Reviews for Hotel Michelangelo & Day SPA

Review 1:Reception staff, although helpful , appeared to be there under sufferance.

Review 2:Close enough to town to walk in , with a lovely restaurant a very short walk away. The rooms were clean with comfortable beds .

Review 3:Hotel is on busy road, with frequent arrival of bus loads of guests, with engines reeving outside, does not offer relaxation associated with a spa hotel, pool has inadequate facilities. staff at reception consistently preoccupied when asked for help or advice, superior attitude, overall unpleasant. booked 2 superior double rooms in May 2015, on arrival, after 1500 hours,1 room not ready had to complain to access superior double room, initially given poor quality room, although staff fully aware of booking. 1 junior suite booked, with balcony- plastic chairs, with no table , not up to expected standard.

Review 4:The food in the dining room excellent, with staff consistently working hard, although not relaxing, as often noisy due to bus load of guests- school children, taking up all service. Would not associate this with a spa hotel.

Review 5:The breakfast was tasty but no variety from day to day.

Review 6:The quiet area and green surroundings were great. Also we enjoyed the comfort of the bed, the pool size.Clean hotel overall.

Review 7:Our room was very small. Lack of sun loungers & space by the pool. General lack of service from the hotel staff. No Air conditioning in gym. Aside from house keeping, staff were not very forthcoming with knowledge, advice or recommendations to tourists about the area. I personally felt like I was putting them out if I asked for a drink at the bar or by the pool. Almost like I was annoying them. Also felt that because I couldn't speak their language they were not willing to make too much of an effort to speak to me in English. Just don't expect anyone to offer assistance or fall over you in anyway!

Review 8:Location, cost, housekeeping staff very friendly & did a great job keeping our room clean & replenished clean with linen & towels.

Review 9:The hotel is not a 4 star hotel, 3 stars would be fair. It looks like someone tried to refurbish the hotel with a low budget and tried to revamp some old fixtures with just some paint.

Review 10:The staff was very friendly and helped us with all our requests

Review 11:The only two remarks that we would have are: a. the balcony had some dusty sunbeds and we were able to use them only with the blankets that we found in the room. b. certain things like the wall themselves or the AC controller gave us the impression like there was not much attention to details. We think both things mentioned above should not meet in a four star hotel.

Review 12:The staff was great both at the reception and the breakfast area. The superior room we got seemed rather small at the beginning but during our stay ( 5 nights) we were not actually bothered about its size. The breakfast was for us the best we had in Italy this summer (we stayed in two other hotels). It is the only hotel in Italy that we visited so far that actually gave real espresso for breakfast and for espresso lovers like us this was a plus. The hotel is placed in a quiet area and you can easily walk to the downtown or even the funicular that can take you to the Montecatini Alto.

Review 13:Ifelt very happy and relax during my stay at Hotel Michelangelo.Montecatini is already a beautiful place but to enjoy your visit the quality of accomodation must be high too. This is my second visit to Montecatini and before I rested at another 4 star hotel. This time I really felt this lovely nature. With it's very clean and big and comfortable rooms with balcony and private parking, and delicious breakfast near the pool Hotel Michelangelo made us feel great. The staff was wery kind. Iwant to spend my holidays in Montecatini at Hotel Michelangelo from now on.Thanks

Review 14:Second day they forgot to clean room. After long day out returned at 6pm and had to ask for clean. Did not replace teas in room unless asked. Had to find somebody to serve in the bar. No atmosphere. Not 4 star.

Review 15:Most of the staff were very helpful

Review 16:Spa in the hotel isn't much developed to be called "spa hotel", just couple of saunas and massage room

Review 17:View from the hotel, stylish furniture, breakfast, friendly staff, hotel location

Review 18:As the superior rooms were not available we were offered a suite and we would definitely book this room again. We enjoyed the comfortable bed, the big terrace on the roof top, the great walk in shower and the music system were we could dock our ipod. The room was newly renovated with a warm, elegant finish. It makes you feel at home the first minute you enter the room. If you would like to pamper yourself, choose one of the suites. Also the breakfast must be mentioned. It was really outstanding for a country, were breakfast usually consists of pastry and coffee. There was a great choice of sweet and salty dishes and the home made cakes were delicious. Thank you to the helpful, nice staff that made our stay very pleasant.

Review 19:Nothing in my memory

Review 20:The choice , every morning after the pleasant breakfast , between to stay at the swimming pool or to have a one-hour drive to visit Lucca ,Firenze , Arezzo ...

Review 21:Not to be rich enough to have a permanent stay there !!

Review 22:The lone question every morning , after a very goog breakfast = To stay at the hotel all day long to enjoy a rest and sun-bath at the swimming-pool ..or To drive one's car one hour to visit Firenze or Lucca or Sienna or Arezzo ....and many other old cities

Review 23:- hard communication with the stuff members because not everyone speaks other international language, just Italian - i'm sure that not every guest want to see 2 little black dogs running all around when the G.M. is there

Review 24:- Flexibility for solving problems in different circumstances. If you will have one, ask Eduardo, he will sure help you - Location, pool, service,

Review 25:Person/people at reception was very unfriendly. I felt a very negative atmosphere in this hotel and therefore instead of staying 5 nights;we already left after 1 night.

Review 26:None

Review 27:The nice staff satisfied what we need with a great attitude although SPA cost 15 Euro each, but it is worth. Free parking, only WiFi cost some money, but in reasonable price.

Review 28:Not enough lighting in the rooms. A/C old and breaking down a lot.

Review 29:Geographic situation is perfect to visit Tuscany by car. Excellent breakfast. Standard rooms are small but we got an upgrade to Superior which I would recommend. Overall good value for money.

Review 30:In general no claims, but the hotel needs to be renovated

Review 31:Clean and comfortable room. Very delicious breakfast

Review 32:It was absolutely fantastic, beautiful rooms, beautiful view from terrace, everything very clean, staff very professional and kind.

Review 33:kind of outdate rooms

Review 34:the place, quite location, nice scenery

Review 35:a little far from train station

Review 36:Comfortable and clean room.

Review 37:Sound and noise from adjacent rooms.

Review 38:Excellent and varied breakfsst. A la carte menu reasonably priced and high quality food.

Review 39:Nothing

Review 40:Montecatini town ! Fantastic ! A piece of art and poems !

Review 41:Good WiFi

Review 42:location, close to major railways and highways. restaurants in montecatini alto

Review 43:The breakfast was wonderful...possibly the best I have ever had

Review 44:room on the 4rd floor - in the room the smell from kitchen old oil and dinners

Review 45:pool, friendly stuff,

Review 46:The breakfast was amazing and the place very beautiful and enjoyable. Overall perfect for a romantic retreat.

Review 47:Hot & cold water didn't stay consistent when taking a bath/shower-- BUT, everything else was amazing, including the spa ladies and I would stay here again!

Review 48:Great staff! The villa was beautiful!

Review 49:Sauna etc was not included in the price and had to be paid for separately. It was nice though.

Review 50:Beautiful room on the top floor with a large balcony overlooking the town.

Review 51:I like everything! Nothing bad to say about this place!

Review 52:Elegant and luxury hotel, quiet peaceful atmosphere and excellent service. ‎The staff is efficient, friendly and helpful. My room was comfortable, clean and modern. I would stay here again! I can only recommend!

Review 53:The hotel is a 70s building renoveted recently with a quite smallinvestment is evident - it is obvious looking at the new furniture andpaying attention to the sound insulation close to zero. The spa iscosting 15€ per extra. At my arrival at the 5th flor where my room waslocated one of the staff was smoking a cigarette in the corridor, 1 hourafter the same smoking person was serving me a filet at the restaurantcoughing on it! Last: the night I spent at the hotel there was a student-body staying over night, the noise was unberable, I asked the receptiona couple of time with no result. I promise that was one of the worsehotel experience I've ever had.

Review 54:the furniture is very old and the rooms are small. there is a smell of old furniture in the room. there is little lighting in the room. there is no shower cabin or curtain; the shower is positioned at the window (you bump into it at every move). The overall impression is that it's an old hotel, covered in a layer of fresh paint to make it look modern in the pictures.

Review 55:the staff was very nice and the room was clean

Review 56:We stayed early July for two nights after a week of traveling around northern Italy. We booked junior suite and had no complaints at all nice comfortable room with a terrace with great views of montecanti alto . Hotel is immaculate and the food is pretty good too . We went half board for 25 e extra per night. And itwas worth it. Although there are tons of restaurants in the local area . Would defimately return . Not just to the area but also the hotel .

Review 57:Balcony was not very clean. Tv has many channels but only Italian. Mealtimes are slighlty restrictive. The lift is a bit dated. The whirpoolbath sprays water around bathroom.

Review 58:This hotel has an attractive modern design theme, our room had beenrecently renovated so was in good condition, with a very nice bathroom, which has excellent fittings. Cosy beds and bedding, nice duvet includedand plump pillows. Room was clean and comfortable. Spacious balcony withgood views. Upgraded room was fairly priced.

Review 59:Mess on breakfast, dirty tables

Review 60:Location

Review 61:Fantastic atmosphere for a lovely time to spend with the best price and an excellent comfort

Review 62:Excellent breakfast, walking distance to center and next to Funiculare and famous ressorts

Review 63:It's location and friendly atmosphere
