Reviews for Maison Raphael

Review 1:Before we arrived we received emails from the owners welcoming us and asking if we had any questions. They know and love Minori and the area and were so helpful and accomodating.

Review 2:Wi-fi could have been working more stable in the room, but it was not critical.

Review 3:Great location, close to the beach. Wonderful people, very friendly, the owner was very nice and making every attempt to make our stay comfortable. Thank you!

Review 4:Is a great family run place. The owner Antonio is always around and eager to help. His son who also took us around in the taxi is very courteous smart and knowledgeable about the area. Is a nice cosy comfortable place in Minori and would definitely like to stay here again when we visit next

Review 5:Not good for elderly or wheelchairs as access to hotel is via steep steps. But whole resort is located on hillsides.

Review 6:Staff friendly, good location on the hill.

Review 7:The staff could not be more helpful on all matters relating to our stay, helping us with arrangements for day trips and being friendly and courteous in every way. The smell of lemon blossom on the terrace was lovely. A good location to access the other towns along the coast by bus or on foot. Many thanks Antonio and Raffaele.

Review 8:Nothing to complain about. However, if you have any disabilities there may be a problem with the stairs.

Review 9:Very friendly and helpful staff. Locked parking available very close to the hotel. Seems a little bit off when looking at the map, but actually only three minutes walk to the square. Bus stop right outside (for buses to Amalfi, etc). Would be happy to stay there again.

Review 10:A/c extra 5€ a night but not a big deal. It wasn't hot. Couldn't get wifi to work in my room but that didnt bother me. The bed could've been softer for my taste. Oh and there were ants in my room. The room waz next to lemon groove and I left food out so you know of course there were ants. It really wasn't a big deal to me but might bother someone.

Review 11:The owner was a superb host! Very friendly, helpful, and spoke excellent english. The room was nice and clean with a wonderful balcony.

Review 12:We loved the property, the location and the staff. Antonio was extremely helfpul and very cheerful with our many inquiries about local activities including transport to surrounding areas. We really appreciated his help!

Review 13:The only minor point was that there was no WiFi connection in the room. However, it was very pleasant to sit on the terrace next to the hotel reception to check our e-mails.

Review 14:Everything has been said about this hotel in previous reviews. This is a fantastic place to stay on the Amalfi coast. We really enjoyed our stay at Maison Raphael and warmly recommend it.

Review 15:The lowest-down rooms don't have the best views but are good value so it's not a problem!

Review 16:Had a wonderful stay at Maison Raphael. Antonio was incredibly welcoming and full of good tips on what to see and do in the area. Breakfast was lovely, great coffee and nice views of the town from the balcony and only a couple of minutes walk into the centre of town and the beach.

Review 17:We booked a superior double room, yet we received a regular double with the smallest balcony. The description of the superior double does not match the actual room. The owner agreed to change the room for us and we moved to a triple room, yet our stay was compromised. The beds are not confortable and the bathroom and furniture is backdated. The rooms are not soundproof as stated in the description. The access to the property is difficult as the building is set in a curve with no sidewalk. You need to climb quite a few steps directly from the national road to get to the building, so if you travel with small children, it will be a pain. The staff looking after the property at night were extremly noisy, preparing breakfast at 3.00 am and also walking anf caughing on the hall, not minding that quests are trying to get some rest. The room doors are not isolating the noise from the hall. We checked out after one night as we could not sleep at all.

Review 18:Close to the beach and warm welcome. Hospitality of owner. The owner tried to accomodate ower needs.

Review 19:We were out on the road side but when the door to the balcony was closed it was very quiet. Ask for the correct wifi code early in your visit. If you're leaving early on your last day, let them know the day before to make things easier.

Review 20:The owner and his staff were very friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was very casual in a good way, breakfasts on the little terrace were delightful. The room was adequate with great views over the hills and the fascinating chaotic traffic. At night the shutters excluded all noise.

Review 21:We had trouble connecting to wifi. However there is open wifi at somebars in minori so this was not a major problem.

Review 22:Antonio and his family were very welcoming and friendly. Room wascomfortable, good matress and pillows. Air conditioning worked well andalthough its overlooking a busy road the windows are soundproof and weslept well. We would stay again.

Review 23:GREAT LOCATION FOR VISITING THE REST OF AMALFI COAST

Review 24:Owner was extremely pleasant and hospitable.nothing was too much trouble for him .his knowledge of the area was also a tremendous help .

Review 25:Nothing

Review 26:Location is great very near the beach and restaurants etc. there is a nice roof terrace too. Also tony the owner is super helpful and nice.

Review 27:Wonderful staff, could not ask for more friendly or helpful hosts. This made for a very enjoyable stay in such a beautiful location.

Review 28:Perfect place for a family gathering.

Review 29:Only stopped being an ever bigger score because of traffic noise.

Review 30:Friendly staff

Review 31:The size of the room ,the location of the hotel

Review 32:The gentleman that owned it was very helpful

Review 33:Close to the bus stop and beach. Compared to Amalfi and Positano, Minori is less touristic.

Review 34:We stayed at this wonderful place for 6 days. The gentlemen working there were really nice, super friendly and very helpful. Minori is a nice and quiet town if you are looking for a relaxing atmosphere and we would recommend it as a base if you are visiting the Amalfi coast.

Review 35:Hard to think of anything I didn't like! If I really wanted to be picky though, it would probably be road noise as the hotel is right on a bend.

Review 36:Extremely helpful, friendly and well informed hosts genuinely interested in ensuring we got the most from our holiday. Comfortable and clean accommodation with relaxed atmosphere.

Review 37:Parking was a challenge but again with Antonio's help it was just fine.

Review 38:Signor Antonio could not have been more helpful and charming, a true lodging host. A delicious primo colazione with a great view.

Review 39:nothing to complain about

Review 40:Antonio (the host) has been very attentive and nice from the first moment. We felt welcome and comfortable. The hotel is located on the main road and accessible through some steps. Because of its elevated location we had views of the town and of the sea. The breakfast has been with a wide choice and excellent coffee. I found it very nice that the tables were set as soon as we arrived. Rooms are basic but clean. Perfect relation of price and value.

Review 41:small family run hotel and they made you feel at home and very welcome. Excellent service. Pick up from train station at Salerno. Beautiful village of Minori with everything to offer steps away.

Review 42:The weak shower pressure was the only thing we found wanting but to be fair, we had the last room available ie the smallest, most basic and also least expensive.

Review 43:This is a wonderful budget option that is very close to Ravello and the more glamorous Amalfi but is much more local and far less of a tourist attraction. But perhaps the most important plus is the wonderful family who runs this 10-room hotel. Our stay was extremely enjoyable - we felt so welcome. Another important feature is the available parking.

Review 44:There are 23 very steep steps up to the hotel and then a long ramp. No good for disabled people. The balcony was very small. The staff did not reply to emails requesting transport from the airport. All of the chairs on the roof terrace were broken. The breakfast choice was limited

Review 45:The room was clean and well equipped. It had a fridge, air conditioning and a wall safe. The staff were friendly

Review 46:Very comfy beds and big bedrooms - having own balcony is a real luxury. Staff are friendly, charming and very helpful, feels like staying with a real host. Minori is a great location to explore the Amalfi coast without the touristy feeling of other towns.

Review 47:A very friendly and helpful family run hotel. Both Antonio and Raphael showed great guest relations and made you feel very welcome at all times. We arrived via the local SITA bus and after searching for some directions a kind shop owner called the hotel and within minutes Raphael arrived and picked us up, taking us back via car even though it was only 3min away. Rooms are clean, comfortable and with a view. Breakfast was cheerfully served daily and was more than enough. Highly recommend Minori as a place to explore the Amalfi coast and Maison Raphael as the place to stay.

Review 48:Location was great. No distance to ocean, ferry's, shops restaurantsetc. Antonio and Raphael made it their business to ensure we had astress free holiday. Nothing was too much trouble. Excellent service.Highly recommend this hotel.

Review 49:Roads a bit noisy, but entertaining to watch.

Review 50:Fantastic location, authentic Italian village, away from the big cruise boats, Amazing staff who went the extra mile, (thanks for all the extra cups of tea!) Easy to get around and super breakfasts. Grazie Antonio perfecto memorable holiday.

Review 51:Bathroom needs an update, even new grout/ sealant would help. Drains gave off a sulphuric smell.

Review 52:Friendly, helpful staff, good location although some may be bothered by traffic noise. Nice breakfast on the terrace. Spacious room.

Review 53:Very nice and cozy hotel! Good location, easy to reach Maiori, Ravello, Amalfi, Positano. Very friendly treatment from the owner and personnel. Good coffee and breakfast! Guests feels very comfortable and homey. We had the best possible holiday! Warmest thanks to the staff, we highly recommend Maison Raphael!

Review 54:Nothing at all. A delight.

Review 55:The warm welcome and hospitality of the staff. Charming small hotel, with plenty to see from our balcony which had a table and chairs. It rained for the four days we were there and our very comfortable room came in handy between deluges. Car parking is easy (need to book), and all info/help was available 24/7. Very central for bus stops and restaurants.

Review 56:The location was on the curve of the main Almafi road so things could get noisy during the main traffic hours on the coast. Windows in the room were very good..so when closed the wasn't bad at all. They do charge a Euro 5,00 a day for airconditioning which i think is not neccessary, since one definately has to keep the Windows closed in the evening because of the traffic. We didn't need airconditioning because the weather was still cool. But visitors in the summer will definately need it. It should be included in the price of the hotel. The bathroom in our room needed some updating as there was a foul odor coming from the drains. Just needs to be fixed.

Review 57:Mr. Antonio and the staff at Maison Raphael made our stay pleasant during our second visit to the Almafi Coast. We were greeted always with a smile and helpful information about the surrounding area. They made us feel at home. We parked in their parking lot , several meters from the hotel and they were always ready to help us to get in and out of there when needed, since space is limited in the Almafi area, so parking spaces are tight. The location was great to reach the center of Minori by foot. Minori is still a very 'real' part of the Almafi coast..less touristic than Positano.. The people were always very kind and welcoming .

Review 58:Our host, Antonio went out of his way to welcome us from the moment we walked up the path to the hotel. He continued to be a perfect host and help us with our plans. I accidentally left my iphone behind. Antonio had it expressed to my next hotel which I was over joyed with. He followed up to make sure I got it. I would go back again.

Review 59:One might find that the room facing the road can be noisy, with thecoach sounding their horn negiotating the tight bend.

Review 60:Seemingly hanging on the cliff, overlooking and beside the main road ofMinora, and strategically located only a stone throw from the main town, the place is easy enough to find. You may spot the owner waving welcomeat you from the breakfast patio once he spotted your arrival. Pleasantlittle residence of 10 rooms or so, located on 2 floors, a bit ofstairway climb to the casa, and not something one would complain about. The ultra-friendly owner will help with all the informations around thearea, from interesting sights to the best ristorante. Fairly well-equipped room of most neccesities, breakfast included, and the frontcounter is staffed 24 hours. If you happen to bring a car, you can availof the carpark across for 15e daily.

Review 61:Small showers

Review 62:Friendly hospitality and eager to help with tours and recommendations. Quite laid back atmosphere away from the tourist bustle of the Amalfi town.

Review 63:Nothing to dislike about this treasure .

Review 64:Antonio is the perfect host and he makes everyone feel like a guest in his home . Always ready to chat and provide information about the area and some story telling into the bargain ! He makes the place exceptional . Thank you Antonio .

Review 65:If you want a totally silent place to stay, 'enjoy' hiking up the hills on foot. If you want a really pretty and friendly place and absorb the atmosphere of the local life along the costiera, choose the Maison Raphael!

Review 66:It's a really nice and cosy place with a very, very friendly and humorous host. He is being so helpful. Although the Maison Raphael is located directly along the costiera amalfitana at a serpentine it was not too loud, especially during the night. So we slept very well. And: it is a pleasure to enjoy the rich breakfast in the morning sun while watching what happens down there along the street. From our terrasse we had a nice view at the lemon trees and over the roofs of Minori. For people who love cats: if you see a white-black-broune colored cuddly cat, please greet her from us. We had a lot of fun with her and geve her the name Florina.

Review 67:Our back room was rather dark and dismal compared to the front room withbalcony which we enjoyed on our first visit 11 years ago and the decordoes not appear to have been freshened since then. Breakfast is limitedthough croissant and rolls are excellent with ham and cheese onoccasion. Coffee and tea are fine but not the fruit juices.

Review 68:The friendliness and helpfulness of Antonio, the owner. As it was oursecond stay at his albergo, he gave us a ceramic plaque of Minori as agift. We like his breakfast patio with its magnificent views of thevalley and entertaining close-up of traffic trying to negotiate the bendin the road.

Review 69:I spent a week in this small and lovely hotel and I can just recommend it! No luxury, but clean and a good sized room, where I could feel comfortable and absolutely good. My room had also a very inviting terrace. The breakfasts are excellent and the owner does everything to make you feel good and welcome. Minori is a charming little town with nice people. The only thing I was missing there was a little nightlife (you could walk to Maiori, it is bigger), but it was still the perfect place for me to enjoy my holiday. I will come back definitely and then I will stay again at Maison Raphael.

Review 70:Maison Raphael is really a lovely hotel in a lovely little City. The owner Antonio does everything to make the guests feel comfortable. You feel so welcome!

Review 71:Meanwhile there were a few shortcomings which,in my view, are not of the hotel but of the surrounding. 1. The road is near and it is sometimes too noisy, but the glasspack is really great,so at night we haven't heard hear anything. 2. A great lack of night life! The place is really focused on families with children, couples, which want to spend time only side by side, and older people. At least there are restaurnts and cafes, but there we have also found only previously mentioned groups of people. As we have identified, Minori and Maiori are classified as recreation area for very very calm and peacful rest. It was not a problem for us for a week,as we have been there only for 6 days, but it undoubtly would become a problem for 8 or more days.

Review 72:The hotel is gorgeous ! The staff was absolutely great and attentive. Views from the balkony were also a pleasure to stare at in the evening. The sea with a beach is 100 m from the place. Also there ia a supermarket with fresh vegetables and fruits and other delicios stuff. Breakfasts were great, always with fresh croissants and lemon juice. The owner was so helpful, that even booked for us tickets on the boat to Capri with a special price with a discount! The nature is fascinating and chrming. It seems like you start to feel Italy from inside.

Review 73:Paid Wifi, Exactly in the first day of our stay, bus ticket seller told us that because of a strike Sita buses do not work! We asked for an alternative way to get to Ravello & Tony suggested taxis.(it was quite costly: 30euros). After 1-2 min we found out there is no strike and SITA buses are working moreover there were Sightseeing buses working at the same price (3 euros), so we decided to cancel the taxi if possible, unfortunately based on Tony it was late & impossible. So we had to use the taxi! Although Tony was very upset and apologized for this.

Review 74:The location is very convenient since it is right in front of the SITA bus station, however, one might be annoyed of the noise from the street while the windows are open. Tony (the nice owner) does his best to help the guests enjoy their stay. Rooms are clean & recently renovated. the bathroom is a little small; however clean. Rooms have balconies with view of the Minori.

Review 75:The location is both good and bad - right in town, very near the beach, but right above a fantastically busy road that's hard to cross, and very noisy at breakfast. You have to have your windows closed at night to sleep at all, but then you can pay for air conditioning. This is the main disadvantage. Otherwise, it's very good for the money on an expensive coast.

Review 76:This is a quirky, charming small hotel, quite quaint and old fashioned in its decor, and simple. It's wonderfully friendly, and the owner Antonio is its main advantage as he goes out of his way to be helpful and friendly. He makes the place, really.

Review 77:Recommend taking air conditioning for the extre few euro per night as there is alot of noise from the main road and you could not sleep with the window open.

Review 78:Maison Raphael was a great place to stay for value for money and good, genuine service. Antoino is a wonderful host and he works hard at making sure the customer has a everything they require to fully enjoy their holiday. He gives a genuine service and nothing is troublesome to him. We will look forward to returning to Maison Raphael.

Review 79:Always friendly and helpful advice from owner and staff. Excellent budget option for the Amalfi coast.

Review 80:Location and regular visits to Cafe Europa down the hill!!!

Review 81:English speaking staff, very helpful and friendly. Hotel is close to bus route & ferry making it easy to explore the Amalfi area.

Review 82:Very friendly. Good value.

Review 83:Traffic noise

Review 84:Raphael and Tony are the best hosts.

Review 85:Our stay at Maison Raphael has been excellent, could not have stayedanywhere better. Antonio a super guy

Review 86:Very good hotel! So cute and friendly! Highly recommend! Minori is the best place on Amalfi coast. Maison Raphael is the best hotel in Italy :-)

Review 87:The breakfast selection could be improved a bit but was okay.

Review 88:The location and the owner. He was really helpful and nice.

Review 89:A lovely place to stay in Minori. Great breakfasts. Antonio, the ownermade sure we had a wonderful time on the Amalfi Coast.
