Reviews for 14 Leoni
Review 1:Very small room and shwer.
Review 2:The owner lady was very frindly and nice, absolutely wonderful, but do not speak English well. The view from our window was gorgeous, to the see.
Review 3:This family run B&B is superbly located right on the beach in the heart of Salerno. The wharf is within 10 minute walk to catch passenger boats to Amalfi Coast, Positano, Isle of Capri etc. 14 Leoni is such located that evening walks along the promenade, restaurants and shopping outlets were very enjoyable.
Review 4:Wifi was very limited and the bathrooms in the rooms are very pokey.
Review 5:Close to train station, harbour and beach. Great air con. Marco was very friendly and helpful. He even assisted us with our washing.
Review 6:Wifi is limited to the reception area, a wifi extender will help this. Though there is free parking, it does get busy, so plan accordingly. Breakfast was adequate, croissants and fruits. It is also a little difficult to find, so ask for directions prior to arrival.
Review 7:We were in a refurbished room which was lovely, with a terrace overlooking the beach which is a 30second walk. The city centre is a 10 minute walk. Marco speaks excellent English and is very proud of this little haven, it is nice.
Review 8:No problems everything was perfect.
Review 9:The guesthouse is in a fantastic location, right on the beach. The room myself and my boyfriend stayed in was absolutely spotless and clean towels and linen were provided. Marco, the host was a charmer and provided us with a lovely complimentary breakfast before we departed. I would highly recommend.
Review 10:The owner was often busy and even sometimes unbothered when we asked for directions. The beach was FILTHY and consisted with rocks rather than sand. The location was not very suitable for entertainment or good restaurants. The WiFi was limited to the patio, the rooms were on the small side with an extremely tiny bathroom. The ferry port to Capri Island was a 45 minutes walk. The breakfast was nothing great, 1 regular croissant with juice.
Review 11:Compliments to Suraji as he was very kind: he offered us aloe vera for sunburn protection, the patio was wonderfully designed with beautiful plants and comfortable couches, breakfast on the rooftop was a sweet delight. The train station was a 5 minutes walk. The ferry port to Positano was a pleasant 15 minutes walk.
Review 12:* The suite is rather small for 3 persons, - ok for a couple of days though. * Missed some basic things in the room, such as glasses, generel information about breakfast hours, information about possibility to buy refreshments etc. etc.
Review 13:* Direct beach access. * Awesome terrace. * Well working air con. * Great bathroom. * Nice staff. * Very comfortable beds.
Review 14:It was amazing. I can't say anything badly.
Review 15:My window was in front to the sea, I could take the breakfast to my gilfriend into the bed all 5 days that I was there. The staff were just amazing, they were hAppy in help us giving to us all the support that we need for. I just love them.
Review 16:Nothing, we were just sad we had to leave...
Review 17:Lovely location, very nice staff. Small piece of paradise right on the beach, a room with an amazing view and falling asleep with the sound of the waves. Thank you Marco and staff/family for the wonderful time!
Review 20:Wifi isn't available upstairs and there were no tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms - but there was a cute little bar/cafe area downstairs where the staff were happy to make us a cuppa. :)
Review 21:Stayed here with my boyfriend and we loved this place! It is set right on the sea front, close to the train station, with the rooms set around a lovely little courtyard. The staff were friendly and we could hear the waves as we slept - perfect! Really great value for money; we would love to stay here again.
Review 22:I did not like being accused of taking the key out with me - I gave it to the man who looks after the place but he insisted I had not done so and I had to search all my bags. When the key was finally found in reception he did not even bother to apologise
Review 23:The shower was hot
Review 24:friendly and helpful staff and a great breakfast. even though there were ongoing renovations, staff did their utmost to please us. Close to the train station and an absolute awesome location!
Review 25:I visited in mid March so the weather is just starting to warm up. Just ask for extra blankets if you are cold during the night time.
Review 26:14 Leoni B&B enjoys ideal beachfront location with views out to the ocean and waking up to the sound of the waves - absolutely wonderful! My room led directly to a large terrace, where on sunny days you can enjoy breakfast while soaking up the rays. Although next to a road the traffic does not it's interrupt serenity, and B&B maintains privacy/security, benefitting from on site parking directly below. Marco, his family and team share genuine Italian warmth, kindness and hospitality - nothing is too much trouble. You are free to relax in the shared lounge area with Romeo the resident friendly cat :-) Truely a labour of love, Marco is completing two new ocean facing suites with private terrace, inc luxury finishes e.g. walk in wet room. Breakfast is fresh croissant and coffee of your choice. A truely wonderful experience I can't recommend Marco and family enough for solo, couples, or family stays, with the beach on your door step it's a hop, skip and jump to take a sunset dip, ideal on hot summer days. See you again Marco!
Review 27:Wifi only works in downstairs patio.
Review 28:A gem of a B&b my room was just 10 metres from the beach with the sounds of the waves ensuring a beautiful sleep. Mario was the perfect host making me a coffee every morning. Rooms clean and spacious and plenty of hot water. Walking distance to the central train and bus station. Would highly recommence this small friendlyfamily run hotel
Review 29:The room was NOT clean - there was human hair across the bedspread and inside the pillowcases. The shower was moldy and in need of a heavy scrub. The sink/tap was filthy, and there was a cup filled with dirty water left on the sink. The rooms are very dated (from the '80s, although the owner did let us know this prior to seeing the rooms, although). Also, the mother was not friendly, in fact quite abrupt and rude. We also found it slightly odd that we were at first asked to leave our passports at the desk by the son, then when we looked dismayed (not comfortable with leaving documents), he changed that to making copies of them.
Review 30:The location was beautiful, right on the water overlooking the Gulf of Salerno, and the entrance hall/dining area were lovely - like a Mediterranean courtyard. Family owned - the son was very friendly and helpful, and recommended a fantastic restaurant nearby.
Review 31:Breakfast is very Italian ;) i.e. very sweet!
Review 32:If you like places to be a bit funky, this should be your choice. It's old and at places a bit run down, but that adds to it's charm. And of course the location is superb! Right at the seaside, with the road and the big hotels behind it. We had two double bed rooms with a great terrace and a more basic room at the back. The double rooms at the seaside were definitely better. Two rooms with a shared bathroom. Staff is very nice and when it was difficult to get a dinner nearby, helped us to get delicious pizzas delivered.
Review 33:Nothing, anything not as convenient as expected is far exceeded by its charm and location,
Review 34:The hotel is small about 20 rooms, the staff is great, easy to communicate with even though not all speak English. It is the only hotel on the beach, walking distance to everything.
Review 35:Room was a little small. With us and our bags in there it was a little awkward moving around
Review 36:Marco was a fantastic host. Very welcoming and eager to chat with us about what to see and do in the city and making suggestions for restaurants. The hotel is just a short walk from the city centre. The room we had was a bit small but it was clean and had a great view towards the sea. Typical Italian breakfast in the morning.
Review 37:Sleeping with the sound of waves lapping. Very good at telling places to go in the local area. TIP catch the ferry to and from Positano, do not trust public bus system or you will be stranded for hours as it is so inadequate for the number of people using it. 14Leoni a gem...
Review 38:The beach was OK but there were rocks under the water which made is difficult wading in.
Review 39:I stayed there with my sister . We had a great view of the beach from our window. The staff were very helpful. We could walk to the port to take the ferry down the Amalfi coast and walk to the train station, too.
Review 40:Tiny bathroom. No wifi in the room but available on the patio areas.
Review 41:Really nice family run business. Marco spoke great English. His lovely Italian mother spoke no English but was so wonderful to us. Great location on the beach.
Review 42:Our shower didn't have a curtain which led to the bathroom being soaked every-time we showered. The place could use some basic maintenance, but the great staff make up for it!
Review 43:The staff were amazing! On our last night we asked for a suggestion for dinner and they insisted on cooking for us instead! Its close to both the train station and dock. The room has air conditioning!
Review 44:The beach
Review 45:Leoni hotel is located near Salernos trainstation, a little bit walk along the sea. Great stuff speaking English and Swedish, very helpful and kind!!!
Review 46:vista panoramica stupenda!
Review 47:Room was dirty and pictures on here do not replicate venue. An average B&B at best
Review 48:Friendly owner, speaks good English and always happy to help.
Review 49:Renovations were currently taking place
Review 50:Great hosts. Right on water in Solerno.
Review 51:Marco and staff were lovely, very hospitable. Excellent location.
Review 52:The shower didn't drain to well
Review 53:Close to the ferry and train station and right on the beach about 25 steps.
Review 54:It's uniqueness, beautiful view from the terraces, close to everything, nice atmosphere
Review 55:The beach is filthy! Rocks and a carpet of cigarette butts. The roomwasn't clean either. The bathroom needs a nice scrub.
Review 56:Leaving Salerno
Review 57:Great place right on the beach! Location couldn't be better. I was able to lay on the beach then walk right into town when I wanted.
Review 58:Everything was as stated in the description. We were traveling by car, so having a parking space was a huge plus.
Review 59:Great location, handy to restaurants, shops and train. Friendly service. Saraji was very helpful. Lovely to sit on the terrace.
Review 60:Great location
Review 61:Beautiful location and nice people!
Review 62:Great Location, very friendly people, directly on the beach, free parking, great breakfast, room was nice
Review 63:Wi-fi just in the lobby and did not work very well.
Review 64:The Staff is very kind and always ready to help.
Review 65:Warm friendly staff, great location on the beach of Salerno, close to railway station, breakfast included, reasonably priced.
Review 66:Very friendly owners, you can feel like a family member. Location just on the beach
Review 67:Dint like the breakfast so much.
Review 68:Beach side hotel at a great price!
Review 69:Loved Marco and Francesca, very helpful and friendly.
Review 70:The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location is directly on the beach. Spacious rooms. The bathroom was a little small but clean.
Review 71:Room was small. Needed a carpenter to fix a few fixtures and fittings in the room. Shower leaked on bathroom floor. In peak season I believe this would be a very noisy place to stay.
Review 72:Staff friendly but spoke little English. Right on the beach. Close to Salerno shops. We stayed just prior to peak season and this hotel was quiet.
Review 73:The location is great, everything is very close: the shops, the railway station, the harbour, the sea, etc. There is a a choice of rooms and the terrace is nice to spend the evening. The hosts are very nice people, very helpful. The accomodation is worth the price.
Review 74:The shower is too small ... but the water's hot so what more can you ask for!
Review 75:The location, the family, the Italian/Mediterranean atmosphere, the comfort, the home, the whole experience
Review 76:Typical pure Italian breakfast – croissant with coffee and juice. In case you want to visit Positano and/or Amalfi you have to leave the hotel before 8:00 in the morning so NO BREAKFAST for you – sorry! The humidity in the room was very high. No towel at all for 3 night visit! It was good that we have our own with us. Bath room (1.20m – 1.20m) was very dirty and smell awful. Furniture inside the room was from previous century and the cleanest of the room was totally inadequate for the money we paid. All the socked inside the room were damaged and unplugged from the wall. During the night we were scared to not have an electricity shock when we go to the toilet. Location is very noisy. No WiFi in the room.
Review 77:Free parking and sea view.
Review 78:There is nothing bad about 14 Leoni unless you expect room service and a 5 star restaurant.
Review 79:Marco and his wife Francesca are wonderful. They cannot do enough for you so you can enjoy your stay. Super clean rooms. Breakfast is very nice and personal on their vine laced veranda. The B&B is right on the water so if you open the window you can hear the surf. The beach is no more than 75' from your window so you can walk around the B&B and be on the beach. Excellent location, Walk to many restaurants and shops, no taxi needed. Sit out on the terrace at night, enjoy the surf and look at the stars ! We have stayed here twice and love it !
Review 80:For us breakfast was poor - a cup of coffee and croissant. But this is an Italian style of breakfast.
Review 81:Excellent staff! They are very friendly and communicative. We went to the hotel too late on the first day and they suggested some food and drinks, because we were very hungry. In addition, they permit us for the late checkout. Location is good, near to the Salerno train station, in from of the seaside. In summer it should be one of the best places!!! Very beautiful garden inside, with outdoor chairs and tables, as well as balcony with the sea view. Recommend!!!
Review 82:Bathroom is too small, during shower cannot even turn around. When we came in we found a cockroach.
Review 83:The location is good, just on the beach, face the sea. The personnel is nice, restaurant he recommended is delicious .
Review 84:As often in Italy, it is down to gestures as owners only speak Italian. Hard to find at night.
Review 85:Very good rate for location right on the sea shore, parking.
Review 86:Damp smell Damp bedding, sheets and clothes wet by morning Bathroom unusable, too small, shower curtain 30cm too short. Water wery slow to heat up. Urine smell outside. Breakfast totally inadequate, long life juice, yoghurt and long life bread. extremely noisy, thin walls, No basic safety/ fire protection in place. This hotel should not be operating. A liability to Booking.com
Review 87:The view
Review 88:The shower wasn't enclosed, so only one person could use the bathroom at a time.
Review 89:I loved the location, the view of the beach was spectacular! It was very easy to get to from the train station, even with our ( rolling)bags. The trees and plants around the property gave it charm and the staff was incredible friendly, even though I spoke little Italian.
Review 90:Could do with a bit of up date in the rooms.
Review 91:Location was the best .& the service by Marco & his mum was excellent. And it was very good price.
Review 92:Shower head was broken. Ants in room. It is more like a hostel was disappointed: rewiews did not reflect our experience.
Review 93:To be able to pay to use the facilities in the premises next door.
Review 94:The location was close to the station, port and city centre. The hosts were wonderful, friendly and happy to help with ideas for our time in Salerno. Parking was available.
Review 95:Very poor and quite dirty.
Review 96:The B+B was right at the beach and had a shower in the garden. It is close to the town center of Salerno and situated right next to a Lido with Pool.
Review 97:Bathroom is tiny & would be uncomfortable if staying for more than a day or two.
Review 98:Convenient location to buses & train station. Loved being right on the beach front. Delightful ambience & lovely staff who were very friendly & helpful.
Review 99:There is a noisy disco club next door that tends to play music until late at night.
Review 100:This is a small family run hotel right on the beach. Marco and his mother make you feel at home and provide excellent service. There are spectacular views of the sea and mountains. You can walk to everything in Salerno.
Review 101:The bathroom got a bit wet when showering Room wasn't huge, after our luggage was inside The laundry fee was higher than we have encountered
Review 102:It was literally on the beach! The owner, although she didn't speak English she tried her best to help us and even offered to cook for us dinner when all the stores were closed one night!!
Review 103:It was really difficult to find it, in spite of the fact, that the appartment is situated just near the marina-road (we four times drived away and even did not imagine about it!) And the second - trash on the beach. However, that is the same situation in the south of Italy.
Review 104:We were looking for a quite, clean, 1-bedroom appartment, not far from centre to spend there some nights (cause were walking during days) and light breakfasts. So we have found all of that in this appartment. Plus friendly staff (family), sea view and a parking place (that is important in Italy!).
Review 105:The 14 Leoni was a super find! Location right on the beachfront is perfect and for those who prefer a swimming pool, there is a Lido right next door. The atmosphere of the B& B is homely and perfect for families or anyone who appreciates a good rapport "quality-price". The establishment is familty-run and the hostess/owner, Giovanna was super, while her son, Marco, went out of his way to prepare us salads in the middle of the afternoon! For anyone arriving by train, it is only a 5 minute walk away, while the rest of Salerno is easily accessible on foot. We had a wonderful stay and hope to return!
Review 106:Limited restaurants in the immediate area. Wc very small. Will beupdating rooms in the future which will definitely improve the facility.
Review 107:Very friendly, helpful staff. Beach right outside the door. Outside baron premises. Beautiful views. Short walk to transportation to go tocapri and pompei. Breakfast on the outdoor patio was nice. Outsidefacilities were beautiful and welcoming.
Review 108:Marco was a terrific host. Location is really nice, you can walk to the historical section quite easily. Very funky hotel that we would certainly re-book.
Review 109:Lack of hot water and the smell were only some of the limitations
Review 110:very poor example of a B&B. Badly maintained poorly serviced. Staff were friendly but had no idea of how to appeal to international travellers.
Review 111:Not easy to find
Review 112:Clean and neat. Happy pleasant staff who went out of their way to help.Parking available. Good value for money. Only 2 km walk to city centrebut quiet and right on the beach.
Review 113:small rooms, sketchy shower
Review 114:nice friendly staff, good sea front location. low price
Review 115:The staff is super friendly and the localization is very good. The cost-benefit relation is great.
Review 116:not much i didnt like really
Review 117:staff is very friendly and helpful - exterior /open space inside hotel is very nice. good parking and location.
Review 118:No internet connection in room.
Review 119:Ocean viewing!
Review 120:little bathroom
Review 121:excellent hotel
Review 122:Very close to the beach.
Review 123:The staff was great!!!
Review 124:The breakfast was only 1 croissant and coffee.
Review 125:Very friendly staff!! Good location!! Only 5 min to the city centre and 30 sec to the beach!
