Reviews for Manukan Island Resort
Review 1:friendly staffs greeted us as soon as we arrived at the reception desk. the rooms are as seen in the pictures, and meets our expectations great seafood bbq dinner was served for us and i have to admit, the chef definitely knows how to grill seafood. it was absolutely amazing! it would have been better if they provided us with more choices of fishes and possibly some chicken for the bbq. nevertheless, it was absolutely amazing. we enjoyed the food and the services provided. many thanks!
Review 2:Hope there will be free shuttle boat, the return ticket can be included in a higher rate
Review 3:good restaurant good food but reasonable price. Love the food there. The chalet is super spacious
Review 4:The services of the hotel, friendliness of the staff. When we had trouble with our stay, the staff not only helped us fix it, but also allowed us to extend our stay to manage the inconvenience
Review 5:Public areas are shabby and our exclusive (fairly expensive), beautiful chalet looked out at a row of rubbish bins instead of the seashore!
Review 6:Very welcoming, efficient staff and the accommodation is beautifully appointed inside the chalets. When the boats stop in the evening, it is your own desert island; very peaceful, relaxing and romantic.
Review 7:Clouds of mosquitoes on the sunset walk and the unfortunate washing up of plastic and other pollutants, presumably from neighbouring islands or the mainland. Staff did however work hard in the mornings to minimise the eyesore.
Review 8:The friendliness and competence of the staff, the setting and snorkelling (beautiful fish). The rooms were very comfortable and the air-conditioning very welcome. Good food.
Review 9:Paying €260 for one night, you would expect there to be electricity (and so air-con) available 24/7. That one male staff member confessed that the generator is old and in need of replacing does not excuse the basic, scheduled - they give you a sheet listing the down time at least - lack of power twice during the day. Also the menu was limited to c.8-10 dishes and of that 3 were unavailable to me. No local seafood and, again, €260 demands more than an, admittedly tasty, beefburger.
Review 10:Staff were pleasant and attentive.
Review 11:The biggest problem may be the electricity suspension in specific time intervals. We think the resort should really consider improve this.
Review 12:Meeting extremely kind and thoughtful staff at the first moment on the island who kindly accepted our early check-in. Staff at the restaurant was all very friendly, we really enjoyed the time chatting with them. We felt that the staff at the resort really care for customers' needs. Though the view of the beach was so-so, it was still a great experience to play snorkeling there to have a look at the beautiful coral reef and star fish and etc. The villa we were living in was just amazing, the entire house was made of wood and it was so pretty and relaxing inside-and-out. The island at daytime was filled with crowds, but it became so much quiet after 5 pm and you can truly enjoy the beautiful peaceful island then.
Review 13:Restaurant food is not up to the standard... Especially the ala carte. We didn't get a fresh prawn / seafood.. It smells.
Review 14:Love the villa..
Review 15:Great Staff and Great Service
Review 16:Getting to the unit is a bit difficult for those who have problem with their knee or leg. Too many steps.
Review 17:Very comfort and nice place. Nice beach.
Review 18:No safe in the room. Restaurant menu very basic.
Review 19:Nice beach. 2 bedroom chalet good for group with shared living room.
Review 20:none.
Review 21:Beautiful island, at the end of the day it's really quiet on the island. Staff is very nice and friendly.
Review 22:Transportation was quite expensive, contacting to hotel reception is difficult, limited food choice in restaurant
Review 23:Location and staff are cooperative
Review 24:Sandfly and dead corals
Review 25:Saying goodbye and not being able to afford to stay longer.
Review 26:Wonderful setting, great snorkelling, friendly and extremely helpful staff, beautiful lodge. we all loved it.
Review 27:Red wine is very cold. Too many people on the weekend.
Review 28:Very friendly staff and comfortable lodge. Close to the beach. Many garbage drift to the beach but those are from KK. Staff cleans every morning. (We helped them) Beautiful sunset point. I really recommend to go to the beach in the morning before breakfast! We were swimming with nobody.
Review 29:Lot of tourists coming by boat for only one afternoon to the beach... and lot of rubbish each evening on the sand.
Review 30:Chalets are lovely and the staff very helpful.
Review 31:The beach is very very dirty, it is difficult to imagine where all the things come from, such as baby diapers, plastic bags, everything you can find on the waste...the water is not as clear as from the other islands. Hotel personal tryed to clean the private beach but in order to keep it clean they would need to run all day long. The breakfast is very low quality for this price standard, quite frustrating. From the "a la carte" menu many items were missing or sold out. Many day tourist with lunch boxes and all kind of scrap gives the impression of a very low standard beach. ( loud people screamming all the time).Private beach area was not respected by daily tourists.
Review 32:The challes are beautifull and close to the beach. After 17:00 you can feel that you are on a National Park close to the nature.
Review 33:1.The food was uninspiring and boring...AND too expensive for this very average menu & quality. 2.No telephone; cell phone signals;no wofi; not email..zero..no communication in or out! 3. Guests pay more by 2x than others to go in town by boat? Expensive..why?
Review 34:The chalet was quaint in wood, clean and comfortable ...the beaches were very nice ..the snorkeling very easy and safe. would be boring if the weather is bad, nothing else to do. The staff is very friendly & try hard to please, .
Review 35:It is a nice island but the tourists are not responsible enough for the nature. They throw away their waste everywhere but the waste bins are full too early and there are not enough if them. Island needs an new waste concept containing three parts: - avoiding waste - collecting waste - guards and penalty for breaking rules
Review 36:Nice island with baby crocodiles, many fishes, corals. Nice cottages, food ok is ok. Snorkeling, parachute, leisure activities.
Review 37:Too much people in daytime. Too commercial.
Review 38:All staff were very friendly and service minded.
Review 39:poor service at perahu restaurant and food does not taste
Review 40:good service from receptionist
Review 41:Run down facilities, staff altitude bad
Review 42:None
Review 43:No events at night, go to bed @ 8pm. Not many choices of food.
Review 44:All nature, comfortable and relax~ great environment, private beach.
Review 45:food sucks and limited
Review 46:island view is wonderful
