Reviews for Grand Hotel Nizza Et Suisse

Review 1:This is not 4* hotel for sure! Service do not correspond to such rank: in the room no any information about hotel and service provided. you have to ask stuff and have to say - stuff is helpful.

Review 2:Location is perfect.

Review 3:Too many people from my own country. Male staff not very helpfull. Breakfast ordinary. Wifi in room was weak.

Review 4:Friendly maid. Large boutique room. Aircon good. Bathroom large.

Review 5:Booking.com advertised a free mini bar in all rooms which transpired to be a fridge with two bottles of mineral water which the hotel charged us for! There was no decent wifi signal in any area of the hotel. During our three night stay the internet was not accessible.

Review 6:The evening meals were absolutely stunning! The waiting staff in the restaurant were the heart of this hotel! The spa was available to book at an extra cost and worth every penny!

Review 7:"Spa experience" is nothing special - if you have been to a modern gym or a regular 4 star hotel, then you have already done it.

Review 8:Reception staff very helpful and efficient, helped us with paperwork to avoid a fine for driving into the city centre (necessary to access hotel and free parking). Room clean and comfortable though quite small. Good breakfast.

Review 9:Air conditioning was turned off because was not THE SEASON. Sorry I dont't understand THAT logic. If it is hot, regardless of the season, you need to have air conditioning.

Review 10:Ample rooms, shower and superb dining facilies. Heplful staff.

Review 11:Live entertainment on the front terrace at night. The music was extremely loud even with all windows and shutters closed. After the first night staff assured us it would not happen again, but it continued for a second night during our 6 night stay. We appreciate others would not be bothered but we chose the hotel for its quiet location so just ask that it should be mentioned on their website so people are aware. Some night staff were not interested in our comments

Review 12:Secure free parking, excellent breakfast, dinner good value. Lovely big bedroom and bathroom as standard. Quiet position in town. Easy access to shops and railway station. A little tired but spotlessly clean.

Review 13:The pillows were hard Some of the staff were not friendly We had to constantly ask for the air conditioning to be put back on

Review 14:Great breakfast but needed some variety Nice enough room, comfortable beds but terrible pillows

Review 15:Oldish hotel, but would not object to this. Really no complaints

Review 16:Brilliant breakfast. Selection of everything you could wish for including smoked salmon. Cereals, fruits, cakes, coffe on demand. Swimming pool. Close. To town centr and market. What is advertised is what you get. Secure parking.

Review 17:Parking space can be limited on certain days. However staff assisted well in solving the problem.

Review 18:A nice classic Hotel, well situated in quiet area. Friendly staff and excellent cleanliness. Good value for money. Fast and reliable WiFi available for reasonable price.

Review 19:The hotel needs to be brought up to 2014 standard. Bedroom very old fashioned. Wardrobe with curtain instead of doors. The safe is small and have a large key. Shower over bath but no shower curtain as a result the water goes all over the floor. There are cracked tiles in the swimming pool.

Review 20:Breakfast very good. A large selection of fruit and hot and cold option. Dinner good value €25 per person for 4 courses. There was music in the bar on Tuesday night and this was held outside as the weather was good. The bedroom was large and spacious.

Review 21:The decor of the hotel was quite poor and I wouldn't rate this hotel as a 4 star. The swimming pool required a good clean as there was dirt at the bottom and algae on the sides. There was no information provided what services the hotel could provide you, what snacks are available, when breakfast starts and finishes and also whether there was any entertainment. If you do not speak the language and English is your only language there is only 3 channels that provide English TV.

Review 22:Our room was well equipped and decor was nice. The gentleman who was at the bar was brilliant and his service was amazing. The spa experience was very good.

Review 23:maybe the curtains and carpet in our room

Review 24:Pool Food fantastic Location in Montecatini Great helpful staff room bathroom view from bedroom wonderful

Review 25:One pie on the breakfast table had molds, but it was changed very fastly after we said that

Review 26:Outdoor pool, super delicious breakfast and dinner, helpful staff, low cost, private parking

Review 27:The internet was fine but could have been easier to use as you have to log in each time you use it. Thats the only negative i could think of.

Review 28:When we pulled up at hotel - we thought we must be at the wrong hotel for the price we paid as it was located on the main strip. On arrival we where shown to our large high ceiling room with huge bathroom. For us the location could not have been better it was 2 mins to some great shops, less than 5 mins to some super bars and 1 minute to a great park! The breakfast was great with a large selection but the best thing was the staff who where super helpful for all of needs - providing train times, directions, maps etc - i will definitely be returning and because of the wonderful staff.

Review 29:Wellness centre accessible only by appointment and mostly unavailable and often closed.

Review 56:The recommendation for the restaurant "Da Lorenzo" a terrible restaurant!!! avoid it!!

Review 57:Everything

Review 58:None

Review 59:Close to town.

Review 60:The room was hideous - bright blue and bright yellow and all dated, dirty and awful. The air conditioning is only switched on in the evening until 1am ... between thiese times the room was swelteringly hot. I paid for a superior room, in this supposedly four star hotel. The room did not have even a pencil, pad, not a Do Not Disturb card. Nothing. The bed was rock hard, and the pillows were light sacks of potatoes. Upon leaving I was charged for two bottles of water I had not consumed (I did not want to take anything from the mouldy-smelling fridge). The money was taken off the bill at my insistence, but this seemed to be done as a favour - despite the fact the charge should never have been there in the first place. This is absolutely NOT a four star hotel. Perhaps 3 star, more like 2.5. I cannot understand how or why it has such a high rating on Booking.com. I would NEVER stay here again ... there are many lovely hotels in Montecatini to choose from.

Review 61:The breakfast was good

Review 62:Difficulty in finding places in town for currency exchange

Review 63:Older establishment but our room nicely renovated and relatively large .... light bulb out and replaced same day that we reported it out ....breakfast buffet was very good with many choices

Review 64:The water pressure changes all the time in the shower - hot or cold. Сreaking floor and shaking the window glasses when you go throw the room).

Review 65:Home sweet hotel. I think one of the best in Montecatini-Terme.

Review 66:Wi fi did not work in bedroom 316 male staff behind reception unhelpfulno room service/ snack menu no leaflets/ instructions onhotel/ tv channels in room air con not working barman too busy toserve in the bar swimming pool not cleaned no details of car hire inhotel bathroom in 316 needs door painting

Review 67:Central location helpful female receptionists

Review 68:A minor point was lack of pool towels. We had to ask at reception most days but they came within ten minutes

Review 69:Great central location for town and trains. We were upgraded and had lovely sized room. Staff on reception very friendly and amenable. They organised transfers to and from the airport and allocated a room for us to remain until 6pm. Breakfast was good with choice of hams, cheese, fresh fruit with berries and differing cakes. Staff brought me a decaf coffee when asked

Review 70:Only one minor point is that the wi if could be extended a little better to reach all the bedrooms, but generally good in public areas.

Review 71:Right in the middle of town, great location and friendly, helpful staff, we enjoyed our stay very much and hope to be back someday soon.

Review 72:Nothing

Review 73:Majestic hotel, very friendly staff, huge room, excellent facilities, nice spa, huge breakfast. It was just great experience!! Probably, we'll come back!

Review 74:Nothing.

Review 75:From finding the car park to checking in, everything was as smooth as could be in a difficult location as Montecatini Terme has so many hotels. Staff were very helpful, the room was lovely and bathroom excellent.

Review 76:We wanted to go to Tuscany to celebrate a special occasion, so we booked a superior room. Unfortunately the room fell a long way short of its 'superior' listing and price tag. The sofa was ripped and the room although clean had seen better days. The hotel's only attraction, apart from the Spa, was the pool. This too, sadly, was like our room, slightly tatty and in need of an update. We complained to the owners and their response was like our room, tired and ineffectual.

Review 77:We liked the location and the restaurant and room cleaning staff were superb. Breakfast was very good as was the value and quality of the evening meals. On Saturday the hotel provides pre dinner drinks and music for their guests which we enjoyed immensely.

Review 78:Poor choice of hot meals for breakfast ( fried eggs, pasta with cheese and pancakes would be nice). We were not informed that the drinking water in the room wasn't free. Too late time for dinner-19.30 (but the dinner itself was really great for the money we paid).

Review 79:The staff were really helpful. Although we arrived at a hotel long before check in ( due to the night flight) they let us stay in one of the rooms for some time before our room was ready. They saw how exhausted we were. Moreover they helped us book the tickets for the opera concert and Uffizi gallery. Our room 317 was very cosy and comfortable, we had a window even in a bathroom! It was cleaned regularly and we didn't have to ask for any towels, toilet paper etc. A wide choice of cakes and pastries, tasty coffee for breakfast.

Review 80:Loved everything!! Lovely & professional staff, very spacious double room, nice pool area, excellent location to everything, excellent breakfast with big variety. Will definitely stay again!

Review 81:We booked a superior room but we were offered a nightmare room, definitely not included in any classification. The room was beyond any description, falling apart from all joints - for ex, walking on the shabby room floor covered with a carpet which was never changed since the hotel was built, produced terrible noises fom the wardrobe which was resonating sounds from every joint, the TV had no electrical raccord so we had the oldest/smallest flat screen TV but totally useless, due to lack of connection. The bed side furniture was falling under its own weight, and the dust clouds raised by waling on the carpets were making the air non breathable. Besides that, the most horrendous smel was linggering in the aira and the linen most probably hasn't been washed since last month, the result being my face covered with a terrible skin eruption, whose scars i still carry. All these details produced amusement to both the Front Desk and GM who changed us to the room we paid for the next day, and informed us that the customer protection office didn't exist in Montecatini Terme, so I can protest as much as I want, or call the police for that matter. The most disturbing of all this was though the attitude of the Front Desk Manager, who said he can do nothing for us, except for giving us - one day later- the room we paid for, and when I asked to talk to the GM or with the customer protection he turned his back on me and left me talking alone.

Review 82:The worst experience in my life in a hotel was just made bearable by the good location and the nice spa and the personnel we had at breakfast. My advice, try any other hotel in same area, or in Montecatini but stay away from this one.

Review 83:check out the room before moving in as there are several different space configurations....some rooms could be rather noisy when in front of the hotel

Review 84:we enjoyed eating our breakfast on the terrace in front of the hotel....also liked the proximity to the spa across the street....

Review 85:Superb location on Viale Verdi. Very helpful staff. A very old building with real character even if the decor is a bit sixtie in certain places. Good breakfast!

Review 86:No kettle in the room and fridges might need to be upgraded soon as one of them was a little difficult to close but these are only minor issues!

Review 87:We stayed here for 7 nights and really enjoyed our stay. The rooms are spacious with very good sized bathrooms and AC. The Breakfast was very good with a wide variety of food from hot to cold, including pastries, juices, cereals, hams, cheese, hard boiled eggs and a fantastic variety of fruit made up freshly every morning in a delicious salad. The pool while small is very well maintained and good quality parasols are provided for those who like the shade. The Staff were most helpful and there is a high standard of service in the Hotel throughout. We ate in the restaurant one evening and it is excellent. The Hotel is centrally located close to the markets, shopping areas and wonderful gelaterias. It is also convenient for day trips to Florence, Lucca and Pisa, all one hour by train with the station only a 10 minute walk away. Family of 5 Dublin, Ireland.

Review 88:Only 1 key was provided for room that was occupied by 2 guests.

Review 89:Friendly, welcoming and helpful staff. Ideal location to exploretuscany. Convenient location to spa . Beautiful park just across fromhotel. Dinner for 25 euro in hotel was not only good value for money,,,,5 courses but excellent quality food.

Review 90:Pool area

Review 91:Typical of Italy I would describe it as shabby chic. Excellent position close to most of Tuscany by car but u need a sat nav. The staff were fabulous. Parking good but limited pool area. Took my disabled mother who got amazing attention and help to find a suitable room. Lovely town to explore.

Review 92:Instead of fresh coffee, the breakfast buffet had a coffee machine producing poor-quality instant coffees.

Review 93:The hotel is an old building with lots of character (although the facilities are modern). As a result the rooms and the public spaces are very spacious and attractive.

Review 94:The hotel is difficult to find through the one way system in the town by car. Pisa is not a pleasant place, just visit the leaning tower! Hotel outdoor pool is disappointing. Hotel popular with coach parties.

Review 95:A good base to visit the highlights of Tuscany and the hotel is in a very good location in the town. It is easy to visit Florence by train, and the other places eg Siena, San Gimignano, Montecatini Alto and Pisa by car. Breakfast is ok and the staff are very pleasant and helpful.

Review 96:We suggest not to use carpet stuff in the rooms, they aren't good for allergies and so on. We know they have parquet floors and we believe they are much better.

Review 97:The reception excellent. The staff very kind and cooperative. The waiters and room service also were good and kind. The Spa was also good. The place is central to be a basis for travelling around the Northern Toscana. The fact you get a parking place is very important. You may pass my opinion the the hotel

Review 98:At first glance, the "Grand" hotel isn't quite Grand(peeling/bleeding paint, odd color choices, a few strange residentsas neighbors) at all. Montecatini, and this hotel, have a faded four-star feel where one of the stars has fallen. However, if you stay herepay the extra 20-25 euros and use the spa which is brand new andclean...but you will probably be by yourself back there. Bring a friendand you will be fine.

Review 99:The hotel and location are actually quite nice, but I arrived herespoiled from a true five-star spa (Grotta Giusti). I liked the fact thatthe bar was open from 3pm-midnight, and that it has a nice outdoor patioso that you can figure out why exactly you are in Montecatini Terme. Itis a beautiful and charming place, but its charms are hidden. This towndefinitely needs some new pr.
