Reviews for Noboribetsu Manseikaku
Review 1:The smell of sulphur is everywhere.
Review 2:Spent two days in Noboribetsu. Spent a whole day viewing the sights and track all the recommended tracking routes given in the guide. Beautiful picture scenery, especially at the Hell Valley. The hotel wasn't great but OK.
Review 3:Very crowded and so many Chinese tourists.
Review 4:Excellent location, just across the street to Noboribetsuonsen bus terminal. Very friendly and helpful staff. The room is quite good. The dinner and breakfast buffet are great. The onsen is large and spacious.
Review 5:Facilities are very old. Wired internet is available in the room. WIFI is only available in the lobby up to third floor area. However if you have a laptop, it's still possible to connect the WIFI even I stayed at 9th floor. It's weak and unstable. I found out myself, the staff did not give me this info. He just apologized and said it's only available in the lobby. Obviously, he isn't aware much about his hotel facilities. The staff was impatient to deal with my request which I already email the hotel about the WIFI. The staff just cut me off without letting me explained further about the email. Probably the worst customer service I've ever received in Japan.
Review 6:Variety choice of breakfast and dinner. Good price compares with other hotels in the area. Nice Onsen. The hotel is just opposite the bus terminal, convenient for people taking bus to transfer. A car rent shop is also just opposite the hotel (adv booking required). Luggage can be stored after check-out.
Review 7:really UNHAPPY experience. The dinner buffet timing is a BIG problem. As we select 8pm, the hotel have the right to tell customer when they will close. But they say NOTHING, and only rush inform us on 8:50pm the dinning area will close at 9pm.
Review 8:None
Review 9:Very rude bell man who didn't empathise at all as we were unloading our baggage from our car. Nevermind that he didn't even offer a trolley to us, but he was rude and shouted at us to hurry up.
Review 10:The location is very strategic to all the essential sites of attractions.
Review 11:check-out time is at 10 am. We werent even up! Haha. Breakfast time ends at 9.00 but its not like they didnt tell us before :/
Review 12:I think this place is underrated with a very cheap price. Judging from the exotic features we couldnt hope for more.
Review 13:Tatami rooms are smooking, they only open the window and use spray to get rid of the smell. The food! It was a big deception. Worst food I had in Japan, after two years of living here. Don't get half board, it is a waste of money. Some people in the public bath don't have manners (sprinkling water over everyone when they take a shower)
Review 14:Noboribetsu onsen. Tatami room (except smoke smell)
Review 15:1) hotel slightly old though well-maintained... 2) it was very crowded as there seemed to be a huge group of students using the facilities as well
Review 16:buffet spread was decent
Review 17:We were told only can check in at 3 pm although we arrived at there at 2:30 pm. Little choices for the buffet. seafood is not fresh.
Review 18:Big room with Japanese style. Including breakfast and dinner. But the meal choices limited.can take a spring water bath in the hotel. A wonderful hotel.
Review 19:dirty and smelly room.
Review 20:dinner is very good with fresh and local produce. but room is very dirty and old. your foot get all the dirts from floor. my wife extremely unhappy about this.
Review 21:A bit confusing layout. Easy to follow the room# sign walking out from lift to the room, but took a while to find the lift walking from the room. The staff's english could've been a bit better.
Review 22:Good location (opposite to bus terminal,) buffet breakfast, dinner, onsen, sauna all inclusive. Staffs are friendly. Room was comfortable and clean.
Review 23:the hotel upgraded our room because they had no more non-smoking double room for us. Instead they provided us a luxury suite with two rooms and king size beds. Also the staff can answer all our questions about travelling and meals.
Review 24:We stayed at Japanese style rooms where there was smoking smell and air-conditioners were not working well. We then asked the hotel staffs for air refreshing sprays and they also offered the fans.
Review 25:Our group enjoyed eating crabs and a variety of foods offered during the runner buffet. There are both indoor and outdoor public bath separately for male and female guests.
Review 26:They didn't have towels when you go to orsen instead you take the towel from your room and then return the wet towel to your own room. The kids play area was a bit disappointing when you have to pay to play table tennis and it was filled with paid arcade games. The swimming pool closed too early.
Review 27:Breakfast and dinner was fantastic with a wide range of variety to try Japanese cuisine. Easy walk to all the attractions. Western room was extremely big for Japan and comfortable. My husband who is 6'3 in height did not have any trouble fitting in the room or bed. The kids are was OK. The swimming pool was fantastic.
Review 28:very poor canteen; poor service; poor air conditioner; poor response to request; waited for half an hour to retrieve my car key; unreasonable expensive for the level of service and facilities
Review 29:big room
Review 30:Shower in my first room had no hot water, then they changed my room and the second room smelled of smoke
Review 31:Breakfast, and it was very close to the bus station
Review 32:Difficult to book a massage without holding the room key, but hotel gives only one room key per room when there are up to 4 of us in a room.
Review 33:Location was excellent...just across the street from the Bus terminal and in walking distance to the Bear Park and Jigokudani. Facilities were great...Karaoke, massages, onsen, shopping, arcade.
Review 34:Great onsen experience, big nice Japanese-style room, many tourist attractions are within walking distance. Free sushi for staying in the hotel for 2 nights.
Review 35:The pillow. I stayed in a Japanese room and slept on the tatami. The pillow was so hard, seems filled with beans. It took me a long time to fall into a sleep. Also the onsen closed at 10pm. This is a bit early.
Review 36:The onsen
Review 37:Bed bugs, waiting 20 min for dinner even when your dinner time is preset same with breakfast - massive waste of time. very mass oriented and not foreigners friendly :( big dissapointed
Review 38:Nothing
Review 39:The hotel provide the breakfeast and diner for guest the food quality actually not so nice compare with other Japan hotel I stay before .
Review 40:the hotel room price is cheaper than other hotel
Review 41:Nil.
Review 42:Location and the breakfast + dinner buffet is quite good. Although it only provide 1 type crabs (which mahoroba have 3 main Hokkaido crabs!), but the quality is good.
Review 43:All the emails, no matter in English or Japanese, sent to the hotel inquiring about shuttle bus and transportation got totally no answer except an automatic reply claiming that a specialist will contact you later, however still turned to be disappointedly no more feedback anymore.
Review 44:The cosmetics provided in public changing room, especially the Rejuvenating Gel, impressed me a lot. Regret not to buy one when leaving. The outside hot spring pool is well decorated in a nature way.
Review 45:The quality of buffet and breakfast is really so so even though it looks like there is a lot choices. Meals is not value for money.
Review 46:Perfect location, just opposite to the bus station. Very nice hot spring and facilities. Sweet Japanese style room.
Review 49:No wifi.
Review 50:Big comfortable room. Excellent onsen my wife love the outdoor onsen. Hotel restaurant reasonable prices. Location excellent just opposite bus terminal.
Review 51:single room is too small and old style deco. unpleasant white lighting in the room.
Review 52:nice outdoor hot spring. great price with good value service. wide selection of food in buffet. well shuttle bus time. convenient location.
Review 53:The food was very disappointing, poor quality and poorly cooked, except for one or two dishes. I also found it too salty and rather oily. The Christmas music in the restaurant was playing at a breakneck pace, as though harrying diners to end their meal. Food was exactly the same both nights we were there. Rooms were old and tired looking, and there was the odour of cigarette smoke lingering in the bathroom even though we requested a non-smoking room. The common corridors and lifts smelt of smoke too. Wi-Fi only available in common areas, which is rather inconvenient. Even budget hotels have wi-fi in the rooms. Overall, it seems like the kind of hotel intended for tour groups, being outstandingly mediocre if not downright bad. There were in fact plenty of tour groups from China that made an incredible nuisance of themselves, especially in the onsen, where they took pictures and shared food and drinks in a flagrant breach of etiquette. And this is despite having signs detailing the do's and dont's in the onsen.
Review 54:Easy to find, being located directly opposite the bus terminal.
Review 55:Really small uncomfortable pillows Old furnishings in bedroom
Review 56:Complimentary buffet was amazing Onsen in hotel Location right opposite bus stop Staff from diff countries
Review 57:Japan Style room don't have Non-smoking room. The room still filled with smoking smell although they have sprayed the odourless spray.
Review 58:Onsen is great.
Review 59:- a hotel with NO WIFI at all in year 2014!! - a bit far from the center and its not the down hill bus near bus terminal. - pool close early and open late, so we cant use it - normal small onsen, suggest you pay 2,000yen per pax to try those onsens in "Dai-ichi Takimotokan Hotel" its was great!! - restaurant, over crowded and no ppl collect your dirty platesss, and there's no place to put it either even you wanted to DIY.
Review 60:- Spacious and clean room with separate hall for 4pax (Japanese-Style Standard Room) - dinner selection was great but the crowd is over and the dishes are slow refilled.
Review 61:The whole place is old. Dinner is like hell when they mix tour group with guest who comes for leisure. It is noisy, and people tries to take good food as much as they can and hardly be refill the empty disches. Quality of food is sucked. Staff are polite, but caNnot speak English.
Review 62:Onsen is rather ok. Japanese style room is available
Review 63:Uncomfortable pillow Room need new wall paint Wi-fi not accessible in rooms Credit card with 5 digits PIN don't work
Review 64:Nice onsen (hot public bath) Food buffet (breakfast and dinner included) Walking distance to the Hell Valley
Review 65:car park quite far away though it was cheap. U can never win the prize in the arcade at 100 yen each throw.
Review 66:No general complaints. Lobby has free snacks and green tea. Flexibility in the letting guests choose the right sized yukata. Quite a friendly hotel for kids as there are arcades and amusement machines to keep the kids occupied.
Review 67:The restaurant was crowded and the buffet meals had roughly the same range for the two days we were there. The air con was not strong enough and we had to sleep with the windows open one night, when the room was too stuffy.
Review 68:The Japanese style room with ensuite bath, which we had, was spacious. The onsen facilities were good. Short drive to the national park.
Review 69:No WIFI in the room. WIFI only in hotel lobby. Suggest free shuttle to train station
Review 70:Hotel is located just across the bus terminal. Easy access to close by sight-seeing. There is English speaking reception staff to attend to us There is wide choice in the dinner spread.
Review 71:Only 40 mins for breakfast was not enough for my kid. And dinner was not that worth to its charge. Room was full with bad smell that might came from their onsen.
Review 72:Very near bus station.
Review 73:The fridge in the room had exposed wires and looked run-down anddangerous. The public bath only had baskets and not lockers, so my yukata was taken by somebody else...my mum had to go get my clothes from the room while I stayed wrapped in a towel. Do make it obvious the basket belongs to you--put something above your yukata, e.g. a comb or your underwear haha.
Review 74:The hotel was situated in a convenient location, with a direct shuttlebus service from nearby Sapporo at only 500yen (one-way). Also, it is acomfortable 20 min walk away from the entrance to Hell Valley (JigokuDani) and the natural footbath (Oyunuma), with convenience stores, souvenir shops and eateries along the way.The Jap-style tatami room was decent and perfectly clean, as expected of Japanese hotels. The public bath, including a pretty outdoor bath, was good enough for our 1-night stay. Recommend to go early in the morning when all the tour groups are busy having breakfast and checking-out. The buffet spread was not superb but alright for a short stay. The hotel has a system that arranges for guests to eat in staggered time slots, which is good as it prevents overcrowding at the restaurant.
Review 75:Very poor air conditioning system in room! Room was warm throughout and could not be cooled down - we stayed 2 nights and woke up several times in a sweat even when the air con was turned to max! Unpleasant to stay in room during the day! No wifi in room.
Review 76:Nice friendly staff and good buffet dinner
Review 77:We were 4 in one room but have only 1 roomkey. It is not convenience if we want to go out to different places/Onsen/Noboribetsu Hells/ walking street.we asked for one more key but answer is no.
Review 78:Buffet Dinner is various and good.
Review 79:Room was as requested, quiet and non-smoking. dinner and breakfast was great spread. Service and quality of food was fantastic. Because guest keep to their schedule dining time, it was not over crowded.
