Reviews for Kashoutei Hanaya
Review 1:Outstanding service immediately from when we stepped into the ryokan up through the moment we left. The onsen is small but comfortable and relaxing, not many people if you go around meal time. The dinner and breakfast served in our room were both delicious. We enjoyed our stay here a lot!
Review 2:The service was very nice by the hospitality from their staffs and the decorations was diligent which gave us a warm feelings like a home in Japanese style. As not a big hotel, the outdoor spring was secret and fine when seeing the snow from the sky. Will come again and recommend it to our friends.
Review 3:The town has few restaurants open in the evening when we travelled there during the end of Dec. Like most of the other hotels in Japan, the room is small.
Review 4:The staffs very polite and warm and the place is very clean.
Review 5:The air conditioner is very dirty. After turn it on couple minutes, I can see lots of dust on my mobile, and it make me keep coughing while keep it on for a while. If you are asthma, u have to be careful.
Review 6:Meals are great! Classic Japanese foods, great experience
Review 7:Eventhough the hotel is easily visible along the road, there wasn't any proper signage to the car park. We missed the road entry a few times!!
Review 8:Excellent service Good food Cleanliness
Review 9:Polite staff who go the extra mile, amazing ambience and an enjoyable Kaiseki experience. Small outdoor onsen, good toiletries and comfortable, cosy bath with few people.
Review 10:- its' either you have to speak Japanese or you have to try to understand Japanese will help foreigner in communication. - you might missed the hotel and parking is by the road, good thing its off peak season during my visit. - Japan is not really friendly to vegetarian, my girlfriend do not really take meat, only some seafood. I have admitted for my absent mind to inform the kitchen about arrangement. i end up eating double serving and waste some after i really cannot take in more. But, the food is so well-prepare, presentation is spectacular, as if fine dining in Japanese style, that i just felt sorry for vegetarian.
Review 11:-The hotel service is very good, you will feel like being treated superiorly, when you enter the hotel, the slipper being hand to you and before you check out, the staff will queue to bid you farewell. -All staff is highly attentive while they have some trouble over communicating in english. Luckily there is manger, whom i believe is the lady in charge who is very helpful and promising in delivering top notch service to staff. -Experience with hotel staff, left my personal set of toiletries after my onsen before dinner, it was not there, i would was expecting to be lost. The next day it was send to my room, personally by the lady manager. It not really luxurious stuff, and so i was told people from around the globe will be visiting the hotel, i really appreciate the way they treat guest. - Small onsen, but high quality sulfur hotspring, with open air bath and high quality body shampoo provided at public bath. -Dining, you will enjoy it very much for it provided a private room, you dine in with door closed, each serving come at appropriated interval which very precise when i finished it. amazing!
Review 12:Prices for the food are a bit high. From the pictures it looks amazing but expensive.
Review 13:It's a wonderful place. When we arrived we asked direction at the bus station and they called the hotel and somebody came by car to drive us. The staff is lovely, the room are very nice and the public bath is amazing. Very small but a real traditional Japanese bath. The outdoor pool with the sound of the river is perfect to relax.
Review 14:No bad experience, but the room itself was rather small and basic, though very clean.
Review 15:Impeccable Japanese service by dedicated staff. Beautiful Japanese reception area; beautiful garden and outside onsen.
Review 16:Nothing we could dislike about the hotel and staff. The only hotel non-related dislike was the Chinese group that used the shared bathroom and onsen before us. They left things around including paper cup that they carried into the onsen, waste water in the bucket at the shower, tissue paper everywhere at the change room, etc.
Review 17:Plan A Keiseki for dinner was superb (note: need to upgrade from regular booking). Room was large, super clean and comfortable. Hotel staff took our request seriously and tried to accommodate as much as they could. Really appreciate it.
Review 18:The room is too small and the outdoor onsen also small.
Review 19:They render special hospitality which couldn't find at others place. Very traditional dinner and breakfast serve which could be one of the highlight.
Review 20:None
Review 21:Excellent service - owner of hotel greeting to welcome when we arrived & goodbye when we left, dinner serve course by course neatly, breakfast serve as room service, good wifi signal
Review 22:The room air on wasn't cold enough especially after the onsen. Probably design more for winter conditions.
Review 23:Very friendly staff. Everything spic & span. Looked like attention is paid to every single detail.
Review 24:A bit out of the Noboribetsu onsen town. Have to take a bus (1 stop) and they don't come frequently.
Review 25:Very impressive dinner and breakfast. Staffs are very nice too.
Review 26:Bit far from the shopping street.. But walkable...and we didn't mind.
Review 27:small and family feel Onsen hotel.. It feels cosy unlike the big Onsen hotel in noboribitsu... Dinner was delicious and futon bed is much more comfortable than I expected..
Review 28:Nothing. It was a Japanese Ryokan so no fridge or other modern ammenities is to be expected.
Review 29:Staff were great! and traditional Ryokan food was awesome! The Onsen was beautiful and out tattoos were not a problem :)
Review 30:Booked two triple rooms, one has no shower. But I had shower after onsen so OK for me.
Review 31:Best presentation of breakfast and dinner. Go half board is highly recommended
Review 32:The location is right beside the main road into town. So you can hear car noise while taking bath sometimes, but not in room. Rooms are very well insulated.
Review 33:Food there exellent- presentation and taste. Small but cozy spa, nicely decorated, water quality great for that area, after two days, skin super smooth and soft ;) Owners and staff there super nice and tend to details. Love the deco and taste of whole setting
Review 34:We wish our stay was longer! The staff were very friendly and the service was top notch as well as personal! We tossed between booking a big onsen hotel against this one and we are so glad that we made the right choice!
Review 35:It would be a plus if they provide a bathroom in a room.
Review 36:Very cozy little place and take care guests like they are their family. Very clean and comfortable stay. I love the room size not too small. Open air onsen is the best and the cleanliness of the bathroom is exception. Lovely stay!! I ll definitely come back
Review 37:The only drawbackof the stay was the heating. It became so hot that we had to open the window, though there was a blizzard outside.
Review 38:This is the perfect place to stay away from the crowds. We loved the delicious food. All ten dishes were poetically introduced in a hand written menu. Enjoyed the onsen, esp watching the snow fall while soaking in the hot springs. The staff spoke English and were very polite. They offered to drive us to Hell's Valley which we declined. We needed the walk after the wonderful meals.
Review 39:The hotel can send you to onsen street, but you need to come back yourself. Very long walk when the weather is bad.
Review 40:I loved the onsen. It is small, but you can use it alone in the evening.
Review 41:I was suprised by how service and Japanese food can be in this restaurant. the people from the hotel are super nice and can speak a bit English. Although the onsen pool was a bit small compared to other big ones around the valley, privacy is an advantage.
Review 42:Wifi can only be used in the lounge
Review 43:Within walking distance to the attractions in noboribetsu onsen The onsen in the hotel The nice neat garden The welcomed snacks The hot and cold water provided in the room
Review 44:The food was the absolute highlight of staying at Kashoutei Hanaya. It is kaiseki Japanese cuisine and it was the best food we had in Hokkaido by far.
Review 45:Ryokan is located some walk away from the main sights. Also at the cross junction traffic. You can hear traffic with the windows open.
Review 46:Greeted us from the taxi. Helped us carry our heavy luggage into the ryokan. No shoes inside the premises (cleanliness). Wonderful meals in our own room. Love the outdoor onsen. Bid us farewell at the door when we left.
Review 47:Location is a little far away from the town though this is not a big deal as it's a small town so The place is a bit old and some facilities in the room need a refresh.
Review 48:Good staff and good onsen; room is very big
Review 49:they provide hearted service n passion. since the review here was good, he hardware is not as good as i imagine. But overall it is above the average. the only thing that i felt alittle disappointed was the food. since i book it thro package, it wont provide variations in meal set. I would love to pay more if they can offer us better food menu.
Review 50:Room without bathroom, must go to the public bath.

Review 86:Great service, food was amazing, rooms were clean
Review 87:need pay extra fee for bath
Review 88:Good quality of food
Review 89:Walking distance, but it's very near the bus stop
Review 90:Traditional type of Japan hotel stay
Review 91:The pillow too hard
Review 92:Accessible and convenient
Review 93:A bit difficult to find. The sign is small.
Review 94:Local atmosphere
Review 95:Not on the hotel but the public bus driver. We had asked for the actual bus stop to alight for culture village just 2 minutes before the bus stop, but the driver did not stop fr us at the location because we did not ring the bell. Totally not considering and responsible to the passenger and giving bad image for the city
Review 96:Relaxing and good food, worth for the money paid. Not crowded with a lot of group travelers. Most of the time you are using the onsen alone. The hotel located just opposite the hosen hospital, when you allight at the 厚生hosen hospital station, just look back, it is the small 4-floor building at the junction, 50m away.
Review 97:It's a good place to relax, the inn is comfortable with elegant hosts, and their food is delicious. The hot spring is small and exquisite. I wonder how to get a shower during women's period in hotel like Hanaya.
Review 98:Very helpful staffs which make me feel so warm although we do not know how to speak Japanese. They are trying their best to get us the information needed in English.
Review 99:As it is a ryokan, not all may find beds, or sitting on floor comfortable
Review 100:Excellent, helpful and courteous staff; excellent open air Onsen; near main attractions in Noboribetsu and parks.
Review 101:- Small out-door onsen - A bit far from the sight-seeing spots in Noboribetsu
Review 102:- Clean, cute traditional Japanese tatami room - Amazingly high quality breakfast and dinner, highly recommended!
Review 103:No wifi in the room.
Review 104:Is good place for a couple who need privacy and relax. Staffs are good, very polite, friendly and helpful. The dinner was awesome, nicely decorated and delicious, lots of dishes and definately value for money.
Review 105:very nice Ryokan with friendly staff, large japanese style room, few steps from restaurants and the famous onsens of noboribetsu onsen, free car parking and wi-fi.
Review 106:While definitely within walking distance, it is still slightly further from the town centre compared to the other hotels.
Review 107:The staff were exceptionally friendly and warm. Innkeeper even gave us a ride and left careful instructions on how to explore the walking trails. A cosy accomodation with a very comfortable in-house onsen.
Review 108:There is nothing not to like in this exceptionally welcoming ryokan.
Review 109:Everything was off-the-scale of excellence in this Japanese-style ryokan. The staff all fell over themselves to be welcoming and obliging -- they couldn't have been nicer. We were welcomed and shown to our room well before the official check-in time, given drinks and snacks. The spa facilities, both indoor and outdoor were the nicest we found in our stay in Japan. We were served the most delicious meals in our room.
Review 110:The best staff that I've ever met, very helpful and polite. The dinner was also very delicious. Taxi from Noboribtsu Station to the hotel costs less than 1800yen.
Review 111:nothing~
