Reviews for Furano Natulux Hotel
Review 1:Terrible pillows. All our nights sleep were degraded by the poor quality of the pillows provided.
Review 2:Amazing staff, comfortable modern facilities, nice breakfast. Located across the road from the train station and bus stop. Close and easy proximity to the slopes via hotel subsidised bus or taxi's. We loved our stay.
Review 3:Breakfast, a little bit standard and small restaurant
Review 4:The location is very near with the station and around the hotel we can enjoy small city atmosphere with good foods and nice scenery
Review 5:Good location in city center. Good hotel and facilities. Nice. Flexible staff that changed our booking when we arrived so we didn't pay for the first night for one of the rooms (some friends arrived one day later then planned)
Review 6:Only 2 fixed breakfast menus available - you get tired of eating the same if you stay for more than several nights. Wifi connection was pretty bad in our room, but it might be room specific. At reception everything worked fine.
Review 7:The staff was super helpful. Ample parking space. Nice having, even though relatively basic, spa facilities on-site. Overall great experience.
Review 8:One guest brought handphone into the relax spa! Need a staff to monitor the spa entrance at least.
Review 9:Location: 2 mins walk from train station Hotel: has a relax spa to chill Staff: helpful and friendly
Review 10:Restaurant not serving food at 11am.
Review 11:Staff speak English and Mandarin. I received a warm welcome from the staff when I step down from the Bus at night, which made me feel like home. Location is great, in front of train station with great restaurants nearby. View from my room was great.
Review 12:Not as close to the ski field as other hotels.
Review 13:Staff were friendly and accomodating. They had great reccomendations for food in the local area. They gave vouchers for discounts on taxis and buses and the included breakfast was perfect before a day of skiing.
Review 14:Although close to the train station, it's far from the slopes. I also didn't see any shuttle buses being offered to get to the ski resort...While new, living quarters are still a little cramped for the countryside.
Review 15:Modern hotel with all of the amenities. Stick with the Western breakfast. Close to the train station if you arrive late.
Review 16:Though we had a small wardrobe, there was nowhere else in the room to hang our coats. Some coat pegs or hooks would have been good. Also, the dryer in the laundry room takes too long (about 2 hours for a full wash).
Review 17:The hotel is right across the road from the train station, bus station, taxi rank, and Information office. The hotel is clean, comfortable, and classy, and the food delicious. As Muslims, we were happy that there are seafood options for us for every meal, and the kitchen will accommodate our dietary needs. Best of all, the staff are really friendly and helpful; not only are they knowledgeable about the area, but, they also went out of their way to ensure that we had all the information to make the most of our day. Otsuki-San's knowledge of all the places to visit just cannot be beat! Our thanks also to Iichi-San and Shimeizu-San. This is our second time at Furano and Natulux, and the hotel owner, Kiyomi-San, so kindly took us around to the nooks and crannies of Furano and surrounds three days in a row! We felt so thankful, humbled, and honoured. And we also realise that Furano is beautiful in every season, and there is still so much to see! We shall return!
Review 18:I have stayed at Natulux on a number of occasions and rank the hotel as my favourite for hotels in that price range. It has a very high standard of comfort and "class", again for hotels in that price range, and the staff most friendly and welcoming.
Review 19:Great location with very helpful and friendly staff. Both Japanese and Western breakfasts were good and the wonderful fresh Hokkaido milk was a bonus. Free parking!
Review 20:Don't like the breakfast here, it costs 1300 yen per day per person. Although it provides the western and Japanese style breakfast, but still can't have enough. Hope the hotel changes the breakfast into buffet.
Review 21:The hotel is just located opposite of the Furano railway station, only 2 minutes walk. Location is perfect. Good service with laundry. The room, if you live in the upper floor and face the mountain, then you can have a grand of Furano top mountain. That's the extra benefit to live here.
Review 22:Our room smelled strongly like moth balls, we didn't bring it up to the staff though.
Review 23:Cute boutique hotel with excellent customer service (English speaking), spacious rooms, clean spa, great food. Good location for day trips to Asahidake, Biei, etc.
Review 24:The onsen is very small
Review 25:The hotel is located near the train station and has some very nice restaurants around it. Staff were very helpful and could speak good English.
Review 26:Onsen was very small and the breakfast tray was a bit limited.
Review 27:Pleasant, modern boutique hotel very near Furano railway station with comfortable rooms. Free parking outside.
Review 28:1. Very small rooms, cant open a medium size luggage bed. 2. Very small spa area.
Review 29:1.Very helpful staff. My husband lost his pair of glasses in Nikka Whisky factory. The staff helped us to communicate with the factory and post office and helped us to get back the glasses just before we went to the airport. Many thanks and really appreciate their help. 2. Breakfast is good, whether it is Japanese or Western style.
Review 30:room space is limited
Review 31:simple and modern interrior design, kid-friendly arrangement (many children's books at lobby), good service, good breakfast! also good location.
Review 32:The room is very small. Food is limited in the restaurant.
Review 33:The location is really good. It is just opposite of the JR station. 1 minute walk. The staff are nice and room is clean.
Review 34:Nothing
Review 35:Stayed for 1 night, the hotel room is pretty small but clean. The wash basin is outside the toilet and that might caused a little inconvenience besides that space is a little awkward. Breakfast was simple and nice. Special compliments to the staff all of them are very friendly
Review 36:breakfast too simple. Price too high as there leaves very limited choices in Furano at peak season in middle of July.
Review 37:Location great, just the opposite site to train station. Room very clean n tidy. Service very good.
Review 38:The room could have done with some vacuuming throughout our stay, especially under the bed. We had down pillows, to which we were slightly allergic. We didn't explore it, but would have liked the option of a synthetic or rubber pillow. The lunch and dinner menus were limited, and, given our dietary restrictions, even more limited to seafood dishes, which is one in the lunch menu, and none in the dinner menu.
Review 39:Natulux has got two excellent things going for it: Location and Staff. The hotel is right across the road from the train station, bus terminal, and taxi rank, which is really convenient if you're dependent on public transport. It is from here that any trip to a lavender field, hot springs, mountain or town begins. Since we were just across the road, we only had to leave our room about five minutes before the bus arrives or the train leaves. And even though Japan is very safe, it is comforting to know that we could come back late at night and pretty much be 'home' in a minute. The staff make this hotel more than just a place to sleep. All of them were helpful, courteous and conscientious about ensuring that we had a good holiday, in the hotel and surrounds. Otsuki-San and Shinoda-San were by far our favourites though, not only because they were fluent in English, but also because they cared for us so well throughout our 11-night stay. On our departure, both helped us with our luggage and kept us company until the bus arrived and waved us off, just as friends and family would! We really appreciate that. Otsuki-San's recommendations for where to go and what to see were absolutely spot-on and suited our preferences, and we felt lucky to be staying in a hotel in which the staff often gave better advice and directions than those at the Information office. We were not surprised to later find out that Otsuki-San started out as a travel agent! As Muslim travelers, we also appreciated the hotel taking pains to ensure that we were only served seafood dishes, and on our second day, upon realizing that there were two Muslim guests in the hotel, the vice-president of the hotel, Ishihira-San, herself provided us with prayer mats, and we were so touched by that. Breakfast was roughly the same thing every day, but it was delicious and we looked forward to it every time.
Review 40:The room a little bit small as the high price.
Review 41:The staff very friendly and helpful, and prepare the map to us easy to find the place. The bed very very comfortable.
Review 42:Staff atitude is so common. Not as good as other hotel during our trip in Hokaiido. Room is so small and the price is almost the same as the 5 stars hotel in Sapporo.
Review 43:Location is great, very convenient for transportation. Wonderful restaurants nearby.
Review 44:The price I paid is high for small rooms. Maybe because of last minute booking.
Review 45:Location is truly near the station. Hotel is very new and room is very clean. Food at the cafe tastes awsome.
Review 46:Cons: Room size small for 4* hotel. Very limited space in room for opening luggage. Need to open and close luggage on top of the bed each time. Clear pane glass window that can't be opened in bathroom somewhat pointless. Makes hotel look like a love motel with the window. Hotel located in a small quiet town with nothing really to see or do. Good breakfast; choice of Japanese and Western. Ample food served with option for more soup and rice (Japanese) or bread (Western). Self served drinks not really considered 4* service but good idea. Didn't mind getting own drinks at all. Mini bottles of milk delicious. Laundry on 1st floor only 1 washer and dryer available. Also a bit more pricey than other hotels but includes washing liquid in the ¥300 price for washer. Dryer ¥100 for 30 mins. Need to dry about 1.5 he's for clothes to actually be fully dried. Needs more washers and dryers.
Review 47:Pros: literally just across the street from the JR train station if you're travelling by train. Great for those whodrive too; free parking. Free separate mens/ladies spa/Onsen in hotel although small. Only 2 drying stations and 3 shower stations. Also have a heated rock bed which you have to pay about $10 USD for but not really worth it in my mind. Decor nice and somewhat modern. Double bed size very big compared to a lot of other hotels in Japan. Staff spoke very good English. Definitely would consider this a 3.5* based on service, location, facilities but not 4* because of the lack of room to unload luggage.
Review 48:None of these.
Review 49:Next to the hotel is Furano JR station. The guest room "Bettei" is comfortable for a 4-member family, and the service rep. are nice and easy to communicate with English :)
Review 50:The wash basin is outside the bathroom and very near the bed.
Review 51:Almost everything. The location, the room, the bed. The set Western breakfast is wholesome and yummy. Good value for money.
Review 52:Nothing we dislike. If need to say something, the public bath is like a bath tub but the hotel does state clearly it is not a hot spring.
Review 53:Friendly and helpful staff. Many restaurants within walking distance. Nice room.
Review 54:great staff, perfect location, very convenient for JR trips. Breakfast very tasty. They also provide bath and beauty care sets including lotion and emulsion. The hot bath is a bit small, but we found it not a trouble, since most of times we got it on our own. Will definitely stay for next trip if visit again.
Review 55:Since my last stay when it first opened, some of its charm was lost: no more scent in room, hardware showing signs of age; bathhouse, even when I'm aware it's not proper onsen, is pathetic.
Review 56:Convinent location. Staffs are helpful.
Review 57:The wifi in the room is difficult to connect and the onsen as shown on the webpage is pathetic.
Review 58:The staff are very friendly and helpful. Helped us to make dinner reservation. The room looks well maintained.
Review 59:Since the rooms are small people tend to sit on the edge of the bed and the mattress coils are worn out as a result.
Review 60:Front desk staff are super nice, English fluent and very professional. Restaurant is small but nice. Onsen is a plus.
Review 61:Sometimes trying to communicate in english was challenging. Bus service to the skiing area needs to be more frequent. This is not the fault of the hotel.
Review 62:Friendly staff always willing to help;
Review 63:It seems to be normal in japan to change the sheets every day. This is nice, but not necessary for us..
Review 64:Friendly and helpful staff, to help us with our first visit to Japan. Access by train from the airport was convenient, via local train from Takigawa. The staff made the extra effort when we needed assistance. Hotel facilities all functioned perfectly, even at -19C. Highly recommended.
Review 65:Not ideal for skiing, though there is a shuttle bus to Kitanome throughout the day. However if you miss the 8:10, you have to wait until 11:20. Also doesn't go to the New Prince Hotel and the Ropeway early in the morning, but manageable with the link lift.
Review 66:Good location for transport and restaurants. Staff is excellent, very helpful and friendly. The free Onsen is a godsend after a long day of skiing. My room was small, but comfortable and immaculate. The housekeeping's spot on, never skipped a beat. Free wifi is a big plus.
Review 67:After a long day of snowboarding, I was looking forward to having a long soak in the Japanese style bath/onsen. Unfortunately, the bathroom was tiny. The showers catered for 4 people at a time with not much space in between. 3 out of 4 showers were taken by a family/group when I went; and it was too awkward for me to squeeze into the 4th shower between them. Even if I had waited for them to finish showering it would still be squeeze in the bath! Having checked late, I didn't have another opportunity to try the onsen/bath. For the men's side, my husband had to squeeze in with a family who had kids jumping in the bath. So the tip is to go at obscure times if u want a little more space/quiet.
Review 68:Clean, comfortable, great restaurant recommendations, option to have japanese or western style breakfast set (my husband enjoyed his natto beans and rice and I enjoyed my eggs and freshly baked buns); thoughtful front desk staff/manager (without us saying anything, someone must have noticed that I hadn't eaten a piece of fruit at breakfast because it had gone 'off' inside; so the manager came personally to apologise and gave us some fruit as well as a honeymoon gift as they heard it was our honeymoon. Great location for eateries in the city centre and close to the train/bus station (however you do have to wait for a bus to get to the slopes - I think they do pay for your bus ticket though)
Review 69:location far from ski area (but hotel staff provided free bus passes)
Review 70:amazing staff, great food, room perfect size for single traveler, modern finishes, good wifi signal
Review 71:Room are small, but this is common in Japan. The hotel is downtown, need a car or take a bus to go to the ski resort.
Review 72:The staff is very friendly, english skills was good, excellent breakfast, confortable beds and enjoyable onsen. Hotel style is pleasant, nice design. Very good restaurants recommendation by the staff.
Review 73:Room was a bit small, shuttle to the ski area didn't run often enough
Review 74:Staff were extremely helpful. Location handy to train and bus station, restaurants, gym/pool across the road.
Review 75:the people at this hotel kept anticipating our needs and worked very hard to provide things before we asked for them. They were wonderfully attentive and helpful
Review 76:Room was a little small with difficulty accomodating all luggage or clothes if staying a long time. Am sure there may be larger rooms available.
Review 77:The general environment was very modern and clean. Room scents by choice on check in, and air odourisers outside the lift on each floor. Restaurant small and welcoming but suitable for business meeting or a discrete conversation. Good opening hours of the Spa. Bath tub and good shower in the room. Breakfast excellent.
Review 78:Great breakfast, staff are super friendly and helpful. Shower is clean and tidy. Room is cozy And bed is great. I would go back and stay at the same hotel in the future
Review 79:Insulation in room could be improved. Areas near window had a draft and would freeze overnight. The room layout didn't allow much space for luggage.
Review 80:Hotel is nicely situated near JR station, and their staff were most helpful and accommodating. Rooms were very clean and had the necessary amenities.
Review 81:The duvets on the bed were just too warm, it was impossible to have a full nights sleep even with the heating off and the window open
Review 82:The Concierge staff provided excellent service in offering recommendations for restaurants, trips and making bookings. The location of the hotel is great if you want to be in an area that gives you access to the Ski slopes via the public bus (complimentary tickets given by the hotel) and also be within walking access to a variety of restaurants.
Review 83:If you are there for the skiing the shuttle buses to the slopes are infrequent however there is a bus that will get you there in time for the lifts to open and it's possible to walk home but it takes half an hour.
Review 84:Staff were very friendly and helpful with everything. The communal bath area was beautiful. Hotel was very clean and modern.
Review 85:It is a very neat and clean hotel in modernized-style, though its room is slightly small as many other Japanese hotels are. Breakfasts are one of two types, Western and Japanese, which we should make a decision every one night before was quite nice. Very nice location, a stone-throw distance from Furano station. For ski in Furano ski resorts, we should take a ride on regular bus(15-20 min ride from hotel to New Furano Prince Hotel). In the morning, 8:10 bus goes to Furano Prince hotel only, and if you want to go to New Furano Prince Hotel side, you should wait for 11:10 bus. If you want to go to be there earlier, should take a taxi (2000-2500Y). It is good bus or taxi travel alongside the snow-white village, and for the bus, hotel offers free ride coupon. Overall, we stayed very nice and cozy place for the ski in furano!
Review 86:Don't expect their free Onsen is as good as other Onsen Hotel . ^_^
Review 87:Hotel design is modern. Although room size is small, but it location is great. Easy to access to any place in Funaro town. Good for travellers who are not driving.
Review 88:As others have said, no curtains on the window! I don't understand this, I looked and there were curtain rod/blind hooks in the ceiling/wall but no curtains! So in one time they did have curtains. What we had to do is tape our hotel pajamas to the window to block out the sun in the morning. Luckily we were mailing a parcel home so had excess packing tape.
Review 89:Furano Natulux was our favourite Hotel on our week long driving tour of Hokkaido (part of our 2week holiday in Japan). The location was great and the free car park was very handy. We stayed for 2 nights in late September so the air conditioner was still working in our room (we read other reviews say they set it only on heat in autumn/winter). It was also nice we could open the window too, and no bugs when we were there! It was clean and easy to access by car. No combinis very close, but we stocked up at a grocery store 5min drive away so were okay. We recommend dining at YBR (Yellow Brick Road) Delicious Italian Restaurant, try the pizza! It's across the road from the MacDonalds, 5min drive away.
Review 90:The twin bed room is quite small . The onsen area on the ground floor is also very small. The surrounding area of hotel is rather quiet. Most restaurants are closed in the afternoon.
Review 91:The short distance from station to hotel. One of the check-in counter staff was very helpful and polite when we requested for his help to call our next destination hotel for special arrangement. Thanks to him that all went well during our trip there.
Review 92:There was a yoing female front desk staff who responded somewhat half-heartedly to our questions. This contrasted with her older, male colleague who went out of his way to help us in spite of his limited English. She has much to learn.
Review 93:The hotel is compact with everything you need. The premise looks new and sleek alhough I understand it is more than 10 years old. Hotel staff is friendly and speaks fairly good English, unlike most hotel staff in other parts of Japan.
Review 94:Room size compact Price little high
Review 95:Location is right opposite the station .that makes it v convenient. Compact rooms , slihhhtly pricey but cozy. The rooms are well kept. Hotel has a good and relaxing spa feeling. The staff is v friendly and helping . We were really happy with them giving its ideas and recommendations about travel plans around. They have spa in house, quite nice.
Review 96:Although the annex is very stylish and spacious, it lacks attention to details. Kitchen utensils are limited and not functional, there is no dining table and cutlery to eat our dinner. The standard economy room is really compact and we don't quite understand why they put a glass window between the toilet and the bedroom areas.
Review 97:I stayed in this hotel for 3 nights with 2 nights in its standard economy room which is ultra compact but comfortable, and 1 night in its annex which is a suite with kitchen and washing machines. The annex is beautiful and stylish. Staff are friendly and tried their best to communicate with us in English although they have limited English. It is located right opposite JR station and within walking distant to restaurants and supermarket.
Review 98:Room could have been slightly larger.
Review 99:Reception help with anything and everything, from taxi calling, activity planning, sightseeing. Breakfast was good, had my first slice of Hokkaido melon there. Artificial hot spring was fantastic too, helping me unwind after a long day of travel. There's even a coin laundry and drying service, reasonable and practical. Shower & bath necessities were very nice with lavender scented soaps, etc.
Review 100:Nice service, staff are very friendly to advise nearby restaurants, facilities are awesome too. Only 1-2 mins walk from Furano station, perfectly location!
Review 101:no convi store nearby. the nearest is quite a distance away.
Review 102:stylish. good service. free complimentary onsen. lots of rest nearby (Cheap and Very good).
Review 103:location!!!!! i guess it could be the best choice in furano as there are less of choices you can have in that area. food their breakfast is big n in quality food
Review 104:Room appeared recently renovated - everything in great condition, spotless. Good location very near train station, free parking if you're driving. Nice if small onsen on site. Nearby are several excellent places for a bite (Teppan Okanomiyaki Masaya, Furano bakery)
Review 105:Its very close to train station, has japanese bath and sauna, place to put skies, free bus tickets to ski resort, close to restaurants.
Review 106:very good location. 10 mins to ski by shuttle. The hotel offers shuttle ticket and discount coupon for taxi.
Review 107:The staff are friendly, parking is free. The room and relax is clean.
Review 108:The staffs were really friendly, helpful and attentive to us. They try their best to help with our needs.
Review 109:Mr. Ichii, the front desk manger was so helpful in accomodating us with whatever was needed to make our stay a very pleasant one.
Review 110:Check in time 15:00 but should check out at 10:00 is not reasonable.
Review 111:Great location, providing free Japanese style spa
Review 112:There are no comments available for this review
Review 113:Clean and conveniently located. Room is a bit small. Luckily we booked 2 rooms for our family of 4.
Review 114:Nothing. Room price a bit high, can lower is the best.
Review 115:Location,service, breakfast (日式和洋式), 泡湯。
Review 116:None.
Review 117:I liked the location and staff service was excellent. They also provided a personalised map of the area recommending eateries and sights.
Review 118:-
Review 119:Very relaxing and friendly atmosphere
Review 120:Location is really good, near JR station.
Review 121:Excellent location, clean, cozy and quiet. Free parking for hotel guests.
Review 122:nice room
Review 123:cleaniness is absolutely top notched. location is good too
Review 124:- opposite of JR Furano station - free parking - clean room - free onsen - small gifts for young children
Review 125:Staff are friendly and helpful. Nearby lots of good restaurants. Location is good.
Review 126:It had a boutique feel to it . It's very close to the Furano station . The Japanese bento breakfast was excellent .
