Reviews for Hotel Plaza Padova
Review 1:Staff didn't seem pleased to recieve guests lodging on discounted rates. The facilities need to be more modern, they are neither rustic nor victorian
Review 2:I liked the fact that it was discounted and it gave me an opportunity to know the place first hand, hence I will use the place next time when I am not on a tight budget.
Review 3:The hotel is a bit old. You cannot compare with modern 4 stars hotels, but we did not mind.
Review 4:For the price we paid, we had an excellent service. The room was a bit old but with a good quality bed, nice a spacious bathroom, good shower and everything was clean. We slept very good. Breakfast was also good. Variety was limited compared to other 4 stars hotels, but again considering the price we paid we got more than what we expected: there was fresh fruit and choice of sweet and salted food.
Review 5:the room is very old ,and not beautifuls, beds is broken lamps kap not clean , and room near elevator ,you hear it 24 u/d. bad room sink broken, bad information personnel, in my openy this hotel is not 4 star but max 2 star.
Review 6:is nice pleas weer hotel is ,
Review 7:Awfull staff attitude towards guests, as if they were making people a favour in providing proper service. Unwilling to help and unatentive. This happened many times, ie check-in, reception in general, restaurant and bar. Looks like it is a systemic poor training or staffing issue or they are handpicking the worst. Finally, the wifi was extremely poor. Signal was poor and i had to re-connect my devices every 5min or so. This was incredible. And when i approached someone in reception for that i was told that many guests were complaining, that it was perhaps the number of guests at the hotel (!!!) and that she could do nothing (and kept looking at me as if i was annoying her). I would never return to this hotel.
Review 8:Walking distance from city centre, Scrovegni chapell etc and in front of a bus stop. Quiet room.
Review 9:Décor in my room was a bit stuck in the 1980s; but that's really not important, after all.
Review 10:First hotel I experienced in a long time with actual silent rooms and corridors! Staff ready to respond to any reasonable request: very professional, overall. A decent breakfast. Few mins walk to Padua's "piazze" and well connected to station and other attractions. Perfect Wi-Fi.
Review 11:Staff at reception non apologetic. Carpet very old requires changing. Inadequate information provided during booking around tax
Review 12:I will advise that your staff visit other countries and see how to approach people with other skin colour.
Review 13:4* Hotel should be much better! There was no tea and coffee making facilities not even a glass... The receptionist told us to go to the Bar upstairs to get some coffee... OK than... We wait there for 15 minutes and nobody came... Minibar with 4 bottles of mineral water???? Breakfast was worst I've ever had :(
Review 14:Old furniture and carpets. Hotel doesn't deserve 4 stars.
Review 15:Hotel is in the city center, just 10 minutes walking from the train station. Buffet breakfast was great (scrambled eggs, bacon, ham, cheese, croissants, cereals, milk, yogurt, fruit etc). Bathroom, towels and bed linen were clean.
Review 16:Does not look like a 4* hotel. Carpets worn and stained. Milk in the breakfast was rotten. Door lets all the noise in. Shower cabin very small compred to bathroom size.
Review 17:Large room. Good price.
Review 18:- Quadruple occupancy - Beds were generally comfortable except for the extra sofa bed with springs poking in my back. - Poor air conditioning in the rooms
Review 19:- Proximity of the hotel to places of interest in Padova; - Rooms were clean and beds were comfortable; - Wide selection of breakfast items, which we thoroughly enjoyed; - Dinner was delicious and enjoyed by all; - When we decided to extend our stay, the Front Desk Staff were very helpful.
Review 20:Evening meal at restaurant was worst meal during our trip for 3 weeks in Italy-pasta with mushrooms-unedible-lasagna-was like cream of wheat cereal with something like meat in between-they should forego the evening restaurant and use it only for breakfast-a huge disappointment unfortunately
Review 21:Facilities were satisfactory and staff was peasnat and helpful
Review 22:Not accessible for anyone with special needs. Needs some sort of rails for stabilizing a person without balance.
Review 23:Location was great. Area felt save. Staff was courteous.
Review 24:The hotel changed management, and it is felt. Savings in all. One soap and shampoo in the bathroom. Slippers that are declared as free, are available at the reception for 1.5 euros. There are no cups at the room, not for drink water or to brush your teeth. There is no paper napkins. At breakfast all of the one species - ham, cheese, bacon and eggs. No vegetables. However, all quite edible and stomach problems did not arise. At the minibar is just water.
Review 25:Location. Several kind of fruits on breakfast.
Review 26:The name of the hotel on the credit card bill is different. Caused lots of trouble with the bank. Your reservation is not flexible in any way (you can not change the number of passengers from 1 to 2 for a reserved twin room without paying lots of extra fees!). The city tax in Italy is just non-sense.
Review 27:Helpful staff, nice breakfast, and good location make it a good hotel to look upon.
Review 28:The continental breakfast didn't have as much variety as other hotels we stayed in.
Review 29:The location of the Hotel was very close to the center of the city, which was nice.
Review 30:First receptionist was a bit bosy and unfriendly. (second one was nice!) .
Review 31:Had a good night of sleep! we did not hear any noise and the breakfast was delicious. Great location!
Review 32:Old and amortized furniture. Insufficient air-con. No free mineral water in the room & no electric kettle.
Review 33:Close to downtown.Large and good equipped bathroom.
Review 34:The breakfast was very poor.
Review 35:The location is good, just about 10 min walking from the main center of the city. The hotel is worth it - good value for good location and all the facilities needed for a short stay.
Review 36:if you stay at a 4 star hotel in the middle of the city you aspect a 4 star service and I find it hard to believe that in a 4 star hotel you have to pay for the parking (20€) but my car was to big to fit in, so imagine finding a parking place after a 400km journey in the middle of Padova. The breakfast was kind of ok, except the scrambled eggs. The room was cosy, but it's strange that in a 4 star hotel you don't have shower gel and shampoo. Now, judging by the price, it was cheap but everything else was disappointing.
Review 37:It's in the middle of Padova.
Review 38:Very dirty. Glass with stains from previous client most probably a lady, because lips stains were all over, dirty mirror, allot of dust everywhere.
Review 39:The location and staff
Review 40:Reception staff seemed stressed and made us feel like a nuisance when we had additional questions. The room smelled of old socks and we paid for a 3-bed room but the third bed was a "temporary" bed and it was sloping to one side so that it was uncomfortable to sleep in. Some of the electricity sockets stopped working halfway through the night so our electronic devices were not charged when we had to leave the room.
Review 41:The location. Free Wifi worked without disruptions.
Review 42:Parking was 30 euro extra.
Review 43:Good location. Great price for the room. Better than expected. It was extremely hot and the air con just about kept up. Nice bar.
Review 44:Carpets in coridoors were well worn and stained, as was the lift, the breakfast was minimal and could do with some fresh rolls or bread instead of sliced bread that did not seem fresh and the toaster was not very good. The 3 euro tax was not made clear at the time of booking! The bar area is not situated in a good area and did not appear to be air conditioned! Towels well worn!
Review 45:Location is ideal, room was clean and tidy, staff were very pleasant Would use again perfect stop over walking distance from the station and location to Plazza's in city centre
Review 46:- breakfast selection quite poor for this type of hotel - while offering hot breakfast (not common in italy), the selection is very limited in both hot and cold/sweet options
Review 47:- location close to town centre - hotel of a good standard, with a comfortable and clean room - probably more geared to business clients during the week, but you can get a good deal on weekends
Review 48:The Hotel Plaza had been incorporated into a group of other hotels and the new owners now concentrate on the group travel. The service has been cut to "efficiency" meaning the basics. Example would be a breakfest. When the groups get in you will never get the elevators. The business people are no longer to be seen in the hotel and that speaks for itself. The prices for a room spin like a roulet for a week stay from €95 - €105 - €168! Unless you want to travel to Venice by train(hotel is close to railway station) choose other hotel.
Review 49:Some of the old staff is still on the job and they try very hard to keep it as it was in the past.
Review 50:The room was old and smelled. Very noisy air conditioner, and noisy street outside when you open the window. The wifi connection was poor.
Review 51:The location is near the city center. The station is easy reachable by bus. Extra long and wide comfortable beds.
Review 52:There was no parking available and if there had been it was and additional 13€ Staff were unhelpful with change for parking outside the hotel. Breakfast was average and our room on level A was very noisy.
Review 53:Clean and comfortable room which was spacious for four people.
Review 54:The Hotel is close to everything, very convenient. Loris the door man was the most kind and friendly person, always with a smile, he gave us very good advise of places to sight see around Padova. Hope to meet him again when booking at Hotel Plaza.
Review 55:hydromassage bath was not working. We were not able to open door between rooms and nobody ever came to do it for us.
Review 56:The room was classy and very clean. Great view and location. Delicious breakfast!!!
Review 57:- the staff were pretty cold; - to use the wi-fi was problematic
Review 58:- the price was reasonable (as it was with discounts); - the breakfast was very good.
Review 59:If you look for luxury of 4 star hotel, it’s not the place. If you look for decent place to stay, not far from train station and close to centre – I can strongly recommend it (but only with special offer prices). My only problem was that wifi dindn’t work properly. The hotel is rather old, it needs some renovations.
Review 60:The place is ok, it was clean, breakfest was sufficient (included not only typical sweet things), stuff was professional and helpful.
Review 61:You cannot use the parking if you are with a bigger car. The staff sent us to a prking 1 kilometer away from the hotel. The rooms were cold and the receptionists told us that they can only give us blankets. The wi fi connection was very poor.
Review 62:The hotel could be considered a 4 stars in the 80's. He needs renovation. The breakfast is low quality. Moreover, we bought the Padova card and it was written on it that the hotel would have offered a welcoming drink to its owners but the staff refused to offer it to us.
Review 63:Good position.
Review 64:There are some rooms on the backsite of the building with an iron-door, dark and not so beautiful staircase. If you get the room there, you will not have a good feeling. Not enough parking place.
Review 65:Good location
Review 66:Maybe, when the hotel was built in the 80's it had the four stars, but now it's rather musty&dusty. The minibar didn't work. Although the products served at breakfast were pretty diverse, they tasted more or less the same (close to paper;) Don't try any juices!
Review 67:it was quite near to the main station (20min) and the sights (5-10min)
Review 68:In reception, girl with glasses was highly unprofessional, unfriendly and rude. It's a shame because other staff is ok but her behavior is unacceptable. That's why we don't recommend hotel.
Review 69:Location of hotel and breakfast are good.
Review 70:No parking available, the bathroom of the room had a problem. I had to cancel 1 night and they did not make me a discount, even more I have to paid the tax for that night.
Review 71:Bad wi-fi connection (need to go to the reception to have a decent connection) Breakfast can be improved - limited choice The bed was very hard and not comfortable at all Parking is very expensive for the city
Review 72:Great position
Review 73:- Additional beds were uncomfortable a bit, but double bed was excellent. - Heating is working by an air conditional which is noisy. Therefore I was cold a bit in the night because I didn't want to disturb the others.
Review 74:- Price, we had 72% discount maybe because of the last minute booking. - Clean, roomy, silent, good central location. - Breakfast is included which was good enough.
Review 75:Had a lot of trouble with large groups of very noisy & rude students. Got no sleep 4 out of 7 nights. Receptionists were absolutely horrible. We were treated as a nuisance. They refused to listen to our complaints
Review 76:The quadruple room was clean and large
Review 77:Lot of dust and other people hairs in rooms, had to go to our rooms on third floor trough back street (outside) and without elevator with all suitcases, WiFi had so weak signal that even when you manage to connect you can hardly use it for anything, TV not flat screen in all rooms as described and some of them not working, no hot water in the morning, heating in room not good enough, very expensive parking, receptionist not very kind. All of this is based on three rooms which my colleagues and me booked for two nights. We booked another hotel right after first night spent in Plaza and receptionist wanted us to pay full amount for two nights even we explained to him and showed to him all this mentioned. At the end manager of hotel had to deal with it. Shame that this is 4 star hotel.
Review 78:Location of hotel is very good, breakfast was OK
Review 79:very bad wifi connection Not very friendly staff I had to work and when I asked for the computer room, the reply was that there is only one computer which was stolen and that I can go to an Internet corner in the city! Also during breakfast the staff let the tables undone, or clean but without forks etc and denied to let us sit there even though there was plenty of time until the end. Let alone the fact that they were staring people to finish early their breakfast.
Review 80:Good location Very clean Nice room
Review 81:Although the place is a 4 stars hotel, but you have to pay for the parking and also even for keeping your baggage at the lobby!!! very poor WiFi connection .
Review 82:Breakfast was really good.
Review 83:The staff barely speaks English and is very rude (with the exception of Frederico). I booked a 3-person room which in fact was a double with an extra bed which was placed at the bottom of the double bed. I really found this arrangement quite... UNUSUAL to say the least. I had to try to re-arange the room myself so that everybody would have some space and privacy. The shower was broken and the staff ignored my requests to fix it. Only after my 2nd complaint I got it done. The hairdryer wasn't working either. The second day the Internet stopped working and the staff couldn't explain it other than "I don't know". On numerous occasions I asked for a manager but he/she was NEVER available even though I spent there 4 nights. The bed covers are probably 30 years old. I used my own blanket as the one provided by the hotel was in such a condition that I didn't want to touch it. Not an experience I would expect from a 4-star hotel.
Review 84:The location and the breakfast are good
Review 85:It's not a 4 stars hotel for sure, but the renewed rooms were spacious and clean, and the location is perfect. The staff was helpful everytime we needed.
Review 86:My room was not a classic triple room this time but it was clean. The daily price of the car parking was too expensive at euro 30, so I think this should be reduced.
Review 87:Fairly good choice at breakfast. I would have liked a freshly made Italian coffee. Wi-fi signal was adequate. The price of the room was cheap and the position of the hotel was perfect for a walk to the city centre. All in all it is a good deal.
Review 88:There is always queue at counter (almost missed train at checkout), they take a warranty by far superior to the price of the room and they charged my card even though I paid cash at checkout
Review 89:The room is big and comfy, it's clean, only the building is worth 4 stars
Review 90:nothing
Review 91:hotel in very good location; room was very clean and the bed comfortable; good variety of food and drink for breakfast - enough for short stay
Review 92:Not great english speakers. Staff often seemed rushed and under pressure.
Review 93:Safe packing. Very nice room and facilities. Easy walking distance from all tourist attractions in Padova
Review 94:I didn't like that the room smelled like an ashtray durin the 2 nights we spent there. I wasn't clean, everything in the room was old, parking costed 20 euro/day.
Review 95:I liked that the hotel was near the main corso(10 minutes) and also near the train station(20 minutes) from where you can take a train to Venice for 4 euro/person. The breakfast was in a nice restaurant, good and variat food, nice personnel of the hotel.
Review 96:Personal - bad command of English (as usual in Italy, even in hotels and banks) - not able to make nice and obvious greeting e.g. in the morning when passing reception. They igrore guests - no apoligize for technical problem (see below) Room - we were awaked by dropping leaking water from the ceiling in bathroom. I makes us to doubt about technical and hygienical condition of the hotel (and as told, not even sorry from the reception or servants) Breakfast - Italy has not advanced breakfast culture as Middle Europe, so we cannot expect such standard, however only 1 cheap cheese sort and no (no!) vegetables is too bad for international hotel. On the other hand - stupid sweets and cakes of every sort very extensive on the buffet Parking: EUR 30-40 per day - despite favourable location an extremity
Review 97:Location of the hotel
Review 98:Modern and clean hotel. Helpful staff and good location. We traveled to Padova to see Italy's game against South Africa. To our big surprise we arrived in the hotel and the entire Springbok squad and staff were staying there as well. As a rugbyfan I felt like a kid in a candystore and had an amazing experience. As a customer I was pleased to see that the level of service for 'normal' guests like us was just as good the service the South African national squad got. Even in a lobby packed with players they took the time to arrange our transportation to the stadium. I booked the hotel because it looked good and was conveniently located. I think the Springboks thought the same. What better recommendation is there than to have the former world champions staying at your hotel!
Review 99:We stayed in the Plaza while watching the Springbok vs Italy match and the staff was extremely accommodating and helpful in all areas. I would definitely stay there again.
Review 100:Nothing really. All was good.
Review 101:Huge room, even by us standards, let alone European tiny rooms. Thisroom was huge!!! Great breakfast! Location is near the center within 10minute walk.
Review 102:There was neither bathrobe no sleepers in my room. In the minibar was only mineral water for 2.50 per botle. Soundroofing is not good. The hotel looks a little bit worn out and needs to be renovated. Pilows are not comfortable.
Review 103:Perfect location. 5-10 min walk to the main sights, 25 min walk or 5 min by bus to the station. Friendly staff. Big size of the room (suit). Good breakfest.
Review 104:Although I cancelled on of the rooms reserved in due time, it was still charged in my credit card, together with the other rooms, before the date it was supposed to, and I had to communicate many times and ask booking.com to interfere in order for the extra charge to be taken back. During our stay, we were given rooms outside the central premises of the hotel, without having been informed about that. We had to use lots of stairs to get to our rooms and from there back to the hotel's main area. When we left no invoice was given to us, and although I have asked for it several times ever since, nobody has responded to my request.
Review 105:Old furniture and decorations (probably years 1980s style and condition). Poor quality breakfast.
Review 106:Room size. Location. Free Wi-Fi (not usual in Italy).
Review 107:I ordered a room for 4 people, with 2 single beds and 1 couple bed (the only option available while booking). But then, they only had rooms with 2 couple beds in the entire hotel! After all they got us an extra single bed, when I explained our situation.. I just wished that the stuff could be a bit nicer and understanding!!!
Review 108:Location; facilities; cleanliness..
Review 109:The cleaning of the bathroom was not carefully done. The pillows were rigid and very small. They need more staff on the reception desk. It is not 4 stars)) for the ordinary price.
Review 110:The room size was very good. The hotel is situated just in the city center. The hotel style belongs to the 70-s years)) The continental breakfast was satisfactorily served. The price with the discount was agreeable.
Review 111:Front desk staff were not very friendly or helpful. The map provided was not great and there was no tourist information in the hotel.
Review 112:Excellent location from which to explore the beautiful city. The restaurant was excellent and we ate twice there. The breakfast was very good. Staff in the restaurant were very helpful and friendly however staff on front reception were much less so.
Review 113:Breakfast is very poor. Waitress during breakfast ignored your request, impolite. Sound proofing is low.
Review 114:Staffs on the reception desk are very kind and helpful. Barmen is the best person. Location is very good/
Review 115:Bed preference not supplied. Room 301 very noisy - next to lifts - asked for a room switch and they never came back as promised. Bathrobes, slippers and coffee not in room as on booking. Breakfast poor - food frequently ran-out and slow to be replaced. Hot food - only same 2 items every day. Requests forgotten - e.g. had to ask twice for extra pillows. Check-out listed as 12 midday on booking but tried to tell us it was 11 a.m. - backed down reluctantly when shown paperwork. Final bill - refused paper copy for checking. Twice asked if we had used mini-bar, twice told 'no', but item still added to bill. Had to insist on seeing screen and insist on it's removal. Reception staff generally unhelpful, dour and at times very offhand, verging on rude - regrettably usually the female staff.
Review 116:Convenient for the historic town centre, on handy bus routes, near to restaurants. Manager, bar manager and cleaning staff very friendly and helpful.
Review 117:Unfriendly staff. Dirty, dark room. I booked offer with free Wi-Fi but they want money from me. If it possible choose other hotel.
Review 118:Location.It's only one plus.nothing more.
Review 119:Quiet yet so close to places of interest. Well served by public transport for station and centre. Staff very helpful and pleasant even under pressure. Room very spacious and comfortable; generous and tasty breakfast. Excellent value for money.
Review 120:Bad staff, we were waiting half an hour for the check in and one of the receptionists was rude and don't care about us. Old rooms with design of 50's
Review 121:Good place, nice breakfast, value for money
Review 122:Really unpleasant STUFF,they don't respect the rules of booking.com,weak wifi, loud and noisy, especially between 11am till 1am, whentourist groups are arriving to the hotel, poor breakfast, small rooms(approx. 12 m2) do they really have 4 stars? . This is the worst hotel Istayed in last few years...
Review 123:Near city center
Review 124:Our booking reservation promised free wifi but we had to pay it. It wasn't expensive.
Review 125:Very nice hotel and there were short walk to city center and nice restaurants. Breakfast was very good and really worth to enjoy.
Review 126:We have booked additional bed because it was offered in the reservation. As we have arrived we got the information that there is no additional bed. Moreover the toilets were not clean and on the bed linen we have found many hairs of the previous guests. The showers have not been cleaned for a long time. During checkin we met another family who had the same issue with the additional bed and yet another family who came with a baby and did not receive their room because it was not available. It was a cheap offer but the hotel is not reliable and not clean at all. The personnel is not helpful and not nice - they do not care.
Review 127:Breakfast was very good.
Review 128:Wifi was in our package when we booked but on arrival they said it was not provided. Waiting for a coffee from the coffee machine at breakfast, and it wasn't that nice.
Review 129:Great location and great facilities , very friendly and helpful staff. Rooms large and clean
Review 130:-old furniture -In 2014 internet should not cost money, even if it's cheap there -cleaning ladies are shouting and talking so loud outside the room when a person is trying to sleep
Review 131:Clean, great location, spacious room
Review 132:No simple way to connect - need to contact reception, looks like limited in time. Better have your own mobile data. Bathroom was not very clean.
Review 133:Really nice spacious room, and very good breakfast
Review 134:1) missed match between what we bought and what they offered us. We bought offer "child free" and they asked to pay for daughter 2) we had been asked to pay the full amount at check in time 3) we had a not insulated room at all and as a child cried all the night long in the next room, we did not sleep
Review 135:hotel was in very good position.
Review 136:As for a off street room can get noisy in front rooms.
Review 137:Not a bad place very close to everything staff very helpfull a bit noisy with the ice cream shop out front selling very nice icecream. A must to buy.
Review 138:Extremely hard to find a parking spot. The staff was rude and was not helpful at all. They said we should pay for the Wifi even though on the reservation was written it's free. We reserved room with 4 beds, but we got 2 beds and 1 sofa, which was extremely uncomfortable to sleep on.
Review 139:It's close to the center of the city.
Review 140:Wifi system, when you have to use password for each device, it's quite different from regular wifi.
Review 141:If to stay again in Padova, definitely I will chose this hotel. Why? it's very clean and comfortable, you just feel it. The breakfast is very good, the staff helpful. You just need to make reservations beforehand it's always full. The location is 10-15 minutes walking, just close to the main street of Padova.
