Reviews for Daintree Rainforest Retreat Motel
Review 1:no air conditioning but understand that they were not on the grid
Review 2:location convenient quiet No views as we were in the bush Accommodation was basic but comfortable
Review 3:Nothing, this was a brilliant place.
Review 4:This was an amazing place to stay in the Daintree Rainforest. The resort was excellent value for money, with really good in room and shared facilities. The were made to feel bery welcome and the staff we fantastic.
Review 5:A really lovely spot. felt very welcomed. Breakfast was outstanding particularly exotic fruits. Very clean, relaxing very knowledgable about the area. Not far from Discovery Centre
Review 6:It's in a really good spot, can walk to pub although we didn't go there but I can see that being good for some. The couple running it are really friendly and helpful.
Review 7:No airconditioning No real privacy ( there is a glass sliding door at the front that you need to pull the curtains on for privacy, but then you probably would like some fresh air from outside. The breafast prices are too high ( recommend to drive a few minutes to the crocodilus motel 7:00 till 9:30 I think, (for dinner as well 18:30 till 19:30 only), for much more reasonable pricing, and huge dishes.
Review 8:Clean Nicely decorated The bed was comfortable
Review 9:It was magical being surrounded by rainforest, in peace and quiet, but within walking distance of hotel and ice creamery. Friendly hosts, passionate about area and fabulous in-house cook.
Review 10:We loved that it was peaceful and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Surrounded by the rainforest you hear all the wildlife particularly early in the morning. No excess traffic or street lights. Bonus limited internet which gives more time to enjoy the area.
Review 11:First time ever, I have NOTHING bad to say.
Review 12:The owner Margaret is one of the loveliest people I have ever met. The rooms were clean ( great maid ), the dinners were wonderful, great beds and location.
Review 13:Absolutely nothing, couldn't fault it.
Review 14:Outstanding welcome from people who are not only passionate about their Motel, but also about the special place that is Daintree. Although meals aren't available every night, when they are - don't miss them!
Review 15:Nil
Review 16:Everything. The room had all that I needed and more. The Managers-Margaret and her husband were extremely helpful and pleasant. Nothing was too much trouble and the place itself is a beautiful setting.
Review 17:Nice and quiet spot in the middle of the beautiful attractions around Cape Tribulation. The owner is very friendly and helpful and serves up very tasty meals! The lack of wi-fi adds to the sense of away-from-it-all.
Review 18:Staff were very friendly and helpful, and gave some great advice about local sights and attractions. Rooms were clean and comfortable and the facilities were great. Water was a bit cold in the shower, and took a long time to get warm, but the bathroom was neat as a pin. Close to the local pub, where meals were reasonably priced and the food was great. Would definitely recommend to friends and family.
Review 19:The breakfast was fantastic and the staff was so helpful with teaching us about the local fruits. Hanging out by the pool was nice and the staff had great tips about sightseeing and dinning.
Review 20:The owner was very friendly, helpful and enthusiastic about the Daintree rainforest - provided detailed suggestions about what she thought we should visit and even what would be best and different times of the day depending on the tides! Hotel room and swimming pool were clean. Night sky was amazing!
Review 21:nothing!!

Review 23:Hosts were very engaging and helpful with tips on how best to see the area in the time we had. Room was clean and well appointed for self-catering. Appreciated having coffee, tea, sugar and milk to cover our 2 nights. BBQ area excellent for our dinners. Grounds lovely and pool refreshing.

Review 25:Loved the location. Great for exploring around that area of the daintree. The owner was lovely and very knowledgeable. The room was very comfortable and looked out onto a beautiful tropical garden. Will be back again!
Review 26:No wifi in the rooms. But if you go to this type of location you probably don't want it anyway. There is wifi in the reception area.
Review 27:A hidden gem. The owners are fantastic and so helpful. Highly recommended. This was the coolest experience of my 3 weeks along the queensland coast.
Review 28:There was a hairdryer but no usual supplied toiletries (shampoo etc)
Review 29:It is actually in the middle of the rainforest so at nighttime you can lie in bed and listen to the wildlife
Review 30:Only hiccup was the hot water was slow to come on in the morning as it uses solar power/generator.
Review 31:Lovely setting in the rainforest. Comfortable, modern room. Helpful hosts.
Review 32:Had toaster in room, but no plate or knife. Or cereal bowl and spoon. Also soap provided, but no shampoo. Just those couple of extras would have been great, but overall fantastic, thank you.
Review 33:Proprieter very friendly, good facilities, and good location to base and explore Cape Tribulation.
Review 34:We enjoyed our stay at this motel tucked away in the rainforest. The lovely and helpful staff who went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable. A good size room and fairly comfortable bed. Breakfast was wonderful, fruit salad had the freshest ingredients.
Review 35:Nothing to complain about:-)
Review 36:We really liked the room which had nice decorations and friendly coloured walls. The pool was absolutely paradisiacal -set in the midst of green vegetation. We enjoyed a bath after every excursion. But what was maybe the most extraordinary touch was the friendliness of the owner who showed as different animals, offered us special fruits to taste from and who was always ready to help or up for a nice conversation.
Review 37:Great to meet inspiring managers, made very welcome. Older style motel, beautiful surrounds. Great to see the sustainable features of the hotel, responsive to the surrounds.
Review 38:Nothing
Review 39:I loved the room and the whole place felt like a resort in Bali, only better. Also, Judy was very friendly and helped us with attractions and must do while we were there.
Review 40:Quiet location surrounded by nature. We got some great shots of the resident cassowary that hangs around the grounds. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Assisted with booking our tour. Walking distance to the tavern for a meal & game of pool and a short drive to cow bay. Would recommend others to stay again and would stay again.
Review 41:The regularly visiting cassowary decided to NOT show up while I was there :(
Review 42:Beautiful flowers and birds in the grounds, having a leisurely dinner sitting in the rainforest - delicious food prepared by Travis from locally sourced produce. Close proximity to an abundance of available tours and sights.
Review 43:No stovetop in kitchenette or laundering facilities for longer stays. Family area was too small for a family. Hot water pressure was very weak.
Review 44:Location, setting was pretty/serene. Staff were very friendly, prompt and helpful. Room was serviced daily.
Review 45:Some claimed facilities were not operating eg BBQ which was meant to be a kitchen feature we were charged for, and the mattress was very hard for us to sleep on.
