Reviews for Stanley Seaview Inn
Review 1:Stanley Seaview Inn clearly care about doing things well. They were by far my best experience out of 8 different places in Tassie this time around. The staff were great and even made a booking for us to have dinner in town because only 2 places were open. They emailed information to me about attractions and suggestions for the area. The room was perfect for our needs, clean and comfortable. The cleaner happily vacated the room because we popped back to change before heading out again. Well done. In a State that relies heavily on tourism it was nice to come across a place that doesn't take things for granted but instead goes the extra mile.
Review 2:The bed was very uncomfortable, the couches were very uncomfortable, there was no peeler in the kitchen.
Review 3:The cleanliness of the place and the playground
Review 4:It is a little too far to be able to comfortably walk into the main township.
Review 5:The view from the 2 bedroom unit had stunning views across farmland to the Nut and sea.
Review 6:Basic accommodation but awesome town.
Review 7:Friendly owners, great being able to make toast/coffee in room for breakfast. Kids enjoyed bunks with a separate dividing door so everyone had a bit of space.
Review 8:The balcony face the Nut. We took photos of the Nut at different daylight conditions near dawn, without the need to leave our warm room in chilly morning.
Review 9:I loved everything and everyone about this Inn.
Review 10:We arrived late and the manager was kind enough to leave the keys for us at a designated spot and we handled the room upon check-out. In the morning, we woke up to amazing views of the Nut. Our balcony opens up to a farm like atmosphere. It was clean, comfortable and I would love to come here again.
Review 11:We got in late and had to leave early so didn't meet any staff but they left us our key in an easy to find spot and the room was really nice. The view of the nut was also beautiful! This could have been nice to stay here for a few days!
Review 12:Room no 9 overlooked the backyard.would have preferred room overlooking bay. No real complaints at all.
Review 13:Staff were friendly and helpful. Gave us information on surrounding areas and places to go. Also helped in heating a heat bag for my back problem
Review 14:The faecal stench that had been inadequately camouflaged by the sickening perfume of the carpet cleaner. This forced us to request an alternative room.
Review 15:The bright light and veranda outside our original room.
Review 16:On arrival we were upgraded to a cottage on the waterfront so were very pleased with that. Proximity in the centre of the village and off street parking were great.
Review 17:The facilities, quality of the fittings and condition of the complex did not justify the nightly rate.
Review 18:There was a good view from the property looking across to The Nut but you needed a car to travel to Stanley.
Review 19:Too far away from historic town centre and places of interest. ( most places closed) Could only find one cafe open for breakfast- no bakery in the town and one overpriced small supermarket. Three items offered for continental breakfast - in room - for $15.
Review 20:Comfortable ,quiet, lovely view across bay and Stanley Nut.
Review 21:Could have been told about breakfast arrangements when we arrived. But it worked out ok as there's a great breakfast bar in town - Moby Dicks!
Review 22:The view was fantastic! Could see the nut and all of Stanley. The room was really comfortable and the bathroom was great, modern and clean!
Review 23:Loved the location. Beautiful view. Staff were friendly. Room very comfortable. Just what we needed to chill out. Didn't use the wi-fi but would in future. Didn't have breakfast so can't comment on that.
Review 24:The paint peel and rust around the windows in the bathroom. The heating in the room it was freezing when we arrived.
Review 25:The bed was amazing, along with the relaxed nature of the staff.
Review 26:Not enough crockery to self cater for own breakfast. As travellers we carry our needs with us and had to use our own bowls and plates and cutlery to have breakfast and snacks.
Review 27:Quiet position, easy access to room, adequate laundry facility.
Review 28:We stayed for two nights in a two bedroom unit - what a great location with fabulous views towards The Nut and Stanley township. The rooms were clean, warm and cosy also quiet and peaceful - not a sound was heard during the night. Would highly recommend this accommodation We really
Review 29:Unfortunately we were not able to stay as long as we had planned as the weather was not suitable for us to be able to spend time outside exploring this lovely town. We were also on a very strict timetable for our holiday.
Review 30:Calls itself an "Inn" but no facilities, not even a fresh breakfast - they deliver a tray to your room the previous evening!
Review 31:Good views, adequate bedroom comfort
Review 32:Breakfast was too expensive $15 for 3 items, we paid $15 for bread etc for two of us for two days. Also smoke detector faulty and went off when we used toaster.
Review 33:Lovely big room and great views.
Review 34:I did not appreciate being asked to refrain from discussing negatives on the evaluation but to deal with it in person. That interferes with honest assessments of the property and was the only sour note of the visit.
Review 35:We loved the views and the playground so children could run around. The rooms were comfortable and facilities were good.
Review 36:The accommodation . The view and the friendly and helpful service. Excellent location with a full view of the nut. About 1 KM out of town. This suited our needs
Review 37:Restaurant is only open for pre booked group functions, and it is best to book for a table in town. We had a 3 bed room, with a kettle/fridge and toaster. 2 wine glasses no cutlery or plates. And one face cloth and shampoo. The locks on the doors are a bit past there use by dates
Review 38:Fantastic views over Stanley, The Nut and the surrounding land. Easy to find, and very comfortable, short drive to town for tea, or up to the lookout. good parking. Close to Attractions such as Table Cape, and Dismal swamp. We stayed here on our way back from the West Coast.
Review 39:Nothing
Review 40:Very comfortable stay with very friendly and helpful staff. The room was a good size and breakfast delivered to your room so an easy get away at the end of your stay. Dinner at the pub was also good and the walk around The Nut is essential!!!
Review 41:The hotel was having problems with their Internet connection, so we could not access it from our apartment. However, the staff was very apologetic and suggested we use the lounge area which worked fine.
Review 42:Lovely location with sunrise views out to the Nut. The staff was very welcoming and caring, and the 2 bedroom apartment was well appointed.
Review 43:Nothing,it was all good.
Review 44:Clean and comfortable room with beautiful view of "The Nut " from the window and balcony. Staff very friendly but a shame the restaurant wasn't open any more. Had nice fish and chips in the town though. Will definitely be back and will stay here again.
Review 45:THe owner "Clint" was very polite and helpful. Our TV went on the blink, but Clint soon had a bigger TV in the room within half an hour. The room was clean and comfortable. Good value for the money
Review 46:Nothing serious. Wifi was a bit feeble, that's all.
Review 47:Lovely view, pleasant and helpful staff, very well equipped and comfortable suite (we were given a free upgrade).
Review 48:We were late reaching the hotel and rang them after reception had closed and they left the key and directions to the room in a safe place for us to find and were very helpful Free Wifi worked well Clean, warm room with fridge and kettle
Review 49:nothing
Review 50:everything was what we expected the staff were fantastic the accommodation was just perfect the area nice and quiet with places for children to play and enjoy themselves
Review 51:Dated décor. We were attacked by a determined mozzie so had little sleep, even though we never left the door or the one & only window open. The bathroom had dated taps not mixers!
Review 52:Good size room. Can park the car right in front of the room, if staying on the ground floor. Bed firm but reasonably comfortable with nice linen.
Review 53:A few bits of crockery and cutlery so a self catered brekky is possible.
Review 54:Very clean, comfortable and well appointed rooms. Good for families. Take bookings for one night only which many of the cottages in Stanley do not.
Review 55:The heating is not working, the room is too moist and also the bathroom have a bad smelling ,the spider has crept into the bed lamp so long time, anyway it's very natural.
Review 56:The hotel is far form the sea but it located on a small hill so it have both the Nut and the sea view.
Review 57:Playground equipment old & unstable
Review 58:Clean & bright Outdoor table to sit & take advantage of the lovely view A short drive from town so sheep & cows in adjacent properties for my son to watch friendly staff refurbished bathroom
Review 59:Although this is a large property, which was booked out, it was still very quiet at night ensuring a good sleep. The cabin was spacious, clean and well appointed and the property was a comfortable walk to the town centre. Would recommend.
Review 60:The room was smelly and the bathroom dark. The rooms were also incredibly noisy, and the sound of people coming and going was very loud in our room - not very relaxing!
Review 61:The location was perfect - up on the hill so you could see over Stanley and The Nut. The room was nice and the bed comfortable.
Review 62:Terrace which was a common walkway.
Review 63:The highlight here is the fantastic view out to "The Nut" with surrounding country side and sea. On a perfect summers day, as we enjoyed, it was spectacular.
Review 64:No air conditioning Only 1 heater in the main living area TV did not work in the bedroom Bed was not very comfortable
Review 65:Located in a lovely area Beautiful view Spacious rooms
Review 66:Not really. Just at the night time there are many mosquitos and bugs outside. There is an anti-bug door outside the normal door in the balcony but that door has a hole in it. We have to keep both doors shut all the time at night.
Review 67:The view from the balcony is awesome. It faces the Nut.
Review 68:Close to Stanley just a 3mins drive to center and received free upgrade to Seaview room while we check-in is a Christmas gift to us. Also enjoy the sunset with Tasmania wine . What a beautiful evening in Stanley.
Review 69:Everything great. Would stay there again.
Review 70:Car parking for guests. Lack of noise in room. Nice gardens & surrounds. Stanley is a comfortable drive from Cradle Mountain & on to Devonport. Excellent tourist facilities.
Review 71:Comfort cleanliness of room. Pleasant manner of staff and view of the Nut and Bass Strait. A good jumping off point for discovering Stanley. Would stay there again. Impressed with promptness my leftbehind iPad was returned safely to my home address. Thankyou!
Review 72:Position of lighting over the bed, hit head getting in, sitting in bed. Poor breakfast arrangements, limited choice and delivered night before. Parking awkward when number people in units.
Review 73:Location
Review 74:only concerns were the steep steps to the office area. Some people would find these uncomfortable to negotiate and also the bed which was uncomfortable for us. This was a let down after everything else was just so good.
Review 75:only there for the one night but certainly appreciated the homely feel of the place and the closeness to the restaurants and town facilities. would certainly stay here again if the opportunity arises.
Review 76:No negative comment to make here.
Review 77:Everything. It was good value. Comfortable room, clean and tidy. Fantasic views of the nut, the township and surrounding area. Most enjoyable stay over three days during our fourteen day drive tour holiday of Tasmania.
Review 78:When we arrived not realizing so far out of town I asked if there iscourtesy bus she said no we don't even have taxi's I said ohbeing a long weekend & on our honeymoon not a lot drinks she said wedon't even have cop's with expression on her face like it'sok to drink n drive. Review 79:The view
Review 80:The rooms did not have heater and it was freezing cold. Kitchen facilities were very basic. The 2-bedroom unit we rented was a little small for a group of four adults.
Review 81:The location was superb. From our unit, we could see The Nut and most of Stanley town. Free wifi was an added bonus and it was pretty fast.
Review 82:Restaurant attached to Hotel no longer operating & had to go into the township to obtain food.
Review 83:Great views to The Nut & Ocean. Room was a good size & not bad value for money.
Review 84:Smokers left their butts in bins directly outside rooms. Disgusting smoke filling the air. Smokers shouldn't be allowed to smoke on the decks outside rooms at all. They should be a long distance away from rooms.
Review 85:Comfortable bed. Friendly staff.
Review 86:Only problem was with 5 of us there was a queue for the toilet which was located in the bathroom.
Review 87:Great views, room was spacious and light and great for a family.
Review 88:Damp spots on carpet, maybe it had been spot cleaned.
Review 89:Comfortable and lots of information for travellers, we were on a business trip and could not make use of the info but plenty there of interest.
Review 90:Your mis-spelling of "Travellers" or "Travelers". You use only one "L"which is incorrect. Please change on your enquiry page. Thanks,
Review 91:Everything. Very Happy.
Review 92:We were disappointed that none of the information about Stanlet mentioned that a lot of the town was closed during winter. So we couldn't do the cruise or the chairlift.
Review 93:The seaview was very comfortable and the staff very knowledgable about the area and gave us some great drives to do.
