Reviews for Agriturismo Serra San Biagio

Review 1:We have been in Sicily on and off for 3 years and make many weekend trips. This is our favorite place to date. Amazing view of the sea and Mt. Etna (it was erupting during our stay!), the warmest welcome from Rita and possibly the best breakfast in Sicily. Stacks of fluffy towels, an extra heater and blankets delivered to the room, just in case. Dinner in the restaurant was also very pleasant.

Review 2:Very heavy rain and the bathroom window leaked so the bathroom was flooded.

Review 3:Very friendly and helpful owner and staff. Location very good. Excellent view of Etna.

Review 4:Facilities a bit outdated.

Review 5:Very friendly staff, views were beautiful and enjoyed watching little planes take off and land. Swimming pool is a bonus, and fresh eggs in the morning were lovely.

Review 6:The road approaching San Biagio was really small and narrow. Address different on booking.com compared San Biagio Web and confused our GPS.

Review 7:Excellent view over Etna! Excellent food in the restaurant with a nice house wine.

Review 8:It does't belongs to the place but the street is a little narrow and to find it for the first time it take a few time.

Review 9:Mostly we liked everything special the owner Rita she do anything to help you.

Review 10:We had a very nice and relaxing stay at this residence. We enjoyed and relaxed at the swimming pools after lots of travelling. The beach is not far away, but you need a car for going around. Taormina is very close and other nice towns and villages are not far. We liked that the residence is big and not crowded (at least in July). It is very good that there is a possibility to have a dinner in the restaurant of this residence (the restaurant is good). Everything was very good, we would recommend this place.

Review 11:Restaurant was on our doorstep but there are better places a short drive away. The rooms were basic, but suited us as we wanted to be out/by-the-pool/in-the bar.

Review 12:Friendly, helpful staff. Great views of Mount Etna, the sea (when the clouds clear) and the country side. Calm, peaceful location. Two pools, one was underused so it was like having your own private pool. Fireworks when there was a party at the restaurant - even though the parties themselves were quiet and very 'civilized'. Great views of the stars.

Review 13:The location was fantastic, set in beautiful, tranquil countryside. our room had a balcony with stunning views of Mt. Etna and the Ionian Sea. Rita, the owner, was friendly and funny and couldn't have been more helpful. A great holiday experience.

Review 14:I always find breakfast difficult abroad as I'm rather wheat intolerant and find I'm left with a bit of sweet yoghurt and some random fruit since otherwise it's bread and croissants. There were cornflakes and Rita was happy to boil eggs and my husband said the espresso was amazing. Rita could do with some extra help in the mornings but we were happy to relax and go slow. How could you not with that amazing view!

Review 15:The views from the hotel are stunning and very relaxing. With 2 young children, we loved that there were 2 pools so we were able to select the one away from the main house which also had a small baby pool so the children could play without disturbing other guests. Rita is amazing and runs around making sure everything is catered for. When we were there at the beginning of July, the hotel was fairly quiet with only one large party in their function room. Rita was quick to move us without extra charge from a room close to the bar area, to 2 rooms in the quieter neighbouring block which was so kind. My husband was happy that the WiFi was good so he could still check essential work emails. Overall an authentic Italian stay. Some people have previously complained about the planes taking off next door. This didn't impact at all, only around 3 a day and only tiny light aircraft which the children found really exciting to watch. The sheds and greenhouses previously mentioned are nothing. This is rural farming countryside after all! The hotel is a 20 min drive to Taormina which is why we picked it. With decent satnav you will find it, up a steep hill. It is signposted until the remote track. If driving into Taormina, ensure you program the main multistorey carpark porta catania into your satnav to avoid driving through narrow streets. It really is the only one and main street is really close.

Review 16:Absolutely brilliant place to stay, flawless welcome from Rita and her team, you literally feel at home and it was perfect environment for our little 2 and half year old daughter. Location is nicely tucked away but not that bad to get to and quite well indicated (we read different reviews stating differently, but there are now dedicated signs for it). Highly recommend it and fantastic views from the terrace...sea on the left and magical Etna on the right...hard to beat!

Review 17:Getting there is best done following the road signs for the last 1km as the GPS is a bit misleading. The last 1/2 km to the location are very narrow winding roads with tight corners so beware of oncoming traffic.

Review 18:My wife and I stayed for 4 days, and we were travelling by motorbike for our 25th Wedding anniversary we were greeted very warmly by a lovely host Rita. We were given a very secure parking for the bike very near our room. The place is situated very near Mt Etna and Taormina and surrounded by a very quiet and relaxing countryside. Breakfast on terrace is memorable with views of both Mt Etna, surrounding countryside and sea. Highly recommended. Thank you Rita. Betty & Joseph from Malta

Review 19:It was such a wonderful experience to have stayed in Serra San Biagio. Everything about the place was just like in the pictures and the room we stayed in was so comfortable and clean. We were welcomed by Rita who was the most gracious host and very helpful with all our needs. I don't have enough words to express how grateful we are to have had such a warm and helpful host. We definitely have plans to once again return in the future.

Review 20:The staff were kind, helpful and efficient. Nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast on the terrace each morning was especially delightful. Such a wonderfully relaxing place to return to each evening.

Review 21:Właścicielka hotelu to wspaniała kobieta. Tryskająca humorem. Lokalizacja doskonała. Wspaniałe śniadania. Polecam. Na pewno tam wrócę. The owner of the hotel is a wonderful woman . Brimming with humor. Location excellent. Great breakfasts . I would recommend . I will definitely go back.

Review 22:Some buzzing from the electricity pylons, depending on the weather! Difficult to find initially, even with the sat nav, as we kept missing the narrow turnings from the dual carriageway!

Review 23:Nice room, well equipped and spotlessly clean. Great breakfast with different home-cooked cakes each day. Very friendly and accommodating owners. Quiet location (apart from some buzzing from pylons) but easy to get to main roads.

Review 24:Staff were noisy, constantly speaking loudly - usually on mobile phones - while working. The airfield is noisy and creates dust - it is inappropriately located so close to paying guests who are trying to relax, sleep, enjoy themselves etc. The room was generally good but on the small side, and, as is common in Italian accommodation of this style, there is only room for one suitcase. We had to open our second suitcase in the wardrobe. Another common characteristic that we found in Italy was the layout of the bathroom has not been well thought out. The shower cubicle is tiny and awkward to get into, the bidet is in a corner and virtually under the bathroom vanity. It would be good if the owners could actually try out the rooms to see where the flaws are so they can be fixed. There were no tea or coffee making facilities in the room. Breakfast was interesting, but again it always is in Italy where cake and biscuits are considered a healthy start to the day. Among other thngs such as croissants, bread etc, a small bowl of fruit salad was provided each morning and when that was quickly finished it was not replenished. A bit disappointing for an agriturismo located within a large fruit orchard. The breakfast area on the terrace could have been more pleasant - table cloths looked shabby (some were faded and torn) and guests were left to fend for themselves as the numerous starving kittens pleaded for food.

Review 25:The location was beautiful except for the airfield and sheds spoiling an otherwise perfect view of the countryside. The farmhouse style of the accommodation was very appealing and rooms were in the main tastefully decorated. Amenities such as the pools and terraces were appealing and the atmosphere generally relaxing.

Review 26:Rather remote but okay for us

Review 27:Lovely pool and garden. Plenty of cutlery, glasses china and sufficient for the eight of us staying there. The owner couldn't have been more helpful in every way.

Review 28:The road to the hotel is a bit small and scary, especially when you arrive when it's dark.

Review 29:Room, swimming pool(s!), breakfast with a mango fresh from the tree.

Review 30:The road to the farm is a bit of a challenge...narrow and winding.

Review 31:Beautiful facilities in a peaceful setting. From the owner on down everyone was most helpful and attentive. And the icining on the cake are the views of Mt. Etna. Easy access to Taormina as well.

Review 32:My friends and would have liked to hove a coffee machine,so we could have brewed a cuppa while relaxing on the room patio. A couple saches of coffee/ teabags with sugar would have been greatly appreciated. In all fairness there was a communal machine but it was not working. This is the ONLY complaint.

Review 33:Liked location of the place.behind, the great close view of Etna, surrounded by agricultural views and the sea views from the reception/ restaurant terrace. Restaurant served good food at very moderate prices. House wine (€ 8 ) a liter is excellent.would thou rally recommend the place, also very jolly and helpfull staff.

Review 34:If you could give stars to Agriturismi I would definitely give 5 stars. Great location, excellent facilities (spacious, immaculate rooms, fridge, nice power shower, modern air con.) You get a lot more than it is listed in the property's profile: 2 pools, very nice playground, tennis court etc… Excellent if you are with children. And the owners are very, very friendly and welcoming. Food in the restaurant is superb too and staff is lovely; especially Asunta the waitress.

Review 35:The tiny road that leads to the hotel is very narrow - it is just the last few meters, but advisable to arrive with daylight (after the first time, one then knows what to expect)

Review 36:The view: Etna & sea The room: quiet and comfortable with good shower; air-conditioned and shutters make us forget that is hot outside The pool: the main pool is of good size and well-positioned in relation to the sun The restaurant: the food was very good Breakfast: good variety and local produce It is a nice idea to offer fruits and facility to make coffee in the patio of the second house; a facility to order other drinks or a honor bar could be a welcome addition.

Review 37:Atmosphere, Staff, Dinner with fresh ingredients, Wine.

Review 38:fantastica! Special Rita gave us a lot of fun and comfort. Nice restaurant and nice menu.

Review 39:The breakfast is a bit to poor

Review 40:Rita, the owner is an excellent host

Review 41:The most friendly hosts you can imagine.

Review 42:The Pool was really nice and the service from the staff was excellent.

Review 43:Hard to find it place

Review 44:full package of pool, hospita, food, views

Review 45:Nothing.

Review 46:Everything.

Review 47:Excellent!

Review 48:Nice location, friendly staff, two pools and playarea for children...Nice place sure I will visit another time.

Review 49:There are a lot of partie which may be quite noisy.

Review 50:Verry nice place with magnificent views on etna especially at night.

Review 51:Can't really find any fault with it.

Review 52:Location was excellent and views were stunning. Sitting having breakfast overlooking the Ionian see and Etna was outstanding.

Review 53:signposting could be better as narrow countryroad leading to property easily missed.

Review 54:quiet secluded location. breakfast outside on the veranda with great views of mount etna and surrounding countryside. pleasant and helpful staff

Review 55:Nicely located with a great view to the sea and to Etna. We've been there in February so we couldn't take advantage of the nice swimming pool. In the evening the lava flow from the Etna was visible, which was very impressive!! The restaurant was good and also open at this time of the year. We could enjoy our breakfast sitting on the terrace.

Review 56:Unfortunately, the restaurant was closed when we arrived. The roomscould use a little upkeep - the door felt flimsy and there were afew dead mosquitos squished on the walls. The wifi signal onlyreaches to certain rooms, and my partner needed it for work, so thatlimited our choices.

Review 57:Owner Rita is warm, welcoming, fun, and energetic. A nice mix ofinternational tourists. The location is beautiful and not too far off ofthe highway and very quiet. The breakfast was delicious, and includedcold cuts and yogurt as well as breakfast breads, and the dining roomstaff was very warm and helpful.

Review 58:This was our best stay in Sicily so far! We stayed in about 10 different hotels / apartments, but this agriturismo is a true gem! Its location is beautiful and romantic, with view on the sea, the Etna and the country side. It has 2 great pools to relax and there was a nice sea breeze every day, which made it perfect to stay at the premise. The atmosphere is very relaxing and it is special to be so close to famous places like Taormina (only 20 mins drive) & Giardini Naxos (10 mins drive), yet to be emerged in a country-side atmosphere that is quiet and calm! Furthermore, the beaches are nearby (spiaggia di cottone 10 mins, spiaggia san marco 15 mins, which are stony beaches, while there are more sandy beaches in Giardini Naxos and at Letojanni). The rooms are divided over 2 places; there is one separate new building (only 1 minute walk down the hill from the main pool, hotel reception, and restaurant) with beautifully decorated rooms and bathrooms. The other rooms are above the hotel reception and offer a great view on the sea and private airplane lot. All rooms have a small empty refrigerator. My fiance is Italian and we stayed in other agriturismi in Italy, but we have never seen such a luxurious one as this one!The breakfast contains good coffee / cappuccino, fresh fruit from the place itself and surrounding areas, croissants, cakes, bread, cheese, ham, yogurt and cereals. We enjoyed the breakfast every morning on the beautiful terrace with the beautiful view! The restaurant is run by different people than the hotel owners and -although it is a good alternative for lunch or dinner- we did not like it very much. It did not come close to other restaurants, like Palladio ristorante in Giardini Naxos - which is highly recommended! It serves delicious fresh food and has a great view over the sea!Last but not least, the hotel owners are the most friendly people we have come across in Sicily (and Sicilians usually are already super friendly!).

Review 59:The place is nice and cosy. The restaurant is very good, don't go anywhere else to eat because you won't find much better that that. The owner is very friendly and happy to help! The views of Mount Etna are amazing

Review 60:air con in the room wasn't strong enough to keep the room cool and agreeable. Lack of command of English lead to some confusion over price of dinner

Review 61:views were lovely from the room, the room itself was nice, pool looked good

Review 62:owner is very helpful and goes out of her way to make you feel welcome. the rooms are near the restaurant and with a young boy it was very convenient.

Review 63:far from anywhere. can't go nowhere without car.

Review 64:all was friendly. they helped me to go down to the town, station or bus stops, and always cought me up from the station or bus stops by car. Hot water comes. rooms are clean.

Review 65:Great location not far from autostrada and Taormina . Extremely relaxing . Gorgeous pool and views of sea and mount Etna. Rita was more than helpful. Food in restaurant was good.

Review 66:I am very kind and received the service in which the heart gets warm. The wonderful location had the farmhouse tourist home.

Review 67:Restaurant excelent. Staff friendly

Review 68:Location, facilities, value for money.

Review 69:very welcoming staff

Review 70:Great location, food and helpful staff. Will definitely return.

Review 71:There was nothing to dislike

Review 72:Everything

Review 73:The small hot water heater for the shower in our room only provided warm showers for several minutes.

Review 74:Nice facilities and friendly staff!

Review 75:They need to update address and give coordinates for GPS.

Review 76:Staff was accommodating

Review 77:Just next to airfield
