Reviews for Salome Hotel
Review 1:Satellite TV setup was a bit convoluted
Review 2:Welcoming, attentive staff, very helpful in recommending range of restaurants and sights etc. Good Wi-Fi. Car parking available outside hotel. Hotel is a 10 min walk away from St George's Church and the Archaeological Park.
Review 3:Most of the staff does not speak English well so I had difficulty communicating with them.
Review 4:The hotel staff were kind, their services were good. I was picked up at the appointed time to the airport.
Review 5:Good location close to the Madaba Mosaic, confortable large beds, friendly staff and helpful owner, fine breakfast included. Free parking. Easy to reach from Amman Airport (within 15-20 minutes) with GPS. Recommend!
Review 6:The only trouble was beyond the hotel staff's control, as the town government was replacing water pipes along the road in front of the hotel. There was a little trench dug around the hotel where they were laying pipe, but the hotel staff made a bridge and walkway so we could transverse the trench easily enough.
Review 7:The room was pleasantly situated, clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and spoke English well. They were eager to assist us in any way we needed. We enjoyed the restful and quiet atmosphere of the room. The breakfast was adequate and the hotel was situated in a good part of town.
Review 8:Everything was perfect.
Review 9:The staff did all they could to make our stay as good as possible, solving every question we had and giving us excellent advices on what to visit while in the region. The room was very good, very clean, with one of the most confortable mattress I've slept in during my stay in Jordan. No doubt that, if I ever visit Madaba or need a place to sleep near the airport, this will be the place I will choose.
Review 10:Once the heat was working in the rooms, the stay was pleasant. For the price, this hotel offered good value and a more convenient location to get to the airport that staying in Amman.
Review 11:Shower cubicles were cramped. Dinner options are pretty basic but there are other restaurants nearby.
Review 12:Good breakfast, clean facilities, easy parking, fast WiFi.
Review 13:There is mosque close by and you wake up at prayer times.
Review 14:Very relaxed atmospere. I can highly recommend this hotel to anyone. Very good value and location.
Review 15:Dinner was boring and not good deal for price.Hamburger bun was very hard, not edible.
Review 16:Very clean and modern. Cheaper taxi fares than other hotels. Breakfast was excellent; had pancakes!
Review 17:Unstable wifi (but it depends on room location).
Review 18:Close to european standard with a very reasonable price. Staff is caring. Located 5-10min walking from the city center and touristic highlights. Definitely a great deal in a city that worth the visit.
Review 19:Noisy air conditioning unit in room.
Review 20:Quiet area, parking right next to the hotel, safe for a single young white female by herself in the evening as well. Air conditioning was a little finiky at times leading to poorer quality sleep, but overall good.
Review 21:Just returned from an 8 day adventure in Jordan, the Salome was the ideal base and ticked many boxes. I stayed in room 30 at the front of the hotel with a balcony. It was quiet, clean, tidy and comfortable. The water was hot and plentiful and the AC when required delivered. The wifi signal was good in the room, having a better reception in the communal areas downstairs. The Salome, is clearly a family affair, with Majdi at the helm. It has a very friendly and helpful atmosphere and I felt welcomed and relaxed from the start, which is a big bonus after an active day. Breakfast was more than adequate and most certainly plentiful, setting me up for the day ahead. I was also fortunate to have the services of Tawfeeq Salahat, my driver, guide and friend for the duration. I had initially wanted to hire a car to travel independently, however, Tawfeeq had the benefit of 'local knowledge' and I visited places I hadn't initially considered and am grateful that I did. He also seems to know everyone one in Jordan, which is always helpful, especially at check points. I fully maximised my stay in Jordan, covering the middle and south of the country and fully recommend a stay at the Salome and Tawfeeq ensures you see sights a tourist wouldn't necessarily see. He'll even take your photo, which saves having an album full of 'selfies'!
Review 22:During check out I thought my wife grabbed the suitcase and she thought I had it. We drove on about 20 minutes toward Allenby with a tight time schedule. We stopped for a picture and the hotel staff pulled up behind us with the bag. I travel often and have never had Hotel staff that accommodatingEspecially when the error was on my part.
Review 23:Arriving very late at night, this hotel was a budget option for us. The staff were friendly and accomadating, The hotel is near to the tourist spots and plenty of cafes.
Review 24:no slipper
Review 25:good staff
Review 26:some problem with the hot water the first night
Review 27:nice place, friendly people
Review 28:people smoking in the lobby with airconditioner on
Review 29:very clean and walking distance to the center
Review 30:Showers are small.
Review 31:30 mins from the airport.
Review 32:Clean hotel, well located for Madabas tourist spots. Parking.
Review 33:The breakfast could be improved.
Review 34:A quiter location, the decor was nice. Close to everything. Family feel.
Review 35:Nothing to tell
Review 36:The personal touch gives a good feeling.
Review 37:There is no Bath Tub plug
Review 38:almost everything
Review 39:Great hospitality and nice place for a small family.
Review 40:Good price for the hotel near the aeroport
Review 41:Clean and complete rooms. Nice breakfast buffet and friendly and helpful staff
Review 42:room in realty a far more smaller and less well equipped than they are displayed on booking
Review 43:great position, great staff, all the facilities you may need are available. Excellent breakfast and cleaning of all the hotel.
Review 44:the room with the balcony that was showed to us looked a bit outdated so we chose the one without the balcony. It takes a long while to wait for the bathing water being heated up. Unstable wifi. Breafast is very simple but acceptable. TV didn't work and it took a while to get it fixed. The hotel was nice enough to offer two coke for free though.
Review 45:very friendly and helpful staff. The tours offered by the hotel are fair. Location is good, though a short walk to downtown is needed. Taking a taxi from the bus station takes less than 5 minutes and costs 1 dinar (be reminded to bargain for it). This little town is worth a stay; it is a pity, though, no public transportation to petra or aquaba is offered so that a taxi/bus ride back to anmman is needed if you plan to continue to head south.
Review 46:The staff were outstanding and the friendliness of the Canadian Manager made a very good impression. The location was good and the parking was no problem. The bed was comfortable and the breakfast was good. A very nice stay!
Review 47:Breakfast was perfectly acceptable if uninspiring ... Very similar to other places we stayed at in Jordan.
Review 48:Staff very helpful. The free WiFi is the best I have had in any hotel. Madaba is a great location for viewing sites easily - as far as Jerash and Aljoun, Mt Nebo and the Dead Sea resort. We could have gone to Arzaq in the east ... but Madaba proved sufficiently interesting for us to spend a day there. Check out the bakers (top of the street - see below - and on the road to the left about halfway up) and butchers (top corner of the street the gold domed mosque). Give a tomato, onion and herbs to the butcher who will mince it with lamb - take it to the baker - who will cook cheese / / spinach - into traditional 'pasties'. Delicious fresh and we had enough for 10 for 7 JD.
Review 49:all was good.
Review 50:Salome was a nice hotel. Staff was very friendly upon reception. There was heating in the rooms and good wi fi. Room was clean. Breakfast was good. This is a great budget option.
Review 51:To be honest if I had any complaints i'd be nit picking. And a wordof advise, if there's anything you have a problem with, just say itto the friendly staff. There is no point coming writing about somethingwhen you get home. If you raise an issue there and then it can probablybe easily dealt with.
Review 52:We arrived in Jordan late evening and needed somewhere to stay that wasreasonably priced and well received by previous guests. We had nottransport or accomdation booked on arriving for the rest of the week.Having Salome hotel as a first point of contact was great because theywere able to organise a driver for us, a trip to the dead sea andrecommendations for some delicous local food. The value for money wasfab as the price for the night was about 30 euro at the time for bothmyself and my partner and it included a really nice healthy breakfast inpreperation for the long day ahead, the staff were helpful, the placewas as clean as I would expect a hotel should be, the room wascomfortable with a nice big bed. The hotel staff organised our veryfriendly driver, Tafiq, who had excellent English and was able to showus some beautiful things despite our short tight frame.
Review 53:The location of the hotel was not in a very nice area. We did not feel safe. The hotel was of poor cleanliness and the facilities were very basic.
Review 54:Nothing
Review 55:I think it's probably a bit overpriced compared with other places we stayed in Jordan, but I can't compare with other places in Madaba.
Review 56:Our room was comfortable and clean. The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of the centre of town, and has parking. The restaurant food is basic but ok. Breakfast was ok, on a par with most of Jordan.
Review 57:Shower was a bit small and it usually took some time for the water to warm up. Restaurant menu was limited.
Review 58:Very accommodating nature shown by all working in the hotel. Decent sized room, free wifi, western breakfast items available. The family that owns the hotel has very good English language abilities and seemed genuinely interested in their guests' welfare. I'd highly recommend this hotel when in Madaba.
Review 59:Hot water in the shower was not enough hot for me...
Review 60:Very good hotel with a nice and skilled staff. Clean and confortable. Close to shop, restaurants and sights. Maybe one of the best hotel in Town.
Review 61:In the first room the air conditioning didn't work, the furniture was old,in the bathroom and in the room it was an awful smell. The towels were not very white.
Review 62:They changed us the room. The new room had new furniture, the surface of the room was bigger than the first one and no bad smell.:) The staff is very friendly. Close to the center.
Review 63:Cousy,very friendly family running the hotel where you feel like a partof the family when you stay several days.i deffinately recommend!goodquality for less money!close to everything.
Review 64:Not a thing!
Review 65:This family-run hotel is friendly, safe, close to the city center and very, very clean. The beds were great and the breakfast was good. Very helpful staff are very welcoming and their driver was great. This Hotel is great value for the money. Thank-you Salome, I will be back!
Review 66:Liked everything.
Review 67:Excellent location, easy access to center, area not noisy at night. Bathroom a bit small, but clean, and lots of hot water. Super breakfast, professional and friendly staff. Great restaurant on the road. Great value for money!
Review 68:Staff profesional, inteligente, kind, smiling, something almost impossible to find in Jordan. Compliments to the hotel! Good food Good location Very good value
Review 69:A bit far from the town center where tourist attractions are located. We took their driver to go to Petra, as there was no bus from the Mariam hotel (mentioned in the guides). Contrary to what was agreed, he was insisting in taking the Desert Highway, but we were glad to stand and follow all the way through the king´s highway with its awesome landscapes.
Review 70:Cleanliness and comfort of the rooms and facilities. Good breakfast, with delicious pancakes.
Review 71:Hotel does not organise self-drive rental cars (and it was difficult to get a rental car, only from airport or Amman) , only driver and car hire. When showing taxi driver directions - you may need to show him the address in Arabic or pronounce the address bc they might only understand arabic (if they dont know hotel)
Review 72:Our room was spacious, very clean and bed was good quality. The furnishings were good quality. The breakfast had some hot food and bread with jams-adequate. When i indicated i was sick, the staff (family-run) brought over a bottle of water and some cold/flu medicine. Hotel is well run and located next to a few other hotels in a quieter part of Madaba but it's only a few minutes walk to the main areas with restaurants and shops. Hotel is also located opposite a convenience store, liquor shop, and a really good pizzeria/kebab joint
Review 73:Freindly and comprehensive staff, the room was clean and spacious with a balcony. The hôtel has a free parking. Well located if you want to visit the région by car.
Review 74:I didn't like the location, there bathroom wasn't clean very well ad was not presentable looking. Food was not to bad but could be better. Bed was not comfortable at all
Review 75:I did like the people who worked there. They welcomed warmly. But that was all
Review 76:A very nice hotel in Madaba. Close to shops and restaurants. Central for sight seeing trips to Mt. Nebo, the Dead Sea and Bethany the location of Christ's baptism. Staff was very friendly And breakfast was good.Laundryservice across the rood.
Review 77:Wasn't really an issue but they didn't have a baby cot or high chair for our toddler. As I said, this wasn't a problem for us as he slept in with us and we always carry a chair support, but maybe it's something the hotel could think about.
Review 78:Easy-going and helpful attitude of staff. Compared to other places we've stayed, this is one of the better value for money hotels.
Review 79:The staff was very kind en helpfull. Wifi is very fast. The hotel is agood base to go to Mount Nebo or Jordan River and on walking distance ifyou decide to go to the center of the city.
Review 80:No. I would advice to go in this hotel as a very good point for starting your vacation
Review 81:I like employers: very kindly and professional. The position of the Hotel is good because it's easy for visiting the town. The hotel offers good solutions for discovering the places with good driver' service.
Review 82:The hotel was a little hard to find but we found it ...
Review 83:We enjoyed our stay. The accomodation is simple, the staff were friendlyand helpful. For me, that's more than enough.
Review 84:Despite quiet location this hotel is loud, if you are not equipped withhearing device you can cut off..! None of the doors is equipped withany kind of noise insulation, in consequence you can sleep after thelast one went to bed and the first one goes to the bathroom ! Thiscould be changed by marginal investment, but since people are loud, especially one group comming from Israel, sensible guest like us haveto suffer there !
Review 85:The joke "Highly Recommended..." At the booking.com side of Salome Hotel- how humble is the home of this writer !? Staff is friendly, correct, but we did not sleep one whole night due to permanent banging of doorsand acoustic noise on floor supported by stone floor.
Review 86:For the price you can provide at least a complete breakfast. Room could be cleaner (bathroom!).
Review 87:The hotel is situated in Madaba. Staff very friendly. No hassle with check-in en check-out... Free WiFi (FAST!) internet is very convenient. For just one night it is a perfect place.
Review 88:The rooms are not sound proof. Other guests coming and going definitely disturb sleep.
Review 89:It's a basic, clean room with helpful staff. Lots of hot water. Not very near Madaba's "main drag", but lots of free parking. Breakfast included in the room rate was excellent.
Review 90:The bathrooms were clean and tidy but the hand and bath towels were rather old and tatty.
Review 91:The hotel was clean and comfortable. the location was good as it was just a short walk into the town and sites. The road and area surrounding the hotel was very quiet. It was easy to get to the airport the following day. We enjoyed our stay.
Review 92:This is my 2nd time to stay at this Hotel. The hospitality is great. Thefoos is good and the coffee is superb! The Internet is good and walkingand exploring around the Hotel is good.
