Boffenigo Small and Beautiful has a hilltop location 1.9 miles above Lake Garda. It offers stunning views and a 5,000 m² park with a terrace and a swimming pool.
Rooms are elegantly decorated and come with a balcony overlooking the lake or hills. All air conditioned, they also feature a minibar and satellite TV.
An extensive breakfast is provided daily, and it includes freshly baked bread, patisserie cakes, cold cuts and cheese, as well as yoghurt and much more. Omelettes are also available on request, at a small extra chage.

Review 1：My one issue during our stay was the poor quality of the food on the lunch/poolside menu. Unlike the rest of the hotel the service here was average & the food was well below average. A microwaved piece of lasagne & a tasteless burger was less than appetising...and as mentioned you are not close to other restaurants or cafes.

Review 2：We received a very warm welcome & throughout our stay the staff were mostly very friendly. The view of the lake is stunning & much to our delight there were plenty of sun beds by the pool each day. The rooms are spacious but with quite old style decor. We were requested to change rooms on our second day & we were happy to do so as our first room had a glass style bathroom, which you could see into & that was a little strange. Our second room had a normal bathroom which we felt suited us better. We had dinner at the restaurant one night & it was lovely...attentive wait staff, good food & again the views were breathtaking. We booked this accommodation as after 10 days sightseeing in cities we wanted some time lying by a pool...Boffenigo was perfect for this but be warned that without a car you are relying on a taxi to bring you to the town of Garda (approx 5km away) which costs €15 each way.

Review 38：It's a very long walk down to Garda town and very steep. Don't stay here unless you have a car or you are up for a challenge!!

Review 39：Beautiful secluded location on the hillside overlooking the Lake. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Very clean, great selection of breakfast, 2 pools, one large outdoor and one indoor.

Review 40：The sauna/steamroom is not open until 16:00 - this means you cannot have a relaxing full "Spa Day" - very disappointing. No Spa massage treatments until after 2pm was also a let down.The newer refurbished rooms have no lounge area - some of the older rooms overlooking the pool have a sofa but are noisier as above pool/breakfast area. Room soundproofing seems poor - could hear too much from adjacent rooms. Cater well for German speaking people (daily newsletter in German only, for example) but not so good for English speakers - felt a 2nd class visitor. I think "Junior Suite" was pushing it a bit - certainly a large room but I have stayed in many 5* places where such rooms are "Superior" and NOT suites ! :-(

Review 41：Location - although a little back from the lake, the view was perfect and a little quieter than the lakeside towns especially in high season. I had a car so no problem and a taxi into Bardolino would cost about 10/15 euros.The chefs are great as are the breakfast staff. Good to have an indoor pool when out of summer season.

Review 44：Gorgeous hotel, location and staff The view from the pool and sun area really was breath-taking, I can’t imagine tiring of it. The pool area was lovely as were the gardens. The restaurant was fabulous, a great variety of dishes to keep you interested over a number of nights, with capable and friendly waiting staff. The room was large, clean, with an efficient air con unit. If you fancied there was a range of organised things to do, we enjoyed the hike. It would have been helpful to have clearer directions down to Garda, esp. for walkers. My only criticism is it advertises they have bikes to borrow, but they were motorbikes and not bicycles, disappointing for a non motor biker.

Review 45：It was with some trepidation I arrived at this hotel. The single track road seems to lead to nowhere. But at the end this is a truly beautiful oasis. The hotel is perfectly situated providing a vista over Garda, framed by the hills. The hotel itself is in a well maintained and well furnished state, and its grounds well tended and spotless. The staff are very welcoming, to the extent of providing a late night snack for a weary traveller, and a true 24 hours service. Whilst many hotels now leave guests to an almost DIY breakfast, this place was well staffed, with polite and attentive waiters. There is an attention to detail in the furnishings inside and out eloquent of someone actually choosing them, rather than the usual mass purchased attemps at creating a sense of home. In short, a perfect hotel, in a perfect place, staffed with perfect people. I will return, and will do so soon.

Review 48：Very nice hotel with fantastic view over Lake Garda! On Saturday late afternoon they organized a drink for all guests at the swimming pool. Nice dinner, amazing breakfast! We will certainly revisit this lovely hotel!

There were very few food option (only two types of toats) on the pool side bar except lunch hour and no cold beer at 16:00, disappointing. The pool was very dirty, many dead insects. We stayed 3 nights, but didnt see any pool cleaning. Breakfast is poor, dinner is OK.

Review 52：Excellent location with nice view of Lake Garda. Even though the hotel was fully booked, we could always easily find free couches and sitting places on the pool area. We had nice, big balcony in our room with mountain view. More than enough free parking places for your car. Baby-car friendly facilities and elevators. I recommend for families with babies.

Review 53：As mentioned by others before: they should remove the "small". Hotel looks indeed extended (new wing), and so it now has more a "big hotel"-feeling, lots of people. Rooms with view to Garda lake are at same side as outside breakfast & bar area. Even at night, people tend to be noisy here, so sleeping with the window open is difficult without ear plugs. Balconies have not that much privacy because the outside walls are kind of small.

The breakfast was very good and extensive, exactly what you expect from a 4star hotel. We would certainly go back to this hotel in case we would ever go back to the Garda Lake.

The hotel is on a great position as it's really close to drive down to the Lake but it's far enough away to get away from the crowds.
