Reviews for Alpine Resort Motel
Review 1:Room I booked not available on arrival. Being relocated to a dormitory bed in another hotel which had not been cleaned at all. All other beds unmade, old pizza box lying on one bunk and unclean bathroom.
Review 2:Locaation being 2 minute drive to town
Review 3:a bit tricky to find the reception if parked at lower carpark area for first visit. The room is a bit dusty.
Review 4:have pool table and table tennis facilities for youngsters to play
Review 5:We weren't impressed after having booked a week in advance to find upon arrival very late in the afternoon and checking in that the room had not been cleaned. Had it not been for the fact I had booked 2 rooms in total we would have been waiting in the afternoon sun nearly 2 hours as we waited for the room to be cleaned. The manager was apologetic, had some lame excuses but clearly quality control is nonexistent. He did though offer me compensation, 50% discount on the room, now had he actually honoured this statement my review may be more favourable but as he didn’t we would have been far better off seeking lodgings elsewhere as the rooms are far below sub standard, though quite acceptable perhaps for back packers during the ski season, let’s face it middle of Summer and no air con makes these rooms somewhat prehistoric.
Review 6:As a cheap one night stopover it is fine.
Review 7:Some might find the walls a bit thin and a bit noisy.
Review 8:Good rooms, clean comfortable, friendly and helpful staff. Relaxed vibe and great value. Quiet location close to town and lake
Review 9:Location perfect as close to the stunning lake where we spent our afternoons and also close to local shops. Only 20 mins from Thredbo. Place was clean and bathroom surprisingly newer than expected. The bed was also comfy. Would stay again! Cute dogs on site too :)
Review 10:If all motels had a shower as good as this one ..... added to the overall good impression of the room which had a tremendous view over the lake. The motel is close to all amenities and very easy to find .
Review 11:Minor details like no wine glasses (only tumblers). Little extras like tea bags and milk only infrequently topped up. No shade in car parks.
Review 12:Big room. Lake View excellent though marred by powerlines (common Australian problem) and light-industrial rooftops). Free, no-nonsense wi-fi.
Review 13:The only complaint as such is that even though our room had a hotplate (which we chose because it meant it kept our budget down as far as being able to eat in some nights) there were no saucepans/frying pans or anything to use it- if we'd known we would've brought some from home. It isn't a huge deal and I would certainly still stay there but I think it'd be great if even one frying pan,a saucepan and some basic utensils like tongs were provided in the rooms with hotplates or at the least advising that guests need to bring their own.
Review 14:Value for money. Continental breakfast included. Friendly staff. Comfortable beds. Comfortable guest lounge area.
Review 15:Staff were friendly. Good clean, tidy hotel. We only stayed for 2 nights but it's just right when you just need a basic room and a comfy bed. (Plus, the friendly doggies are a cute bonus!)
Review 16:Heating (fire place) was turned off in guest lounge when I last stayed. I understand I was one of very few guests there at the time - so no dramas!
Review 17:Staff very friendly Location good for my needs Room very comfortable
Review 18:Though the hotel was almost empty we go people staying next to our room who were noisy till 2am 2nd and 3rd night. Rooms are not sound proof at all. Left a day early without rest...very frustrating...
Review 19:The friendliness of those who work there
Review 20:Only real downer was one of the towels had big black stain on it.
Review 21:The view of the lake was great and we were on the snow in no time.great budget place to stay for a weekend st the snow or even Jindy in general.
Review 22:Wobbly bunk (13 yo on top), two singles made a double, one sheet was dirty and had couple of long dark hairs - assuming not changed.
Review 23:Good location, easy parking, warm room, friendly reception. Breakfast was included, but up too early so can't comment.
Review 24:Very noisy hotel you can the people above you room, bed was uncomfortable could do with a small vaccume cleanner
Review 25:Very easy to get to hotel very Central to both shopping & getting to the snow
Review 26:There was nothing I didn't like about my stay, but we stayed in budget room and we were happy with that but there was no cooking facilities, although breakfast was included and the room has a toaster and a microwave oven.
Review 27:The location is superb, 2 minutes to town, lake etc and 30 minutes to Thredbo. Good views, high for breeze in summer, quiet area but close to everything.
Review 28:One window failed to lock. There is no air-conditioning which would be good for summer stays.
Review 29:Great location, superb price and very friendly staff.
Review 30:No drying room for ski gear so had to scatter boots and clothes throughout the room.I cannot imagine where you'd find space for family/group ski equipment! For me, the lack of a drying room is a deal breaker in winter. Would stay here again in other seasons though.
Review 31:The bed was comfortable, great shower with lots of hot water, quiet, complimentary basic continental breakfast was appreciated. Good value for 2 people at the last minute. The receptionist, Kylie, sent us an sms prior to our midnight arrival outlining how to access our room, so she gets a 10 for service!
Review 32:We stayed in a budget King room. The room was extremely clean and contained all the basic requirements. Basic breakfast was included. It was very good value for money.
Review 33:Wifi was pretty poor but that was because the amount of people on it- so not really the hotels fault.
Review 34:Really friendly front staff- especially one lady who helped check us in late, and was helpful in any way possible and was great at breakfast too- seemed like she ran the whole hotel! (But did a great job at it)
Review 35:That I paid way too much for false advertisement on breakfast included in the price. What they "forgot" to advertise is that there is inexistent breakfast after the end of August. The only thing they serve is bread, pounder coffee and hot water. If this is breakfast that worths above 220 $ a night I am the President of the resort. We asked another place down the road were the prices were at almost half price and they were serving cooked breakfast with a price of course. But nevertheless, at least they served hot breaki with a distinct price. Will never return to Alpine Resort anymore. They just treat us as cattle and nothing more!
Review 36:Nothing
Review 37:Standard snow accommodation, all good but they advertised a full breakfast included and breakfast consisted of cereal and toast. It was poor at best.
Review 38:Location was fine
Review 39:Bunk beds uncomfortable Poor WiFi No ski storage
Review 40:Great location Pool table to keep kids entertained Clean bathroom Plenty of storage Great views of Lake Jindabyne
Review 41:Great view of the lake, rooms were warm and good shower pressure. Booked last minute for a cheeky snowboarding trip - so a hot shower and heating were important!
Review 42:Shower curtain could be a bit lower to stop water entering bathroom floor. There is a little glass shelf pretty low over the sink you need to be mindful of when cleaning teeth or washing face after shaving etc.
Review 43:The beds were super comfy. The room and hallway were warm. Friendly staff. Complimentary games room. Awesome hot shower with great pressure. Very reasonably priced.
Review 44:Noise from both interconnection room doors even though neighbors were considerate. Wifi patchy and very slow.when available. Breakfast was extremely simple cereal and toast but okay.
Review 45:Comfortable relaxed atmosphere with good sized room, and a view of lake Jindabyne. Wifi was free. Microwave kettle and toaster provided Building and fittings in good condition. Plenty of coat hangers in cupboard.
Review 46:Broken bed room was small and musty breakfast what breakfast As far as I know they still haven't cleaned the room and I left 3 days ago Never made the room up or even emptied the bin Very very disappointing won't be coming back
Review 47:Close to town
Review 48:Awfully expensive for what we had - I understand that it's the middle of the skiing season but almost $300 for a dump of a room seems totally unreasonable even taking the season and location into consideration.
Review 49:Paper thin walls. We had a crying baby in the room next door. Did not sleep all night. Could even hear the parents talking and people in the corridor.
Review 50:Nice and easy check in. Lovely staff. Room was ready for us to crash in.
Review 51:It is what you would expect for what you pay - not a luxury resort, but we would come here again. Water pressure in shower wasn't great and temperature fluctuated a lot.
Review 52:Buffet breakfast was great. Nice friendly atmosphere and lovely staff attitude. A very welcoming place. We felt quite at home here.
Review 53:Awesome cheap accommodation in Jindy, perfect launching spot for the slopes each day! The staff set up our room complete with heater on arrival. Will definitely return to Alpine :)
Review 54:Walls were a little thin and we had very early rising neighbours!
Review 55:Was not aware breakfast was provided for each night of the stay which was excellent. Room was warm and spa bath was an added bonus at the end of a long day of skiing!
Review 56:No drying room but the 2 heaters in the bedroom worked wonderfully so our clothes dried anyway. We could often hear next door because we were placed in a room with a joining door but that wasn't too bad.
Review 57:The staff and breakfast was fantastic. The cheap drinks and games room was also fantastic. The room was very warm and comfortable with a very clean bathroom. Great water pressure I the shower. Bed was very comfortable.
Review 58:The staff were so friendly and the food was so amazing! Very Very Very happy! I stayed at Thredbo the night after in a place that was quadripple the price and I preferred staying here.
Review 59:Price and value in comparison to banjo Patterson where we stayed for 2 nights in nicer surrounds, better fresher breakfast for less money!
Review 60:Room availability
Review 61:Wi-Fi strength is strong but overall the speed was poor. It would have been great to have a drying area for wet ski/board gear. We, instead, stored it in our bathroom / on the heater so wasn't difficult to work around.
Review 62:The location is fantastic with the heating in rooms just right. The common area was fun for the kids and access to the laundry was a bonus for us (we could have packed less if we'd considered this).
Review 63:was very noisy until everyone went to bed. With a young child we were in our room early. Our room was located underneath the common are so we could hear doors opening and closing and people walking around
Review 64:room was ready and clean
Review 65:Rooms were spotless, very comfortable with everything you would need.. Great pillows, warm room, good facilities , nothing we didn't like...enjoyed our stay... Only thing I would say is the main recreation /dining room needs updating but that's only cosmetic.. Other than that it was a great place to stay!!
Review 66:We went with a group of around 20 who were having fun in their lobby playing billiard and table tennis. The owner or manager asked one of the group members to leave the room as they are getting odour. It is their resort's problem of not having any room air freshener. I organized the group and recommended the resort, I was embarrassed when the group member shared it with me.
Review 67:Everything was good except an issue of the management's behaviour.
Review 68:Rooms, facilities and breakfast were very basic and probably wouldn't suit for a longer stay
Review 69:Quite acceptable and served its purpose as stopover on way to the snow
Review 70:Poor heating in the room. Got 'upgraded' to ground floor with a view of a cement slab and a fence.
Review 71:Friendly staff, very knowledgeable with the area. Good breakfast.
Review 72:Breakfast...need healthier and more options. View was of a concrete frence
Review 73:Heating...very warm and left on during the day. Towels..really nice and new. Very clean. Easy access and parking.
Review 74:That was great experience to stay a night in the Alpine Resort Motel. The staff there are so nice and thoughtful. There is also a shopping area near the motel. However the heater worked not so good and the wifi seems very slow.
Review 75:there was a glass under the bed. one of the metal bunk bed frames was very wobbly and unstable.
Review 76:warm room and bedding good breakfast main living area good for children & provision of table tennis, poole table
Review 77:Our experience was dampened only through the snow tunes event booming til midnight. Then someone drunk threw a rock at our window trying to get in next door. After they were in they were throwing up all night. We could hear every word in the next room. We didn't get much sleep but obviously none of that was within your control as you can't help the quality of your guests :-)
Review 78:Staff was great. Really nice room lovely view and very convenient. Some glasses in the room might be a useful addition and perhaps a heater in the bathroom. Everything was comfortable and clean. Great place to stay.
Review 79:Room smelt overpoweringly of cleaning chemicals or carpet freshener (on ground floor so I didn't feel safe leaving window open).
Review 80:Cooked breakfast - good and served with a smile.
Review 81:The unit had new hydronic heating which was inadequate and had to be backed up by two column heaters in the room. The shower was poor, I was deprived of a good shower because of water savings once again. Senseless providing cutlery and dishes without a sink and in the very least, a small kitchen area. There wasn't a folder of local details for the guest. I've never stayed in a motel that doesn't have one.
Review 82:Room size and bathroom size was very good. Great view of Lake Jindabyne.
Review 83:Only bad thing we found was that our bins weren't emptied and no clean towels until the 4th day of a 5 day stay.
Review 84:Friendly staff, neat and tidy room. Good included breakfast. Good for price in this area in peak season.
Review 85:We could hear a loud noise from upstairs in our room and it woke the children. The motel overall was quite noisy
Review 86:Awesome free breakfast. Great veiw from the balcony. Helpful and friendly owner
Review 87:The worst value I have ever experienced. That standard of accommodation in Canada would be about 40 dollars a night. Couldn't believe it. I also wasn't happy with how they dealt with a customer in an emergency medical situation. Not willing to look beyond policy and help people out. We actually paid 400 dollars for one night stay in a 1 star accommodation.
Review 88:Nothing.
Review 89:A bit loud. Could hear the sliding doors from other rooms. Other than that it was all you need for a cheap stay.
Review 90:For the price it was clean, warm and comfortable. Easy check in and out. A drive to Jindabyne shops, not walking distance but after a day skiing you don't want to walk anyway! Also good to cheat some of the weekend traffic jam heading up to the hill.
Review 91:showers was just worm and no pasha coming out there was problem with heaters in are room and there was no lounge as sad on statement agreement or king bad only bunks so was a bit disappointing but it was ok. hopefully next time well be improved . diffident did not wont to compile. i had good time all it mater to me.
Review 92:service
Review 93:well, I found out the unclean winter blanket inside the wardrobe when I needed to use it I saw a big line of dried liquid or anythings stained on it. Oops, I just returned it back to the wardrobe.
Review 94:U got mini kitchen in your room. It just blew me up. It was great time to stay in this hotel. Thanks
Review 95:a little dated and a bit too far to walk to town but good value for money.
Review 96:The place was spotlessly clean and everything worked in the room. there was great hot water pressure in the shower, very important after a day on snow.
Review 97:2 uneven single beds pushed together as a king bed. Small stuffy room. Cold breakfast (bacon and eggs).
Review 98:Nothing. Felt like overpriced backpackers hostel
Review 99:Room amenities were poor - photos of the room a bit misleading .. in photos had a sink, looked like a kitchen, in actuality there was a little bar fridge inside a wardrobe
Review 100:Driving distance of the snow and close to town
Review 101:Other guests quite noisy early in the morning (not the hotels fault). Maybe have some signage reminding guests to be quiet/respectful of noise?
Review 102:Breakfast included. Friendly staff.
Review 103:The rooms I think are new and they need more wall hooks for all the snow gear we had. also need hooks in bathrooms for towels.
Review 104:cheap and cheerful. great breakfast and dinner if you don't want to go out after busy day on snow.
Review 105:Cigarette smoke smell in corridors , price per night
Review 106:Friendly staff gave me directions to get to address and to room , left heaters on before we arrived.
Review 107:There was no phone in the room
Review 108:Everything was great . Loved the family friendly lodge style environment and beautiful views of Lake Jindabyne. Room was comfortable and clean with microwave , stove , comfy bed and prompt service. Common room was great and staff friendly and courteous.
Review 109:Friendly staff, room was a good size with everything u need, food was good, games room for the kids, fantastic for the price. Would recommend & would stay there again.
Review 110:Our heaters didn't work properly, there were no towel rack in our lake view studio we paid 800 dollars for a night, and the walls were too thin
Review 111:Really liked the staff and their hospitality. It was very welcoming
Review 112:Pillow cases & sheets on the bed need replacing, there a little dated
Review 113:Friendly staff and a lovely complimentary bottle of champagne to celebrate our engagement!
Review 114:We arrived late at night so the hotel staff left the key for us and turned the heaters on prior to our arrival. It was very nice to arrive with a heated room which made our stay all that more enjoyable.
Review 115:There was black ice on the outside metal stairs, which could have been dangerous. We saw it before it was a problem.
Review 116:Our room didn't have enough beds. We were moved straight away which worked out very good.
Review 117:Nothing at all.
Review 118:Excellent value for money. Close proximity to the snow. And you get a discount at the ski hire shop across the road! Very pleased overall.
Review 119:1 room have no hair dryer, other have no extracting fan, mirror light not working. No radio/clock or phone to contact reception. Unable to contact reception through mobile with many attempts for facilities such as skiing gear dry room etc. Same breakfast menu everyday.
Review 120:very good location
Review 121:breaky a little basic, however, inexpensive.
Review 122:bathroom good standard, room fine, staff friendly. Location at end of town making the run to ski tube/resorts quicker and without traffic hassles.
Review 123:Smoke detectors could be more sensitive to deter smokers ... We could smell waft of cigarette smoke overnight. A harder line needs to be taken and more signs put up possibly in a few Asian languages... Window safety needs tightening up - especially with young children in the accomodation. Animals in communal area. Partying in adjoining rooms..
Review 124:Layout of room and location great. Staff very nice and accomodating.
Review 125:The room was a bit cramped as we had two kids and two adults. We also had all the ski gear to fit in. The bunks were up against the wardrobe so it was hard to access. It would have been better if this room was dedicated to a couple and the family rooms were larger.
Review 126:The breakfast was reasonable.
Review 127:Great value for money compared with other options. Top quality bedding, pillows and towels. Good to be able to cook in the rooms (hot plate and microwave). We took a pot & pan, which is advisable if you want to cook. Our kids (10 and 11) loved the recreation room with the pool table and table tennis. Staff friendly and professional. Family friendly. We had a wonderful stay.
Review 128:Nothing to cook with on hot plates ie pots , pans ran out of toilet paper during the stay double bed was two singles pushed together not very comfortable
Review 129:Staff friendly and entertainment was good food was good
Review 130:Have no issues with anything here at the Jindabyne Alpine Resort Motel.
Review 131:I will definitely be staying at the Jindabyne Alpine Motel again and will refer this accommodation to anyone. Breakfasts and evening meals terrific (no lunches provided, but everyone are generally out for the day Anyway) staff excellent, facilities great. I stayed there for 5 nights with my teenage daughter we both enjoyed our stay immensely. We reluctantly had to leave at the end of our 5 nite stay on Sun 12 July '15. Highly recommended. Paul from Barossa Valley, S.A.
Review 132:Very friendly staff with great value meals provided. Nothing was too much trouble. We expected budget style accommodation...great for a short snow stay just down the hill from Perisher...but Alpine Resort Motel delivered that little bit more that keeps things simple but comfortable.
Review 133:We could hear everything in the rooms either side of us. Pretty annoying when we wanted to sleep
Review 134:Clean rooms. Nice staff. Easy to find. Great shower and spa bath
Review 135:Comfortable room and beds. We utilized the common room, microwave, cutlery & crockery. DVD TV was well used by my children. Good proximity to the ski tube. Ski hire 'The Shed" across the road was an excellent place to hire ski gear.
