Reviews for Ise Guest House Kazami

Review 1:Our private room had a traffic light right outside. It wasn't much of an issue but if you're a light sleeper sensitive to that, it may be a problem.

Review 2:The guest space and kitchen were great. Very cozy feeling place.

Review 3:Perhaps the cooker could have been cleaner

Review 4:The hostel has a very distinctive decor and a very friendly atmosphere, the owner encourages everyone to interact. Very clean with lovely, spacious common areas. Top sheets are available if you want one. Delicious freshly baked bread is available for 100¥

Review 5:Quite noisy if you open the window to sleep. Cars are passing by.

Review 6:Good location, just few minutes walk from Isa train station. Staff is friendly and helpful.

Review 7:The staff was extremely friendly, the beds are big enough but a little bit hard; yet it doesn't make any difficulty to sleep. Hello to Nico from here :D

Review 8:The sink, toilet, & bathroom are quite old but clean but not Japanese clean. Shower on the 4th floor is weak at times.

Review 9:Very close to Ise-shi station. A short walk to Ujiyamada station & Gekou. Super friendly staff. Cozy & comfy common leisure area.

Review 10:I wish the staff had showed me the lockers in the dorm room!

Review 11:I really liked this place. It's so artistic it made me feel artistic even though I can barely hold a pencil. The staff are friendly, kitchen is lovely, bedroom is comfortable. They have a small 'party' every weekend.

Review 12:Despite the fact that the aircon was on full blast in the dorm room, not much got into the sleeping cabins, making it a bit warm, but that is a summer problem. There was a fan inside to allevitate the problem.

Review 13:The staff was very friendly and made big efforts to make the guest house more social by inviting everyone to the common room in he evenings. There is free green tea. And it is extremely close to the geku shrine.

Review 14:Sink was on corridor, fully exposed.

Review 15:Awesome location near Ise Shrine Geku and Ise station. Spacious female dorm with a large storage was great. Rental bike was cheap. Friendly staff and good social area.

Review 16:Very nice and artfully decorated Guesthouse. I felt very comfortable. The common room is a nice place to meet and spend time with other guests and the staff are very friendly. Location is great too. Definitly a place I'd stay again!

Review 17:Sometimes showers and toilets can be occupied for a very long time, a bit shabby, bot within acceptable limits for a hostel of course.

Review 18:Great staff, lots of unique folk, artsy magical atmosphere, nice location.

Review 19:Great atmosphere, creative interior design, clean rooms, nice people. Maybe because it's close to a spiritual power spot like Ise? :) Convenient location and quiet at night.

Review 20:There should be 2 sheets instead of just 1 at the beds

Review 21:Great service Capsule like beds Live music Nice atmosphere Beautiful interiors Excellent location

Review 22:in the toilet seat there was some horrible material covering it, which I doubt make it easy to clean. I think it should have been removed for hygienic reasons

Review 23:staff was very nice, there was a common room where you were able to socialise with different people. atmosphere was very friendly

Review 24:Very friendly, English speaking staff, who were also helpful. Great location, close to train station. Groovy building and decor with a rustic, hippie vibe. Great value, large rooms, great library.

Review 25:Sorry I have to say I was bitten by the bedbugs. The dorm is very dark, poor lamp and windows always closed, I thought that is why so many bedbugs in the dorm.

Review 26:caution! BEDBUG in room

Review 27:Pillows seemed like they were full of beans. Not terrible by any means but not the most comfortable place to rest your head.

Review 28:Very friendly staff, they treat you like family the minute you walk in. You have to rent towels as with most places, but you can change your bedding every night! Eccentric but clean and charming atmosphere.

Review 29:nope.

Review 30:Location is quite good, and price is reasonable. Staffs are very nice and friendly. They gave me many suggestions about my trip of Mie. I like the interior design of the hostel also!

Review 31:Facilities especially the kitchen is so so. 100 yen bread is not appetizing.

Review 32:Staff are friendly and willing to help out on where to go and what to do. For those who travel solo or couples who like the feel of adventure and budget, this place is the best that can offer

Review 33:It's a bit far from the Inner Shrine, but close to the station so for me that was more important than being close to the Inner Shrine.

Review 34:I really enjoyed my stay at Guest House Kazami. The location is great, very close to the outer shrine. The staff were lovely and there was a great atmosphere at night, guests mingling and relaxing in the common area.

Review 35:Mattress too thin n dirty.. after sleeping, my forehead full of pimples.. Please note, thou it say there is aircon, the staff is very willing to turn on.. he only on it for 2hrs n return to off it again n the staffs r holding the aircon controller .. the room is so stuffy to sleep.. in fact, I hardly sleep.. whole nite hot stuffy n keep smelling the a mould y pillow..

Review 36:Location.. the staffs r trying to be friendly

Review 37:Normally I don't do guest houses like that, but it seemed to be the only option for that time in Ise and I had a nice staying. Exotically decorated house close to the train station, one of both shrines and public transportation. Nice helpful people on reception, feels like home. There is a kitchen with free tea/coffee and chances to buy bread etc ... All is very affordable

Review 38:The facilities could use some upkeep. The wifi was so so. The couches were old and itchy (we wondred to ourselves if they might have fleas). Another bad point is that there are only two decent showers for the whole place (which were very nice and clean). The upstairs shower, on the other hand, is full of mold.

Review 39:The staff were very friendly and helpful! The hostel itself is unique and has vey pretty wall paintings.

Review 40:The pace made mostly from wood. Any footsteps can be heard.

Review 41:At night the place host many travelers and have great atmosphere. The staff is helpfull and very friendly.

Review 42:There's no main lock for the female dorm. No warm water at the wash basin, which is much needed in the cold climate.

Review 43:5 mins walk from JR Station. One of the value for money lodging Ise. Love the creative design thru' out the hostel. Staff speaks simple English. Big lockers provided inside the dorm, which is sufficient to lock away all your belongings.

Review 44:Mouldy shower. Limited seating and not enough light in common space. Overpriced clunky bicycle.

Review 45:Very convenient location. Bed ok with good sheets and blankets. Friendly staff.

Review 46:I didn`t find nothing to criticize in the slightest.

Review 47:Everything !!! It`s a lovely place, very clean and comfy, excellent quality of sleep as bed very nice and it is quiet and cozy. Kitchen is great. There is a free pc. Location is great. Staff truly adorable. I warmly recommend this hostel and will definitely go back there for a longer stay as the region is beautiful.

Review 48:Beware steep staircase going up to your rooms, especially people withleg mobility pain, shower room on ground n 3rd floor only

Review 49:I like the artistic drawings on walls, unique forest rug tree-like atcommon hall, well equipped kitchen, close to train stn, easy access tojengu just few mins walk, take bus 51, 50 from train stn to Naiku 420yenabout 20min by bus or you can use a bike rent from hostel 500yen per day

Review 50:Only two showers for the whole building, so get up early. You should understand that this is more of a backpacker hostel than anything else. As such it is absolutely fine. I use hostels regularly, so no problem for me, but it still was not quite what I was expecting.

Review 51:Extremely helpful and friendly staff (who spoke good enough English to actually help), great location

Review 52:There are only two showers, not enough for the amount of people using them, so you'll easily have to wait.

Review 53:Friendly English-speaking staff. Really close to the station and to the city-center. Very nice vibe. Big living room for chatting and relaxing. Lots of travellers to meet. Good kitchen. Amazing sunset view from the rooftop

Review 54:Easy to find 250m from jr station. The staf help you to find the place you want to se. The living room is a super place to meat other guest in the house.

Review 55:The room had 2 windows but only one of them had curtains so 5 am was really bright inside our room.

Review 56:The staff is really nice and speak very good english. The place looks like an old japanese house so the beds are futons over tatami which is quite cool. At the front desk there are a bunch of books you can read and even a very old nintendo video game which was great fun to play with! The place is also fairly close to Iseshi station, maybe 10 mins walk, and also close to Gekku Shrine.

Review 99:Quite a old building & dark

Review 100:Good staff attitude

Review 101:Typical backpackers' problem: sleep quality largely dependent on roommates

Review 102:Near stations Near the Outer Ise Shrine Friendly staff Nice ambience

Review 103:I only stayed a day but I really enjoyed my time here. A great location, friendly staff and excellent facilities.

Review 104:Too expensive for what you get.

Review 105:The place was very nice and alternative, the staff very friendly and helpful.

Review 106:So nice place!

Review 107:Dark rooms.

Review 108:Good lobby with bar where you can meet fellow travelers.

Review 109:The walls are paper-thin; after all, Guest House Kazami is a traditional Japanese house. Guests are requested to keep quiet in the evening; unfortunately, a group of Chinese tourists did not respect this when we stayed. I wish someone running the guest house had enforced their own rules... In any case, bring earplugs.

Review 110:The location is great. The guest house is full of character, which is not always the case in Japan. The staff was very friendly.

Review 111:Guest house it self is all right, but Ise is a small place with not much to do. So you should definitely aim for the shrine area and Naikuu or take a hike in the mountains.

Review 112:[Location and area] The guest house is very accessible from the station. Ise is also known for its grand two attractions. One is walking distance and for Naikuu you can walk (hour) or take the bus (15min). [Impression] From the outside the guest house might look odd, but inside is artistic, beautiful and giving off that typical guest house mood feeling. Staff knows English and take their time to explain / guide around the house. I was quite amused that each new visitor is introduced to the people sitting in the lobby, which quickly creates a social link instead of wondering who that person might be. There are showers and toilets available for shared use which are, I must say, very very clean. Even if the guest house gives you the authentic lodging feel, you will be granted an automatic butt washing toilet (I just love these). [Rooms] The dormitory room I stayed in were spacious. Plenty of space to leave your stuff. The beds are simple bit solid. You have a power outlet and reading light for yourself. Also for privacy, you have a small curtain at your bed which you can pull. (Never seen this in other guest houses I went). I slept comfortable enough. There are also Japanese style rooms available if you're interested. [Facilities] The kitchen provides you everything you need for cooking and the lounging area is offering low tables sitting in Japanese style. There are mirrors and sinks at each floor to wash your face, brush teeth, shave off that manly beard or do your hair. [Conclusion] The owner of the guest house and his staff are doing an excellent job to run this place. During my stay, we had suddenly a group of 7 people enjoying Sake, food and laughing at jokes/stories. Best guest house or social place you can find in Ise in my opinion.

Review 113:Extremely wonderful experience! Very helpful and nice staff, unique and stylish hostel, comfortable and tidy room, convenient location (just a 5 min's walk from the Ise Shi JR/Kintetsu station). Besides, the hostel held cultural activities in the hostel for free. These activities, on one hand, allows tourists to embrace Japanese culture and on the other hand, helps supporting the artists' living (Visitors can pay whatever amount they want to the artist if they like their performance). I highly appreciate their great contribution to the community.

Review 114:noisy early in the morning, don't expect to sleep until late... customers respect to keep silence at night, but early morning they wake up everyone really....

Review 115:friendly staff, cheap, clean, near the station of Ise

Review 116:What a great place.... Lovely staff, lovely voyagers, lovely ISE Beer ! Thank you for this great experience of Humanity and for the conversation ! See you next time in Japan.
