Reviews for Guest House Tsumugiya
Review 1:As it is an old building, there's a lot of noise (wood cracking loudly), and the way the air conditioning is built doesn't make things better at night, but nothing dramatic. You just have to turn it off :)
Review 2:The guesthouse is an old-fashioned Japanese house, so if you're looking for something authentic, this is the perfect place. The staff is also very accommodating and welcoming.
Review 3:I loved staying at the guest house. First off hats off to the owner who was very nice and helpful. She made my experience in Ise very nice and was there when you needed a question answered and did her best to accommodate her guests The rooms were nice and clean, and the guest space was very nice especially since it allowed you to interact with other guests. I also like the idea of renting bikes because it allowed you to experience the area more and at the same time get around quicker and it wasn't expensive either. If I ever go to Ise again I would definitely come here again in a heartbeat!
Review 4:Gets very busy. Wooden building can be noisy. Downstairs toilet.
Review 5:Historical building. Close to station. Quiet, quaint area. Some good restaurants nearby.
Review 6:Place is very comfortable and nice, you can feel like in home. Most important thing that there are very nice, friendly and very helpful people. I recommend this place to all travelers ;)
Review 7:Area is quiet in evening and we found it hard to find a dinner venue as the restaurants all closed early. Try the station area.
Review 8:Lovely old house off Kawasaki St, known for its old houses. Friendly, English speaking staff. Great sento nearby (with electric current pool).
Review 9:Ashtray too small.
Review 10:For a guy came from stones wall country, it's lovely to try on Japanese wooden house. It's ruin but nice, the best is bathroom, big and can sit, only the bathtub is out.
Review 11:I stayed in the female dorm, which consists of a number of bunks. The bunks are well made, but the futon are relatively thin to be placed directly on boards. Most of the nights I stayed there the room was not full, though, so I doubled up my futons (as did some of the other guests).
Review 12:The guest house is in a 100 year old, traditional Japanese house. The neighborhood (Kawasaki) was actually known for its unique food dishes during the Edo period, and many of the old houses remain (and are far more original than the area around the Ise Shrine). The guest house has a friendly and relaxed environment. I like the fact that the owner thought ahead to have electrical outlets installed in each bunk. The guest house is quite new, so the bedding was really fresh. There are a handful of nice restaurants and bars nearby, as well as a couple of convenience stores.
Review 13:Felt like we were staying in a real Japanese house. The 4person room was generous in size. Balcony outside for relaxing in evening. Comfortable common room. Kitchen adequate for our needs.
Review 14:Narrow room. Only 1 shower
Review 15:Near at the two principal station of Ise. Easy to find. Near two big market and 2 kombini. Kitchen furnished. Free tee/coffe. No curfew. Cozy common room. It's possible to stay in common room without limit. Socket, light and curtain for every bed. Little lockers for valuable. Terrace with hammock. little courtyard. Cheap washing machine (100yen with soap). Cheap bicycle rent (200yen). If you want to extend you have a discount. Lovely Owner/Staff
Review 16:The kindness from the staff is very valuable. Tomomi san and Leon san are very kind. You can have everything you need to spend a night in this guest house.
Review 17:It was so relaxed and a.great friendly atmosphere. I really felt at home. with the curtains around my bed i felt good privacy and it was so cozy and cute!
Review 18:They provide free wine...and I got drunk...
Review 19:Excellent place to enjoy countryside and lazy life. I actually came here again one week after I stayed here for one night. It is an old house but with everything you need for daily life. As the owner Tomomi San said, this place is for "traveling as living", and it really gives you a feeling of home. One of the best guesthouse I've ever experienced.
