Reviews for Mediterranea Hotel & Convention Center

Review 1:The hotel is a little outside the main city. Somewhat difficult to find the hotel as the address listed on the website is incorrect. Needed to call the hotel to get correct location.

Review 2:The hotel is beautiful and comfortable. The staff was friendly. The rooms are beautifully decorated with ceramic tile floors. The view from our fourth floor room was spectacular.

Review 3:Bathroom was Small Room was a little cold

Review 4:Me and My Mother stayed one night in our Road trip from Salerno to Naples via Amalfi Coast. Check in and Check out was fast. Price was good. far from City Center. Clean Room. Hossein Shamloo Tehran, Iran

Review 5:I stayed in a room that was NOT renovated, and it felt dirty and run down. Bathroom sink was completely clogged. Friends I was traveling with had renovated rooms which were much nicer.

Review 6:Location was very nice. Lobby and building are getting upgrades. Breakfast was simple and very good.

Review 7:Quiet far from the centre, be careful with the breakfast and expiration dates with the food. Not 4*.

Review 8:Spacious room with see view for good price. 15 minutes from the hotel great local pizzeria

Review 9:Smelled smoke through the walls of our non-smoking room.

Review 10:We enjoyed being able to park and enter Salerno without difficulty. The breakfast was great and the service good.

Review 11:A bit far from the main attractions.

Review 12:View from the third floor toward the sea and town. Nice and pleasant place around, very quiet. Good fish restaurant nearby.

Review 13:Large room, big balcony Good breakfast, afternoon drinks and evening meal. Very supportive staff in the restaurant (Giovanni + others). Nice view of Amalfi coast from room and restaurant.

Review 14:Far away from city center Only one free beach, mostly you must pay 5 euro or more per day, its really expencive Very very very durty place! Waste is everywhere! You cant reach the sea without going throw the mountiens of waste. Very unplasurable! And for this you must pay 3€ per day! Next time-another city, never Salerno

Review 15:Really good hotel with nice personal, ledies on reseption always advaced us about our travel or something Not bad breakfast

Review 16:it seems some of the pictures showing on booking.com are completely edited. the place is likely far from the city center.

Review 17:The view of the trace is awesome.

Review 18:Didn't like the hair dryer (didn't dry and looked like a vacuum cleaner), tub was wobbly, no coffe maker or anything that the least expensive hotel has.

Review 19:Liked the price and the view we had from the room.

Review 20:It's not a 4 star hotel. It's a fine 3 star, but the expectation set by having 4 stars really created wrong expectation. The internet was awful. Useless.

Review 21:Very cost effective

Review 22:The area didn't take too kindly to outsiders and felt at times unwelcoming

Review 23:Staff cared alot about their visitors and went above and beyond to suit there needs

Review 24:The rooms need renovation immediately. The location is very bad and far from Salerno

Review 25:The breakfast is good. The staff very helpful. The price quite low

Review 26:Bed is not comfortable and very noisy each time you slightly move. Rooms are not clean, painting should be refreshed as well as bathroom. Forget about wifi, not working in rooms and barely at the lobby. There is access to a private beach as advertise, but costs 10 euro/person ! Location far from everything, car is a must. This hotel does not deserve its stars !

Review 27:Free parking.

Review 28:The bath tub was blocked so the dirty water stayed in the bath after having a shower. Toilet roll holder broken. This should be a 2 star hotel.

Review 29:The staff was friendly and wifi worked okay.

Review 30:Poor wifi! :(

Review 31:The rooms are very clean. Cleaning staff are nice. Lovely breakfast from Giovanni. Restaurant staff are very friendly! Great job! Keep it up,guys! :)

Review 32:WiFi was non existent in my room but this is only the tip of the iceberg. Worst breakfast in years, a dull and badly lit room, noisy vents, non working TV, ultra noisy bar fridge…

Review 33:I'd say nothing

Review 34:The Hotel stretches the truth. It has sea views but overlooking industrial units. It doesn't have a private beech, but promotes a pay per visit Lido. It doesn't have two restaurants but promotes a neighbouring seafood place. The reception staff weren't up to much either. We felt abit let down with the our stay as a result.

Review 35:The breakfast staff (led by the irascible Giovanni) and the bar and restaurant staff in general were excellent: friendly and obliging. The restaurant was good and as breakfasts in Italian hotels go it was pretty good too.

Review 36:We were not allowed to come with pet to the restaurant. However it is small pet - poodle. Parking was not available, we had to park a car on the street.

Review 37:- wifi voucher of 250 mb a day that you have to ask at the front desk, with no download and traffic monitoring, you have to pay extra for tv, pay extra for parking, all other hotels in town have a 1 Euro/person/day city tax, they asked for 3 euro/person/day, we wanted to change room in an empty hotel but was denied because we paid in advance and told it was a offer when we booked, than no refunds, they said it will be a sea view room but you could only see the sea by leaning by the right side of the balcony, it was a corner room, and...the hotel is situated on the outskirts of the city and nothing around, not a bar, not a market/store, nothing

Review 38:not mutch, clean but that is all

Review 39:The rooms were dirty, the light fell out of the ceiling along with a ceiling panel. Water was leaking from bathroom and ceiling. Hotel needs to be renovated.

Review 40:Gacoro at the front desk was very helpful.

Review 41:The hotel looks very bad, everything is old and the room doesn't look like any of the pictures posted on the Booking website. The sea is quite far from the hotel and the area in which the hotel is located is very dirty and with a lot of "ladies" in the street on the night. Also, the address from the booking is wrong. Try to avoid this location if possible!

Review 42:Nothing.

Review 43:the room is very basic. The mosquito net at the balcony is broken. no air-conditioning available when inside is at 27 degree Celsius There is misleading advertise saying tea and coffee facility are available. Yes, they are available at price! You have to pay for it.

Review 44:bed is reasonably comfortable

Review 45:Do not bother asking the staff about turist information - not only do they know nothing, they will give you false information!

Review 46:Very close to the metro station.

Review 47:A bit out of the centre & taxis are expensive considering how far you have to go. Train is available but Sunday is hard getting a ticket & they hit you for 6€ instead of 1.5€. Normal for Italy though and as always the signs are limited!!

Review 48:Nice place. Reasonable rates & staff. A

Review 49:No postcode, a nightmare to find, we eventually after driving around for hours got there late and very hungry! Staff useless and not very accommodating, could only offer bread and ham to eat.

Review 50:Breakfast was ok

Review 51:Tired - sink in my room cracked and black stains in the silicone around the bath. The decor was old fashioned as was the furniture The menu was limited and breakfast was not to my UK taste...

Review 52:Price Greeting Car parking Cleanliness

Review 53:The beds were way too hard! The restaurant could use a makeover.

Review 54:The staff at the hotel were wonderful! They couldn't have been more helpful in every way. Especially the ladies at the front desk. All of them! Giovanni and staff at the restaurant were wonderful!!!!

Review 55:The dining staff were brilliant, very cheerful, very professional and welcoming (not so much the front desk staff, although they were professional not very welcoming and a little standoffish)

Review 56:after taking a shower, there was some water on our room floor.

Review 57:Staffs in hotel are friendly, especially Giovanni ( serving breakfast ) and Antonio! Although the hotel is a little far from center, it is convenient to take metro to salerno center, and the neighborhood is quiet and comfortable. Love the sea view!

Review 58:It was hard getting any access to the beach. It was a bit far out to walk to the shops and when you drove into Salerno parking was near impossible. The street were dirty.

Review 59:The staff were very helpful and the room was clean. It was lovely having a balcony room and a great view of the sea.

Review 60:It is not in the 'nice' side of Salerno and parking was very tight (though we were always able to park on site)

Review 61:Being in Salerno is a great place to make road trips to the Amalfi coast towns, Naples, Pompei and other smaller but nice towns nearby...

Review 62:We failed to completely review the "fine print" regarding the terms and conditions. All over the Mediterranea website in BOLD and HIGHLIGHTED print were the words "Refundable prior to X/XX/XX" We brought this up with Booking.com and were told "hotel policy". Next time I will research other agents for our rooms.

Review 63:You had to go across the road and down the street to use a pool, and then had to where a hat in the pool while swimming, never have heard of that before, so we cooled of in the shower instead next to the pool. Pool area was nice though even though you had to pay the hotel to use it, very strange to us.

Review 64:Location was across the road from the beach.

Review 65:Rooms are equipted very poorly, with old furniture, and it is far from 4 stars, renovation going on. Formaly 4 stars are met by the tail:-), but in real life no. Beach close to the hotel, but not of any good, expensive entry for nothing.

Review 66:The staff deserves more than five stars. Breakfast is classical continental, food is tasty. Close to public transport.

Review 67:The place is looking a bit tired and in some need of refurbishment. Use of the word "resort" in the title on the front door is overstating things. Internet access was frustrating. A little way out from the centre of Salerno.

Review 68:Clean and comfortable.

Review 69:Staff couldn't speak english, or just few words. Surrounding is dirty and messy, very disappointing.

Review 70:The hotel was clean and close to the sea, staff tried to help, despite limited Enhlish knowledge,

Review 71:I like the hotel proximity to the 'Lunga Mare' Promenade. The pool was a nice extra, and staff were very helpful & speak English as well.

Review 72:Smelly aircon if not powered on

Review 73:great rooms

Review 74:One day we didn't have hot water

Review 75:South side of building is to noisy becouse of auf conditioning of restaurant.

Review 76:Beach and restaurant

Review 77:Very clean, great breakfast and staff. Nice and quiet, loved secure parking. Would call it a 3*, no frills.

Review 78:Room was plain and did not feel welcoming.

Review 79:Convenient location to the train station.

Review 80:The dinner, unfortunately not much choice!

Review 81:The very good breakfast served by mr. Giovanni!

Review 82:Location, internet, road noises.

Review 83:Clean, bright, comfortable.

Review 84:very nice staffs and the shower

Review 85:Good hotel, staff were great and breakfast was excellent.

Review 86:no free wifi need to improve the breakfast

Review 87:the kindness of the staff the cleanliness of the room and pubblic space

Review 88:Wi-Fi :(

Review 89:Everything was perfect.

Review 90:Flies and insects in room Weird neighborhood

Review 91:Near to sand beach Near to Metro

Review 92:Towels

Review 93:Service

Review 94:There is no access to the sea; Cold omelet for breakfast.

Review 95:Nice, clean room

Review 96:Although advertised with restaurant and bar, neither was open.

Review 97:Hotel was clean

Review 98:Need to add new password for with fi

Review 99:Nice view direct on the sea

Review 100:Mosquitos in lobby and rooms

Review 101:Near Arechi Marina

Review 102:The service we got from signore Giacomo was excellent. We want to thank him for his help.

Review 103:The breakfast was perfect to start well my day. Very rich. The host was very nice and kind.

Review 104:The location, terrible maintanace, many things are missing or do not function at all.Booking.com should not service this hotel

Review 105:Only the bed

Review 106:Nothing

Review 107:Very helpful staff, spoke good English, they gave some good tips on where to visit

Review 108:Too many stairs to the entrance - difficult with luggage.

Review 109:Room with balcony. Nice buffet breakfast

Review 110:Staff is very nice and helpful. Good breakfast.

Review 111:The wi- fi into my room wasn't work and is necessary to pay to use the beache or swimmig pool

Review 112:The breakfast

Review 113:Staff are very kind & nice view of the ocean. The meal I had in the lounge/bar was the best I have had in Italy!!

Review 114:Standard beach-type hotel on the road along the coast.

Review 115:parking lot not big enough

Review 116:walking distance to city centre

Review 117:Location and comfortable room

Review 118:poor breakfast, the rooms are only cheaply "renovated"

Review 119:staff very helpfull and friendly, monitored parking & garage

Review 120:Internet didn't work well in room. Lobby looked amazing and roomcomplete opposite. My mistake was going to southern Italy. Salerno (andall surrounding towns) is a dump. Dirty, loud, unkept, crowded, graffitieverywhere. Couldn't leave fast enough.

Review 121:Was probably the safest hotel in a city that is a toilet.

Review 122:Because it was raining, we had to travel to the center of Salerno by car, where it is almost impossible to find a place to park the car. Location is ok. We didn't have coffee or tea in the room.

Review 123:We had a room on the top floor and the balcony was very spacious. Also the room and the bathroom had a nice size and we had a fridge.

Review 124:Carrying luggage up the stairs in order to get into the hotel was not fun. The door to our room had a lock that was not straight and a previous occupant just about tore the door out to the point that the whole frame was loose. I asked for a new room and they didn't change it out for us.

Review 125:The place was clean.

Review 126:The wifi and the air conditioning didn't work, the bed was hard. The expresso coffee at the breakfast is paid. The hotel is old and the pictures doesn`t show how much it needs a renovation. Really far from Salerno's centre.

Review 127:You can see the bay from the window.

Review 128:The location...it was too far from the town centre with no clear advice on how to access the centre easily from the staff. It also was not on the sea front as the advert had alluded too. You need a car to stay here.

Review 129:We had an appartment which was large and comfortable but poorly equipped. .. The staff were friendly though not always as knowledagable as we would have liked.

Review 130:The staff at the reception was friendly and helpful. Good value for money - so long as you don't mind being away from city center and prefer quietness.

Review 131:I was charged 3€/day extra though I understood no extra payment necessary . They serve the worst caffe americano in Italy. They make it by mixing coffe with cold water in a jug and then heating the mixture. Disgusting and a bad start to the day.

Review 132:The hotel is on the main road with easy access
