Reviews for Palazzo Mosco Inn - Dimora Storica
Review 1:Extra friendly staff, great location in old town, lovely home cooking for breakfast on the roof terrace, lovely palazzo room with painted ceiling and original mosaics
Review 2:Nothing
Review 3:The hotel was so beautiful with the inner part of the building open to the elements. We chose not a good week, weather wise, so could not benefit fully from the wonderful roof terrace. The atmosphere in Gallipoli was great and found everyone charming. Nicolette our receptionist was so helpful and sweet, she felt like a friend of long standing. We would most definitely like to return. Breakfast terrific. Thank you.
Review 4:The standard double room is a bit small & does not have a view. However, it was quiet & I slept exceptionally well. For the value, I would still recommend it for a short, single-use stay. Otherwise, splurge on deluxe with balcony - looked worth the difference in price.
Review 5:Great location in the beautiful, old town. Attractive, historic building with lots of attention to details. Rooms are clean & tastefully decorated but also include modern amenities & spacious shower area. Lovely rooftop terrace with Gallipoli's sparkling sea in the background. Complimentary, local fruit on arrival was a nice touch. Wine-tasting & tour of recently restored cantina was another surprise treat:) Most important: excellent staff, especially Nicoletta and Stani - always professional but friendly & welcoming. Thank you for spoiling me, making my visit so enjoyable & luxuriously fun.
Review 6:Parking at the port was hell. It took an hour to find a spot. I understand it is not usually that difficult but it was a hard way to start our stay.
Review 7:Palazzo Mosco is stunningly beautiful and a good value. The mosaic floor and frescoed ceiling of our room were luxurious. The staff took great care of us with restaurant reservations for lunch and dinner. Be sure to try the gamberoni rossi at Il Puritate. It is worth a trip to Gallipoli just to taste this dish. Both Marie-Angela and Nicoletta were enthusiatic and informative. There is a lovely terrace and a surprising breakfast room with a glass floor looking down on a cellar. Breakfast was extraordinary, including baked tarts, grilled eggplant and peppers, fruit. cookies, cappuccino and much more.
Review 8:A bit loud, mainly due to the structure of the building. Despite this detail, totally worthy to stay
Review 9:Lovely stay in a picturesque, beautiful palace in the heart of Old Gallipoli. Fantastic breakfast on the roof terrace, nice, welcoming staff. Easy access by car to a nearby free car park. Round the corner from all sorts of restaurants, bars...
Review 10:The room was somewhat dark as only had small windows. But overall wouldn't complain as we had a great stay.
Review 11:Unbelievably friendly and helpful staff. Perfect old town location. Gorgeous roof terraces.
Review 12:Very friendly front desk personnel, Nicoletta. She even helped us to carry 2 luggages from the checking area to our room on the second floor. She also guided us the restaurant which was really a good one.
Review 15:The rooms are more than adequate however if you enjoy that outdoor living element ie terrace, balcony, you need to be very specific.
Review 16:Loved that the hotel was in the old part of the city of Gallipoli, and yet within walking distance of the new. Loved being picked up by the shuttle service immediately on arriving at the train station. Loved the fact that a reciprocal voucher to a beachside resort was offered. Such fun. The breakfast was divine. You are absolutely spoilt for choice. You are given individual service from how you prefer your coffee, to how you might like your eggs. Unbelievable service. The view from the breakfast/terrace areas are exquisite. Your room is perfectly cleaned and the honest approach to such a private area is always appreciated. The hotel staff exemplify a gracious and efficient team of dedicated professionals.
Review 17:- wifi is poor quality and weak strength - noise from guests and staff walking up and down and shutting/opening doors
Review 18:loveliest of staff beautiful building
Review 19:Attention to details(cleanliness and other) and efficiency are sometimes forgotten...
Review 20:Proximity to the old city walls / the sea. Rooftop breakfast with seaview. Terrace. Enthusiastic staff.
Review 21:Wonderful hotel - could hardly have been better. Lovely room, charming and super helpful staff (one staff even fixed my dress for me!) and just a wonderful holiday experience. Emanuella's breakfast on the terrace was the most glorious start to the day. Could not recommend more - thank you for an incredible holiday
Review 22:Fabulous renovated historic mansion in Gallipoli old town. Characterful rooms, great bed, and spotlessly clean. Breakfast is served on the rooftop terrace. Very helpful and friendly staff. Would definitely stay there again.
Review 23:Nothing.
Review 24:EVERYTHING!!!! it was so enjoyable we wanted to keep this for ourselves! Maria, Margarita and Immanuelle were simply superb from start to finish. The room was fantastic, rustic, quintessentially Italian and perfect in the best location we have been in Italy. They made our stay in Gallipoli very special. We travelled from Rome to Amalifi, to Pulgia, to Gallipoli, to Naples and back to Rome; staying in each location. This was by far our best time (and we had some very special times in the other places). Roof top terrace and breakfast were fantastic and service was excellent. Overall the hotel is amazing. Thank you so much to those who made it so.
Review 25:No parking and possible fine for encroaching on the island to find the hotel. Breakfast OK.
Review 26:Very pleasant host and amazing house
Review 27:Room a bit noisy because under roof top and near breakfast
Review 28:Place Roof top Decoration Staff
Review 29:Every Thing
Review 30:Everything, style, confort, location , staff and...the breakfast a dream!
Review 31:Innovative breakfast and helpfulsataff
Review 32:Great staff and location fantastic breakfast
Review 33:Location suggestiva, staff competente e cordiale, colazione ottima.
Review 34:Charming and helpful staff
Review 35:Not a problem for us, but no lift at the accommodation
Review 36:Friendly welcoming staff and great location
Review 37:I liked everything
Review 38:Very friendly and competent staff. Everything is perfect. Highly recommended.
Review 39:Not a bad experience at all but room only had view into buildings opposite.
Review 40:Big room, breakfast on roof terrace, friendly staff.
Review 41:This hotel is a fair distance from the car park, has lots of stairs which can be slippery when wet.
Review 42:The location, the staff, the room.
Review 43:- shower was not clean - room without windows
Review 44:- location - historical building - staff very helpful
Review 45:The hotel is really beautiful and extremely well located, but overall I appreciated a lot the kindness of the staff. They made us feel at home and helped us out in the most efficient way. Mariangela and Margherita made us feel really well.
Review 46:The wifi was a bit slow and would occasionally log us out randomly. But that is the only thing I could slightly criticise!
Review 47:Maria and Marguerite were amazing! We had accidentally booked a single room and Maria was so helpful (after we had had a really long and tiring day of travelling), upgrading us to an amazing double room for a very fair price. We loved sitting on the roof terrace for breakfast and just to relax after a couple of hours sight sitting on the beach during the day and evening, with Maria and marguerite always available to bring up a glass of wine and some aperitifs! We loved every second of staying at the Mosco, I thought it was the most beautiful place, with amazing rooms. We were also completely spoilt, making out honeymoon here all the more special. Breakfast was also very good: pastries, bread, cereal, cheese, ham, eggs and bacon. Seeing the prices of sun lounger and parasol hire at the local beaches, made the free pass provided by the Mosco for Bikini Beach appreciated!
Review 48:Every time It was raining, the internet was unavailable; the room was not made everyday; No vegetarian option for breakfast - bacon added to everything; reception desk available at limited time only.
Review 49:Breakfast on the roof
Review 50:The first night we did not get a room of the standard required, we had to wait the day after to be moved to the proper room (which was an amazing one). The Jacuzzi's water in the terrace does not go above 25°, quite chilly, hence useless. Apart from some rooms and the lobby, the rest of the hotel facilities are nothing special. Car parking could be a problem in high season.
Review 51:The room we booked (with mosaics on the floor) was amazing. Personnel was polite and available. Right in the city center
Review 52:The street outside can get noisy.
Review 53:It's location in the midst of the old town, the fantastic roof garden with a view of the sea, and the very friendly staff.
Review 54:In our room the floor was terribly damaged, it spoilt the room.
Review 55:I liked the design of the hotel, the little tealights on the staircase and landing, the room had a good size but most of all the breakfast was great on the fabulous roof terrace. The waitress was very kind and helpfull.
Review 56:Not so easy to find by car. Gps in our car was very usefull!
Review 57:The position in the middle of the old town. The parking 5/6 minutes walkfrom the hotel. Nice and kind personel. Breakfast on the top-roofterrace.in the sun.
Review 58:The range of services were naturally restricted by its location in the old city.
Review 59:Very welcoming and well run boutique hotel in a great little town. Staff were very helpful and we were immediately struck by the hotel's unique design. We loved it.
Review 60:Everything was above our expectations. There was a lot of attention to detail. This is the best hotel we have ever stayed in. We highly recommend it!
Review 61:Due to the location of the hotel, the street below can sometimes be abit noisy.
Review 62:We stayed four nights at the hotel and really enjoyed it!! We gotphantastic service from the personnel. We also enjoyed the breakfast onthe top floor terrace, which was good for Italian standards. The terraceon the top floor is a real hit and we had pic-nic there two nights in arow. The beach offered by the hotel is great, but rather expensive.
Review 63:As I mentioned the parking on arrival was a bit of a problem with the luggage, but manageable.
Review 64:The staff were excellent, especially Margherita in reception, she was always smiling and friendly and a special note about the german girl who served breakfast always a smile. Your staff should be appreciated, its those things that make you return, it was a lovely hotel and the position could not have been better, although the parking was a bit off a problem when we arrived, but sorted out for the rest of our stay
Review 65:Jacuzzi was not heated
Review 66:Excellent location. Attractive building with nice roof terrace
Review 67:Hot tub not in operation.
Review 68:Beautiful rooms and great breakfast. Rooftop terrace.
Review 69:The hotel was just fine, we had no complaints (room was clean, breakfast very good), however due to Ferragosto it was heavily overpriced.
Review 70:Small room with no view.
Review 71:Great terras on top of the hotel
