around Sicily. The location is perfect for getting away from it all. If you enjoy walking and/or cycling this place is perfect for you. Scopello is a very charming place with nice places to eat . John and Kate from swanage who I had the pleasure of meeting for a drink a couple of nights, told me they have been there many times and it gets a few more locals visit at weekends and that adds to the atmosphere. I would definitely go back to the hotel and recommend it to everyone.

Review 79:80% of breakfast consists of sweets.

Review 80:Relaxing holiday, nice pool area, picturesque location. Scopello is a cute village and the beach next to Tonnaro is beautiful.

Review 81:Reception staff need to be warmer in their approach, breakfast staff was good though, breakfast items served was poor of choice, what a shame the pool is so small for the size of the property

Review 82:I liked the size of the room and toilets, it's near to the restaurants and the small pretty town of Scopelo, and also close to natural reserve excellent for tracking right by the sea

Review 83:The hotel is located in the outher limits of the cosy village Scopello. The hotel is clean and the staff helpfull. But the main attraktion is the village, not the hotel.

Review 84:Staff aren't terribly friendly.

Review 85:The hotel was very clean and well kept, and has a lovely pool. The room was comfortable and we were lucky enough to have a balcony overlooking the pool. The hotel is in a fantastic location, only a short walk to lots of good restaurants in the pretty village of Scopello. There is free secure parking at the hotel.Would definitely stay there again.

Review 86:Breakfast offerings were skimpy and only of fair quality. Swimming pool--under final steps of construction-- was not open. Hotel did not havebeach towels available-- said they were already all gone even though weasked around 9 am in the morning. A hotel at or near a beach shouldnever be out of beach towels.

Review 87:Very nice contemporary hotel and facilities. Gated, across-the-streetparking was a plus, as was the easy walk to the little town center andits bars and restaurants.

Review 88:The view from the room I stayed was not very interesting. But there aremany rooms with the nice view :-)

Review 89:It was calm place, nice for rest after city.

Review 90:The location was perfect. And when i return this year i will definetly be booking in again staff. Location. And views were all excellent.

Review 91:Friendly staff, good location, pleasant room with a view, easy, no fuss

Review 92:Very good Staff

Review 93:Nice stay with nice pool and sea view and good breakfast.

Review 94:Bad pellow, air conditioning very bad for room temperature. Shower sinking.

Review 95:Close to the center of scopello and to the nature park of zingaro. Comfortable room, good value for money.

Review 96:Good location, close to the village and the national park. Clean and the staff were friendly.

Review 97:A little bit bland.

Review 98:Great location in the centre of Scopello. Nice pool area.

Review 99:A little bare and needs a garden.

Review 100:Clean and easy to find.

Review 101:The hotel was fine, close to the old town of Scopello, the rooms were clean and comfortable.

Review 102:Local dogs barking.

Review 103:Large clean rooms. Good breakfast selection

Review 104:Scopello is a fantastic location if you like great food and crystal clean air.

Review 105:Amazing stay!
