Reviews for Hotel Lidò
Review 1:This was our 2nd time @ The Lido, and We will continue to stay here every time we are in Italy. The location is perfect for day trips around the Umbria area. Rooms are comfortable & views from our room are great. Staff was helpful, breakfast was very nice.
Review 2:We’d visited Passignano, a charming little resort on Lake Trasimeno in central Umbria, but never stayed at Hotel Lido; which is a pity, as the hotel surpassed expectations and was very good value; comfy beds, very welcoming and efficient staff, free parking (even small Italian towns have traffic restrictions) and decent basic breakfast. We were only staying on a B&B basis, but ate there one lunch-time. Again, the food was far better than expected. Don't be put off by the exterior of the restaurant; slightly closed down and shabby looking externally; also a bit unwelcoming, on a private looking pier behind the car-park and hotel pool. Not a problem unless you have a problem with quiet restaurants; apart from residents on half board and the occasional tour group, they don’t seem to get much passing trade. But once you’re inside, it's elegant (apart from the shabby chic curtains!) fantastically located on its own jetty out over the water, with fab views across the lake, huge well-cooked portions (try the lake fish if you like whitebait, or sea fish if you like Calamari) and very reasonably priced local wine. Overall, a great hotel
Review 3:Breakfast was very basic; noisy room with lift nearby; no wifi for 3 days.
Review 4:The swimming pool, however we were not advised to bring swimming caps so could not use it.
Review 5:Staying at this hotel was like staying with family. The staff were very good and obliging, especially as I don't speak Italian. I could have happily stayed much longer. It was amazingly good value and the view was perfect.
Review 6:Building is slightly worn. Wifi only in reception area. I understood single rooms are situated next to the elevator, inquire if you want to avoid noise. Balcony not clean + low railings, don't let your kids out there...
Review 7:Great location, helpful staff. Nice outdoor pool free of use for guests, decent breakfast, free adjacent parking. Good value for money in this area.
Review 8:No draft beer, shower was hot and cold Struggled with Internet
Review 9:Location was perfect on the lake, swimming pool, dining on the lake was stunning. Local festival was on that evening and hotel was central for perfect views, fireworks over lake were amazing from our balcony.
Review 12:Excellent value for money in an amazing location! For a three star hotel, I could not have asked for anything better. Arriving late in the evening, we were warmly welcomed and explained everything the hotel has to offer. The room was very clean and had the most amazing view over Lake Trasimeno (definitely worth paying extra), plus the area is very quiet in the evenings, except for the weekend when there is nightlife but it is barely audible in the rooms.. Breakfast was basic, consisting of ham, cheese, croissants, rolls and cereals, but was satisfactory to start the day. There was plenty of information available for various outings and the hotel staff were always happy to advise on any local activities. The hotel is also in an amazing location, 5 minutes walk to the train station with excellent connections to larger towns, 2 minutes walk to the old town and to the market (weekends only), plenty of restaurant's to dine in and only a 20 minute walk to Villa San Crispolto. I cannot express enough how brilliant this hotel is and hopefully if I return I'll most definitely be staying here again. While here visit Marylebone cafe/ bar for friendly service while people watching, make the 17 minute train journey to Cortona for the day, take the boat to visit the 2 islands, have dinner in Ciao Ciao's for amazingly fresh local cuisine.
Review 13:Bathroom was small and dated although shower pressure was good and hot. Poor toiletries.
Review 14:Simple hotel with comfortable rooms. High point was lake view from room. Nice pool. Basic breakfast. Parking. Several really good restaurants nearby.
Review 15:Breakfast was quite poor. Nothing hot to eat but a coffee and croissant was adequate to keep us going. Few flies about :-(
Review 16:Central location in town, great view of lake and close to boat terminal.
Review 17:Nothing
Review 18:Nice breakfast, great location, lovely town by the lake. Got a free upgrade to lake view room. Free wifi & secure parking. Nice pool as well.
Review 19:The feel of the place. WiFi was spotty.
Review 20:The hotel had a mid-century worn look. Staff was so-so. The walking path along the lake was nice but short. The restaurant staff were very nice, food was average.
Review 21:Staff not entirely helpful all the time ( - but I've seen much worse.) Wi-fi temperamental. The restaurant on the lake - the reason for choosing the hotel - was closed except to accommodate a coach party. Check this out before you book!
Review 22:Location and views across lake are superb. The price reflects the basic standard of rooms but swimming pool next to lake is great. Restaurant looked good....
Review 23:Lakeside terrace area, where we would have liked to have sat, was closed. All decoration is tired and very dated. Could be amazing if refurbished and modern. Breakfast was ok. Lots of mosquitos! (Hotel could help by providing plug in devices)
Review 24:View from our balcony over the Lake was beautiful. Pool area lovely and quiet. Numerous restaurants around to try. Good position to visit other areas. Boat trip out to the islands in the Lake.
Review 25:No electrical plug adaptors available Reception didn't go out of their way to help. Breakfast wasnt that good
Review 26:Meal in attache was perfect, good value, and very good surroundings. This was our second visit, and would stay there again as an overnight stop or more
Review 27:Hotel is very dated, but location makes up for the1970 charm...lol. The restaurants on the strip are insanely overpriced and food is a 7 out 10 and the service is horrible. Il pescatore restaurant is great price, food and service!
Review 28:Location is in centre of town so all amenities are within walking distance,if you want a great lunch visit the rosticceria focolare by the train tracks 2 min walk and awesome prices.
Review 29:All was excellant for our stay we have nothing negative to say on our stay.
Review 30:Very centrally located, easy access to the train station and buses. Staff very helpful.
Review 31:Wifi was not working properly.
Review 32:Its location and view. It is close to some delightful eating places.
Review 33:The location was excellent
Review 34:Hotel semes old fashioned. Curtains and windows were filthy. Lot of mosquitoes. Restaurant bloks free lakeview.
Review 35:Location with lakeview.
Review 36:The breakfast wasn't great
Review 37:The staff were extremely friendly and courteous, great views of the lake, and it was spotlessly clean and quiet.
Review 38:No fresh fruit for breakfast. Wifi didn't work
Review 39:Location
Review 40:Lakeside hotel with great pool & views Fantastic breakfast Close to train station & bus stop outside hotel
Review 41:room with lake view swimming pool
Review 42:Location - next to the lake
Review 43:The view of the lake was perfect and the staff was friendly and helpful. We have no complaints and would recommend the Lido.
Review 44:Old fashion. Small rooms.
Review 45:Just over the lake!
Review 46:Good WiFi...Good location
Review 47:staff not very helpful or communicative breakfast area was untidy and not a lot of variety of food
Review 48:location was good and free parking a bonus
Review 49:Central location to ferry, rail station and town. Very useful and adequate parking alongside hotel.
Review 50:poor selection for breakfast
Review 51:Central Location within 5 mins of train station, beautiful views of the lake, friendly helpful staff
Review 52:very dated
Review 53:location by lake
Review 54:nothing
Review 55:The hotel is in an ideal location for Lake Trasimeno. From this location you can visit many interesting towns in Umbria and Tuscany.
Review 56:Breakfast - my worst experience ever. Staff do not clean tables and when you come at 9-30 it is difficult to find a table without dirty plates, etc. Need to keep in mind you will have to pay for pool towles and a cap.
Review 57:Location - just on the lake, nice views. Great pool, though quite cold. A few good local restaurants nearby
Review 58:Staff super friendly and went out of their way to help me after finding out there was a train strike locally ! Will be back if ever in the area again.
Review 59:Most uncomfortable beds we have ever slept in. Pillows were like cardboard. Location is central but we were not informed of a local week long festival that went until 1am every morning and you could hear everything in the hotel room.
Review 60:The lake doesn't attract to swim in, there are a lot of waterplants and we saw relatively lots of dead fien. There is a big pool though, which makes up for this a little.
Review 61:Kind start, clean hotel, good breakfast, Nice view over Lago Trasimeno from our little balcony.
Review 62:The rooms get really hot and the air conditioning they had couldn'tcope very well. They charge +30EUR/room to get a room with view tothe lake. The restaurant had booked the outside tables for a group thatoccupied less than half the space. Lake is nice but for the same amountof money I would have rather stayed in Castiglioni di Lago - it's anamazing place!
Review 63:The hotel was clean but very dated and other than its location had very little to recommend it. The beds were horribly uncomfortable, two fold up single beds pushed together as a double and the pillows so thin we needed three each to sleep. Breakfast was very basic with extremely limited choice. Tinned pears and tinned peaches, no fresh fruit and fruit juice that was so watered down in was undrinkable. The coffee was excellent though. Because breakfast was so poor we did not have a meal at the restaurant which appeared to be almost empty each evening. It would have been nice to have a light on the balcony and curtains rather than the industrial shutters. When I wanted some fresh air during the night the noise was very loud just to open the balcony door and as there were no curtains the shutters needed to be down to block the light from the car park below. When we stayed in early October there was a late heatwave with temperatures around 25 degrees but the pool was closed from mid September and the hot tub overlooking the lake was not in evidence anywhere. They did find a couple of sun loungers for us but our visions of watching the sunset from a hot tub overlooking the lake were sadly nothing like the reality. The pool area is actually accessed via the main road and as swimming hats are compulsory I can't imagine that it would offer much chance of romance even in the summer!. The location is stunning and with a few tweaks this hotel has so much potential but manages to miss the mark.
Review 64:The location on the lake. The staff were very pleasant and friendly.
Review 65:This hotel has not a lot of pretentions, but it's really okay for a couple of days. Situated on the lakeside and Passignano (nice village and with some really good restaurants!) is just 30 seconds away. Take a room with view on the lake. You pay some euro's more, but it's worth it. Although the balcony's are somewhat small. The swimming pool is fine as well. Friendly staff. Recommended!
Review 66:Some fresh fruit for breakfast would have been nice.
Review 67:Very friendly staff. Room always clean and tidy. Fresh towels as and when needed. Nice pool, relaxed atmosphere.
Review 68:Friendly & Serviceminded staff. Pool facilities and pool-bar prices. Parking. Lake view. City closeness. Bar terrasse with street view. AirCon in operation even when not in room.
Review 69:The Hotel was dirty. The first room we had allocated had not had the bedding cleaned. All surfaces were visibly dusty. There were cobwebs and dead flies round the windows and behind the radiator. Breakfast was a poor selection of poor standard food.
Review 70:Good location by the lake and near the centre of the town. Comfortable bed.
Review 71:The hotel is right on the lake. We had a balcony with view and it was spectacular. The restaurant, pool, breakfast was excellent. Service was so professional and helpful. Free parking. Great access to walking/biking trails. Quiet city where you just felt like relaxing. Lots to do at night with bands and late night dancing. Close to ferries. Overall excellent!
Review 72:Hotel staff will tidy your room despite the 'Do not disturb sign' beinghung outside the door.
Review 73:The view facing the lake was stunning. The hotel staff were helpful andinformative.
Review 74:Rooms were well appointed, great location on the lake within walking distance of many fine restaurants.
Review 75:Sketchy internet.
Review 76:Lakefront location and easy walking around the city.
Review 77:Hotel right on Lake Trasimeno.Swimming pool jacuzzi etc. Easy reach to local historical sites and towns
Review 78:Everything is old and smelly in this hotel. Breakfast is mostly contains of preserved food. We gad 100 euro per night, it is way too much overpriced.
Review 79:For a holiday experience breakfast finished too early.
Review 80:Good air conditioning in room.
Review 81:We were given a room with a lake view even though we had not paid for one. Beautiful location will definitely go back again.
Review 82:Wi-fi was a bit iffy
Review 83:Closeness to Lake and Town Centre
Review 84:limited services
Review 85:large comfortable quiet room
Review 86:air conditioner rattled, only dribble from shower
Review 87:wonderful view, friendly staff, good upgrade owing to season,
Review 88:Breakfast was very boring. Didn't change at all. However, this is only a small criticism
Review 89:Small pool
Review 90:The beds were a bit too hard...
Review 91:Great location and good service.
Review 92:Bit dated but functional
Review 93:Position on lake great would recommend getting a balcony with lake view
