In the prestigious seaside village of Scopello, which overlooks the Faraglioni rock-stacks and the ancient Tonnara 1,000 feet below, this elegant hotel is also close to the enchanting Nature reserve of Lo Zingero.
The hotel is well situated for visiting the most important cultural sites in the area: Segesta, Erice, Egadi Islands, Trapani, Palermo (Monreale), and Selinunte are all within an hour’s drive. The hotel also offers the possibility of excursions and boat trips, and the chance to dive on the wonderful natural coast line near Scopello.
The hotel opened in 1969 but was originally founded in the early 1700’s, on the site of an earlier Arab castle. Carefully restored, this family-run hotel maintains the traditions of hospitality and fine regional cooking.

Reviews for Hotel La Tavernetta

Review 1:Nothing!

Review 2:La Tavernetta is just a beautiful place in the nice little village of Scopello. Close to the smal center of the place, beautiful view over the landscape, friendly staff and excellent cuisine.

Review 3:Would be nice to have bar service down by the pool when there?

Review 4:Very peaceful and lovely vibe to the place. Fabulous pool setting. Adored hiking and swimming in the Zingaro reserve.

Review 5:Great hotel!! Beautiful view and pool/ garden area and a very large and delicious breakfast buffet! Staff was very helpful and hotel was in perfect location in town centre. Dinner at hotel restaurant was also great. Highly recommended!!

Review 6:If we have to be picky, we didn't have a strong wifi signal on our phones.

Review 7:We loved staying here, the staff were incredibly helpful throughout our whole stay. The setting was beautiful, great views and having the pool there was a massive bonus! We will definitely be returing to Scopello and without a doubt will choose to stay here again!

Review 8:The restaurant server lovely and delicious food on a balcony over looking the pool and the ocean - beautiful :) Great clean rooms, wonderful service. Can not fault this hotel!

Review 9:Rooms are a bit noisy.

Review 10:The staff is very friendly and professional, as well as the owners who always around to help out. Everything is very clean: rooms, garden, restaurant, pool. Great garden and swimming pool with great view over the bay and the sea. Excellent and very elaborate breakfast, with a great view from the terrace. Good restaurant to have dinner in the evening, again with great view from the terrace. Located right in the centre of the idyllic little town Scopello. Private parking.

Review 11:Nothing

Review 12:We had a frontal sea view room in the newly renovated wing; the view is wonderful. It had a small balcony where we could sit and chill. The room is a good size and nicely decorated. The owners saw to every detail, bathrobes, slippers, L'Occitane toiletries… The room was so clean you could not find dust on even the balcony chairs or clothesline. The breakfast was the best we had in our 2 weeks in Sicily, a big spread of savoury and sweets. The restaurant that we had dinner one night was a tad expensive by Sicily stds but good quality. There's secure Parking onsite but a little tricky navigating it upslope. The owners are very helpful with any requests. We hope to return.

Review 13:No complaints - we have travelled extensively and are not usually so generous with our praise.

Review 14:Run by a family who are helpful and friendly. Breakfast was excellent in terms of quality and variety. Nice atmosphere for dinner with great food. Local red wine by the carafe was vey drinkable. Nice location and views.

Review 15:We stayed at la tavernetta for seven nights on our honeymoon. The hotel was recommended to us and we weren't disappointed! Staff we're super friendly and helpful and the hotel is in a really beautiful spot. The sea view from our room was perfect. Breakfast was amazing with huge selection so we were able to have something different every day. Will hopefully return one day!

Review 16:It was difficult to find. They need more signs! There were lots of cats at the dining area...some guests enjoyed them, but we found them to be a little annoying.

Review 17:The pool and the grounds were so perfect! The landscaping was amazing and the pool, although quite cold in October, was so beautiful. The place was quiet, relaxing, amazing. The breakfast was 5star!

Review 18:- breakfast : if you are an early bird , then the choices are great. However, items are not added, so coming late is noty an option. - rooms are on the small side

Review 19:The views from the garden are excellent. Staff at reception is professional and helpful.

Review 20:Don't expect to be close to the sea, even tho you can see it! It's a fair walk or short drive.

Review 21:Everything! Hotel had a warm welcoming feel, comfortable room and bed, nice view out to sea and excellent food, both at breakfast and dinner. Friendly helpful staff. Nice gardens and pool. Secure parking. Other restaurants and cafes very near.

Review 22:Dinner in the restaurant was disappointing and expensive for the choice. A better option is to eat in one of the restaurants in Scopello.

Review 23:Gardens and swimming pool. Good sized bedrooms in the new part of the hotel. Staff were helpful.

Review 24:perfect location in the village with great pool and views of the sea and surrounding hills. Super staff, really friendly and helpful, restaurant food was great, good choice of breakfast buffet. All refurbished last year so rooms lovely, bed the most comfortable by far. Would have like to stay longer

Review 25:We enjoyed our room. We loved the view and pool. Claudia was amazing and always willing to answer all our questions. The restaurant on site was excellent as was the service. Great breakfasts sitting out in the patio. We would highly recommend this Hotel and conscientious staff to our friends. Rick and Bonnie

Review 26:Scopello is a magical place and La Tavernetta is definitely the nicest place to stay. A beautiful pool and garden, a terrace for meals with a perfect view and yet in the middle of village life. Bedrooms and bathrooms are medium sized but well equipped. Friendly staff.

Review 27:Wasps. Not the fault of the hotel. But they prevented you enjoying breakfast outside. I'm a nature lover but these pesky things test your patience!

Review 28:Nice room albeit on the small side - made up for that by being very well appointed and spotless. Little touches all over.pool fantastic and clean, gardens well kept. Food in the restaurant was good at both breakfast and the one evening meal. Wifi throughout. On-site parking and very handy for walking into Scopello (50m)

Review 29:Noisy till about 12:30am, small rooms, breakfast was mostly bread and pastry options.

Review 30:Exceptional staff, go out of their way to be helpful.. Breakfast was varied and plentiful, wifi was super fast. Small boutique hotel feeling, amazing garden with ancient olive trees. Exceptional views. Free parking. A beautiful stay.

Review 31:Towel renting system, patchy wifi reception in rooms, somewhat pricey restaurant menu

Review 32:Beautiful pool, private and secure on-site parking, great restaurant and view from terrace

Review 33:nothing at all - it was all great!

Review 34:the owners and staff are fabulous the pool! the pool! the pool! the views rooms extremely clean food fabulous wonderful breakfast

Review 35:Access to the parking is complicated and same issue when you leave the parking. It is inconvenient with a car with manual gear box. When you out of parking you need to make very sharp turn to drive on the hill...

Review 36:Attention to every guest! Delicious food at dinner time. Good selection of vine. Friendly staff and hotel owners.

Review 37:Amazing location and really beautiful venue in general!! Great service and fresh and nice rooms. Pool area is perfect for a lazy day and food was good in the restaurant. Our room was really nice but a little noisy as it faced a street and young children were playing there early in the morning, but among so many wonderful things that was not a major issue for us. We would definitely return to this hotel again if we visited Scopello again.

Review 38:The hotel to the right blocking an even better view.

Review 39:Friendly staff, great view, October sun, good food.

Review 40:The property is magnificent with stunning views!

Review 64:Views, food, facilities

Review 65:Location Pool

Review 66:Nothing at all.

Review 67:Lovely people own and run the hotel; spectacular location, very good food and wine, marvellous swimming pool with breathtaking view. Loved it all, and we were there for ten days.

Review 68:Being picky. Our side sea view room was a bit small. Leaving

Review 69:Quiet and restful location. Wonderful staff who spoke English or who tried their best to learn. Lovely pool area and gardens Good A/C and restaurant. Great breakfast. Owner went out of his way to repair a fault with room shower even on a Sunday.

Review 70:Sometimes just too noisy from both neighbours and young staff. Rooms average size for Italy but small for our needs. Wifi slow.

Review 71:Nice location with lovely views, lovely garden area. Front desk staff very courteous. Excellent Dinner

Review 72:A very smart hotel with excellent range of facilities with a large garden and swimming pool. Situated in a beautiful area west of Palermo and ideal suited for exploring the North West of Sicily..

Review 73:Internet was very poor in the rooms, but excellent in the common areas.

Review 74:Lovely family managed small resort. Amazing view over the sea in the restaurant area where breakfast takes place. Amazing breakfast with lots of choice and local sweets!

Review 75:Painting on wall in room - not our taste and seemed out of character for hotel.Nothing else to dislike!

Review 76:room size good, good view, quiet, excellent food and staff

Review 77:The only tiny thing I was missing my bran/granola at breakfast!!!!

Review 78:Absolutely amazing location, with stunning views to the ocean and mountains. Beautifully landscaped grounds with great swimming pool looking out towards the ocean, infinity pool :) Lovely to sit and watch the swallows diving and dipping into the pool to cool off and sip the water. All rooms very prettily and comfortably decorated, if not with a balcony then lovely quiet patio to sit out on and listen to the sounds of the birds and watch the butterflies. Breakfasts were excellent with plenty of choices.

Review 79:Wonderful location and facilities. Convenient car parking . Friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast and hotel meals were superb. Pool was fantastic and gardens very well kept with ancient olive trees. Lovely sea view.

Review 80:Really nothing.

Review 81:Very kind, friendly owners and an extra-ordinary helpful staff. One of the best places we ever stayed in Italy. Superb restaurant. We arrived around 12pm with a late flight but this was no problem. Even serving a bottle of wine was no problem...

Review 82:Excellent hotel, rooms very comfortable. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Superb breakfast and good choice and reasonably priced restaurant for evening meal. Good location for Zingara Nature reserve and ruins at Segesta.

Review 83:Very friendly family-run hotel with views over a beautiful stretch of coastline. Excellent buffet breakfast and delicious dinners of pasta and seafood. Lovely garden with a very attractive outdoor pool. The hotel has secure, free parking.

Review 84:Charming hosts and staff were helpful and accommodating. The location is in an idyllic seaside town. Rooms were great. During a warm spell the air conditioning worked well. Great place to stay while visiting Erice, Segesta and Trapani.

Review 85:Not really complaints - mainly for personal convenience - Wifi only available in reception area. (Owner said he was in the process of installing an antenna to cover all areas) and missing a trick by not actively promoting a drinks service on the veranda.

Review 86:Idyllic setting. Set amongst landscaped gardens with an infinity pool and views of the sea below & mountains above. Very friendly owners and staff. Value of money.

Review 87:The staff couldn't do enough to help us, printed our flight boarding cards, gave us free coffee after we'd paid our bill, drinks by the pool, directions to the national park etc. Restaurant was superb location and food wise. Would definitely stay again for longer next time.

Review 88:The coffee-awful.

Review 89:Warm, friendly, helpful staff View Good choice of food at breakfast Shower Pool Convenient for night stroll and accessing other restaurants that were very close by. Good base for exploring

Review 90:I had no dislikes of the hotel at all and would definitely return, a map of the local area would have been helpful for walks and some information of what to see in the area .

Review 91:The location of this hotel in the small village was excellent. The staff were warm and welcoming. It was worth paying the extra money for the sea view, however a standard double would have been very comfortable. The breakfast was very good and the food in the evenings was amazing.

Review 92:Wonderfully relaxing ambience of the hotel. Great dining experience on the terrace with views of sea and mountains. Helpful, friendly staff - especially Elena and Claudia on reception. Modern decor, comfy beds, top class shower.

Review 93:Generally nothing ... I would like to very much to come again! (only one thing - shower facilities complicated and not enough place for personal belongings in the bathroom...)

Review 94:Location, Atmosphere, Friendly owners.

Review 95:The access to the beach. It's better not to plan this place for the beach holiday. There are only private beaches with the rocks and stones around. The sand beaches are not reachable by foot. The rooms with the sea view are actualy facing the restaurant. You can always hear and see people (breakfast or dinner) through your window if you don't close it.

Review 96:Scopello is a beautifull old village with the fantastic nature around. The hotel is nice and clean, the view from the rooms is fantastic, breakfast is rich. Lovely swimming pool.

Review 97:Beautiful location, perfect for quiet and relaxing holiday.good restaurants nearby and in the hotel itself.we had a room with astonishing view, it was clean and comfortable, decorated with a good taste.

Review 98:Only one - which may have been a blessing, trouble getting Wi-Fi connection.

Review 99:Relaxing location, good for walking, Zingaro National park close by. Location excellent v.good sea views, very friendly staff, food excellent. Would definitely go back - great place to unwind.

Review 100:The town itself is in our view a bit boring. The room is a bit small given the price we paid. We do understand that there are bigger rooms. Room small though with everything well equipped.

Review 101:The nicest swimming pool i ever had, i did visit many one of the most luxury hotels in Asia. A nice and warm family hotel, nice personnel. The restaurant is excellent. Nice view from the bacolny, cute garden.

Review 102:the only min thing were flying moths in our room

Review 103:Me and my wife have spent there our last two nights in Sicily. Hotel is located in center of small Italian village with breath- taking view over Zingaro Riserva mountains.Worth dining at the hotel restaurant at sunset one night. Staff very friendly, for traveling by car parking space available at the back of the property. We did a round trip in Sicily and Scopello was perfect choice. We'll definitely plan our stay there in the future.

Review 104:King size mattress instead of 2 singles for a matrimonial bed would be nice. Mosquito blinds infront of windows would help.

Review 105:Delicious restautant, friendly staff, beautiful view

Review 106:I would have liked a pool as it is quite a walk to the beach. Access to the car park is tricky and really the car park is just some rough ground.

Review 107:The customer service was exceptional. We have never been made so welcome. The hotel is in a good location for restaurants and bars.Everything was of the highest quality. It is really so very pleasant to sit in their grounds, overlooking the sea, with a glass of reasonably priced wine.

Review 108:Pool being installed during stay restricted car park access but should be completed by August 2013.

Review 109:Great sea/hill views from balcony, tasty breakfast with new delights each day, helpful staff, great location with many excellent restaurants just a minute's walk away. Good swimming beaches close-by in National Park.

Review 110:Very Friendly staff. Lovely family running the hotel. Help with anything they can Good restaurants nearby Very clean Scopello itself is very beautiful and charming.

Review 111:Great location in the village and a really nice atmosphere about the hotel. There's a decent-sized outside deck area and the restaurant is lovely too. There've recently built a new wing to the hotel and the rooms there are done to a high spec - the shower is amazing and the bed is super-comfortable! Wonderful sea views as well.

Review 112:This is a beautifully run small hotel with immense character set in a stunning village. Outside spaces, gardens, sea views. Tranquil and relaxed. Superb breakfasts.

Review 113:Really enjoyed our stay at La Tavernetta. A lovely, laid back but professional service. Our room was compact but brightly decorated with a great sea view. Every member of staff was attentive and friendly and so much so that when we had to go to a nearby town to pay a parking fine our receptionist who was on her way home from her shift spotted us and so kindly drove us around town making sure we found the right places to complete the complicated procedure. Thankyou very much!

Review 114:I liked the staff, the hotel was friendly and the food and wine very good. It is a good location , in the middle of the village yet quiet. The arrival of the swimming pool this summer will make it ideal

Review 115:Service went above and beyond any expectations. Friendly, and generally amazing. Location was lovely just off the town square. Great breakfast - fantastic views from the terrace. Nice little touches - like a drying rack on the balcony and a fridge in the room made a big difference.
