Reviews for Tenuta Sant'Ilario
Review 1:Room service was a bit hit or miss, one day they didn't replace shower gel, the following day didn't give us a new toilet paper roll, but thank God in Italy they have bidets!
Review 2:Location was fantastic, in the middle of the countryside, next door to a very nice restaurant run by the same people.
Review 3:The property is hard to find - but worth the hunt.
Review 4:The B and B is great and the restaurant was too. The hostess was very helpful. She came and found us and took us to the property. Then drove us in to town the next day. She was very friendly. Their own wine is good also.
Review 5:Would be great if they had just a few things to buy in the reception, like some soft drinks, water ice-cream, and snacks because it is quite far to the nearest shops/cafes (not walking distance)
Review 6:Absolutely beautiful place! Nice pool, lovely views, great breakfast and the rooms are large and tastefully decorated! It is a very peaceful place with the typical Tuscan scenery!
Review 7:Wifi was only available near reception making it almost impossible to communicate with family and plan travel days ahead, walking to reception was ok the first few times but after a while it got annoying. It was also hard to find the accommodation and there was no mention of the long dirt road to get to reception. The bushes outside our room could have been cut back to make use of the view and the grass for the entire time we were there wasnt mowed so the rotting apples etc started to smell. On of the cats kept leaving dead lizards on our door step and went to the bathroom on my jeans when I put the washing out one morning.
Review 8:Rooms nice and big, friendly staff, relaxing location
Review 9:Farm track full of potholes, thank goodness we had a hire car. Problem after dark. Swimming pool too isolated for single women. No staff present on site for much of the day. Telephone not answered when we had a problem. My wife did not feel comfortable to be left on her own.
Review 10:Very nice apartment and breakfast
Review 11:Nothing
Review 12:We loved the facilities and the spotless rooms. The staff was very friendly and helpfull with all our questions. We especially enjoyed the breakfast and the fantastic view (while eating it). The road to the location was - much to the contrary of other reviews - very doable with a sports car (you just have to take the high road in and not the one that's recommend by google maps).
Review 13:wonderful service and a very kindly atmosphere. The restaurant was very good, and the breakfast excelent
Review 14:Staff is extremly helpfull and bring smile all the time. Excellent breakfast, beautifull peacefull place for rest.
Review 15:restaurant for dinner is 10 km only car
Review 16:top perfect, room, atmosfere, swimingpool, all very nice, real tuscany.
Review 17:The bed was a bit like a water bed... If my husbend moved during the night it woke me up... How ever this is a matter of personal comfort. I am sure any other person whould have loved the bed's comfort.
Review 18:The place is wonderful! Franka and her staff are the most lovely, friendly and nice people i have ever met in the industry of truism. (And i work in it). The B&B is romantic and cosy. I loved the decor and the view. One of the great things about the place is that it can not be found to easily! it's distant from any, road, city, village... simply isolated. hens the quietness and relaxation is granted! The breakfast was delicious. and we also bought 2 bottles of there own wine- which is great.
Review 19:The drive from the main road was a little difficult as it rained quite a bit while we were there, however, that would NOT stop us from returning to this lovely place!!!!
Review 20:Everything!!! The room was amazing!!! The staff was wonderfully friendly and so very helpful....they gave us great travel info. The breakfast was out if this world, there was something different to enjoy every morning!!! The room was so beautiful and cozy!! VERY romantic, exactly what we wanted on our weekend get-a-way!!
Review 21:The apartments are set in a beautiful location. After travelling for over 5 weeks through the UK, France and Italy, this was the perfect location to have a true Tuscan experience. The apartments are very clean and have all the comforts including clothes washing facilities. We read negative comments about the difficulties with driving down a 1.5km dirt road but this was somewhat exaggerated, although it was a dirt road, it was not an issue for our little Peugeot. The best thing about having to travel down a 1.5km dirt raod was we could feel very remote which is the experience we wanted in Tuscany. The owners and staff are so friendly and helpful and could communicate with us who speak English very easily.
Review 22:Nothing at all.
Review 23:Very comfortable and stylish. Beautiful surroundings, real Tuscan. Some say the country road that leads to the estate is hard to ride. And so what? This isolated location makes it even more charming and you don't need an SUV to get through the road. Anyhow, it is in the heart of Tuscany which helps to access any part of the region so easy (SanGiminano, Volterra,Florence, Siena, Montepulciano, Pisa, Viareggio). Go there, you won't be disappointed!
Review 24:The following are very minor things that aren't diminishing the positive experience but are nice to know: - Your car should be fine with a farm track (like a SUV). - You do not have WLAN in all rooms, however you can sit in the beautiful garden if you need Internet. - The black coffee for breakfast was instant coffee (I assume because we got a whole carafe instead of only two cups), however we were fine with it. Alternatively we could have gotten cappuccino etc.
Review 25:We enjoyed our stay very much and strongly recommend the place. It is a perfect place to just relax at the pool or sitting in the garden/yard, to start for hikes, or to go to nearby cities like Florence or Siena for a day (by train or by car). The best parts at that place were: - Excellent, friendly, and helpful staff - Beautiful middle-age building (renovated with all modern comfort) - Location at the countryside with beautiful views - Nice pool - Fridge accessible
Review 26:It is hard to get to the B&B due to the path is not in good condition. When we arrived nobody was at the reception desk and we had to wait there about half an hour.
Review 27:Very quiet location with great views. Rooms are large and clean. Breakfast is also generous.
Review 28:Everything was great
Review 29:Not knowing the drive was unfriendly to sports cars. Would not take this car again if staying.
Review 30:Setting, layout, staff, very well presented.
Review 31:Coffee at breakfast, bread not very fresh.
Review 32:Swimming pool, spacious, quite, rural environment, views, Very good restaurant at the main road (1.5 km).
