Reviews for Casa San Michele
Review 1:-cleanliness - especially shower -breakfast was to be included every morning but wasn't -sound barrier between rooms lacking
Review 2:view location isolation living in a very typical home and setting extremely authentic
Review 3:It would have been great to have a kettle in the room to make a hot drink in the evening.
Review 4:Views night and day were lovely, especially nice at breakfast. Good coffee and fresh pastries each day.Nice family atmosphere. Safe, clean. quiet.
Review 5:Just one point ;-) to the apartment lead around 300 steps and is problem with parking, so we dont recommend this accomodation if you have a lot of luggage or you just have problem with steps ;-)
Review 6:The view is breathtaking. The apartment doesnt have its own terrace, but you can sit on the shared terrace and we really loved it, becaus it is as than as real private accomodation, we cooked dinner ourselfes, bought wine and enjoyed the view during dinner, it was the welcomed change after week in retaurants. The owner is very nice, she speaks many languages and is very friendly. Everything was very pleasant, we highly recomend.
Review 7:Hard to find B&B at the first time and you need to get here by public bus or taxi to lift bags, but another time it's a good training to go 286 steps upstairs observing the fantastic views of Minori bay :)
Review 8:View at the breakfast is worst the rest: fantastic Costiera Amalfitana!!!! Room is simple but clean and comfortable. Hosts are very friendly, breakfast is rather good. Downstairs walk takes about 5-6 minutes for reaching Minori centre.
Review 9:Getting to the location might be tough - either 15min upstairs climb or a drive to the very end of serpentine road (only for a small car). Room was crowded with 2 irrelevant beds and looked like an ex-chapel (freaky) but otherwise nicely decorated.
Review 10:Location is beautiful - with a gorgeous view. Authentic Italian experience. You mee the entire family. Breakfast is served on a beautiful terrace. Friendly and helpful staff (family).
Review 11:Very nice and comfy pension, beautifull place with stunning view, well worth those more than few steps that it takes when you walk up from the Minori centre. Of course you can take a bus, but it would be a pity, as the walk offers some exquisite views over the Amalfi coast. We had really nice room for a great price, nd the owner ws very friendly. Denitely recommend.
Review 12:- yes, indeed, there are ants in the bathroom, but the Amalfi coast is just full with them. - had to go on the terrace for the wifi, which made me looking at the sea and not at my phone, which is not that bad after all :)
Review 13:- breakfast with the view is just out of this world - Antonio give us a ride with all the luggage when we arrived (great help) - true authentic italian experience - family run business - amazing hosts - easy to go up to the accommodation with the local bus. - much better than the pictures (!)
Review 14:Wifi connectivity in the room is a bit dicey. But it doesn't matter as you can easily access the common "patio" area, with lovely swings and furniture, which is never crowded. The place is beautiful you wouldn't care about the wifi so much.
Review 15:Even though you have to climb/drive up a hill to get here, this is exactly what I loved about this place, being away from the crowd and the spectacular view. Being a small guest house, with very few guests it feels like living at home, they are a wonderful and hospitable family. Feels like a beautiful personalized experience.
Review 16:Located at the mountain hill,it has a good view of the sea and town center. The couple is wram hearted. Her husband even drove us to the next hotel/
Review 17:Nothing
Review 18:Nice view, beautiful place, nice helpful owners. For parking they should maybe explain better where you are allowed to park. When you get the parking card from them you should park on the open public places (marked blue) on the road leading to the property. Need to walk about 1 km. You can stop for loading people and luggage close to the property.
Review 19:it's located on a top of a quite steep hill - quite a bit of climbing from the town center. There is a public bus though, a few times in a day
Review 20:Clean, comfortable, modern. Amazing views from the terrace!
Review 21:this place is very difficult to find and you cannot park the car nearby so it might be a problem for some people.
Review 22:Hosts were very helpful; the views from terrace is amazing
Review 23:Lovely location although 320 steps up from Minor; great view atbreakfast (which is located outside)Loved the service from Antonio, he picked us up from a wedding in Ravello!
Review 24:View from villa is absolutely amazing. Hospitality like on the 5 star hotel. Quality of food very good. Everything is clean. This is not a hotel – this is real villa on the hill. We were like guests in my mom’s house. The best experience
Review 25:You should be aware of 320 steps up to get to the hotel. For us it wasnot an issue: we enjoyed our walks and used the bus, which runs abouthourly up to the hotel, only once. When arriving make sure to arrangewith Antonio and he will meet you downstairs.
Review 26:We stayed 3 nights at Casa Michele and really enjoyed our stay. Febroniaand Antonio are excellent hosts: they really go extra mile to make yourstay nice. We enjoyed having nice breakfasts with wonderful view andgenerally small-town feeling of Minori where people are veryfriendly.I've managed to leave my wallet in the bus and the busdriver and Febronia made sure I got it back with all cash intact :).Place and room as described; the bed was comfortable and we had no complaints.
Review 27:The croissants for breakfast were super!
Review 28:Small room, breakfast could be better.
Review 29:Great Location, amazing view over minori.
Review 30:Breakfast wasn't consistent. Had to ask a few times.
Review 31:Spectacular view! Staff were very helpful. Felt like being part of a family.
Review 32:It was a bit difficult to get there.
Review 33:great place with very beautiful view of Minori
Review 34:The steps- but we are in Minori!!!!
Review 35:The owner provides the service with love and attention Minori itself is heaven
Review 36:Great host! Great hotel! All is perfect!
Review 37:The steps to the location might be challenging for elderly people.
Review 38:The view from the B&B was great, they have friendly and helpful staff :)
Review 39:Bit of confusion about how to get there- mainly because I don't speak Italian- you have to get a small white bus from by the yellow church up to the top of the hill. buses are every 1 hour approx.
Review 40:Beautiful views, fantastic breakfast, very nice staff, really relaxing!
Review 41:Steps could be a problem so make sure you know that you need good shoes and bags of energy. There is a communal bus to take you back up the hill which was heaven sent ......perfect
Review 42:Febronia is such a beautiful host. From the moment we exchanged text messages re location we loved her. She is a kind soul and met us at the top car park and helped us with our bags. She showed us to our room and then gave us some handy hints for our stay. There are 333 steps down to the town , she offered to take us in the car! She then made us a jug of fresh lemonade from lemons grown in the garden. We also ate (for the first time in our lives) lemons rindless with oil salt and white vinegar DELICIOUS.... we booked in for dinner bruschetta spaghetti with fresh tomato and then buffalo mozzarella with tomatoes and oil amazing tastes of the organic sunblessed ingredients. We were so well looked after by Febronia and her family we will definitely return and can highly recommend this stunning home for a weeks r and r and a hideaway to stare at and smell the sea, thank you so much
Review 43:The double room is slightly small.
Review 44:Position was handy. Walk 5-10 mins downhill to Minori town. Maori is also quite close on the other side. If you like hiking Minori is also perfectly situated to walk to Ravello and Amalfi. The owner was very friendly and helpful to us. The breakfast was nice and the views across the ocean are amazing. Highly recommend.
Review 45:In the middle of nowhere though parking was epic: you end up paying 5€ to park in the street, 500m away from the place. Impossible to find (even though we had a GPS system), eventually you have to call the B&B (luckily we had an Italian SIM card) and the host has to come to pick you up down town. Best of all: she doesn't speak English :)
Review 46:Splendid view, very charming and picturesque house, in the middle of lemon trees. We had the matrimonial room which has an equipped kitchen.
Review 47:Parking is at a premium all over the Amalfi Coast and as yet a permit has not being given for the small car park near the accommodation. However, it is possible to unload and then park the car further down the road, so it is not really a problem. There are many steps down to Minori - you wouldn't have the wonderful sea views otherwise - but there is a regular bus service to bring you back if you don't want to take the car.
Review 48:Casa San Michele is part of a small group of houses in a typical Amalfi coast hillside setting with glorious sea views. The owners are extremely kind and helpful and the apartment was very well-equipped and spotlessly clean.
Review 49:SITA buses that run along the coast can take a little extra research and checking in winter
Review 50:We stayed at Casa san Michele in February, and Minori was a great choice in the off season. There were still a reasonable selection of restaurants and stores open, which is not always the case in beachside towns. The room we had was a multilevel room that had a kitchen (including oven and full sized fridge) and a washing machine. It also had a table for 4 people and you can also use the communal terrace where breakfast is served. There is two ways to access the property. The most direct is via the 300 stairs taking you from the property to the town. This is moderately difficult going up and would be more difficult with luggage. We liked the walk after a day of indulging on wonderful italian food and wine, but it could be difficult if you have limited mobility. There is also a road which is serviced by a local bus. In Feb the bus was running every 1-2 hours and until around 8.30pm (8 on Sunday), but it may run more frequently in Summer. It is worth checking the schedule before you arrive so you can use this to get your luggage up the hill. In saying that, the views were spectacular, so this is all worth the effort.
Review 51:Not enough hot water.
Review 52:Delightful sea view, sea air, lemons in my window. Silence. A lot of different furniture in the bedroom, kitchen and bathroom. Parking very close.
Review 53:The staff was very nice, the location amasing and the room comfortable. If you have to stay for more than one night ask for the mini-apartment to have more space.
Review 54:No good way to find the place, as it is about a 500 foot vertical climb up a mountain, as I later found out. During the booking process, explaining my wife could not climb, the owner said we could "stop the machine at her door". This led me to believe the road went to the place. As it turns out only a goat or person on foot could have made it up the 4 ft. wide road. As luck would have it 3 days earlier a 8 ft. wide 1 lane road was opened. If not we would have not been able to reach the place.
Review 55:>300 steps to get to the place (but found out after there is a bus that will take you up a few times a day)
Review 56:-owner was great! -very friendly and kind -very helpful --gave great suggestions of where to eat and helped figure out other travel plans -location was very clean -room had everything I needed and more (even a washing machine)
Review 57:We are strongly recommend following apartments and place in general! Quite nice people, unusual location in the mountains, not far from the sea!
Review 58:Difficult to find, especially at night, need for more signs and lights.
Review 59:Very welcoming, great view, great breakfast and very good value for money
Review 60:very friendly owners, always ready to help
Review 61:The owners were warm and helpful. The room was new and comfortable with a nice garden and amazing views.
