Reviews for Grand Case Beach Club
Review 1:By now the new pool deck should be completed so no more construction. Given French influence, I would have though there would have been more attention to the bedding. Bed comfort and linen quality were decent but I expected better. The property was overall clean but not meticulous. The rocks along the wrap-around deck should be cleaned daily of cups, cigarette butts etc. The free breakfast was limited to coffee and bread/pastry.
Review 2:Gated property right on the beautiful Grand Case bay/beach. Very safe and secure feeling. The property has been given a real face lift over the last few years. It is prettier than the pictures. Very swimmable beach from the hotel north towards Creole Rock. Snorkeling around the rocks of the restaurant peninsula was quite good. The wrap-around deck overlooking the water and sunsets is very well done. The town of Grand Case and restaurant row is a six minute walk from the property. The rooms were well designed and provided excellent storage and livability. Even though the French side of the island is 220 volts, the bathroom had one 110 volt outlet that with the extension cord we brought, charged all of our electronics without an adapter. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
Review 3:We were bummed when we arrived that the pool was closed, but the management tried to make up for it. Although for the price it was a disappointment. It opened the last morning we were there and it was amazing.
Review 4:The beach and location are beautiful and quiet. Our room was very comfortable with a really relaxing view.
Review 5:Breakfast is so cheap that we ended up having it on our balcony 50% of the time. Surprising for a very neat place receiving a lot of american visitors. The restaurant (quite all right except for contracted breakfast) is embedded but not managed by the hotel.
Review 6:Location, apartment, sea view, cleaning. Everything except breakfast.
Review 7:Location on a beautiful little beach with calm clear waters. Also very close to the best restaurants on the entire island. Staff were great, rooms were very clean and in good condition with good quality fittings. We chose a sea view loft and I'd highly recommend spending a little more for the extra space and amazing views, especially at sunset.
Review 8:We felt it was a little on the expensive side but you do get a quality experience. The pool was being re-furbished during our visit but the beach more than compensated for its absence.
Review 9:Fabulous beach right next to the property and easy walking to the restaurants and shops in Grand Case, although the Sunset Cafe food was excellent and we ate there on 3 occasions as well as at breakfast. The staff were all very helpful and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Eating dinner watching the barracudas (don't worry - only the juveniles!) just off shore was great and the sunsets were fabulous.
Review 10:We didn’t realize that Sept is renovation time and therefore, the Sunset Cafe (a great memory from 1st visit some years ago) was not available for dinner. No pool either as it was also under renov.
Review 11:It’s a lovely property right on a quiet beach, well maintained, great sports shack, great restaurants nearby, and car rentals from the lobby of the hotel!
Review 12:The breakfast was a bit too basic and rushed. Because it was included it did not seem important and I heard more than one person ask for a pain au chocolat. There should be an even distribution of the pastries and bread for each guest. I know that there was a menu available but you had to ask for it.l
Review 13:I loved the room and the bathroom was excellent. Rain shower was fantastic, well decorated, modern and very clean. The sofabed gave my daughter a backache. This was my only negative. I would return witbout hesitation. Also easy laundry facilities. The beach was also well maintained and private.
Review 14:The breakfast is rather poor, the coffee is weak and cold, the orange juice from a box and the staff working at breakfast time not very friendly/helpful
Review 15:Everything else besides breakfast.
Review 16:The breakfast included with the nightly rate was poor and skimpy. One croissant each and a dry bagette with butter and jam. Coffee was not great and orange juice was the cheap concentrated kind. If you wanted anything else like eggs, fruit etc. you had to order off the menu. I expected at least fruit and today most accommodation that includes breakfast includes eggs.
Review 17:Rooms very nice, comfortable bed. Great having the kitchenette. Nice beach and view of Anguilla.
Review 18:We liked the beachside position, the fabulous unit with views of Grand Case Beach and Anguilla, the attention to detail and the wonderful Sunset Cafe. One day I even swam home from having breakfast. This place is hard to beat!
Review 19:The checkin was a bit late but they held my bags and i hung out on the beach and had lunch while I waited so it wasnt an issue
Review 20:Right on nicest beach in grand case. Altthough it feels very secluded it is walking distance to all the awesome restaurants in grand case. Restaurant onsite is excellent as well. My room was advertised as a studio, however, it was a full two story apartment with two bathrooms, a bedroom upstairs and balconies on both floors. This was just for one person. Staff was very helpful and accomodating.
Review 21:No real complaints.
Review 22:The property is lovely and well maintained. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Many free activities available on the beach: kayaks, paddle boards, floats, noodles, snorkel equipment. Friendly beach service as well. The staff will book excursions, tours and reservations for dinner. Walking distance to the wonderful Grand Case testaurants and shops. Short drive to Orient Beach and village for a different experience and more restaurants.
Review 23:No complaints
Review 24:We love the very friendly people. We like to stay in Grand Case because we prefer the French side and we love the proximity to the restaurants in GC.
Review 25:Very nice resort! Tho, first impression wasn't too good, the reception area needs updating. But the room was really nice ! New floors, kitchen area and bathroom was really pretty! Our room 208 had a great view! Staff was wonderful, very friendly! Sunset cafe had really good food. The water was so beautiful, tho the small beach needed to be taken care of a little bit better, the seaweed wasn't raked up enough. But the larger beach was clean. LOVED the upper patio and the wooden Boardwalk , so private and relaxing! 2minute walk into town, GREAT restaurants!!!!!
Review 26:Lots of mosquitoes inside our room despite our attempt to close doors as soon as we walked out of room. The beach was disappointing... too many rocks made it hard to even get in. Too much seaweed. Had to go somewhere else where we could swim.
Review 27:Loved the location - far from crowds and great food. Loved the service - very polite and friendly staff
Review 28:I had previously stayed at GCBC in August, years ago. Their beach this November was pretty near nonexistent. The staff said that it was seasonal, I hope that is true, otherwise GCBC may be a victim of climate change. They had one US style electrical outlet in the bathroom very close to the sink, which is kind of a scary option for expensive electronics. They would rent you an additional adapter, which just seems cheesy.
Review 29:Pretty much everything was first rate.
Review 30:I struggled to find anything to dislike, but I will pick on tap water. Now, given the lengths that are gone to to give the island its fresh water, my dislike is very small. It tastes strongly of chlorine, and never runs cold, even after a few minutes of free running. The solution.... fill some plastic bottles and refrigerate them overnight. The chlorine taste goes right away, and as long as the refrigerator is on :-), it is nice and cold.
Review 31:This was our first vacation together, and for my girlfriend, the first time outside the US. After a couple of cocktails one night, we decided to go away. We had both heard about St Martin so she did a little research and decided that the Grand Case Beach Club looked perfect. Wrong! We arrived to find that it was MORE than perfect in every way. Driving through the town on the way from the airport, you can see how simple life can be, but also how hard it can be. A hurricane had been through a month or so earlier, so there was a lot going on to get things back into shape. This didn't change a thing. Everywhere we went we were met with smiles and greetings, and this continued with the delightful staff at the Grand Case Beach Club. We were welcomed in, everything was ready for us, and off we went. We stayed 5 nights in our gorgeous ocean-facing 2nd floor studio with loft king sized bed. The appliances are all high-end and new, the room was immaculate, and then we found the view from our balcony..... Wow! Neither of us had seen a beach like it. White sand and turquoise water, just like it is in those pirate movies :-) At night there is a security team patrolling the completely fenced, gated property, and by day, the maintenance team is hard at work. The beach is incredible, and there is free use of floaties, paddle boards and single/double kayaks. The restaurant didn't disappoint either, and the food and drinks flowed nicely :-) A walk into town reveals a bunch of great places to eat, shop and just look at. We had a truly amazing experience here, are already planning our return, and would not hesitate to recommend this place to anyone. We can't get back there quickly enough!!!
Review 32:Nothing at all.
Review 33:Restaurant "Sunset Cafe" serves good food and cost is reasonable. The rooms are very clean and it has good sense of interior design. Faciliteis are secure. It needs a security cards to enter at the gate.
Review 34:Place is being renovated so access to main office is up a steep hill/driveway.
Review 35:View. Proximity to grand case
Review 36:Great location. Beautiful room. Lovely view of the bay. Close to really wonderful Grand Case restaurants.
Review 37:the staff and facilities
Review 38:The pool was closed for renovation but we were never told before arrival.
Review 39:The property and beaches are fantastic!
Review 40:Beach was great, service was excellent.
Review 41:Hard to find entrance as it's quite hidden away
Review 42:Well appointed large rooms right on a superb long white beach. Very relaxing, great amenities
Review 43:Very nicely designed apartment. Nice gardens & sea view. Lots of sitting out areas
Review 44:Weak wifi
Review 45:The views, specially sunset
Review 46:The room was infested with ants. I brought some home in my luggage. And the daily cleaning is superficial
Review 47:Great location
Review 48:The Wi-Fi needs to be updated
Review 49:The restaurant associated with the hotel has good food and a great view.
Review 50:spotty wifi
Review 51:waterfront view walking distance to world class restaurants
Review 52:Charge for very small gym
Review 53:Wonderful suite , amazing views, great location
Review 54:If one wants to stay in an area of the 'old caribbean charm' the Grand Case Beach Club is the idyllic location. Grand Case is a charming beach village, and the Beach Club is everything a traveler could want for. Too many pluses to mention, but know that the first time visitor will make certain it is not their last visit.
Review 55:There was a weird smell coming from the shower drain in the bathroom.
Review 56:the private beach and the amazing room. The surrounding area is very nice to walk around and there's lots to do. The view from our room was beautiful !!
Review 57:Sunset overcooked my otherwise tasty Grouper dinner.
Review 58:My 3rd fl room was quiet, clean, very Well appointed (w/frig, oven, coffee & tea pots, utens) with a beautiful ocean view. The Sunset Cafe was very good; Hostess Sandra was excellent. FREE Wi-Fi!
Review 59:Arrival was delayed by a day due to the airlines - and Grand Case BeachClub would not make an exception and still charged for the room I couldnot use. Would not recommended due to lack of understanding andconsideration!!!!!!
Review 60:Ben and his wife and their staff at the activities desk were so friendly and helpful. Ben was our underwater tour guide on a snorkeling trip where we used their high quality equipment, and his wife gave great paddle boarding lessons.
Review 61:Food at the cafe was fine, even good, and staff was super friendly, but given the quality of food in the rest of Grand Case, would expect better.
Review 62:Amazing water sports staff. Do not miss their snorkeling trip leaving from the hotel.
Review 63:My room was on the first floor and the path behind the rooms is really close to the door, so I was awakened several mornings by people talking outside my room.
Review 64:The staff were great. Very friendly and helpful.
Review 65:Continental breakfast was poor. Needs fresh juice, fruit, perhaps some yoghurt. Office staff failed to make a dinner reservation on two occasions, and failed to make a massage reservation. Aside from handing out keys and taking the money, they did little else.
Review 66:The location is superb, and the cleaning staff first rate. The bar staff and restaurant staff were extremely friendly and efficient.
Review 67:It was not clear from the information provided that this was a thirdfloor walk-up and while it was clear that there was a sleeping loft itwas not clear that there was not even a powder room at the loft level.
Review 68:Location
Review 69:I did go down on New Year's eve and we did fall asleep and miss anycelebration of the new year, but I am pretty sure we would have found itharder to do so in Grand Case compared to the Dutch side. You can find alot of party places on this island if that is what you want. Justdon't expect to find it in Grand Case.
Review 70:The location in a clean, natural setting on two beaches with snorkelworthy rock point and proximity to creole rock are perfect. Also lovethe Gourmet food available within short walk. To have two of our mosthighly valued vacation amenities in one is a treasure for us. But wealso value the friendly, fun-loving people of the French side and thesecure premises (for those who are not so friendly). Sunset cafe is agem and the people on the staff are wonderful. We have traveled in theCaribean for 20 years and have learned to appreciate what gcbc offers.
Review 71:its close to the restaurants
Review 72:The beaches, rooms, view, service, landscaping....all incredible!
Review 73:Loved the location (walking distance to lots of excellent restaurants) and the ambiance (opportunity to mingle with locals, not touristy, etc.).
Review 74:nothing
Review 75:Everything from hotel room to restaurant to location !!!
Review 76:Fabulous place to relax and enjoy the Caribbean atmosphere. Sunset Cafe food excellent, staff extremely efficient, as well as the hotel staff.
Review 77:The surrounding area is a little off putting
Review 78:The hotel is very relaxing and has a lovely location on the beach
Review 79:Location. The facilities have been newly remodeled. The restaurant is excellent.
