Reviews for Takamiya Ryokan Miyamaso

Review 1:The geta was too small for big american feet lol

Review 2:The staff give royal treatment, from their pickup at the train station,to accommodating our food request, they were awesome!!!

Review 3:nothing

Review 4:Everything. The perfect place for a top level ryokan experience. Great staff, very comfortable rooms and terrific beds, nice onsen and magnificent dinner.

Review 5:Wifi only available in the lobby, not in the rooms. Hotel itself is traditional Japanese style, made of wood and poorly isolated, so with - 8 degrees outside we were freezing, even indoors. If you're looking for absolute peace and quiet- perfect place. Not for adventure seekers.

Review 6:I've stayed for 4 days with my husband. The hotel staff are very kind and helpful. They speak little English, so better brush up your Japanese before coming. The price included both breakfast and dinner, which was great, as the village was quiet and many places closed. Food was served beautifully and delicious, but a bit light for people skiing all day long. The onsen in the hotel were real life savers, there are 2, both fully equipped, perfect. They have both indoor and outdoor baths, it was wonderful to soak in and watch the stars at night.

Review 7:The rooms are a tiny bit dated by western standards - but don't expect western standards! Quite a distance from the main cable car up to the top of the mountain, in case you have non-skiers with you.

Review 8:The onsen waters are amazing. The building is unique and truly atmospheric. This was our first stop on a tour of Japan, and was a great first immersion in the culture. Short walk to one of the main chair lifts.

Review 9:Please change the music - they only had two tracks on the system - started to drive us insane

Review 10:The Onzsen Access to Ski Fields Traditional format Attentive helpful staff

Review 11:Situated in a beautiful street, this is a stunning retreat from the cold. The onsens, food, staff, rooms and atmosphere was fantastic. Was sad to leave.

Review 12:We assumed that the stairway up to the ropeway would be accessible in the winter, but it was full of snow. Instead we walked around the village up the road. Not much further, but a little inconvenience each day.

Review 13:Meals were excellent value and we enjoyed every single dish. The meals were a different variety for each of our 5 nights. The Japanese style room gave a very traditional/authentic Ryoken experience.

Review 14:excellent food! Phenomenal presentation. The staff are exceptional and even though we had language barrier, they tried their best. Ski slope is short walk away(unfortunately the short cut is treacherous and almost unpassable with the snow cover)

Review 15:as in all traditional japanese hotels, the walls to the other rooms are a bit thin, but this is normal.

Review 16:we loved the attentive and friendly staff. although we did not state any arrival time, there was someone to meet us at the busstation to pick us up. also we got a shuttle service to ropeway. the baths were very nice and the food delicious.

Review 17:Friendly and polite staff. Spacious room.

Review 18:Staff are friendly and helpful.
