Reviews for ZEN Bungalows (by Smile)
Review 1:The whole area is under construction so it is a bit of mess right now. But the worse thing is the loud music that goes on till about 6 A.M. from the bars at the beach. It will not let you sleep if that is what you intended to do. The mosquito net has seen better days so it was pretty much useless. We had a "room mate" in form of a cute rat, which decided to poo on the bed. Wooden bungalows are built very imperfectly - holes in the floor allows animals such rat and gecko get inside a room. The worst moment came, when the water stopped working for about half a day and the toilets got really disgusting.
Review 2:The view was pretty much the only nice thing about this place.
Review 3:Bring every form of mosquito repellent that you can fit in your luggage. The mosquito net that was provided had holes and was not large enough for two people to sleep under. They turn the generator off around 3am, so the fan stops running, and the mosquitoes come out to feast. I came home with nearly 100 bites, even though we were sleeping under the net and using bug spray.
Review 4:It was further away from the party strip, so relatively quiet. We stayed in a hut that was higher up the hill and had a really nice view.
Review 5:The bathrooms didn't get get cleaned during the three days we've stayed there. There's no reception or common area. The whole place seems only half finished.
Review 6:The view from the top bungalows was outstanding
Review 7:They were building more bungalow across the hill so banging all the time but that will be nice when finished! The noise from the beach party's are so loud and clear may have gone party myself! And no noise protection on bungalow, could hear some girl getting ruined till 5 in the morning
Review 8:In the day was peaceful and view was ok, it was away from the busy main beach, on the top of a nice hill,
Review 9:Very very simple accommodation. Mosquito net didn't cover the bed properly. Towels were stained. A little pricey for what you get.
Review 10:View overlooking the bay is amazing. Sunrise is captivating.
Review 11:If mobility issues, could be tricky to get up the hill and up to higher bungalows. Mosquito net didn't fit round the bed and had holes.
Review 12:View. Puppies. Towels. Out house toilets and showers clean enough.
Review 13:could be cheaper + the owner (American) seemed to be a hermit (not smiling or talking at all, looked like on some space cookies - although of course I couldn't verify it)
Review 14:splendid sea view with a sunrise, very clean bathrooms, peaceful place close to the village
Review 15:The path up to the bungalows is full of garbage from the local village. Music from guesthouses down on the main pier is very loud, so it's sometimes difficult to sleep.
Review 16:Location was good, nice view, all the restaurants and shops are close, just few minutes walk to the nearest beach, friendly stuff.
Review 17:The paths between bungalows to the shared bathrooms can be a bit treacherous. They're easy enough to manage but if you are clumsy or have mobility issues this could be a real problem. It is a ten minute walk or so up the hill where there's a bunch of construction. Not much of a difficulty but something to be aware of, especially if you're not terribly mobile. This should be less of an issue as the construction will probably finish relatively soon.
Review 18:A pretty newly built resort, this is up the hill from the main dock at Koh Tui beach, about a five or ten minute walk. The bungalows are nice and the view is really lovely. Decided to change accommodation (to move closer to a friend staying on the island) and the owner was extremely prompt and friendly about letting us switch and leave after check-out time. Really nice.
Review 19:We had to walk through a lot of garbage to get there
Review 20:Surisingly nice bed Location not so noicy as down by the beach. We booked three nights but no problem with the owner to shorten that
Review 21:Overpriced, very basic bungalow with shared bathroom. There was a restaurant but it was never open.
Review 22:Nice view from the bungalows, shared toilets/showers were clean.
Review 23:electric goes off after 2am till 8am on the whole island only a touch to find toilet in the night and fan goes off Lots of development so noise from saw and hammering from 7am (not ver zen) but will be amazing when finished
Review 24:View Bed Mosquito net (much needed) Helpful owner carried bag up to bungalow after long walk up hill Long beach ( jungle trek was worth it to see long beach) Shared showers and toilets very clean
Review 25:Great view, comfortable huts/ mattress and lovely american/khmer couple as hosts. Perfect for couples, v romantic. It's on the path to Long beach too, what more can you want? The grazing water buffalo is an added plus. Best place I stayed in Cambodia, really great!
Review 26:We stayed here early DEC 2014 and the bungalows were still under construction. The stairs to some of the houses weren't finished... Our bungalows were still full of sawdust and one hut roof was even leaking rainwater right on the bed. The road from the beach and village to the bungalows was also full of trash. Potentially a great place, but still along way to go and much work to do.
Review 27:The location is quite good but you have to climb up a hill - it pays off when you see the view form your bungalow.
Review 28:We had rats inside bungalow at night, eating our things... Too much noise at night, even with the distance of the town.
Review 29:Clean bathroom Good view
Review 30:much better places to stay noisy construction area shared bathroom
Review 31:-No wifi but it can be understood. -Some of dirt -shared bathroom, No hotshower
Review 32:-Eco friendly -Ocean view -kindness
Review 33:Clean, quite bungalow, the owner was nice
Review 34:quiet and tucked away, straight up the hill from the pier, secluded from the chaos on the beachfront reccomend
