Reviews for Summit Parkview Yangon

Review 1:The hotel is under reconstruction, pool and terrace are closed until 2017. One evening the hotel bar was used for furniture clearing beside guests. In the morning they started demolition work direct beside breakfast room with great noise. We got an upgrade with view to the Shwedagon Pagoda.

Review 2:The location is great and the barmen are really friendy

Review 3:Lack of double glaze on Windows means that if your room faces the nightclub, you will get some (but not much) noise.

Review 4:Very good hotel, amazing staff and good international restaurant

Review 5:Looking forward to the pool, however when booked it was not noticeable, upgrade work been carried out and pool not available.

Review 6:Easy to travel around Yangon and shopping.

Review 7:The hotel is undertaking large expansion construction in early stage. Swimming pool is out of service until 2017 - that was disappointing news on arrival.

Review 8:comfortable hotel with pleasant staff. Food - breakfast buffet and lunch was very good fresh food and service. Room with view and wifi service were 4 star.

Review 9:Was glad I didn't pick the pool view as they were charging extra but the pool is closed for the next year and a half for renovations.

Review 10:I loved the friendly desk staff. Very helpful.

Review 11:Difficulty of airport transfers, hotel cars. Taxis in Myanmar are very small and not all with AC.

Review 12:The location is perfect, you can combine your work and take time to visit Myanmar Pagoda that is so near. You must book room with landmark view.

Review 13:The hotel is getting old and in need of a renovation. The windows should be changed to block the noise from the street.

Review 14:I enjoyed the location and views. The staff was excellent and very attentionate.

Review 15:room furniture has seen better days would be nice to have matresses for the wooden beachchairs and pool towels

Review 16:Excellent location close to Shwedagon Pagoda, good for the early moring sightseeing :-) Excellent Pool and Terrace aerea

Review 17:No bad experience, but the hotel does not accept American Express card which is accepted by Booking.com, so that's a contradiction. I had to go withdraw cash, which was not easy in Myanmar and then settle my bill.

Review 18:I liked best the warmth and the attentiveness of the staff. I wanted to taste their Khow Suey which is the most popular Burmese dish in India. Nobody knew what it was, but their chef found out and made it for me. I was very touched and would like to thank him again.

Review 19:Location is not that good: surounding constructions ongoing. Noisy work in the hotel during the day

Review 20:Staff very helpful, nice hotel, nice swimingpool. Very good global impression

Review 21:had wifi login difficulties and wi fi kept dropping out only one case stand for twin room

Review 22:comfortable beds & decent sized room Terrace overlooking pool lovely or drinks and dining

Review 23:We could not order drinks at the swimming pool. The air condition in the restaurant was too strong, it was always a little cold - also in the lobby.

Review 24:Friendliness of the staff. Cleanliness, gorgeous view from the room onto Shwedagon Pagoda. Very nice gym.

Review 25:Noting really to complain about

Review 26:The rooms were comfortable, and were as good as most US hotels in this price range. The included breakfasts were excellent, and the one dinner we had there was very good. Though I didn't use it, the pool (based on my friend) was nice. And the location was good-outside downtown, but an easy cab ride or walk.

Review 27:.....Price. In Thailand for example, you can find a 5 star hotel for the same price than a premium room in this hotel .

Review 28:Almost everything 10 minutes walk to Shwedagon Pagoda.Nice park 5 minutes away. Very good chinese restaurant just in front of the hotel and some other burmese turning right (or left) 3 times from hotel entrance.

Review 29:Spotty Wi-Fi. Ordered ice one evening, but it never arrived. Smoking in the lobby. Like all the good hotels in Yangon, it is way overpriced (but good value in this boom market).

Review 30:The staff were truly wonderful in every interaction, and English was very good. The Premium Room, though on the small side, was very well appointed, with a sparkling new bathroom; beds comfortable and linens of good quality. Our rear facing room was very quiet. Breakfast buffet was just better than average.

Review 31:Pricing, like all of Yangon is high but relatively ok.

Review 32:Staff is friendly and helpful. Pool is good. Food in restaurant is good and a value. Breakfast is a large buffet.

Review 33:External facade looks a bit rundown and needs some renovation.

Review 34:The hotel is very close to Shwedagon Pagoda and my room actually had a good view of the pagoda. The room is clean and the staff are friendly.

Review 35:Leaving

Review 36:I stayed a total of 6 nights (2 x 3 nights) at the hotel. The staff were excellent and went out of their way to assist in anyway they could. The food was great and the bar was cosy and friendly. Absolutely loved this hotel and will stay there next time I visit Myanmer.

Review 37:food unexceptional. nothing interesting in the area (other than the major pagoda). v. overpriced for routinely 4 star hotel; but I think this is true of hotel s in Yangon in general, low value for money, compared to other Asia major cities and countries. bed below standard. Smoking allowed in public areas, v. healthful.

Also, the park across the street is good for a short run. The breakfast buffet is very good as well.
