A medieval hilltop village that has been transformed into a 4-star hotel, this is Palazzo Viviani Castello Montegridolfo. It offers a swimming pool with panoramic views of the Adriatic Sea.

Reviews for Palazzo Viviani Castello Montegridolfo
Review 1:We were in a unit in the Village with open-loft (2 beds for children). When walking on the loft floor you had the impression that the ceiling under it were falling on you!
Review 2:Views and location!
Review 3:Poor wifi & average airconditioning in the "burgo" part of the hotel (the little "houses" behind the swimmingpool )
Review 4:Very pretty hotel with great swimmingpool !!our teenagers enjoyed it very much! The restaurants in the castle are great as well!
Review 5:No wi fi; no AC, breakfast deplorable; no information about what was open for eating; it must be close to closing down, since no one seems to care!
Review 6:Close to some nice areas
Review 7:The WI-FI does not work at all in the rooms, even you have signal you can not connect to the Internet; the breakfast was poor;
Review 8:The location, and the fact that the room was very big and clean.
Review 9:Very very poor wifi Poor facilities at the pool area Only one restaurant available (very good!), previously we have been informed that there were several places at the borgo It looked like this hotel has no management
Review 10:Restaurant Beautiful borgo
Review 11:They claim they have air conditioning but that is not true! A poor portabel ac that did not do the job! Terrible stay when it was hot! We complained but they hardly listended!
Review 12:Beautiful Place!
Review 13:Absolute gem to spend some romantic time! Beautiful views! We stayed at the castle and the room was superb and big. Real authentic furniture, and still all good facilities, like good big beds and very functional bathroom. Because of very few visitors, only one of castle-areas three restaurants was open (Osteria), but it was really good and delicious dining experience with modest prices.
Review 14:Eating options on evening a little limited, though there was a good restaurant within a few hundred feet of the main building
Review 15:Whilst the rooms in the small block by the pool aren't as good as the ones in the main palazzo, the sea view we had and easy access to the pool were very good and despite initially being disappointed we were not in the main building it actually was better for us that we weren't as my wife has walking difficulties so the 1 minute walk to the pool was fortuitous.
Review 16:We didn't have any complaints but you will need a car if you wanted to explore.
Review 17:Very tranquil and the scenery is excellent.
Review 18:Personnel at entry rough; bad internal road indications: rather labyrinthic.
Review 19:dirty pool, problems with booking upon arrival,
Review 20:The location was perfect Castle rooms small but quaint
Review 21:dinner (and wine in particular) well below expectations
Review 22:overall medieval environment
Review 23:Not working Wi-Fi Rude staff Unsuitable place for children Very poor life in the castle
Review 24:Fantastic location Beautiful rooms
Review 25:Amazing location and building ... Just felt like it was lacking the numbers of punters to justify the maintainance require for such amazing place. Go and try it !!
Review 26:Our room didn't look like a new one, but we stay in 9 other cictesof Italy and the room in Montegridolfo was one of the best. I advise togo where by car if you don't look for solitude. Nothing to do at theday time accept swimming but a lot of to see around if you go by car
Review 27:Excellent breakfast, excellent view, choice of restaurants for adequatemoney, swimming pool,
Review 28:Nothing! Helpful hint - do not follow the yellow signs which lead through the main arch into the small square of Montegridolfo. This is the opposite side of the town to where the Palazzo is situated and is not that easy to drive into. You need to drive round the rear of the village and enter the Palazzo through the gardens and up a flight of stairs.
Review 29:What a wonderful stay. It was so peaceful and the small village of Montegridolfo is beautiful. Views are stunning and the staff are very helpful but not pushy - it felt like we had the place to ourselves. We realised as a family of four we would not be staying in the Palazzo but the apartments at the foot of the Palazzo gardens and pool are modern (although decorated in a traditional style) and extremely comfortable. We would definitely stay again and for more than one night.
Review 30:We were on a motor cycle trip and visit to Tavullia Valintino Rossi village which is just 4 kilometres from the castle and overlooking the village lovely views from the castle. .it's a fantastic place and the staff looked after us very well. Would love to spend more time there.
Review 31:The sound proofing between rooms (in "painters house") was very bad. We could hear every word - and more - from our neighbours. Luckily the room next to us was not occupied for most our stay.
Review 32:Very nice location with terrific view at 30 mins by car from beaches. Beautiful renovated castle complex. Nice swimming pool.
Review 33:Very misrepresented online. No warning that it was practically closed in late May, only one restaurant, no stores, no pool. WIFI didn't work. Bar consisted of a tray of bottles with inch or less of liquid. No vodka at all. Breakfast was mostly stale pastries. Requested a room with no stairs, got second floor and room had three steps down inside door. We were given a depressing family size apartment instead of a nicer double room. We were expecting comfort, not a full kitchen, etc. that would have been great for a family, not for us. We were confirmed for a room with view over pool, but had no view except for building next door. We had saved a Travel and Leisure article about The Viviani in hopes of going there. The rooms photographed for article were pretty and comfortable. I must say that the actual presentation did not live up to the wonderful article, and I am sorry for the management to see the property in decline.
Review 34:The remote location and the history. We were given help with luggage up to second floor.
Review 35:Beautiful castle. Not much to do (nothing is happening around), but veryquiet, very relaxing surroundings. It is quite astonishing to live in a real castle. If you considering staying there — you should not hesitate a second.
Review 36:The apartment was much less elegant and more in a basic B&B (agriturismo) style. Hot water heater insufficient to allow both bathroom showers to operate simultaneously.
Review 37:Beautiful location. We've stayed in main building (gorgeous) previously, and in an "apartment" this time, which had a small kitchen as well as two separate bedrooms.
Review 38:wi-fi, shower with only hot water
Review 39:beautiful location
Review 40:Nothing
Review 41:Lovely position great views. A wonderful breakfast.
Review 42:the check out :)
Review 43:The gluten-free corner in the breakfast's buffet
Review 44:Picturesque
Review 45:great location, medieval atmosphere, romantic pool, spacious apartement, gourmet breakfast
Review 46:too calm if you come from a hotel at sea,
