Review 26：One of the door/security persons was very ignorant & spoke down to me & a few other guests. You had a sign on the front door advising that the door is closed from 10pm & to use the swipe card for entry after this time. Me & 3 other guests (international) came through at 9.00pm one night & were confused as to why the door wasn't opening. This door person was angry towards us as to why we weren't using our cards & I said because we read the sign on your door & it said 10pm. He said it's schoolies & we can do what ever we like. I said we were just following your sign & promptly told us that you didn't have to change/amend signs, and again that you could do what ever you like. I then shut up because he was quite aggressive about it.

Review 31：WE were told on Checking in that we had to pay an extra $100 deposit which would be refunded after 3 days if room was OK. I have never had to pay this on prior visits to this Hotel. I asked the Check in Clerk to lodge my official complaint. Why weren't we advised that the Extra $100 would be required when we booked. I have travelled extensively world wide & I've never been asked to pay this on check in anywhere. You should advise the management of my complaint & You as a booking agent should ensure anyone placing a Booking be advised at the time of Booking. I will not be staying there again as a matter of principle.

They were honestly so friendly, the security guards that worked the Wednesday and Thursday nights were very polite even though I did the wrong thing on the Wednesday night with guests because I was unaware of the time. He handled the situation very appropriately and for that I thank him. But the biggest thank you goes to one person in particular and that is Michael who was in the lobby and delivering bags. He was probably the nicest person I've met to date. I was blown away with just how nice he was to just talk to in the lifts and on top of that, helpful.

Review 41：The room was very basic and fairly small compared to the other places we have stayed at. The tv was horrible and very out dated. The shower was poor, water pressure kept changing from barely any water to full blast, the water wouldn't stay at the temperature and kept going freezing cold.

Very nice for the hotel to give me a bottle of sparkling wine. anc chocolates, but why prevent gifts from elsewhere? And NO glasses! Very disappointing as you can only be 60 once! Also the breakfast was delivered 30 mins early and was cold when I got to it! I am very unhappy

At 6am in the morningsomeone had come through the door then went straight back. This may havebeen the house cleaner but communication should be better for them toknow we were still there. We paid $15 for our car parking when checkingin around 7pm at night. We pd this when paying for room, but whenchecking out the next day we could not find the parking ticket we weregiven the night before. This should have been on record that it was paidbut the person at desk told us we had to find ticket otherwise payanother $10. So therefore we ended up paying $25 for our parking! :(

Review 91：When I arrived they checked me in a gave me my room number. I went up to the room and noticed that it was the standard room when I had booked and paid for the deluxe. There were chips smooshed into the carpet and the bathroom was filthy and old. I looked up the pictures of the room I booked and realised I had been put in the wrong room. I went down to reception and they informed me I had been placed in that room because there was a mix up and that they had nothing else. They didn't bother to tell me that when I got there and just hoped I didn't notice. They didn't offer me my money back or anything. They offered a bottle of champagne sent to the room which I accepted and when It came it was a $10.00 bottle. The 'duty manager' gave me the whole, 'im new here' story and said he would 'take care of me' if I ever chose to stay there again. I WILL NEVER.. The staff were extremely rude. When we were returning from going out I had already gone up to the room and my friend who was also staying and had a key tried to come up and the security didn't think they were allowed. She said she was and they then threatened to call the cops on her. Once i came down she was allowed up but during that time the security had told her to 'f**k off' and stuck the finger up at her. that is absolutely disgusting behaviour from anyone. The whole place is ridiculous. So many other places to stay for where you will have a much better stay.

Review 93：The lack of decent pillows to sleep on was bad for a hotel of this standing. Even more surprising was that there were no spares in the room of a decent size at all to use. We were on the 35 floor, great room, great ocean view as promised, but subjected to a low drone noise all night long which sounded like buzzing aircraft out in the floor's lift area. Very difficult to sleep. Being high up I suspect this was the air conditioning system or very loud lift motors perched on the roof.. Spoiled the whole stay really on reflection.. The $15 overnight car park charge seems to be a bit "over the top" for this location.

Review 94：The central location in Surfers Paradise was definitely a bonus. Access to points of interest, restaurants, retail shopping, and services off the property pretty damn good and hard to beat. Car parking facilities, whilst tight in some spots was generally easy to negotiate, and directly connected to the hotel.

The lady that helped us with booking told me to come and get ours keys then pointed to where it was at front desk and when I went to get I was told off by some indian looking bloke and we had to wait again. It was my wife's birthday and that wasn't a good start and pretty much killed her mood and made her wished we went somewhere else. Room was nice and brakfast was ok

Review 110：The bathroom is very small and crowded. The decor is a bit dated. The aircon did not work and too much street noise to leave balcony door open. Worst of all was the $20 parking fee (not $15 as stated on booking.com). We were not told of this fee upon checkin.

Also when you buy a movie, watch it in full as when you turn off TV the movie is removed and you need to repurchase.... you aren't told that. Wasted $18.95 on watching 15 minutes of movie before accidentally hitting the off button for TV with thigh. Also, hard to get to Hotel with one way streets for tram stuffing up GPS directions. Powerpoint in bathroom was coming off the wall when removed straightener from plug. Facilities need an upgrade.
